On an island most strange in the New World, a battle was going down. As strong winds billowed on the island, and peculiar, green-colored lightning blasted the island's soils repeatedly, one man found himself stumbling upon the home of a large Goblin settling. The powerful winds and deadly lightning, coming from dark clouds that brewed above the island, made it a hard situation to even move in. Hundreds strong, the Goblins did not take kindly to the man's trespassing. Standing close to one another in a powerful formation, the Goblins gnarled and salivated at the sight of the man. They spoke the human tongue, albeit with a significant lack of gramatical correctness.

YE DARE COME 'CROSS OUR LAND HUMAN?!

YER THE FIRS' IN MUCH TIME! YER KIND TRIED TO TAKE THIS LAND 'ERE FROM US, SO YER NOT WELCOME 'ERE!

One of the Goblins said, the others accompanying his words with their battle cries, banging their weapons and shields together. The man, wearing his signature red button-up coat, boots, and gloves, sighed. His spiky blond hair moved every now and then with the wind, and lightning blasts reflected off of his signature red-orange tinted circular-shaped shades.

Jeez, I get it I get it, I'm sorry... I didn't know this place was off limits.

I'll leave.

The man named Vash said. Unfortunately for him, things would not be so easy.

Ya think we're jus' gun' let ye leave?! How do we know ye ain't gonna cm' back with allies?!

LES' GO, MY WARRIORS!!!

The Goblin said, as they all charged.

Tsch... what a mess.

Vash said, reaching with both of his hands for the two guns holstered on his thighs. Dual-wielding, Vash aimed the guns at the charging horde of Goblins. A great battle ensued.

Uteki had arrived at her destination. A known Goblin-dominated land. She arrived with one goal in mind. To blow off some frustration at her lack of progress by killing some of the goblins. Why Goblins? Why not she would reply if asked such a question. However, when she got there, she would notice a man in a red coat already engaging the goblins in battle. Well, shit. Someone else had the same idea? Guess I'll wait for him to finish and then pick a fight with him instead. With that in mind, she would be standing above the battlefield. On a thin platform of blood that would be almost impossible to see from ground level.

Watching the battle, some of her peach-colored hair would fall in front of her red-rimmed glasses. She moved her hair aside and as she continued to watch the fight she grew bored of watching. So she decided to speed things along. Around 20 of the Goblins start to go after their comrades. The startled goblins are unable to defend in time and begin to drop like flies. The goblins who manage to gather themselves and defend soon find themselves fighting their own instead of against the human intruder. A few begin to wonder if this is the human man's doing. However, before they could question it further, Uteki descends onto the battlefield. A devilish smirk on her face, she speaks to both the goblins and Vash.

"These guys are under my control now. Let's see how much stronger these fodder can be when their lacking intelligence is removed from the equation!"

Three of the enthralled goblins rush Vash. One of the three who was lagging behind shoved another in front of him directly at Vash. Using his comrade as a shield his spiked club is aimed at Vash's stomach. In tandem, the remaining of the three uses this frontal assault as a distraction and aims to sneak behind with his knife and stab it into Vash's liver. All the while, Uteki is enjoying herself. A small cackle of sorts escapes her lips when one of the three goblins is used as a shield. It's clear she either doesn't value life at all, or at least that she doesn't value goblin life. The correct answer was the latter, but it would be impossible to tell at this point.

The Goblims, mad at the trespasser named Vash, proclaimed bloodthirstily that he would not be allowed to just leave, and charged. Having pulled two guns out of the holsters on his thighs, Vash bent his knees, crossed the two guns in front of his chest, and then pushed off. Dashing forward, Vash intended to engage the charging group of Goblins directly. Appearing in front of one of the Goblins with great speed, Vash spun around and then extended his right arm, slamming the butt of the gun into the Goblin's chin.

Gunslam!

