Hi, Thriller Bark
I want to discuss one of the gods in Greek Mythology. This God is known as Death.
- Obviously, I am referring to the Grim Reaper that appeared before Zoro when he was on the verge of death (paralleling Luffy's near-death experience).
I present to you: Thanatos.
He, like many of the Gods in Greek Mythology, are derived of Hesiod's Theogony.
"The Greek poet Hesiod established in his Theogony that Thánatos is a son of Nyx (Night) and Erebos (Darkness) and twin of Hypnos (Sleep)" - Wikipedia
I would point out that Death is not Hades, and that Hades is Pluton. It has been mentioned previously by Nessos that it can be Enma as well according to elements of Buddhism in Zoro's scheme (he carries a sword named Enma, and that is the namesake of the Lord of Hell in Japanese-Buddhism). However, in this situation, I defer to Greek Mythology because I'm unsure what the Grim Reaper would be in Japanese-Buddhism. Is it a Shinigami? In any case, Zoro clearly wants to be the King of Hell.
So, there you go, Thanatos. Our Grim Reaper.
