Island Olympus

[Ziosa]

The island known as Olympus is split into two distinct places, the main island that is like any normal island and has multiple towns and settlements; along with lakes and forests. The other part is a floating mass above it and although is nowhere near as high as the Sky Islands; it is a floating island held up by some unknown force. This part is known as Mount Olympus due to having several hills and a large mountain on it, and can only be reached every days when a powerful geyser shoots up a large column of air.

Mount Olympus has a large city on it, that is ruled by two of the Olympians; Zeus and his wife Hera. Both parts of the island have a large amount of powerful people and creatures, the higher you go; the stronger they are.

A punishment that resembles Hercules’ 12 labours. Tasked by La Spada to retrieve Zeus’ greatest weapon and to put the island strictly under their control. Unlike before, the Shadow, Akira was much weaker than most would expect this time round. His failure to perform his job adequately in the Sovereign War has left the Grim Reaper disappointed, prompting her to forcefully remove Akira’s Devil Fruit with her powers, scarring the boy’s soul – it took a long time before the boy could regain some semblance of his former powers. And with Akira more or less recovered from the damage – his new task requires him to travel to Olympus.

In order to get to Olympus without causing too much ruckus, Akira took a simple civilian boat towards Olympus whilst his actual ship would stay outside the horizon near Olympus, in which they would join when signalled by Akira to do so. With that plan in mind, Akira enters Olympus through the docks discreetly. His weapon, the Twilight’s Edge does not have a sheath, but given his bounty and that his sword may be potentially known to many due to its distinct appearance, Akira kept it under wraps using cloth. The boy kept his appearance simple due to the lack of information regarding his face but store his clothing used for his other appearances in a small bag. Heading into the town hopefully with no interruptions, Akira looks to gain directions to Zeus. With that, the mission to take over Olympus has now begun.

The sun shined gracefully upon the land mass of Olympus, it's floating city reamined intact and it's other half remained fixated to the ocean. The fine kisses of the waters slapped the shoreline of the Island though beyond it's geological beauty a much more sinister evil lurked within.

"Pandora's Box--- I presume you know it well, once opened had cast a great curse upon all of the Greek Pantheon. Spreading evil and darkness the furthest reaches of this globe in search of the blood of gaia. The titan slayer, Zeus was one of these many. It was long before the entrance of our traveller this had spread, the mighty deity of thunder had gone mad. From a mighty warrior and king to a tyrant, a dictator; entending a horrid and torturous hand to Olympus below. Soon his corruptions spread and he abused and disgraced his spouse, locking her away as she could no longer please him. The mighty Hydra, situated at the base of Mount Olympus guarding it's entrance roared, belowed occasionally to remind all of it's might."

This was the fate of the island, that is until Perseus, the son of Zeus led by a drive to restore his father and his people; once exiled for his resistance, stayed down below in Olympus to protect and cultivate. So that one day he might accomplish his goal.

" The people of Olympus lived in a constant stress, hustling a bustling trying to survive the best they could whilst avoiding the tyrannical wrath of Zeus and his beast... A young traveller, discreetly made his way onto the island and now is amidst the people; although the people pay him no mind as they have more pressing matters to tend to. Will he find Perseus and accmplish his goal?"

The boy walked through the town, filled with seemly dread and abandonment. While Akira has never been to an island that is supposedly under the control of the Olympians, he however has heard of the situation in Lemnos where La Spada has been to, thus he sorts of already have some ideas of what is going on. This makes finding his way around to find the Olympian… probably not too difficult given the current vibe the town is giving, someone that may have hatred over the Olympians or at the current state of affairs should be able to point him the way.

The boy walked towards the centre of the town, if there is any information or anything that Akira might be able to use, it should be by the town square where more people would gather, else taverns would be the second thing he would look for. But for the time being, Akira kept himself low whilst keeping an eye and ear about the city. Rumours, whispers, these allows Akira to cut a way straight into the Olympian problems on the island.

Shrieked the great Hydra, at the base of Mount Olympus; the great multi-headed serpent had been provoked. Driven into a frantic rage by something--- Or Someone.

"The people of the island were set into discord, rushing---scurrying the best they could, traversing the complex layout of their beloved city seeking refuge from the terrible beast. The bumped and trample over anything caught in their way, and; unfortunately for our adventurer, Akira would be caught dead center of the rush of people. No one would pay attention to his mysterious get-up nor his figure but rather the sanctity of their own lives."

