Valkyrie Island
Valkyrie Island is a Sky Island in the West Blue. It is populated by winged women, making it a sky version of Amazon Lily. The women on Valkyrie Island are appropriately named Valkyries. They pride themselves on the fact that they run a highly advanced society compared to other Sky Islands. They do not rely on sky technology such as Dials, but rather on technology from the blues. Why that is, is a mystery, though one could speculate it is because they might originate from the blues from thousands of years ago. Due to their isolated nature, they are not welcoming of outsiders, and will often capture and imprison any trespassers. However, due to the high standards of their society, they will then bring those prisoners to their Sky Court and give them a fair trial.

While sailing on the blue sea, Viktor stares at the water.

*I think I'm close*

The skypeian thinks. Suddenly, His ship is sprung into the air by a knock-up stream.
As the navy ship rapidly files upward, Viktor holds on for dear life. After what felt like hours, the ship started to fall, eventually landing on the Sky Island.

The knock-up stream. An effective method for climbing a sky island and perhaps the only one besides flight. But given that fact, those who live on those islands have come to expect people arriving through it. Viktor's ship would eventually land on the white sea, a harsh landing forcing his ship to let out a croak. But surprisingly it held on, although some bolts here and there would've taken a bit of punishment.

Whatever Viktor's reasons for coming here were he'd have to make swift decisions and actions. For he was already surrounded.

His ship had landed on a singular streak of white cloud sea, more of a lake than a sea if one paid attention to detail. But between this lake was solid ground. On his left and right a lush green field covered the lands with a few trees here and there but with the setting sun and pure blue sky. It showed a view that one would pay to see.

Unfortunately, however, that view was already sullied to some extent. On either of the grass fields, 25 winged warriors stood, donned with metal armour and a set of spears and shields. One of them stepped forward, slamming her shield on the ground.

"You're surrounded. State your reasons for being here. Marine." The woman said, stoic and cold.

The other warriors behind her and on the opposite side began to raise their spears. They were awaiting the order to fling them into Viktor's ship.

"We can do this the hard way or the easy way. But no one arrives here. Especially no man."

She continued, waiting for Viktor's response. Giving him just that, a singular response and perhaps an action. It was up to the young marine to decide what to do. But on each flank, he found 25 Valkyrie warriors and all of them were female.

Just what was this place?

If you want me to coach you during this, let me know. Seeing as you're pretty new to this.

Viktor looked at the Valkyrie, his eyes scanning over each worrier. "I'm here for a fight," he says nonchalantly. "Mind bringing to your strongest worriers?" He crosses his arms as he begins to smile. * I can tell already this will be good training and lots of fun. I wonder if they have any good food for after I beat them.*

There wasn't any warning. By the time Viktor announced he was here for a fight from either flank 10 spears were thrown with deadly precision and strength, twenty in total. From those twenty ten would go straight to the marine himself, aiming to pierce him almost completely. The other ten would go to the ship itself, trying to destroy the ship. Or at the very least keep it from moving forward. From the fifty Valkyries in total 30 would jump on the navy vessel, attempting to board it and eventually hijack it.

"To arms!"

One of them shouted as they all lept up into the air, spears and shields drawn. The Valkyries trying to overwhelm Viktor with sheer amount of numbers.

A bold decision to announce yourself this way on an island that has secluded itself for centuries. But the consequences were for Viktor to endure.

A grin appears on his face as he grabs one of his swords. His body moves swiftly to dodge the spears he can and to slice the ones he can't. "nice strategy but you're not going to land a hit on me"

Viktor defended himself by slicing and dodging through the spears that came his way. The spears that went for the ship, however, he seemingly didn't respond to or figured he couldn't do anything against. The ship waned against the punishment it was receiving, wood cracked and punctured in several places on the hull of his ship. Nothing too threatening but if this would continue eventually the ship would topple and sink. But for now, Viktor could focus on the 30 Valkyries that had landed on the ship itself.

