A Grim Punishment - #22

Ancient Wano - Ancient Corridor
Shinobu and Akira had stumbled into Ancient Wano. The lost city, sitting in a cave underwater, held the country's secrets. The Beast Pirates, piloted by one of Spada's own, Uvogin, were already in search for the Poneglyph. One number downed, the remaining swung her club towards the interloper, its shadow cast over a large part of the city. Shadow changed his body into that infamous Ancient Zoan, using his wings to protect himself from the attack. The momentum carried the Shadow towards the entrance, barreling against the collapsing entrance.

The camera slowed down, capturing the shot in slow-motion. The male Number, downed but not dead, stretched his neck and bared his fangs towards the entrance. Akira passed between those teeth, mere centimeters from the fangs, before barreling through the entrance. The entrance collapsed, burying the male Numbers head. Large thuds could be heard from inside the corridor. The Numbers failed to give chase.

In the distance, the shadow of the man could be seen.
["Red Scabbard"] "Damn it! It looks like I'll have to take care of this first."- the masked man said to himself, increasing his speed as he dashed down the hallway

Akira would give chase. However, he'd find the man to be unusually fast. If his eyes adjusted to the darkness, Akira could observe the feet of the "Red Scabbard" had torn through the shoes. A partial transformation, the feet were clearly of an ancient dinosaur.

The corridor would eventually open up into a large ancient chamber. Complete with statutes of samurais, it seemed to be a temple of sorts. The chamber even had a second entrance in the ceiling. At the other end of the room was a row of descending stairs. Its entrance had the words "Mount Fuji - Base" emblazoned on it. If Akira connected the dots, he could recall La Spada's words about the Rio Poneglyph location: the prosperous crest. The only notable "crest" or "top of mountain" was Mount Fuji, once prosperous as the setting of Ancient Wano.

["Red Scabbard"] "The Shadow. Of course. Uvogin mentioned your betrayal would persist."- the masked man said, turning to Akira
[La Spada] “From tha' dying breath of old samurais, the whereabouts of Wano's Rio Poneglyph has been extracted: it lies at tha' Flower Capital. One said it lies at tha' "prosperous crest", whatever tha‘ hell that means. Only those who journeyed alongside Oden are privy to its exact location. Tha' Nine Scabbards stand watch over tha' Poneglyph.”- the Yonko declared, laying bare the task before him

Flower Capitol - Castle Rear
Like cloth, the water was thrown into a earth-shaking slash. Kawamatsu had proven himself a Red Scabbard, a disciple of Oden, catching the famed X off-guard. The tag team prowess between Raizo and Kawamatsu would be told in tales of samurai. The gunslinger was downed. However, sheer power prevailed over prowess. Much to the surprise of Raizo and Kawamatsu, the man got up. The samurai, shoulder to shoulder, shook with a tint of fear. Skulls appeared over the pistols before firing, mixing the aura of La Spada with that of X, creating a Grim Reaper behind X.

In a shocking development, Kawamatsu grabbed Raizo and pulled him behind.

[Kawamatsu] "RAIZOO!!! LOOK OUTTT!!!!"- the fishman said, using his body to protect his nakama

The bullets shook the fishman's body, slowly impacting his upper body. The ice spread like wildfire, crystalizing the man's water-soaked body. Raizo had fallen back, his eyes widening at the statute of ice left behind.

[“Red Scabbard“] “YAHHHHH!!!! YOU EVIL MAN! YOU"LL PAAAAYYY!!!!"- Raise screamed in anger and anguish, “Huff... huff...I was saving this for La Spada... but you'll do!”- Raizo said, before materializing a giant scroll

Grabbing the statute of ice, Raise quickly jumped backward, clearing a space between him and his opponent of at least fifteen meters. A giant scroll materialized before him. Inscribed on its body was the drawing of a dragon. Kaido. The scroll unearthed a giant conical blast of condensed fire, eradicating everything in its path as it travelled towards X. The blast was so large, it would cover most of Flower Capitol's castle behind X. Its resulting explosion could be seen miles away, causing the other fighters and Scabbards to scramble to survive its aftermath. X was in the epicenter.