"The great serpents on a rampage! Oh I do wonder why~" Snickered the rascal responsible for the mess. Empowered through conceit and a plan Persues announces himself, at the very outskirts of Olympus encamped atop a building overseeing the nest of the Hydra. It's chains keeping it subdued to the crater of the floating tower of the dieties.

Akira was exploring the town, making his way towards the heart of the town square where an incredibly loud shriek of a creature resonated throughout the town, loud – so much so that Akira could not fathom what is the source of said shriek. Whatever this is, it has sent the town into a storm of panic. Akira did not really understand what is going as he weaved through the crowd, only to find temporarily respite as he moved out of the rampaging crowd’s way into a near-by alley. He would have to investigate, but for the time being – Akira sensed he should ‘suit up’ into his persona that is well-renowned through the seas, now that there is a lot of chaos going on he should be able to change out without anyone noticing. Almost immediately, the boy retrieved two things from his small bag, a cloak and a golden mask, given by the King of Alabasta during the Sovereign War to hold onto as the ‘Beetle Guardian’. Donning them quickly, the fully black-like Assassin was ready.

Even though Akira no longer has the powers of a Zoan, the boy’s physicality is still incredible. Allowing him to scale up a nearby building up to the rooftops, the source of the shriek even if Akira could not pinpoint – the direction the citizens are running from is more than enough. But regardless, Akira could only presume to be of the direction of the floating mountain. He would start jumping from building to building, avoiding the crowd in his garb – to those that may know of Kurai, they would recognize his appearance but given whatever this is happening that has set in motion of such chaos, it is unlikely he would be stopped. And with this the goal of getting as close as he could to hopefully see what was making such a loud shriek, even if he needed to leave the very town he is in - should he be uninterrupted by anyone else.

"The people rushed, collectively they knew the limits of the hydra were the outskirts of Mount Olympus; more accurately the large crater encompassing the widget the floating island escaped from. Therefore, where it is they headed to was the coastline. It hasn't been long since Zeus fell from his benevolence and valor, the people have tried their best to cope with the ever growing issues and presses of the tyranny that befell them. At the coastline, shoddy shelters were built to holster the people in sectioned groups. It wasn't the best at defending against explosions but the location makes it far more tedious for the Hydra to reach--"

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-"
Shrieked the monster once more, it's blurred vision closing in on the perpetraitor. Perseus, perched atop the bordering buildings of Olympus over seeing the crater in which the creature was trapped within.

"Keep shrieking, you're going to make this much-much-more simple. I presume the people have gotten used to this by now, the occasional rampages that were being artificially and sequencially set into motion because of me. You hate those chains don't you- Good. It's a reminder of what you and father allowed yourselves to become. I needed to get stronger but now, I am too eager to wait- I need to save everyone and free mother." He declared.

"I'm sneaky enough to trigger your wrath but to actually kill you is something far beyond my own power." He added, breaking his smile and brewing a bit of tension. He got serious and he began plotting, he gripped his spear and lowered his head as he lost himself in thought.

Akira continues to chase after the source of the sound, as well as the direction that most of the people are running away from – it would not take long before the young man would find people running away from the centre of the island where the floating rock resides. A crater in which the people of the island would run straight away and towards the coastlines. Akira would only assume the floating rock to be where the Gods are, but he dared not conclude with such certainty. Before long however, another similar shriek could be heard, easily pinpointing said source to the crater in which prompt Akira forward.

Presumably, with enough distance travelled down towards the crater where the source of these loud shrieks should be found – Akira would hopefully be able to finally locate the entity that is responsible for the chaos that arose on the island and its citizens. Still fresh from chasing down the source of the sound, but without the powers imbued by the Devil Fruit Akira would have to cautiously conserves his energy in order to search out Zeus.

"Akira, the brave warrior of the seas came from afar. Sneakily he traversed through the rushing hordes of people, towards the source of the shrill and monstrous cries that had cursed this town with an unwanted melody. He came upon the outskirts of Olympus and came upon, and also witnessed the glory of Mount Olympus. Floating in the skies above, only tethered to the earth by chains and within it's crater a creature resided. A giant monster, the Hydra, the guardian of Mount Olympus and that it was, found to be, the source of the cries."

"However Akira was too curious, he ventured too fast and skipped the important key to scaling the mount-- he had skipped Perseus."