The marine drew his sword and launched a brutally focused air blade towards the group. Deadly and terrifying. Ten of the 30 Valkyries would be swept up by this air blade, blood flew up as their armour cracked beneath the power. The other twenty, at the very same time, rushed Viktor dead on. Quickly Viktor would be surrounded by all sides as the twenty female warriors encircled him, trapping him from running away. If he ever even considered that to be an option. From this encirclement, five warriors would dash towards the marine, one after the other they'd move up to Viktor and slash him before moving away. This would result in a very complicated attacking pattern for when one strike was delivered another Warrior would be right on the heels of the first one, delivering yet another strike from a completely different location.

Viktor would have to deal with strikes and stabs coming from essentially every direction possible.

I'd suggest to give just a little bit more detail to what your character is doing. Like the ship, you never mentioned what your character's thoughts or feelings or even actions about it are. So a GM can only assume that your PC doesn't really care and it effectively grants an auto hit of some sort. Even if its Viktor's intention to let it be harmed you should honestly emphasize it.

Also for combat, do try and specify what and how you're doing. The air blade goes it go vertically, or horizontally. How many are you trying to take out with the attack? Again if you don't specify a GM or host has to assume what your intentions are which can be favourable or completely something you didn't expect. I could've easily said that your blade only caught one and defeated it, leaving you with 29 warriors to attack.

But seeing as you're very new to this I'm not going to be super strict with this. But do keep these things in mind going forward, eventually there will be a situation when things aren't clear and assumptions will have to be taken that have a negative outcome for your character.

Oh, and you don't need to post your stats in every post. The first one is fine.

Also, don't take this the wrong way. Just trying to help.

Viktor smirked as he watched ten valkyries fly away. Quickly, that smirk disappeared as he looked around. He sees himself surrounded *Damn, I used too much energy!* he thought as they got closer and closer. *This is getting too risky. An onigiri could work, but they could dodge, or someone strong could come and finish me while I'm exhausted.* Viktor moves swiftly like the wind. His body twists and turns like a whirlwind. He attempted to get into the position to perform the onigiri but couldn't find the opportunity. Again, he'd attempted to use the attack, but this resulted in two spears piercing his ribcage and right wing. His eyes widen as he releases he was hit. He dropped his sword and clutched the spear in his ribs. "s-shit! I was careless!" he said out loud.

Thank you for your advice. I hope that this post is an improvement 😅

With experience Viktor moved and weaved through the Valkyries, dodging and parrying the rogue strikes that had made their way towards him. An attempt was made for an Onigiri but he was too surrounded and to make matters worse two spears hit his ribcage. Luckily, the young man's durability was far higher than he realized. Only a short section of the spear would dig in and draw blood. All that training seemed to have paid off. But whether it was due to shock or clumsiness, he dropped the sword in his hand. Surrounded and currently weaponless it seemed outright hopeless for the young marine.

"Oi, fletchling. Flex those muscles ya dumb dumb."

A voice said, with a sharp pitch. It came from below and sitting on the deck near Viktor was what looked like a good luck cat that suddenly started to talk. There wasn't much time to let this sudden development dwell as the Valkyries had smelled blood and kept on the pressure. Viktor had strength. Raw physical power he still hadn't tapped in yet, something he could pull off by rotating without even holding a sword.

This was the perfect moment for a whirlwind.

For now the marine ship was holding out the rain of spear throws.

Much better!

An overview of some basic stuff you do need to keep in mind when doing rp in general. At least when it comes to stuff here especially since you're very new to this thing. Which is no shame we all did this at one point. Hell I did it for perhaps 3 years until someone pointed it out to me and I started paying attention.

1. Content threads work with a give-and-take kind of system. The more you write down, your character's feelings, what's happening, their goals, and motivations. The more fuel your host or GM has to work with and craft something around it without thinking we're going through the motions. Especially writing down a line or two doesn't feed the give-and-take system very well. And a lot of stuff is left for interpretation and ambiguity. Which is something you should very much try to limit as much as possible. There is a time and place though for it but that comes with experience no need to wrap your head around that at this moment.

This also doesn't mean you have to write walls of text though, condensed and to-the-point short stuff also is great.

