Shaarib, after erasing the festering behemoth's remains looked around for a moment, his piercing, red eyes taking in the darkness-shrouded surroundings. The spirits were invisible to Shaarib, but he could feel their pull, weaker ones all around him, but two strong ones right before him.
Shaarib stepped forward, taking in his bounty: Song Wuji. The corpse that Shaarib had flown through the night for, enslaved for what felt like an endless, cloudy night.
Now, though, the marine could look down at his prize, it was tangible now; the phoenix-man's goal was now literally within reach.
The words were getting louder as he approached the high priest. The vile energy in the air was consuming him. He fell on his knees and clutched his head. Shaarib could not hear anything else. Song Fuji was prying into his most profound complex, fears, doubts, and dreams.
The corruptive shell of magical energy surrounding the priest's corpses manifested first in Shaarib's subconscious then dredged them up into the forefront of the marine's mind. Dreams turned goals, ideas that could be made achievable through the use of Song Wuji's unique form of witchcraft; surely the techniques could be replicated...
- " What am I saying ?" said Shaarib panting
Pulling himself from the toxic flights of fancy that were beginning to overtake him, Shaarib shook himself loose from the dark grasp finding purchase in his heart, the grasp that the diabolical priest was inflicting from beyond the grave, seemingly. Invisible tendrils snapped from Shaarib and it seemed for a moment that the priest's corpse twitched in response to the sudden separation.

Vice-Admiral Hassan moved on a ways from Wuji's corpse and went to Yuki's charred remains, just as he had left her in the raging inferno of his attack. Her spirit was strong, almost rivalling the corrupted soul of the high priest, however it was still drowned from a distance from.
The closer Shaarib got, the lighter he felt; he had already found a sense of peace in his own goddess. Now Shaarib's peace-of-mind was being firmly fastened by this kind, glowing energy. Unlike the sad, angry, bitter, scared, mischievous spirits and souls lingering in this place; this one was different.
There was understanding in what was happening, in what had happened. A wordless thought of peace and love towards the man who had slayed her, it was as though the Vice-Marine was being embraced into a gentle hug, hardly felt. There was no fear to be felt, no sadness or shame. There was no anger or stress from the night. The sleepiness remained, but the inflicted burdens were lifted in this moment.
Yuki offered this favor to Shaarib in understanding that he was a good man with a good cause, she knew he would see an end to the suffering caused by Song Wuji.
He went on to do the same thing with Yuki and if it took more time than necessary or if the kid saw tears on the Vice-Admiral's face as he put the woman delicately in her coffin, nobody would speak about it.
Effortlessly and gently he lifted Yuki up and in that moment her hold on him came into full strength forcing quiet tears from his eyes. She had found her peace and was eager for Shaarib to find his, though he would need finish his own journey to see peace. Shaarib gave her a dignified coffin rather than her corpse resting in this secluded crypt that she was imprisoned in and as he shut the coffin the feeling faded, leaving a lingering sense of acceptance in the man, a sense of compassion for himself and others; Yuki's emotions overpowering those of the previous victims of these occult experiments being conducted.
She was gone now, or perhaps sealed in...But it was as though she merely waited long enough to grant Shaarib a sense of rest from his torment and to ease his guilt. Shaarib was left alone in the damp room, only the fettered corpse of his short-term rival waiting for him.

Behind him he heard shuffling, with a quick turn he noticed nothing but the corpse, exactly where it was left...
The shuffling continued though, not from Song Wuji's remains...But from around the room's corners. Dark clumps removed themselves from the wall and fell to the floor, dragging themselves to the center of the ground-level.
The scraping of bones and squishing of flesh became and louder and louder, bones from countless decayed bodies fell together in a horrifying amalgam. The pile grew and grew before Shaarib's eyes, and in mere moments there was a "body" formed, freakish in nature; full human forms creating the monstrosity's arms, a pile of corpses to move, a mound of skulls resting atop the construct... The monster slowly dragged itself forward towards the Vice-Admiral.

