"I'll take the mumbo-jumbo you're stammering as a yes,"
Bill momentarily froze. Did he hear that right? Gerald had taken his answer as a yes? He would grant Bill a favour, something about special electroncles, no doubt an attempt to steal his soul later. And beside his trusty boat, another apparition had appeared, though seemingly a flesh and blood man. But he was standing on the water!
And he wanted to rob him! Were these aparitions linked somehow? One to steal your soul, the other to steal your physical possessions? Such a build up of ghostly activity would normally only happen near the florian triangle!
But ghost or no, "I'm lettin' nobody rob me!"
He threw the next best thing he had available. A full bottle sailed towards Stevie's head.
Stop Winin'

(Cooking 51, Strength 51) He throws the bottle at the opponent (ranged)
And then suddenly, with a small *pop*~splash~, the strange man was gone again.
"Hah, and if ye ev'r show yer face again, that bottle's gonna come outta yer wallet!"
Now all he needed to do was convince Gerald he didn't agree to the... Wait, what?

"Your ensemble is not less bewildering, Golden Knight. I'll gladly buy this bottle off you, sir, once I sell your friends armor. The rest of your cache I will be liberating now."
He was back, nonchalantly leaning on the railing of the Pilar, from the outside! And in his hand he held the bottle that Bill was sure had careened away into the ocean.
"That's it! I'm getting the fish!" Bill shouted angrily and ran into his cabin.
Stevie didn't let the angry old man disturb his calm demeanor one bit. He adressed Gerald:
"It's very unfortunate that you resist. Because you see, we have you surrounded."
He lightly pushed off the railing, gliding away from the Pilar after making such an ominous statement. He didn't seem openly hostile, but his hands dropped slightly towards his hips, where two strange looking guns were affixed to a belt.
And all of a sudden the horizon tilted. Or was it the Pilar? A low thud from below seemed to indicate that something had bumped into the ship. A whale? Unlikely. On the other side from Stevie, something broke the surface.

What had surfaced looked like a... scrapyard that dreamed about being a shark. About half the size of the Pilar, it had a rusty dorsal fin and a gigantic maw. And, slightly unfitting for the sleek shark design, it had two round windows on each side. Two young men and a mink leaned out of these, passing through the bubble resin they were made of. One was wielding a hammer.

"Give us your shit! We got a submarine and we're not afraid to use it!"
"Yeah, give us your popcorn!"
"I told you, they don't have popcorn. Now keep pedalling!"
"We're armed, so you better surrender..."

An Encounter at Sea! #11

"Surrounded?" He jeered. Though his confidence would soon be shaken, literally. The Pilar violently tilted upwards! The ocean's horizon line was surely out of view and Gerald fell over, something had hit them. The vessel dropped back into the ocean's waters and Gerald sprung to his feet to hide the fact he'd fallen. He snapped about and pointed his scepter at Stevie! What had broke the water surface had finally showed itself; it was no animal rather something man-made.

"Give us your shit! We got a submarine and we're not afraid to use it!"
"Yeah, give us your popcorn!"
"I told you, they don't have popcorn. Now keep pedalling!"
"We're armed, so you better surrender..."
" Give us your popcorn?" He reiterated. He quietly chuckled, their demands and exclamations were amusing though in a situation like this. "What are you guys doing out at sea like this?" He questioned, still retaining some of his unseriousness due to their first impressions.

"Didn't you hear us the first time? Give us your stuff!"
"Yeah!! Don't forget the popcorn..."

"Would you shut up about the popcorn, you idiot!"

The Pilar pitched and rolled after the bump it had recieved. Bill Santiago had run into his cabin in a hurry. A few bumps and curses announced that the old sailor had noticed the shaking as well. But what emerged from the cabin onto the deck did not look at all like the geriatric cook. A giant spike was the most striking feature, sitting in front of a glowering face followed by a torpedo shaped body, a stark blue and white in colour, with a chain hanging on its side. Bill had brought out his prized possession, his taxidermied Spearfish, Lear.
Waving it around, looking between Gerald and Captain Mirac he shouted:
"Which of you ghosts is rocking me boat?"
He heard his golden guest address someone on the opposite side of the dark skinned sea ghost. Was there more?
" Give us your popcorn?" He reiterated. He quietly chuckled, their demands and exclamations were amusing though in a situation like this. "What are you guys doing out at sea like this?" He questioned, still retaining some of his unseriousness due to their first impressions.