Gunslam: While holding a gun in his hand, Vash strikes the target with the bottom - barrel - part of the gun. Depending on how much strength he puts behind the attack, Vash can be as tame as to knock a person out, or as outrageous as to destroy an entire city wall. Rank: C-S+

DPR: 81-100: 5. Large Building Level + C:+1 = 101-119: 6. City Block Level

Vash said as the Goblin was sent flying into three others, sending the four of them packing. Vash's spin ended up with him facing three more Goblins, whom he shot at with his two guns, hitting them with great precision and bringing them down as well (3 C-rank bullets). At that point, Vash found himself surrounded by a good ten or so Goblins, all banging their weapons, ready to bring them upon the trespasser.

I really didn't want to do this, you green lot...

Vash said. As he was speaking, he changed the ammunition of the two guns, and then fired multiple times with blistering speed. The bullets (12 B-rank bullets) were shot in rapid succession, but with astounding precision. However, they were not shot directly at the Goblins. Some of the bullets were shot at the ground, others at the Goblins' weapons, and some bullets were even shot at the bullets fired just ahead of them. In a sequence that seemed infinitely complex, and yet occurred in a matter of instants, the bullets that were shot all ricocheted off of surfaces, changed their trajectories and then hit their marks, bringing the Goblins that surrounded Vash down all at once.

Multishot...!

Multishot: When dual-wielding two guns, Vash rapidly shoots as many as a dozen bullets. By timing his shots perfectly, some of the latter-fired bullets can even hit some of the first-fired ones, redirecting them into a complicated shot that can hit a target from multiple directions, or hit multiple targets at the same time. Due to the complexity and the timing of these shots, this is a technique that only the best gunslingers can perform.

DPR: 120: 7. Town Level + B:+2 = 9. Mountain Level

It was at that point that some of the Goblins started to fight among themselves, and a young lady descended from the sky, announcing her presence. She claimed that some of the Goblins were now under her control, and then directed three of them at Vash. Before Vash could say anything, the thee Goblins rushed him, one of them pushing another at Vash like a meatshield, while he circled around Vash and aimed to stab him from behind. However, as the Goblin arrived behind Vash, and the two Goblins attacked simultaneously from the front and the back, Vash jumped up, avoiding their attacks and causing them to clash with one another. Vash's feet then transformed into what looked like blue fiery talons, and he descended down onto the two Goblins. His talons slammed onto the two Goblins' heads from above and drove their faces straight down into the ground with significant force. Vash then backflipped and landed a few meters away.

Phew, that was close. Who are you?

Vash said, looking at the young lady while ignoring the Goblins.

Uteki watched on as her first three goblin thralls fell to the strange man wearing a red coat. She was a bit frustrated. Even if the goblins' specs were pathetically low, she thought with herself controlling their movements and thinking for them, they'd put up more of a fight. Still, I doubt the man was able to predict what happened next. The goblins, all three, would rise and assume a standing position. They were no doubt dead, but she was still controlling their blood from within their bodies. At least for a short time. The risen goblins resumed their attack. Uteki though would at least respond to the man's question.

"It's polite to introduce yourself before asking for someone else's name. Mr...?"

The zombie goblins would attack in a similar fashion to before. With one key difference. The one who acted as a meat shield earlier would now be suddenly launched forward. Without being shoved in the way by its comrade. Its comrade would instead slice its launched ally to pieces. Each piece would lock onto the red coat man and aim to cause him discomfort. I mean, who wants to get it with severed goblin bits? The remaining 17 goblins under her control would begin advancing on the man at this point. Uteki was getting a feel for things and felt like upping the number of goblins she was moving at the same time.

Vash's complex gunslinging sequence disposed of a number of Goblins. With the attackers down, Vash turned to the woman and asked who she was. The woman, losing no time, took control of the now dead Goblins, seemingly just about bringing them back to life as remote-controlled zombie Goblins. Vash whistled, as if impressed by her abilities.

Yep, definitely her doing...

Vash said to himself as the woman asked his name.

Oh, right, the name's Vash...

Vash said as the Goblins once again charged him. This time, an even stranger sequence occurred. One of the Goblins was launched at Vash by an invisible force, its body chopped to bits by a second Goblin, and then those fleshy bits were fired toward Vash. A few moments before any of those things occurred, Vash whispered something rather peculiar as the eyes behind his glasses glowed red briefly.

Jeez, that's disgusting.

