Presumably Koby helped Perona free Moria then they escaped the island which would’ve been easy for the two with the Marines drawing all the attention and just in general nobody can stand up to their combined power.
Thriller Bark ship was most likely trashed and recycled by Blackbeard so they can’t fall back onto that. If Perona were to return back to Muggy Kingdom she would find it’s deserted and most likely WG territory now.
But she is still an ally of Mihawk so seeing Cross Guild posters she would surely convince her captain to join plus Gecko Moria isn’t so dumb he’d pass on the opportunity for the alliance + revenge on the Navy and Crocodile would welcome another power house to join their ranks.
Post prison gains Moria with his timeskip haki and updated Warlord buffs would make for a great near 2 billion beri level opponent for Sanji or Jimbei assuming CG clashes with Straw Hats
I see no other way for them to remain relevant in the story without being part of something larger
