This was a problem otherwise and wall Infernape
That thing taught me that fire types are weak to ground. (Okay, maybe i had heard it before, but Hippowdon got me to remember it). I just brute forced it with fire blast and healing items.
Gen 4 was my first gen, so i didn´t know how to do a proper moveset. I basically soloed everything with my Infernape, and thus always ran out of PP, so i kept higher pp moves. I also didn´t like drawback moves, so CC and Flare Blitz.
My final moveset i took the elite 4 on with was Ember, Flame Wheel, Mach Punch and Fire Blast. I only had 5-8 PP for Fire Blast, so i would spend 1 or 2 on Berthas Hippowdon, and would then use the rest on Cynthias Milotic and Garchomp.
I didn´t know what coverage was. I think during that entire playthrough i used only 2 TMs. I was exited to see that machamp could learn Flamethrower, and i taught my Staraptor toxic to help with catching pokemon. Most other moveslots were used for HMs anyway.
i did a normal playthrough of black 2 a few months ago and used serperior; it gets like no good moves
I think the Serperior i had during my first playthrough still had tackle at the elite 4 because it didn´t have better options. The only other normal type move it learns via level up is slam with 75% accuracy. I don´t know why i didnt even give it the HM strength. I just dug up my old save file, and i guess i just didn´t want move overlap with my Conkeldurr.

The new games have been very fun, but its clear that they were very rushed.
i took it extremely slow. I got the game on launch day, and i finished the story last week. Before i even started going for badges i assembled my team, including three shinys. I burned more than two weeks masuda breeding to get a shiny charcadet and finizen, and was lucky enough to find a wild shiny mankey while hatching eggs, else i´d have had to breed for that, too. It took me 3000 eggs just for the two.