"Fufufufufufufufu...Honestly I'm a little disappointed. The lack of hospitality is astounding!" Cletus said sarcastically.
"Can't say that's by accident, kid. Azure City is my turf." Responded the fishman. "This ain't a playground for marines or pirates."
King Shark's smirk faded a bit. "I'm sending you back to your captain without your top-half, I hope he's alright with that."

"Fufufufufufufufufu!! Maybe once I would have considered this a waste of my time! But, something in me has changed. I don't want to leave before wiping that FILTHY grin off of your face!" Cletus shot back with an insane grin of his own. Let the games begin. Ready. Set. Go.
King Shark's body seemed to tense then relax before he let out a short chuckle. It seemed that Cletus' confidence impressed, or at least amused, the rival pirate crew's captain. "Let's see you try it, kid." The shark said confidently in a deep register, unfaltering in his position...Mostly.
His arms outstretched over top of the water's surface and he gripped onto it once more, this time however he seemed to pull the top of the ocean up like a sheet of fabric from a pile. The shark-man briefly moved his arms around to keep the ocean under his commands before:
Kairyu Ipponzeoi (literally meaning "Sea Current Lifter"): A technique used by the user performed after Mizugokoro. He heaves the current upward, where it erupts from the ocean surface as a towering stream of water.

With a violent heave upwards, King Shark sent a large geyser up to meet the tricky target in the sky. The cold ocean water roared out in a frenzy as it found itself unnaturally moving upward, the pounding noise approached Cletus rapidly; the sound of haki crackling like electricity from within the waves.
"Come on in, little firefly. The water's nice!" It seemed the pirate was unfazed by Cletus' threat, only moved to continue the fight further.

While most of the fishman crew waited for their captain's order to engage, it seemed the serpent was slowly spiraling upwards from the depths. The size became more and more imposing as the shadow grew on the water's surface. The sea-monster, perhaps driven by hunger or a need for vengeance... Seemed to be preparing itself to attack Cletus alongside its captain. As it moved upwards, a forgotten snail-phone unfortunately fell directly into the gaping maw of the monster, disappearing along with its muffled ringing.
It was apparent, even from this distance and the low-visibility from the thinning fog, that this seaking would be able to rip the Lunarian straight from the sky without an issue.
The sun was now fully risen and the morning was in full motion, with the (soon-to-be) dismissal of the fog... There would be only Cletus in the wide-open air, a target just waiting to be hit.
The feeding frenzy begins...

Shaarib was crying, it did not remember the last he did, but now tears were flooding. He was not sad, he wasn't angry anymore, he just felt all the weight on his shoulders levied. He was calm, content, and comforted. He never felt like this. He always had to bark at others, to clown them. First it was the odd looks the monks would give him in Skypiea. An abandoned baby nobody wanted, they never respected him. Then it was the Nun on Cross's island. They never liked his proximity to Hajib. He could feel the look of pity each time they saw the burn marks. Hajib, he trusted, he devoted himself to. But the man threw him away. He only got his respect when he saved the Marine from the Vampirates. But now, Yuki gave him comfort he only had with the 169th and even then, he never wanted to look before them. He was their leader. The Vice-Admiral needed to smoke. He looked in his pockets but did not saw one. He then remembered a little gift he received from Li An, a pack of cigarette hidden in his tunique. He opened it but a shuffling noise made him wait and turn.

The Dark Forces were relentless, it showed how long they stained the temple. Bones were coming from all directions. Shaarib was a player, he let them do their biddings. He lit his cigarette up and observed carefully. Quickly, the bones assembled and created a monster with humongous arms. The minster made of different human skeletons began to move forward at a slow speed. The Priest of the Goddess took one deep breath, completely burning most of his cigarette and exhaled an enormous cloud of smoke. It smelled like lavender, that woman had some taste. Ironically Shaarib began to smile.

- " Ain't you tired dear friend ?"

