Rules -

  • Do not, under any circumstances, reveal any information to any player regarding this game if you are no longer alive.
  • Do not quote Private Messages from me; paraphrase. And no, replacing second-person pronouns with first-person pronouns does not count as paraphrasing.
  • Do not edit your posts; double post if necessary. I will mod-kill any player that edits a post. Take this as your only warning.
  • Vote towards a lynch by typing Vote lynch <name>, where <name> is the name of the player you are voting for. You do not need to type Unvote, or [Change] alongside a newer vote. I will always accept votes even with a wrong format, however it is not my responsibility if I miss them by mistake. Failure to vote results in nothing but shame.
  • You must post at least 15 times per day phase. Failure to comply will result in a warning and a mod-block at the first offence. Continued absconding will be dealt with accordingly. If you think you might not be able to meet the requirement at any given phase, let me know in advance and you will not be affected by the repercussions.
  • If you believe that I have made a mistake, please address the issue with me via Private message. Save any other comments for after the game.
Gameplay -
  • There are two level of kills present in this game - Regular and Super. Regular kills can be stopped by roleblocking the killer or protecting the victim. They can be redirected. Superkills bypass regular defenses, role-blocks and may not be redirected.
  • Abilities with limited use are expended upon activation. For example, a one shot can not be used a second time even if the ability failed, unless specified in your role PM.
  • Actions are processed at the end of the night with priority given to certain abilities. During the day, actions are processed immediately using a time-stamp.
  • Every role possesses at least one active ability per cycle. There is no limit on active abilities performed per role per phase, unless specified in your role PM. However, an ability (limited and unlimited use) can only be used once per cycle, unless specified otherwise.
  • The game will feature a twilight phase, where the senate will seat and debate on key game issues as need be by the senate council.
Game Style -
  • Traditional Setup - This game will prominently feature an uninformed majority against an informed minority.
  • Closed Setup - No information about the setup of this game will be revealed in the game thread until the game has ended.
  • Closed Communication - Once this game has started, players will not be allowed to discuss it outside of the game thread or during Night phases, except as specifically dictated in individual Role PMs.
  • Restricting Claiming - This game will feature restrictions info-dumping. Please refer to the mechanic post that expands on these restrictions.
  • Day Start - This game will begin with a Day phase. Day 1 will exceptionally last 48 hours. At the end of each day, a vote count will be provided, however it may not reflect the actual vote value.
  • Plurality Lynch - The player with the most votes at the end of the Day phase will get lynched. In the event of a tie, one of the tied players will get lynched at random. No-lynch is an option.
  • Dusk Phase - In this game, each Day phase will officially end as soon as the 48/24 hours deadline is reached. A Dusk phase will be officially recognized, and allowed players may continue discussing in the game thread.
  • Phase Length - The game is divided into cycles. Each cycle consist of 2 phases, a day phase and a night phase. Each phase will last 24 hours, with the exception of D1. If you do not post or send an action within the time limit, I reserve the right to replace you.

GAME MECHANICS

Lightsaber Duels
Lightsaber wielders are ranked from Level 1 to Level 10. Game starts with lowest level rank being Level 5. But due to mechanics its bound to drop/rise.

An RPS system with a best of three scenario will determine the winner of the duel for closely ranked Levels.

Levels will be split into three closely ranked tiers.
  1. Low Tier: level 1-4
  2. Mid Tier: level 5-7
  3. High Tier: level 8-10
The duel is a confrontation between wielders to assume dominance and supremacy, therefore, rewards for winners and punishments for losers are determined by your level.

How Lightsaber Duels Trigger
During the dusk phase portion of the game, the players will use that window to submit their choices concerning duels for the night.

A player may choose to...
  1. I will accept the first duel challenge that occurs upon me.
  2. I will reject any duel challenge that occurs upon me.
If you choose the first choice, then you have the option to challenge another player of your choice to a duel. Submit that challenge in this format: Challenge X to a duel. You will have the whole dusk phase to make your choice. At the end of the dusk phase, your choice will be locked, meaning that you cannot change it anymore. If you do not make a choice, then the host will automatically choose the 2nd option for you. If you choose the 2nd option then you cannot challenge someone to a duel.

What happens if more than one person challenges me to a duel?
In the event that this occurs, only the first player to challenge you will have a duel with you. The rest will be told that there submission was too late and can change targets. It is possible that you can have 2 duels occur at once. Someone challenges you and you challenge someone else.

You will know whom you are dueling with each time but you will not find out right away who challenged you to a duel.

If you are in a duel, please make sure that you submit your R/P/S choices for all 3 rounds right away alongside your night actions in order to make the process go faster.

Wounds
Whoever loses a duel will get a wound. The severity of the wound will depend on the level of the wielder you duel.
  1. Low tiers deal minimal damage.
This is a minor wound. You have suffered a minor wound! Minor wounds do not cause the players receiving them to lose anything on their own. If a player receives 2 Minor wounds, then they will be vote locked on the first player they vote for in the next day phase.
  1. Mid tiers deal moderate damage.
This is a major wound. You have suffered a major wound! A major wound will not cause the player to lose anything right away, similar to a minor wound. However, if the player receives 2 major wounds then they will lose access to one random passive ability for one cycle and be vote silenced for the next day phase.
  1. High tiers deal severe damage.
This is a severe wound. You have suffered a severe wound! Receiving 1 severe wound will have the player be sent to the hospital ward and be post restricted to a maximum of 3 posts the next day phase.