Vash said. Little did the woman know, Vash was able to see a few moments into the future, due to his exceptional, world-class mastery of Kenbun-shoku no Haki. He saw what was about to happen, and was ready. Simultaneously, he changed the ammunition of his guns again as blue flames enveloped his whole body. Pushing off of the ground, Vash jumped up into the air, avoiding the fleshy bits while at the same time firing three bullets down at the crowd of Goblins. The bullets erupted and sprayed oil everywhere. Vash then followed up by firing another six bullets. These hit some of the Goblins and erupted into fire. The fire quickly spread across the oil-drenched area, engulfing all of the Goblins in a scorching blaze. Vash, at that point still in the air, started to fall back down toward the inferno. He landed inside the flames. A few seconds later, the silhouette of a bird could be seen inside the fire. With a flap of its wings, the bird scattered the inferno, blowing it away. What was left, were all of the Goblins burned to the ground, and a mighty Phoenix standing in the middle of them all. The Phoenix spoke, its bird eyes glaring at the woman.

Any reason why you're attacking me?

Vash asked, revealing that he was aware of the woman's involvement in the Goblins' strange movements.

As she unleashed Goblin Assault Wave The Second, a name she had coined on the spot, she was once again met with disappointment. It seemed like the man she was fighting was skilled at Mantra. He dodged those attacks like he knew they were coming at least. She let out a sigh. Especially after she saw him retaliate with a wave of fire. The man in addition to his incredible Mantra, had a powerful Zoan ability to boot. These fodder goblins would do nothing to him no matter how hard she tried or how long she had to plan. Any goblins that had managed to survive the inferno would meet a gruesome end by her hands. With a flick of her wrist their bodies would be twisted and broken from the inside out.

"Uteki."

She was tempted to start fighting right away, but she got after him for his manners earlier. So she would also respond to his question asking why he was being attacked.

"I'm just looking for a way to blow off some steam and kill some time. Don't take it personally."

All of the goblin attacks had been rather slow. So she wanted to get a feel for the man's reflexes. She held out her finger and set out three blood bullets. Each aimed to hit him depending on how he dodged. One for left, one for right, and one if he did not move at all. For some reason, up and down were left open. Despite her having seen him with wings. She left herself smiling.

Red Bullet- Uteki fires a fast, highly pressurized bullet formed from her blood. Can be enabled to be shot in a rapid-fire style. Despite its name, it is most effective at mid-range. Rather than long-range. (51 Mastery, 51 Strength | B-Rank)

The Phoenix stood amid the lingering fires, its wings spread far apart. It listened to the woman, who gave her name, and said she had some steam to blow off. The blue flames of the Phoenix suddenly started to scatter, leading Vash to transform back into his Human form. However, not completely.

His arms remained transformed into a set of wings, and his feet remained transformed into talons. A Human-Phoenix Hybrid Form. His guns were once again holstered on his thighs, having likely holstered them earlier prior to transforming into a Phoenix. Looking at Uteki, Vash smiled and spoke.

That's fair enough, I guess I'll help you out then.

Vash said, referring to helping Uteki blow off some steam by entertaining a fight with her. The whole thing seemed quite nonchalant - two people fighting for the sake of entertainment, though no one knew how serious it could get. When Uteki elevated her arm and pointed her finger at Vash, he was ready. Three bullets were fired at Vash, despite the fact that there was no firearm to be seen. A special ability.

Vash flapped his wings, propelling himself up into the air with great speed and avoiding the bullets in the process. Once up in the air, Vash spun around once and kicked out with his right leg. The sharp talon unleashed a powerful flying slash, which aimed to descend down onto Uteki with great might.

Uteki's bullets are dodged when the bird man takes to the skies. Exactly like she assumed he would. After dodging her attack he countered with one of his own. She kicked off the ground and activated her Accel Form. Temporarily speeding up her body. Based what she observed while he was fighting the goblins, she determined this action to be necessary in order to avoid it without the risk of a glancing blow. As she evaded the blow, with a raise of her hand a large red blade is formed in the sky. The blade descends at a diagonal angle towards the bird man.