"Didn't you hear us the first time? Give us your stuff!"
"Yeah!! Don't forget the popcorn..."

"Would you shut up about the popcorn, you idiot!"
There was a shark in the water, and it was made of metal! And this spirit shark had eaten three young men! Men who... wanted his popcorn?
"They're after me holy popcorn!"
He paused for a second. He had almost said "lucky charms" just now. An image of a red haired young boy he hadn't seen in a while appeared in his mind. He shook his head. This was no time to dwell on the past. If these apparitions were lured in by the holy popcorn, that could only mean one thing:
Gerald! There be demons afoot! We gotta defend the popcorn! You take that fella!"
The head of his trusty weapon popped off, revealing a grip behind the skull. The nose spike and skull formed a handy weapon roughly the size of a katana, while a second grip stuck out of the hollow body of Lear, a throwing harpoon made out of cast iron. Bill performed his pre fight ritual of pointing his Marlinspike at the enemy, both as intimidation and to give himself pause to assess the situation.
Bill was an expert fisherman, so he pointed Gerald towards the human-like Captain Mirac, while he would try to fish the voodoo shark out of the water.

But the dark skinned would-be-brigand hadn't waited for the old man to make that decision.
"Let's see how long you can resist when I wash you into the ocean."
After finding a patch of steady ocean surface to stand on, he whipped his left leg through the air, revealing his high tech boots. There was a bubble underneath it that would roll over the water, allowing him to glide effortlessly. But right now, what would become apparent were the water pumps included in the strange footwear. Thin tubes snaked their way across the surface of Stevie's wetsuit to and from a water tank beneath his big bomber jacket. And they packed a punch. A torrent of water shot out of the younglings soles, shredding the bubble in the process.

The water shot out towards the Pilar in a crescent shape parallel to the horizon, aiming to brush both men off the deck into the ocean. Mirac tapped the boot onto the surface of the water, and a new bubble formed. The pumps in his boots engaged to refill the water he had used in his attack.

He heard his golden guest address someone on the opposite side of the dark skinned sea ghost. Was there more?
Gerald paused his condescend of the pompous mermaid who had risen from the water, he turned to bill and gave him a stare that perfectly depicted his bamboozlement.

"This time it isn't me." He mockingly replied however it Bill invested himself further into this delusion, the bot had rocked from the strange submarine that had risen out from the waters below. It's crew clearly wanted to pillage them but to his new friend... It was a haunting.

This was no time to dwell on the past. If these apparitions were lured in by the holy popcorn, that could only mean one thing:

"Wow." He mentally exclaimed. This moment of calm sarcasm and disbelief had been cut incredibly short as Captain Mirac sprung into action. He sank to the sea surface, forming a bubble with his high-tech boots he shot a horizontal crescent shaped torrent of water! It precisely slipped across the top of the Pilar; Gerald, quick to act, immediately ducked under the slice as fast as he could however due to a bit of sloppiness his crown had received a well needed hair cut, subtly sizing down about a half or a quarter of an inch.

He gripped his scepter and aimed his palm, shooting his gauntly he gripped onto the railing of the ship, "Take him you say, FINE! I'll drag him straight back to the depths of hell... At the bottom of the ocean!" He loudly exclaimed, he reeled back his gauntlet; in unison he began a powerful sprint, with these acting together he propelled himself off the Pilar. With a quick shift of weight Gerald swung along the side of ship completely parallel to the ocean, the Pilar began to teeter a bit due to the weight of the Gilded Knight however it wasn't too serious as they still remained afloat. With his free hand he, gripped his scepter; burning brightly for a mere moment it hardened deep black and he prepared to swing at Captain Mirac, aiming smack him in the left temple to knock him off balance!