Kaido's infamous Boro Breath. Raizo had managed to store it last time he fought the dragon. The samurai had saved it for La Spada, but this young man proved worthy. Raizo's strongest attack, the battle was nearing its end.

Raizo DPS: 81-100: 3. Large Building Level (DF) + 2 (CoA) + 5 (S+ Rank) = 10. Large Country Level
Note: Size of blast is substantial - giant AoE.

Ninpo: Maki Maki no Jutsu (literally meaning "Ninja Art: Scroll-Scroll Technique"): Raizo manifests a scroll from thin air that can capture and store an enemy's attack inside of it. The scroll starts out normal-sized but can rapidly grow in size to intercept any attack. It was first used to intercept Kaidou's Bolo Breath attack.
  • Hokan (iterally meaning "Restoration"): After using a scroll to intercept his opponent's attack and wrapping the scroll around his opponent's body, Raizo releases their attack from the scroll to strike them across their whole body. Before unleashing this attack, Raizo says "Return" followed by the name of the opponent's attack. It was first used against Kaidou to redirect his Bolo Breath attack back at him.
  • Bolo Breath (literally meaning "Heat Breath"): Kaidou's signature attack. He gathers fire inside his mouth before "breathing" it out into a huge, conical blast toward his target of choice. This blast travels rapidly (in the anime covering a tremendous distance within moments) and is extremely powerful. It can instantly decimate a large structure (like a castle's ruins) while leaving the surrounding terrain (like a mountaintop) blown to bits and scorched, can set a sizeable portion of a forest ablaze.

X's eyes widened as he saw the colossal blast of fire heading toward him. His Observation Haki screamed warnings, but there was no time to dodge. X's mind raced briefly before impact, weighing his options. He couldn't outrun it, and no cover was substantial enough to shield him.

With a deep breath, X steeled himself. If he were to go down, he would go down fighting. He channeled every ounce of his remaining strength into Armament Haki, reinforcing his body and pistols. The Grim Reaper's aura intensified, swirling around him in a dark, menacing vortex.

"必殺技:凍闇! ( Killing move: Frozen Darkness! )" X roared as he devised a new technique.

X coated his entire body, including his weapons, with Armament Haki. He joined Colt and Beretta side by side, bending his knees slightly to brace for the immense recoil. He had thought long and hard about this move, analyzing every possible option in the heat of the moment. This was his last-ditch effort.

He fired two ice bullets simultaneously. The eerie sound they produced caused a hallucination, an image of a frozen death skull, as they shot forward. The bullets, imbued with a deadly chill, were designed to freeze anything they touched to death.

The strain on X's body was immense due to the sheer amount of Haki required. The bullets collided with the incoming blast, creating a massive explosion of energy, fire, and ice. The shockwave rocked the battlefield, and the heat was unbearable.

For a moment, chaos reigned. Fire, debris, and destruction painted the sky. Then, as the dust settled, a silhouette emerged from the inferno.

X stood, battered and burned but still on his feet. His body was coated in a thin layer of frost, and his eyes, fierce and unwavering, locked onto Raizo. The gunslinger's defiance in the face of certain death was nothing short of legendary.

Seizing the moment, X swiftly reached for his last freezing bullet. With precise aim, he fired the bullet straight at Raizo. The bullet whistled through the air, carrying almost the same eerie aura of Frozen Darkness.

Reaction/Movement Speed: 100 Massively Hypersonic+ Speed

Bullets DPR: S (100 Gunslinging Mastery: 5 S+ rank bullets. Unlimited A-rank bullets.)

Attack Potency: Level 3 + S(4) + 2 (Haki) = Level 9

-Attack is 1 DPR higher: Overwhelms the weaker attack but loses 5~DPR

Durability:
Level 5 + 1 (Haki) = Level 6

-DPR 1 below dura: Somewhat effective

Bullets DPR:
S (100 Gunslinging Mastery: 5 S+ rank bullets. Unlimited A-rank bullets.)