Upon contact with the bird man or the ground, the blade will burst. She drew her blade from its sheath. Though it was mostly for show. The blade wasn't technically a blade but one she formed with her own abilities. It was as sharp as the best of them thanks to her high level of mastery and the care she took in forming it. She wanted to blow off some steam, but this was quickly escalating into something far beyond that. Based on everything she knew so far. She would still test herself to her limits though.

Ragnarok- A massive sword of blood is formed in the air above Uteki and launched downwards at an angle. Upon impact, the sword bursts and sends a violent spray of condensed blood shrapnel in every direction. (71 Mastery, 71 Strength | A-Rank, AoE)

Up in the air, Vash, who was transformed into a Human-Phoenix Hybrid Form, kicked with his right leg. The sharp talon that cut through the air unleashed a powerful flying slash that descended down toward Uteki. However, Uteki managed to get out of the way by somehow increasing her speed. She then gathered a large amount of blood high up in the air, even higher up than where Vash was, and fashioned it into a large blade.

That's an interesting power... she can make just about anything, I guess?

Vash said to himself as he observed the large blade descend down toward him. Flapping his wings, he ascended up toward the large blade, aiming to meet it head on. Just as he was about to collide with the large blade, Vash spun around and then kicked with his right leg. His talon, imbued with black Busou-shoku no Haki, collided with the tip of the blade. The clash lasted momentarily, before the talon suddenly crushed the blade.

Talon Crush...!

Talon Crush: By transforming his feet into talons and grabbing something - either an item or a person's limb - with the sharp talons, Vash can proceed to crush it with heavy might. Rank: A

Upon crushing the large blade, it exploded into a rain of shrapnel, showering Vash. Due to Vash's incredible durability, as well as a layer of invisible Busou-shoku no Haki shielding his body, the damage done to him was minimal.

With Uteki's attack dealt with, and only minor damage inflicted on Vash, he descended with a flap of his wings. As he landed, he wrapped himself with his wings. The wings then dispersed, showing Vash once again in his human form, but with all of his injuries gone.

The birdman had landed. Having dealt with her Ragnarok. What little damage he suffered from it was already healing. She wondering what his powers were. Zoans should not normally be granted extra abilities like that. Unless he was a Mythical Class. If so, she was definitely in for it. Well, it meant she could let lose without restraint too, so there was that. Raising the blade gripped in her hand up some, she poses a question to the man after giving a response to his own.

"If I told you that wouldn't be any fun. I'm sure you can figure things out as our fight progresses. You are a Mythical Zoan user after all. You should have a grasp of abilities. What say we take this into a close quarters battle? Or is this ranged battle more interesting for you?"

Contending with a Zoan user in close quarters wasn't the smartest plan, but she needed to improve her swordsmanship by battling tough opponents. This was a rare opportunity to do so without it being a life or death thing.

"If I recall correctly, you used one of these on me earlier, right?"

She sent out her strongest Kogetsu, a flying slash. It was in a diagonal shape to give it an increased chance to hit pending a dodge. Even though her attacks shouldn't yet warrant a dodge. As she had a trick up her sleeve she was saving for a bit later into the fight.

Third of the Forms: Kogetsu- A flying slash/thrust that travels in an arc mimicking a crescent moon. Vibrations accompany it and make it more deadly than it appears to be. | 91-100 Mastery: Destructive Potency: S + 81 Str= 9 DPR (I may be wrong)

Despite Vash's asking about Uteki's interesting abilities, she did not want to reveal her cards. In turn, she had already surmised that he was a Mythological Zoan-type, which caused Vash to crack a smile. She was good. A Devil Fruit user that was capable of creating structures and controlling others. A martial artist that was able to create flying slashes. A seasoned warrior that was able to recognize her opponent's powers for what they were. She had it all.

When she attacked, unleashing a flying slash, Vash was ready. He pushed off of the ground and dashed toward the attack. He sidestepped it, letting it blow past him. At that moment, he accelerated and appeared in front of Uteki. With his right arm extended forward, the finger on the trigger of the gun that he was holding, Vash shot.