2. Keep your statistics as a guideline. Especially if you're trying to get your bearings with RP-based combat. What you're fighting right now are fodder characters even their basic attacks in a system sense can hardly injure you. That's why they're trying to overwhelm you with numbers. To make up for that lack of raw power. Viktor got 45 in durability in essence these spears would hardly draw blood and to be real frank he'd be able to dodge nearly all of the attacks. His reaction speed vs their attacking speed(Martial art stat) is vastly above it. And that's not even taking the mantra into account.

3. This is somewhat of a personal preference and certainly not everyone does this. But that's following the DnD combat flow. In laymen terms comes down to 1. movement action 2. attacking/defending the action and 3. bonus action(if necessary). They don't necessarily follow that order but it'll eventually turn into a decent combat flow that you can master and put your twist on it.

Movement -> self-explanatory can be trying to run away, dodging an attack or whatever else you can come up with

Attacking action -> Swordstrike, punch, haki, devil fruit throwing a brick. The core of combat

Bonus action -> a set-up that flows into the next post. A wind-up attack that needs to be charged, drinking a potion to heal or boost and reloading if you're holding weapons.

In between those actions you can fill in the blanks however you want. Talking, thoughts etc etc.

4. And finally, try and check what other people are doing. Take what you think is a cool way to RP and influence your style from it. Your first PC is part of a pirate crew, check their posts and well learn from it. Discover how they're playing this game.

And the obvious, don't forget to enjoy it :D

He looks surprised that he took little damage for the spears." How the hell." He then hears the cat speak,*A talking lucky cat? Why is it here? Focus Vik! I should be able to get most of them, but I have to hold back. Remember: hurt them, don't kill them* He quickly picks one sword up and draws the other. He takes a deep breath and raises his blade." NANAJUNI POUND HO!" he screams out as he launches toward the group of warrior women. He looks at the cat with a smirk." Am I still a dum dum, Stupid cat?"

A dominant set of air blades flew towards the valkyrie women. Most likely those who where in front of Viktor. With a wave of pure destrucitve energy the marine would knock out a large portion of his attackers. Fifteen in total would succumb to the air blade's incredible power and it would make anyone boast. Viktor drew his glance to the cat that appeared al of a sudden but the creature didn't look too amused by it.

After all there were 15 more warriors remaining on the ship itself and twenty outside.

"Why you looking at me dumb dumb? This is a fight ye know??"

And right the creature was. By the time Viktor would refocus on the fight he'd notice that two Valkyrie warriors were about to launch their spears towards him.

"Midgard Crash!"

Together with a shout they launched their spears with deadly precision towards Viktor, both of them going towards his leg. Attempting to, if it hit, lock him or at least hinder his movement. The other warriors would hold in the back and depending on how he'd move way, parry or even blast through. Eventually two would catch up to him, aiming to deliver two solid spear stabs to his back.

He looks behind him With a big grin." I'm sorry, but" he jumps over the spears, "The next world's strongest swordsman isn't going die fr-"Suddenly, he stops talking. As if he sensed the two warriors coming, He blocked the attack. He stands still, his mind focused on what caused him to block *I can't believe it... Was that what I think it was...Did I use observation haki? I didn't think I could even use it.* soon, the swordsman starts running further into the island, leaving the warriors, the ship, and the cat behind

Viktor responded and moved over the incoming spears only to pause briefly. His mind was clear and moved almost on autopilot. He thought to himself about that odd sensation just now before dismissing it. With that out of the way, the young marine moved away from the battleground and ran away as fast as possible. The army of Valkyries went on in high pursuit but Viktor was gradually outpacing them. Eventually, they'd even be completely out of view.

As Viktor went further inland he noticed that he was surrounded in a lush green field. Not even a tree could be spotted for miles. The only thing he'd see was a lone castle far far away. A single dot in the distance. His destination perhaps?

"Yeeeeeeeah. Thaaaat's it....Go forth!"

The lucky cat said, riding on Viktor's back. Unknown to the man himself until it'd announced its presence.

He looks behind him *I lost them.* he takes a deep breath when he hears the lucky cat." Huh? Hey, get off me!" he yells at the cat. "Stupid cat, why are you still here?" Vik sits down on the grass to catch his breath. "To annoy me, I'm guessing." He looks towards the castle."While your here, can you tell me if there is anyone strong in that castle?" he asks, hoping there is someone he can test himself against.