"Not to worry, do not fret for Perseus was not oblivious enough to ignore the additional person that had came along from the city. Although he left himself deep in thought, the movement of a shadowy figure caught his eye and a glimpse of his curiousity rose to the surface."

"Hey you!"

"He yelled, trying to get the attention of the only other person present. The Hydra was being tormented and it's heads all locked unto Perseus, maliciously gawking and awaiting the chance to eat the pest."

It did not take long for Akira to search out for the truth – a Hydra to be found and most certainly the source of this monstrous shriek that wreck chaos onto the people of this island. The young man surveyed the surroundings, the Hydra aside – he noticed the floating rock – presumably in his mind to be Olympus seems to be tethered down by a chain surrounding the crater, and it would appear that the Hydra isn’t just living by the crater but a guardian to ‘Olympus’ itself much like the tale of Cerberus guarding the door to the Underworld, granting further possibility that Olympus is indeed the floating rock on the sky.

A way into Olympus presented itself – the chains may be one way into it. Though Akira finds it unlikely to be the real way and that perhaps past Hydra is where the real entrance is. While the young man laments the fact that if he had his Devil Fruit powers before it was ripped from his soul by La Spada – entering Olympus would have been a walk in the park. However, at this point the only way forward seem to be getting past Hydra or finding a way up the chains. But before any thoughts to either of the plan could continue on Akira heard a masculine voice from a distance, prompting him to turn his attention away towards the new source, a man. Blonde and in white garbs. Without putting too much thought into it, Akira could guess the man in question isn’t ordinary – for he alone, bar Akira aside is present near the Hydra whilst everyone else is running away in chaos.

Unlikely to be attacked by the Hydra given that there is enough of a distance away that a surprise attack from it should be easily reacted to accordingly. The young man focused his attention onto Perseus. Perhaps he could answer his questions.

“Who are you?”

Akira asked, making sure introductions are made for courtesy – Perseus may be useful to help Akira get into Olympus. Though his instincts seem to tell him much like the Spada Pirates, both of them are on the same train of thought.

"Who am I?"

"Rhetorically replied the young man, he raised his eyebrow in confusion. His face almost depicting his exact thought process, 'Who am I? Why ask such a strange thing?' a palpable pair of inquiries that could almost be read from the boy's expression alone. Persues sat, perched atop the building as he looked down at the mysterious man. Cloaked and adorned with a gilded mask, along with what could only be perceived as a potential weapon."

"I don't think you have the appearance to ask who I am without introducing yourself first. You're not from around here are you?" He loudly replied to the stranger.

"The once aggravated Hydra soon turned docile; annoyed, yes but the energy wasted snarling and snapping at an adversary that was far away was nothing worth the great beast's time."

"Now that I'm getting a better fix on his person, he's too brave and courageous to be a resident of Olympus. He's definitely strong, and a fighter; from what I can tell from this far away." Pondered the young boy, he watched and analyzed the best he could temporarily turning his attention away from the Hydra and it seems the Hydra had done the same.

Akira questioned Perseus’ identity as he could recognize even without attempting to use Haki to get a sense of the man’s strength – no normal person would be brave enough to get close to the Hydra and as such must possess some form of skill and power to be willing enough. However, instead of getting an answer, Perseus immediately threw back the question, cautious enough to not identify himself first, but instead wanting Akira to identify himself before he would introduce himself. The young man thought for a moment, before responding to Perseus.

“Kurai. And no, I’m not around here.”

A simple answer, with him calling himself Kurai instead, the alias in which he dons this disguise as an Assassin of the Spada Pirates. It is a form of test, to see if he may be recognizable to the people of Olympus, unsure if the people here may be unaware of current world events. He would choose not to make his affiliation known, for it would be better if his status as a Pirate remains unknown especially if Perseus does not have knowledge of his bounty and affiliation.

“So who are you?”

His tone slightly changed in a more serious manner, one may even feel coldness emanating from Akira as he seemed to questioned Perseus once more. With the Hydra calmed down, for the time being there would be not much of a problem in regards to fighting a monster for now, only that he could take the time to get a grasp of the situation with better clarity. His wrapped weapon still seems to be hand, holding the weapon in reverse grip due to the lack of a sheathe, though not easily seen from the bandaged wrapped appearance, but one can possibly note the caution nature of the mysterious cloaked figure.

Just letting you know I have Voice of All Things if you want to make use of.