A powerful bullet (A-rank) was shot out from the barrel of the gun in what was essentially a point-blank attack, the gun mere inches away from Uteki's chest. Black Busou-shoku no Haki clad the bullet, shielding it from clash and recoil, while enhancing it with great power. Behind Vash's signature glasses, his eyes glowed red for a moment, though what that signaled, Uteki could only speculate. The fight was on, and the gunslinger came up close and personal.

The moment she saw Vash charged towards her, she began preparing for his attack. She coated her body in haki and formed a double layered Spiral Shield in front of her. Just as she finished forming the second shield she heard a gunshot. Her eyes managed to see Vash close the distance but she found herself struggling to keep up. She was right to prepare in advance.

The bullet was fired. It broke through her spiral shields thanks to the haki surrounding it and since her own haki was weaker than his, it pierced her enhanced skin as well. She had hardened her blood the moment she felt it pierce her skin though, her goal was to encase it within her blood and prevent it from doing further damage. Still, he was fast and had no qualms using firearms at close range. She needed something to increase her odds. She sighed. It was going to have to be that.

She activated her trump card. Origin of the Forms: Kubomi. Her eyes glowed faintly red and she was filled her power. Having cleared her mind to enter a state of extreme and heightened focus. While in this state she attacked right away. Sleight of hand hid the initial movement of her strike. And she aimed to slash at Vash's torso like he had aimed his attack at hers. She didn't have long in this state and needed to make the most of it.

Spiral Shield- A rapidly spinning shield of blood is formed in the desired location. The spinning shield is designed to intercept attacks and can be layered to enhance its defensive capabilities. (71 Mastery)

Origin of the Forms: Kubomi- The user clears their mind and enters a state of extreme and heightened focus. Removing the limiters the mind places on the body and bringing out its latent potential for a short time. +1 DPR to any attack at S Rank or below for 2 turns. Has a 4 turn cooldown if used with any S Rank techniques and a 3 turn cooldown if only used with A-Rank and below. If it is used 3 times during one fight/island the user will become fatigued.

First of the Forms: Kagero- A tricky slash/thrust using sleight of hand and misdirection to hide the initial motion of the swing. Causing enemies to mistime their response.
Requirements: 41 Mastery, 41 Strength, 41 Reaction Speed.
81-100 Mastery: Destructive Potency: S

Rushing full speed toward Uteki, Vash appeared in front of her, his right arm extended forward, finger on the trigger. However, Uteki had put up a multi-layered shield. Pulling the trigger, Vash fired at the shield. The power behind the bullet, the black Busou-shoku no Haki coursing through it, and Vash's ability to fire at weak spots, allowed his bullet to shatter the shield and rip into Uteki. Luckily for Uteki, the bullet had lost much of its power from its clash with the shield, and so it did not reach very deep. At that moment, behind his signature red-orange tinted circular-shaped shades, Vash's eyes glowed red for a moment, much like they did earlier. He was able to see into the future. He saw through Uteki's sleight of hand. What she was going for became very evident to the Oracle-esque gunslinger. When the sword came, Vash, in one quick motion, discarded the gun in his left hand and caught Uteki's blade. Black Busou-shoku no Haki coursed through Vash's hand, and blue flames clad the hand all at the same time.

Despite Vash's black Busou-shoku no Haki, the palm of his left hand was cut very deeply. The severe injury started to regenerate quickly as it basked in the blue flames surrounding the hand, but it would take at least a couple of more seconds for the hand to heal completely. However, Vash's immense durability allowed him to power through and counterattack. With both his strength and speed now significantly greater than Uteki's, and his ability to see into the future activating once more, this time in an attempt to increase his chances of landing an attack successfully, Vash's right knee rose upward and his right leg then rammed forward in the form of a front kick. His feet had transformed into blue fiery talons, clad with black Busou-shoku no Haki, aiming to plow into Uteki's stomach and send her flying. If successful, Vash would let go of Uteki's sword, letting her keep it.

Uteki's attack hadn't hit her intended target, but it still had hit. Not that it mattered much. His wounds were rapidly healing. That, coupled with the fact that Kubomi was ending soon, she wasn't going to make any progress after this. She would go out with a bang and then thank Vash for assisting her in venting her frustrations. Even if it was his fault her original plan fell through. With her blade caught, she immediately let it go and formed a new one out of blood. Just in time too, as Vash prepared a kick. She coated her body in haki to defend and moved her newly created blade to intercept. It too, coated in black haki.