Why was he laughing, his rival had saw cry like a baby. He had to erase all proof of said moment. Blue fire came to life and spread around his left arm. The ground beneath them began to shake as the the fire around the arm turned black, and lighting crackled around the arm dangerously. Song Wuji had saw something like this happen previously. He dodged an attack slightly similar. Then SHaarib had wanted to show his mastery of Fishman Karate. Now, he was going to try something else entirely. Last time he used an attack that potent, his arm broke into pieces and the target, Bullet did not suffer a bit. Shaarib's arm was shaking furiously, he had to use his right hand to cover the excess of energy.

Although the festival was a failure, the Vice-Admiral learned something from Garp. He had made a mistake by wanting the energy to be focused on one precise point. He had to let go of it. Be an arm of pure destruction. One step, then two and Shaarib threw his hand in the wind, he would try to repeat Garp's feat. The old man had destroyed half of an Armada, Shaarib was going to compare where he stood. The spirit would be angry, but Shaarib was not letting Song Wuji survive again. He had underestimated the zombies and nearly died because of it. Goddess gave him another chance, he will not fail.

A search for an ancient temple, transformed into a fight between pirates. Cletus stayed afloat in the air, threatening the captain of the Leviathan Pirates; King Shark. The Fishman's body would tense for only a moment before relaxing.

"Let's see you try it, kid." He replied confidently, accepting the Lunarian's challenge head on. The pirate grabbed onto the surface of the water, pulling it like it was a piece of cloth before violently heaving it upwards towards Cletus' position. A geyser formed through sheer strength and boosted by the power of Haki. The might of a fishman! "Come on in, little firefly. The water's nice!"

The Vampirate kicked off the air again to stay afloat as the blast of water drew closer and closer. "So this is the power of a fishman!"
His smile did not falter. King Shark appeared to be stronger, especially in his natural element, however his strength wasn't lacking on his end! He kicked off the air propelling himself towards the attack with his right armed cocked. His body burst into flames, burning with vengeance intertwined with lunarian biology. An attack King Shark would have recognized from before. The Lunarian brought it forth with all of his might, punching the geyser head on!

"How about you come on out instead? I can send you flying like your friend!"

Ifrit's Comet: Cletus fully ignites his body and flies towards his target. He then delivers either a punch or kick to his opponent, setting their entire body ablaze and dealing great damage to them. He generates a grand amount of fire as a result.
Requirement: 91 Mastery 91 Strength
DPR:S Moderate Burn

Cletus DPR:101-119: 4. City Block Level+4 (DPR: S)+3 (Haki)= 11. Small Continent Level
King Shark's DPR=Strength (boosted in water): 6. City Level + Rank: B (+2 DPR) + Haki (+3 DPR) = Total: 11. Small Continent Level!!

Result=Equal DPR: Attacks cancel each other out, though the area around the clash may still take damage.
KABOOM!!! The combination of attacks resulted in a grand explosion of fire and water that lit up the sky and the surface of the sunken city! Cletus was sent soaring through the air before landing by his feet on the roof of another old building. "I can't hold back! Have to watch out for his friends too! Do I take them out one by one? I don't think im beating them in the water..."

Shaarib, after a moment of retrospection, unveiled the lavender-laced cigarettes that he had received from the book house's matron. Upon lighting it there was a noticeable shift in the air around him; as the thin stream of smoke arose, lingering spirits were purged away from the temple.
The Priest of the Goddess took one deep breath, completely burning most of his cigarette and exhaled an enormous cloud of smoke. It smelled like lavender, that woman had some taste. Ironically Shaarib began to smile.
As Shaarib released the concentrated cloud of lavender smoke, a collection of howls escaped from the unholy creation. Souls visibly seeped from the puppet and escaped from their prisoner. The monster was incapable of speech, but the eyes glowing bright atop the creation spoke volumes.
Song Wuji was stuck, his puppet currently decommissioned, the arms of his creation hardly able to move.
Blue fire came to life and spread around his left arm. The ground beneath them began to shake as the the fire around the arm turned black, and lighting crackled around the arm dangerously...

...Shaarib's arm was shaking furiously, he had to use his right hand to cover the excess of energy.