The coast was seemingly clear with no warrior in pursuit behind him. This would allow the young man to take a breather and take an interest towards the lucky cat that accompanied him. With its little paws against their hips, the creature raised an eyebrow as if Viktor had said the stupidest thing it had ever heard.

"What are you on about? Of course, there is, it's the royal castle."

The creature said, taking a leap on Viktor's shoulder and tapping his forehead. As if to check if there was something inside of it.

"Hmm, got something in there. Whatever."

"Listen Kid, its the royal castle. The head judge there is probably the strongest warrior within. But getting to her won't be easy and you'll make yourself an enemy of the entire Island."
"Yer got a deathwish or somethin?"

The cat said, genuinely wondering what Viktor's motives for all of this was. It grasped the concept of testing yourself but this was straight-up suicide. Unless Viktor had a really good motive to do what he wanted to do.

He chuckles. "Deathwish? No, you stupid cat, I will be the world's swordsman, so I must fight and beat the strongest." Viktor gives a toothy grin. "And it's Viktor, not kid! " He exclaims in anger while shaking his fist. Viktor stood up and brushed himself off." Also, I'm just bored and want to fight someone new," He nonchalantly admits to the cat. Viktor moved towards the castle. As they walked towards the castle, "So... what's your name?" He asks the creature

"World's best swordsman?" the cat said as it looked with a dumbfounded look on its face.

Before it could retaliate with a mean quip or perhaps an insult, given the foul mouth this creature had. Viktor stood up and brushed himself off, preparing for the road towards the castle. "Yer single-mindedness is beyond belief, Kid," The cat said, blatantly ignoring the young man's request to not address him as a child.

"Whatever, it'll be amusing to see when you fall. You can call me Neko" The cat said, pulling Viktor's leg even further. By letting him call the creature cat in another language. But whether the young man was practised enough in linguistics to pick up on it, remained to be seen.

The duo would walk side by side on their way to the castle. What was a speck in the distance became larger and larger and eventually Viktor would notice that the castle itself was disappearing behind a massive brick wall. So high up in fact that even a Giant would have to climb to reach over it. His target, beyond the wall itself for no real entrance would be seen for miles to his left or right. At first glance up seemed the only way to go.

"Ye got yer climbing gear with ya?" Neko said, sarcastically.

Vik looks up at the walls with his arms crossed. "Oh, haha, very funny," he replies to Neko. He sighs. "I wish I had paid attention to Kuzan when he was teaching me, geppo." he cracks his knuckles, grabs onto the wall, and begins to climb. It takes a while, but he eventually gets over it. He sits on the wall, attempting not to stick out, though it is challenging due to his fluffy white hair. Viktor scouts out the area, watching the guards walk around." any plans?" he whispered to Neko, unsure how to tackle this situation.

Viktor without a back-up plan went with the only plausible action, climbing this massive wall. With Neko on his back, the two made the treacherous journey up what many would claim to be a literal mountain. An act that took literal hours considering the massive height of the place. Eventually after a dreadfully boring journey, from Neko's perspective, the two had made it up the wall.

Up on the wall, the view to Valkyrie village was a soothing sight, outright peaceful.

From their perspective and location, no guard was really in sight since no one anticipated someone foolish enough to climb the wall in its entirety. Below at the very end of the village and on the edge between land and Sky Island was a larger hut-looking structure. "There, if your actual goal is to fight the strongest here, that's where ya need to go!" Neko said, pointing at the hut at the bottom of the island. But before he could reach that he'd have to try and find a usable route towards it, preferably undetected. Several routes would go to this building, one to the left, one centre and one right.

The left had a road of carts and wheelbarrows but security was at its strongest there. The centre was a route filled with corners and turns, filled with alleyways a true labyrinth. But security was at its all-time lowest at most a guard or 3. To the right was a market. Security was neither high nor low but it was filled with people. One might be able to sneak or blend in with the crowd if one desired.

"zzzzzz" Neko said, pretending to be asleep when Viktor asked for directions.

Three routes were before him, he only had to choose. And wait how it'd unravel, neither route where something he could cross in one solid step.
