Since Parasite a Korean movie won lots of Oscars and the first ever foreign movie to win best picture I thought I'd make this thread to talk about Asian movies in general. So post which movies you have seen from Korean, Japanese or Chinese. Lets recommend to each other.
Movies I have seen and I think you guys should watch is...
Battle Royal (Japan, 2000):
Like the name suggests it's a battle royal movie that involves a Japanese class that has misbehaved and now they have to survive and kill each other. The winner is set free.
It inspired PubG and Quentin Tarantino likes it a lot.
Seven Samurai ( Japan, 1954):
A classic in Filme history. Akira Kurosawa is a master in what he does. And Seven Samurai proves it, it's a 3 hour movie with great character development and tense moments. The way he films and how he crafts his art is truly unique. It has inspired lots of movie makers like George Lucas and Martin Scorsese.
Old Boy (South Korea, 2003):
Man this movie is great, it will keep you tense and wanting more. Its really fun watching the protagonist try to find who imprisoned him. And the twist at the end is great.
I Saw The Devil ( South Korea, 2010):
"If you stare at the abyss to long, the abyss stares back at you." Nietzsche
Oh boy your in for something very crazy with this movie. It's a revenge and torture movie and it's great.
Ichi The Killer ( Japan, 2001):
This movie is for the fun and crazy kek. Seriously this movie was banned in some countries so be careful lol. It's a movie a torturer that works for the Yakuza, he is trying to find a killer.