You can only carry a given number of wounds for so long. If you suffer 4 Minor wounds, 2 major wounds, and 1 severe wound in the game, you will die.

Level Gain/Loss
A drop in half of skill discrepancy +1 for the top levels while the lower levels get upped half of their discrepancy. e.g Level 8 loses to Level 2, L8 becomes L6, and L2 becomes L5 etc. This severity in punishment/gain is to reflect experience gained.

Mid Tiers will suffer +1/-1 gain/loss respectively versus either High Tier, other Mid Tier, or Low Tier.

Low Tiers will not drop a level if they lose to another Low Tier.

If a High Tier wins a duel, they will get +1 ignore points for the next duel, but the level will stay intact. A High Tier can obtain a maximum of 2 ignore points at once. If they lose a duel, an ignore point will be used up and they won't suffer any wounds(but they still drop a level). If you are kicked out of High Tier and you have an ignore point, you will keep it to be used up again but can't get anymore until you go back to High Tier.

The outcome of this duel does not affect the original night actions that the targets had posted prior to the duel.

Galactic Senate Mechanics
Ater the end of each Day Phase, the game will progress into a Dusk Phase that lasts 12 hours long. The Senate will convene for a special session. Only members of the Senate will be allowed to post in the game thread during this phase. There are 8 starting members of the Senate.

During the dusk phase, a motion will be set forth. That motion will be presented to the thread through the host. The members of the senate may discuss and then will vote Yay or Nay; and then the motion with more votes is immediately passed into effect.

Limited Claim Mechanics
  1. There are 2 total game claim slots at the start of game. Any kind of info dump by a player will immediately trigger a claim slot. During the next two cycles, the player holding the slot may share all kind of info they see fit which include but isn't restricted to - character claim, flavor claim, ability claim, results...
  2. If the 2 initial claim slots are expended, 3 additional and similarly working claim slots will be made available at a price. The 3rd slot will cost the players voting power during the 2 cycles of usage. The 4th slot will cost the player his active ability usage (they will be blocked). The 5th slot will cost the player to lose all his ability during the 2 cycles. Any claim going over the hard cap (5th) will result in an immediate mod-kill.
  3. If a non-town player uses a claim slot during the game, it will be refunded upon their death.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, lay Korriban, ancient birthplace of the sith. Mother and core of darkness incarnate. Reduced to nothing but floating rubble in the vastness of the galaxy, the outermost, darkest, reaches of existence, still hid a dark vile secret. For even after millenia of warring, when the threat was thought destroyed, when the Jedi Order, sat at the highest point of authority, drunk in their ignorance and petty politics, forgot about the darkness.

There, in the long lost valley of the dark lords, emerges an ancient, familiar threat, the Sith. From the rubble, from destruction, silently, and swiftly, the darkness, driven by one, and only one verdict, vengeance, pauses to threaten the fragile Jedi facade, the balance in the force. For the Jedi, self proclaimed champions of peace, forgot, that wherever there is light, so does Darkness vastly spread.

There, still in the rubble, under gloomy skies wretched with lightning and storms, bloodied red as blood, up in mountains, upon what remained of the destroyed throne, overlooking the vastness of the bloody red planet, soaked in pure sith blood, sat yet again, a threat. A being clothed in pure darkness, with only bloodshot eyes in the silhouette, glowing brightly, as fierce as the sun, looked down upon a hoard of worshipers, far as the eye could see.

Roaring and vibrating through the force itself, the entity called upon its brethren; With a deafening crackling roar, he brought them to a sudden silence, and in an ancient and loathsome mystic tongue...

“We are the supreme power, unburdened, unchained from the constraints of law, lords of the dark side! We will kill every last Jedi, and build our empire from their blood, we will root deep, our darkness, to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. For We....We, from this collapsing world, will rise again, and claim our rightful place as the sole masters of the force across the galaxy."

The resounding deafening roars could be heard from galaxies far far away, where a Jedi master, clad in white, felt his conscious drop... gasping for breath, rattled to his very core, he let out a deaf murmur.

“Th.. there is unrest in the force, I feel, as If, a peerless evil is about to befall us. Why? Just why wont they die?”

But not everyone was threatened by this impending threat. Even amidst all this worry, unbeknownst to the galaxy, an opportunist, lay in wait to pounce on the rewards that the misery of war promised, the unhanded but luxurious exchange of services and information that the new threat promised. Such was the reality of this sick twisted fate that was about to befall the galaxy.

Hey everyone! Let's win this together! I'm so excited for this game tbh. If my activity drops at all towards the end of this dp, it is because I'm at work for fair warning to you all ahead of time, although I have the next two days off.

Wow Im very impressed with the level of effort thats been put into this set up, I was expecting to have just signed up to a random RM game.

I still havent wrapped my head round the whole set up, but the gist if we win a r/p/s we can inflict a wound onto another player with the level of damage being dependent on our skill level in comparison to theirs and then we level up/gain an ignore for the win right?

Im guessing with the sith being the sith, all lightsaber duels are gonna be pretty heavily tilted in their favour. Because of that, if someone manages to inflict a severe wound on someone especially if their character has a modicum of skill with a light saber it would be wise to use that as a point of suspicion against them. Its not set in stone and there are obviously powerful LS users on the town side, but it will be a point worth considering as we move further into the game.

Im not the most knowledgable on star wars, but I probably know enough to get by. On average, what percentage do you guys think a member of the senate would be on the mafia side? Do you think 1,2? I know of Palpatine but Im struggling to think of anyone else who could be in the Senate