Song Wuji's own body flinched, desperate to get his monster to move. Energy poured from Shaarib, purging away all the lost souls and casting them into peace.
An enormous 'arm' began to lift... But the vice-admiral was too fast:
One step, then two and Shaarib threw his hand in the wind, he would try to repeat Garp's feat. The old man had destroyed half of an Armada, Shaarib was going to compare where he stood. The spirit would be angry, but Shaarib was not letting Song Wuji survive again. He had underestimated the zombies and nearly died because of it. Goddess gave him another chance, he will not fail.

The wretched construct angulated and shivered in anticipation, awaiting the impact with no way to prevent it. In a moment, scented with lavender, a violent explosion of colors erupted from the impact of the punch. A hideous choir of screeches were quickly drown out in a violently crackling shockwave that sundered the phoenix-man's opponent in a mere instant. The deafening shockwave pushed outward from the epicenter and blasted all things back, including its creator (Shaarib). Bone and brick fragments stirred up in a violent flurry of debris and the walls blasted outward.

The temple's structure howled as parts of the second story collapsed down atop the room. Stirred dust was mostly all one could see, but there was a juxtaposing calmness in the destruction; Song Wuji's influence was gone. His spirit had been vanquished.
The crisp morning air from the outside poured in over the debris, as did the sunlight onto the collapsed section of the temple.

King Shark watched with a confident grin as the water seemed ready to slam into and overtake the bothersome, flying pirate. A brow raised curiously as Cletus rushed down to meet the geyser head-on rather then an expected dodge.
"How about you come on out instead? I can send you flying like your friend!"
The sharkman went to respond to the threatening quip with one of his own but was cut off by the colossal explosion of steam and fire that erupted overhead. Other figures aside from King Shark froze, even the titanic sea king seemed caught off guard. The captain used this moment to leap from the water and pursue Cletus with a savage look in his dark, beady eyes.
Cletus was sent soaring through the air before landing by his feet on the roof of another old building. "I can't hold back! Have to watch out for his friends too! Do I take them out one by one? I don't think im beating them in the water..."
A heavy, foul breath (heavily perfumed with the stench of fish and seawater) fell from King Shark's maw as he landed down behind Cletus on the rooftop. The captain wasted no time and lunged at Cletus face first, multiple rows of jagged teeth locked onto him. The fishman's face and teeth glistened with a crackling mask of haki. A primal growl escaped from captain of the Leviathan Pirates as he closed in at an alarming speed. King Shark would attempt to remove Cletus' arm with his blade-sharp teeth if the Lunarian wasn't quick enough!

Song Wuji was stuck, his puppet currently decommissioned, the arms of his creation hardly able to move.
SHaarib was surprised, the cloud of smoke he exhaled had magical effects on Song Wuji's monster. Maybe it was the lavender or it was due to Li Ann. The woman seemed mysterious, the smoke paralyzed the monster and permitted SHaarib to unleash his attack with no hindrance. The Vice-Admiral did not think much about the situation, every advantage was good to take.

Shaarib flung his arm in the wind and released all the compressed energy. A shockwave blasted everything, strong enough to push everything outward. Shaarib was thrown backward and fell on his butt. The skeletons dispersed in the air, the fragile bones turned into dust. Some bones, Song Wuji's, he hoped, fell in front of him. Through all this, the Vice-Admiral still kept the butt of the cigarette in his mouth. He took it out and looked at it, impressed

- " You did good Buddy"

The temple's structure howled as parts of the second story collapsed down atop the room. Stirred dust was mostly all one could see, but there was a juxtaposing calmness in the destruction; Song Wuji's influence was gone. His spirit had been vanquished.
The crisp morning air from the outside poured in over the debris, as did the sunlight onto the collapsed section of the temple.
SHaarib had destroyed the temple once again, the second floor had collapsed on theirs. He could see the rumble that fell through the hole. The temple was destroyed but everything felt calm. The vile energy around them was gone. SHaarib felt a peace until he realized the room was illuminated by the sunlight. He had to go back to the city immediately. Behind him, still attached to his body, he had Yuki's coffin. Now he had to find proofs of Song WUji's deeds. He had to ask the kid for help, even though he had ruined the kid's home for the second time.