Captain Mirac's boots purred like a satisfied panther as the pumps continued to fill up the water tanks on his back. This was his first attempt at robbery, but that didn't shake his confidence at all. After all, he and Dave had spent months planning their endeavor. A first attack to wash as many enemies as possible into the water would render the enemy mostly helpless against him and the Tin Shark Crew, who had spend most of their childhoods in or around the ocean, on naval bases and marine vessels.
The crescent of water splashed across the surface of the enemy vessel, however instead of falling into the ocean, the strange Golden Knight ducked below the attack. He extended his gauntlet to grip onto the railing of the ship and used it to accelerate himself for an impressive jump. He swung the golden scepter he was carrying, aiming right at the young man's head.
Or at least where it had been mere blinks of an eyelash before. With a quick step back, Stevie had popped both of the bubbles on his boots, dropping down into the ocean at the speed of gravity. Immediately the high tech soles produced new bubbles, straining to shoot right back up to the surface. The black clad young man pushed off their upwards momentum, angling to get a little more distance between himself and his armoured adversary.
Just before breaching the surface, his hand found one of the guns strapped to his hips, and out of the spray from his rapid ascension, a fist sized ball of water shot towards his foe.
Having found his footing on the surface again, he had to spit out a mouthful of saltwater that he had nearly swallowed in his hasty retreat underwater before he could speak:
"It seems that you are a man of science as well. Maybe I ought to keep that armor of yours for myself, to study it. Too bad it will cause you to sink. Down to hell I presume?"

Gravity Drop (Water Skeeters)

The bubbles on the boots pop, allowing the user to quickly sink into the ocean for a +mastery/10 reaction speed escape. The boots blow a new bubble under water that allows the user to surface quickly again.
Flood Charge (ranged)
51 Gunslinging DPR B
A ball of water gets shot at the enemy. Enough water to fill a glass of water. Remember to get hit by this attack at least 8 times a day!
81-100: 3. Large Building Level + 2 (B) = 5. Town Level

Each turn neither the boots speed boost nor the nozzles are used, 1/4th of the water tank gets replenished.
The tank is still at 3/4th.

Bill had been studying his chosen opponent. It was something he had learned to do over his decades as a frontline fighter. Stopping for a moment to pose could be the deciding factor in avoiding being a frontline fighter. It also helped you be more informed about who you were fighting. It was then, while Bill was trying to take in every bit of information he could when he saw something right behind him. Or did he feel it? (Haki activation) Anyways, he saw Gerald hit the deck, and with trained sailors reflexes followed suit. But he was just a little bit too slow, and so the fringes of the flying wave washed across his back and slammed him into the railing of the Pilar.
4. City Block Level damage versus 4. City Block Level durability
Normal Damage, but he dodged a lot of it
"Take him you say, FINE! I'll drag him straight back to the depths of hell... At the bottom of the ocean!"
Did he hear that right? Gerald wanted to drag the bandit captain down to hell? This was as good as an admission... He shook his head to clear the stars the collision with the wall made him see. Of course, dragging someone to hell was a common expression. Besides, every one knew that hell was below the bottom of the ocean. Every amateur knew that what lay at the bottom of the ocean was known as Davy Jones Locker. Would an actual spirit have made that mistake?
Whatever, there were more earthly concerns. He shouted some encouragement at Gerald:
"Yes, that's the spirit! Show that guy who's boss!"

Not one to be outdone by a younger man, fae or not, Bill leapt up while pulling the harpoon from within the body of his spearfish like it was Excalibur, and did his best impression of a raging thunder god, threw it at the strange shark contraption while roaring:
"Yer na gettin' the popcorn!"