- Voice of All Things: Akira possessed some form of the Voice of All Things, being able to 'hear' animals - though he couldn't really decipher their words well enough, if at all. Currently, how Akira come to have such ability is unknown, however this ability seems to come after the events of Whole Cake Island and is first observed in the events of Sovereign War in Alabasta.

"Kurai. Kurai? Kuraaaaiiii--,"
"Quietly questioned Perseus, he muttered the man's alias continually. As his thoughts gathered trying to pin-point a familiarity with this mysterious character. Fortunately enough for Akira, the boy spent his time trying to make amends with his crazed father and to take care of the people of Olympus and therefore did not pay, nor had the time to; familiarize himself with the events of the outside world."

"Well he's right, he is an outsider. That name surely does not ring a bell, so as an outsider why adorn yourself in such a way? It's counter intuitive to disguise yourself in robes rather than appear more civilian like. Well that's my personal opinion, I don't know how much I can trust this man either but he wishes to know who I am. I guess I can be courteous."
"Thought the boy, he jabbed his spear in the side of the building he perched on. Taking his time to firmly grasp the polearm he swung pulling the weapon from the concrete wall and he made a somewhat safe landing on the ground below."

"You had the courtesy to name yourself, although with your questionable shroud, I don't know if you're trust worthy. I swear by Zeus that you are. My name is Perseus, a pleasure to meet you Kurai."
"He said from a distance."

"Although the Hydra had turned it's back on Perseus, it still itched with anger and determination to kill the boy. The creature's voice shrill and feminine cried and wailed, out of fear of the evil that had overtaken Zeus and out of anger against Perseus' torment. It was anxious and extremely defensive, only acting on it's own basic instinct to survive-nothing more."

Akira watches on as Perseus took a moment to think, but ultimately responded back in the way the man hoped for. It would seem indeed that the people of Olympus does not have much interaction with the outside world, if at all and for the time being it would play into Akira’s hand for him to keep his affiliation secret – until he can meet Zeus. The shriek of the Hydra changed, perhaps thanks to the closer proximity – the young man could feel a more stress-filled screech this time round, though knowing exactly what the Hydra is thinking is impossible yet he could tell something isn’t exactly right. However, for now, his focus is to reach Zeus, and thus he would need to find out more about this Mt Olympus and the giant rock floating above them.

“I came here to look for the Olympians.”

Akira responded in kind, he does not know how to reach Zeus but gathered the floating piece of rock would be a strong possibility. After all, Gods tends to be above high reaching places compared to their mortal peers. Yet he would make sure not to too quickly reveal his intentions to Perseus, another being that is quite shrouded in mystery as well. In case he would work against him.

He would attempt to reach the rock via the chains but presumably – that would be a sure-fire way to let himself be known before he would reach Zeus. The response he gave to Perseus wasn’t much of ‘How do I get to Mt Olympus?’, as it would give it away that Akira does not know how to reach them and thereby giving someone a power dynamic that puts him in a position to be working for them to achieve his goal. He had hope Perseus would not catch on to that possibility by putting too much thought into his words, and instead blurt out the information Akira needed.

"Olympians? You mean the people. Surely that you do."
"He hastily replied, though his eagerness faded. He curiously stared at the man, he had grabbed at the chains keeping Mount Olympus mounted to the earth. Not many know this bit of history but to keep the connection between the Olympians on the mount and those who were born of the earth, Mount Olympus was bolted down to keep that connection alive however to reach the mount is a much-much simpler process than many would imagine. Perseus was the key to exact path."

"Uhh, pardon me Kurai but climbing on the chains won't take you up there. They are etheral creations and thus represent the bond between the Olympians and the Divine that rest at the very top, I temporarily sealed off this connection to protect earth from the evil emanating from the divine in heaven. So if you would, please don't tamper with the chains."
"Perseus was quite sensitive with this aspect of his home, however this was apart of his duty. As you may have already known, Zeus had gone down a dark path due to Pandora's box being opened and as the last line of defense Perseus only did what was within his power to maintain and prolong the lives of his people."

"You don't seem too knowledgable of how things work here, it's evident from how 'jittery' you've become. What are your intentions on Olympus?"
"Perseus asked. He had become inquistive, he sensed a subtle desire brewing from his perception of Kurai's behavior. He was interested in going up to the Divine but as a foreigner to the island and a mysterious entity with a questionable choice of clothing, he was not one you would expect to trust so easily."