She moves the blade to position it to block the kick. Or at least take some of the oomph out of it. Her quickly made blade shattered. Doing what she intended it to do. She is then kicked by the talons of the bird man Vash. She is sent flying back but not before the area she and Vash were fighting in gets surrounding by 12 red butterflies. They were made of blood and would threaten to attack Vash if he decided to move or if Uteki willed it. The impact of the kick having been over with, Uteki looks up at Vash. There was a lot of blood around her stomach area, but she didn't seem to be too worse for wear. She had no issues when it came to blood lose. As she was blood itself.

She forms another blade made from blood to prepare for one last attack. Kubomi was fading and so was her frustration. This had been fun, even if it was one-sided. She unleashes her strongest Kogetsu. Imbuing it with invisible haki to maximize the damage it could do. All while sending the butterflies she had created earlier after him. She swings her blade and the Kogetsu flying slash is launched. Her blade shatters, but again, it served its purpose. It was the vessel she needed to launch Kogetsu. With Kogetsu launched, the glow in her eyes faded. Kubomi was over and it would be some time before she could use it again.

"Man, I hope the nearby town has a good tailor. I may be mostly fine, but I can't say the same for this shirt. Oh, I know it's kind of an ass move to launch an attack like that and then be all 'I quit!' so if you want to launch any last attacks of your own, that's okay. As for me, I've had my fun for now. So you don't have to continue any longer."

Dancing Butterflies- A large number of butterflies formed out of blood are scattered around the field. In conjunction with her Mantra, these butterflies will seek out enemies within her Mantra's range if she desires them to, and detonate. If she does not direct them they will explode when an enemy gets too close to them. (81 Mastery, 81 Mantra | A-Rank if Single Hit, S-Rank if Multi-Hit)

Construct- She creates one or more things out of the blood. Their shape is only limited by her imagination. Most common are various weapons. The strength and durability of her constructs depend on the amount of effort put into making them and can reach a certain point based on how high her DF mastery is. (Basic Constructs: 61 Mastery | Advanced Constructs: 81 Mastery)

Third of the Forms: Kogetsu- A flying slash/thrust that travels in an arc mimicking a crescent moon. Vibrations accompany it and make it more deadly than it appears to be.
Requirements: 51 Mastery, 51 Strength

Vash's talon ripped into Uteki's stomach, blowing her away with great force. When Uteki was blown away, a number of red butterflies surrounded Vash from all sides and stayed there, almost as if to tell him not to move, or something bad would happen. When Uteki skid to a stop and formed a new blade, Vash's eyes glowed red once again, peering into the future.

I see... well, I guess I can tank that...

Vash said, knowing what was about to occur. When Uteki swung her blade and unleashed a flying slash, Vash kicked with his right leg, using his talon to unleash a flying slash just as strong. He didn't want to overpower Uteki's, so as to not put her in further danger, and so he did not imbue the flying slash with Busou-shoku no Haki. The two flying slashes collided in a powerful clash, each gnawing at the other until they both disappeared. As for Vash, he looked at the butterflies around him and smiled.

Well? Do your best.

Due to his Future Sight, Vash knew the butterflies would explode, because he had moved. The butterflies suddenly erupted, engulfing Vash. When the obscurity cleared, Vash was seen standing there, wrapped in his wings of fire. Black Busou-shoku no Haki was seen fading from the rest of his body.

As the wings of fire faded, so did Vash's injuries. The injury on the hand remained, due to how severe it was, and so the blue flames remained on the hand as well. At this point, it would only be a few more seconds, and Vash would be as good as new. He knew how ridiculous his healing ability could look to an opponent, so he awkwardly rubbed the back of his head with his other, uninjured hand, smiling awkwardly.

Ahhh damn, you're good!

Vash said, giving the opponent that had been trying to kill him, a thumbs up. A nonchalant man that didn't take things seriously, Vash was certainly a strange one. Little did Uteki know, his charisma would soon lead her to join his crew.