"I missed..." Noted Gerald, he continued his grand swing, keeping a firm grip on the Pilar as he came about to the opposing side of the teetering vessel. He smacked onto the railing forcing the ship to tilt in the opposing direction, he released his gauntlet and the mechanism whipped about reeling back to it's holster right on his arm. He gripped the railing of the ship and held on for dear life; water splashed wildly as he faintly heard the words spouted by the man.
"...Maybe I ought to keep that armor of yours for myself, to study it. Too bad it will cause you to sink. Down to hell I presume?"
He leapt back onto the deck, his heavy build forcing down on the sturdy ship. He rushed across the slightly shaken ship and stopped at the ledge, gripping the railing tightly as he stared down upon the man who'd floated atop the water. "This Armor is far to valuable for the hands of some lower lifeform to even attempt to comprehend. Your gadget works well however it's primitive, I can prove it to you quite easily considering that the mode of transportation that had brought me out to these quite waters was none other than my own sheer will." Gerald raised his scepter and aimed it at the man in the water, only being shaken by the slight bobbing of the vessel regaining it's neutral buoyancy.

"You talk as though you're in an advantageous position when really, you're only saving grace is the pitiful Submarine you choose to scour the waters within." He said, spitting upon the man's own scientific genius as a reflection of the person that had come before him.

The Shark head wiggled, the crew paddled as fast as they could as the shark suddenly sprung with life. It was aimed upwards, it's jaws whipping open as the Harpoon eased in from slightly above... "Don't break me boat!"
Bill, an experienced spearfisher (2 Profession stars in Fishing) could clearly see what was going on below the waters surface. The mysterious metal shark was diving deep, no doubt to return with speed for a devastating attack. Bill would have to dive into the water to see where it would attack.
He wrapped the chain of the harpoon he threw out to sea around a nearby winch, so that it would probably lock in place if he pulled it back in far enough, a lifeline back to the safety of the Pilar. He then took a deep breath and jumped out to sea with the chain in hand. His eyes easily adjusted to being underwater (1 Profession Star for Swimming) and he spotted the big iron fish heading right for the underside of his beloved boat. Matching Gerald's spirit the man that had emerged from the depths, spat his own wisdom and he was right, the Pillar was dead center in the ocean. Albeit Gerald filled with confidence and physical capability to swim it's expanse without much concern for his own life they weren't at a clear advantage. Gerald activated his observation Haki in secret, internally his confidence swiftly turned into tensity, he was wary of the opponent.

Gerald glimpsed the future, forseeing Stevie's snap back and so he acted quickly, premptively he jumped giving him some suspension as he reeled his legs inwards. Stevie's guns flared at their apex and he pulled the trigger, just then Gerald landed. With his strength he forced the Pilar downwards into the water, just enough so that it would not submerge but plenty enough for the buoyancy to tip alternatively; obscuring Stevie's initial target by shifting them both. Ocean water shut upwards from Gerald's jump, and the slash of the water collided with the thick blobs of water Stevie had shot.

The shots aimed for Gerald fly high, and hit the Pillar's sails. Those aimed at the Pilar flew through the splashed flames and struck the Pilars railings and upper sections of the deck. Surely it destroyed the hand railing, it tore through the very edge of the upper deck. The ship bounced back upwards and up came Gerald, leaping from the deck and into the water as well, closing in on Stevie. In one hand he held his scepter and in the other, he pulled a revolver?!

The first for his head, the second for his hip and the last for the hose connected to his water propulsion boots, intelligently planning to disable him in his frontal assault.

The Pilar's Sailor vs the Shark!
Slapped away by the diving sea dweller, Bill Santiago proved his might against the nasty popcorn thieves! The Shark veered and with a ferocious snarl it's jaws crackled as it diverted away from the Pilar. The Pilar's drivers were all taken aback, each shaken and knocked out of their seats.

"Woah! I didn't know he could fight like that!" Shouted one of the crew.
"Is it really worth it fighting him for the popcorn, shouldn't we just ask?" Fearfully questioned another.
"No, we're in too deep. That old man may be strong enough to deflect a metallic shark with an entire crew inside but WE have the advantage of air!" Blared yet another.
"Oh yeah-" The other two, spoke in unison.

The Tin Shark, swam off and turned once more. Alligning itself with the fearless spear man who had just jumped into their domain, the Shark-sub swam, increasing propulsion as it flew straight for Bill. It's jaws ajar prepared to flair widen open to clamp and drag the old man deep into the sea!