The Vice-Admiral got up, dusted himself, and began to look for Song Wuji's remains.

- "Kid ! I need to find Song Wuji's belongings ! I did what you asked me too, now ain't anybody preventing from moving where you want. I need to get to back to the city immediately. Then I shall beat that freaking Shark's ass !"

The temple, in the aftermath of Shaarib's destructive finishing blow to Song Wuji, creaked and moaned in the gentle rays of Azure City sunlight. Rubble from overhead, rained down in small collections of wallboards or flooring. All else was quiet, only Shaarib's own breathing met his ears now. All of the voices were gone now, no longer trapped into this place once corrupted by the high priest's accursed magics.
The Vice-Admiral got up, dusted himself, and began to look for Song Wuji's remains.
Dusty, fragile bones littered the destroyed crypt's stone floor all around him. These loose bones and ashes could have belonged to any number of these victims, it was hard for Shaarib to distinguish any differences amongst what remained of his battle. Shaarib looked around for a brief time more before calling out to the spirit that seemed intrinsically linked to the building:
- "Kid ! I need to find Song Wuji's belongings ! I did what you asked me too, now ain't anybody preventing from moving where you want. I need to get to back to the city immediately. Then I shall beat that freaking Shark's ass !"
Shaarib stood amongst the brutalized section of this ancient lair awaiting a response that was beginning to seem unlikely. Shaarib was met with an intentional silence from the spirit... but eventually her manifested form entered the collapsed room, hovering slightly above the ground (now free to enter this portion of her home). It was apparent by her sunken face she seemed displeased with the condition of the temple once more.
Niang-Niang gave Shaarib a cold look for a moment and glanced around at her home then released a small sigh of relief, relief in that at least the task was handled.
"Must you insist on carelessness?" She asked in a near-rhetorical fashion. "...Very well, Shaarib."
The spirit raised her hand and the bones of the high priest raised above the rest, the skull still holding onto the singed hair of the priest.
"You upheld your side of this agreement and for that, you have my gratitude. You may take as you wish from the wretch's remaining equipment and artifacts. Most have been removed from this place, however some remain."
She reached behind her back and revealed a wicked tome detailing the usage of human souls as weapons and conduits for greater spells. "Perhaps this though would be the most useful for your purposes..."

She allowed Shaarib to take whatever he wished and nodded to him in a mixed level of approval. "Thank you and good luck."
And with that, the phoenix had repaid his debt to the god... Freeing him of his burden and allowing him to return to the city.

Cletus had successfully managed to stop King Shark's attack. However, the Fish Man had no intentions of giving the lunarian even an inch of breathing room. He landed behind Cletus, his breath pungent with the scent of fish and sea water, a guttural growl escaped his throat before lunging at the Vampirate with two rows of haki coated teeth. With only seconds to spare before the Fish Man tore off his arm, Cletus engulfed his body in a thick, dense dome of fire enhanced by mix of Busoshoko Haki and Ryou....
Incendio Dome: Cletus creates a thick dome of fire that fully encases him and protects him from incoming attacks. It offers a greater defense than "Incendio sheild" in return for the inability to move it from its original position.
Requirements: 71 Mastery
DPR: A Touching the dome will inflict a Moderate Burn

Moderate burn: using the burned parts hurts and will cause slight extra damage each turn (D rank). lasts for 3-4 turns. Requires at least 51 mastery

King Shark's DPR: Strength: 5. Town Level + Rank: S (+4 DPR) + Haki (+3 DPR) = Total: 12. Large Continent Level!!
King Shark's attack is 3 DPR higher: Overwhelms the weaker attack but loses 2~DPR

Ifrit's Comet: Cletus fully ignites his body and flies towards his target. He then delivers either a punch or kick to his opponent, setting their entire body ablaze and dealing great damage to them. He generates a grand amount of fire as a result.

# Shaarib's trip was finally over, now he had to return to Azure City as fast as he could. He was already late for the meeting they were supposed to have. The birdman paid his dues, he had Song Wuji's remains, he had saved Yuki. Now he needed to meet with the Emperor and beg for forgiveness. It didn't sit well with the Vice-Admiral but helping the World Government get allies mattered more than Shaarib's pride. It was the only way to the Admiral's seat. Shaarib ran and jumped through the Hoel, changing immediately in the blue bird he was known for. He flew above the forest and began his trip to Chongqing. Then, he saw an enormous explosion of fire in the distance. He knew where it was, he already went there : The Sunken City. What was happening with fishmen ? Who was courageous enough to fight them ?

- "Ma, ma..." Shaarib let out a sigh, he needed to make a choice here and there. The Vice-Admiral took out his dial and contacted Hajib. Leaving him a voice note : " Tell Genjo to find Li An, she's the only one that have any proof of what happened in the Temple, tell Vlad to travel to where he found Genjo last night. The other proof will be there. I have something I need to see before I get back. A fight is happening in the Sunken City, I can't miss that ! " He shut the link with a little CLIK

The Vice-Admiral was going to spy on the Leviathan, maybe it was time to act on his promise. Shaarib flew to the Sunken City and was surprised to find what he saw. Here was King Shark fighting a Lunarian. The bird kept himself well above the fighters, he waited patiently. He was going to act soon. He just needed to wait for the scale to tip in ones favour. #

Distracted away from the very last leg of his journey, Shaarib left the bodies of the Yuki and Song Wuji for his allies to retrieve as evidence of his work on this island. The sudden signs of intense combat at the pirate hideout had peaked the marine's interest and after sending his grandfather a message, he took off high into the sky and headed for the clouds looming above the Sunken City.

Upon coming close enough to study the action, he found that a lunarian was locked into combat with the captain of the Leviathan Pirates, King Shark, atop the rooftop of a rundown, sunken temple. Blood and soot painted the ancient tiles beneath the two skirmishing pirates.

After surveying the situation, Shaarib elected to wait for either the lunarian or the fishman to overstep then he would make his move. Shaarib watched on as the battle continued...

King Shark pressed through and grabbed ahold of the pesky Lunarian with his mighty jaw, forcing himself through the roaring fire surrounding him as his opponent seemed to ignite the air. Cletus' blood coated the pirate captain's gruesome rows of teeth and stained his lips, before he has a chance to taste this rare blood, the winged man responded to the assault with a technique of his own. The shark's eyes were eerily rolled back in a controlled frenzy. At this close distance, Cletus could see the peeling flesh on King Shark starting to char and burn, but soon after his entire body coated with a thick layer of glistening armament haki.
Throwing his right arm back while coating his fist in ryou and hardening, he brought it forward aiming to deliver a flaming punch into the Fish Man's abdomen. "GET OFF OF ME! IFRIT'S COMET!!"
The shark's reflexes were jarring, instead of clashing with the attack however, King Shark met the blow with a punch of his own aimed at Cletus' abdomen in response. The Leviathan captain clenched his jaw down hard on Cletus's shoulder as the two punches met with their targets.
Yonsenmaigawara Seiken (四千枚瓦正拳 Yonsenmai-gawara Seiken?, literally meaning "Four Thousand Tile True Punch"): A much-stronger version of the Senmaigawara Seiken. It is a very powerful straight punch that sends the opponent bigger than the user flying backwards.(61 Mastery, 61 Strength) Destructive Potency Rank: A
Strength: 5. Town Level + Rank: A (+3 DPR) + Haki (+3 DPR) = Total: 11. Small Continent Level!!

Cletus DPR: 11. Small Continent Level!!
King Shark Durability: 8. Island Level + Haki (+2) = 10. Large Country Level!
Resulting Damage: 1. Wall/Tree Level...

Without even refocusing his eyes, upward curls appeared at the corners of the haki coated shark's lips. King Shark released Cletus arm with one last yank of his jaw then smugly licked his lips.
"DUNADUNADUNA!-" The fishman chortled, simultaneously releasing breaths of exhaustion all the while. "I bet that tail is delicious-"