Attack Potency: Level 3 + S(4) + 1 (Haki) = Level 8

Note: The "必殺技:凍闇:! (Killing move: Frozen Darkness!)" was added purely for aesthetic reasons to embellish the clash. It is not an actual move used in the RP that requires approval and will not be reproduced elsewhere. The DPR and Clash system remain the same, but simply mentioning firing a bullet or two did not capture the ramping emotion in this scene. The move's name draws inspiration from Japanese mythology: 'frozen' represents Kuraokami, a dragon and Shinto deity of rain and snow, while 'darkness' comes from Daikokuten, a syncretic deity of fortune and wealth. Kuraokami is associated with frost, and Daikokuten, derived from the Sanskrit term Mahākāla, means 'Great Black One' or 'Great Death.' X coating his body in black like Daikokuten and using frost like Kuraokami adds depth to the visual impact of the scene.

Flower Capitol - Castle Rear
Enraged by the fall of his comrade, Raizo unleashed his most powerful attack. Kaido's Boro Breath illuminated the castle, dwarfing its target as it sought consume him. The marksman spirit and aura mixed in with Colt and Berretas', forming into a iced skull that dared to stand against the canonic blast of hell. The explosion that resulted was massive, covering the battlefield in a hail of fire and ice. Raizo crossed his arms as the resulting explosion consumed him.

From the scorched earth, from te smoke, the frightening silhouette of X appeared. Raizo, on his knees with perilous wounds, wet for his sword. However, even he had to accept what this meant.

[“Red Scabbard“] “Master Oden..."- Raizo whispered to the sky, “I'm sorry. W-w-we count s-s-stop them.”- Raizo said, before his eyes began to roll back

The Red Scabbard swung his sword with what little strength he had left. The blade met the bullet, causing an impact ring to echo from the meeting of blade and bullet. Suddenly, Raizo's arms gave out, and the freezing bullet blasted through. Raizo chest bore the brunt of the impact. From the impact point, ice began to spread. Slowly cracking into place, the Red Scabbard soon joined his comrade in ice. Both Red Scabbards still lived. However, chilled by the Underworld, they could no longer protect Wano.

As the smoke from the explosion completely cleared, the fate of the other battles would come to light. Ashura Doji and Prometheus lay face-up next to each other. Both were unconscious, bearing perilous wounds that told the tale of their confrontation. Kin'emon lay against a bolder, a large beam of iron crucifying him to the rock. The samurai's body was charred. Undoubtedly, the explosion that X caused unwittingly gave Uvogin the advantage. Kin'emon breath was heavy but present, his eyes stuck on his fallen comrades.

The Red Scabbards had lost this battle.

[Uvogin] "It is done. To crush the people's spirit, the Red Scabbards shall be imprisoned and shown to the country."- Uvogin said through pained grunts, sitting down on the nearby hill, "I can't move well. You'll have to see it trough."- the giant said slowly
[Uvogin] "Take Prometheus' guns. You'll find Paige One down that underground passage the Red Scabbards fought so hard to protect. I sent him down there to find the Poneglyph. I planned to turn on Paige One once he did."- the giant said, turning to X, "My job is done. The Shadow is down there already."- finished Uvogin
The Oars Giant pointed towards the hole at the back of the Flower Castle. The explosion from earlier fully uncovered the entrance. The giant held up his end of the bargain, promising Paige One was down the corridor. The Beast Pirates were a mere tool to draw the Red Scabbards out and find the Poneglyph. However, now only X and Akira could see it through.

Two powerful auras could be sensed deep inside the underground corridor.

Akira’s use of his own body to endure the damage that the Number outputted through her giant club allows himself to be propelled towards the door entrance before the doorway could fully collapse. Yet before any safe calls were made, the Number that the boy took down did not fully drop dead as Akira hoped for, because of that – the giant would attempt to devour Akira with his massive mouth, sharp teeth moving from both vertical ends in an attempt to clamp down on the Shadow. However, through a Hollywood-esque situation, Akira just barely passed through such a dangerous situation for had he been stopped by the Number, he may not be able to get through the door before it crumbles down.

Immediately, the boy rolled with his wings into a safety roll as Akira recovers onto his feet. His success meant that the fake Scabbard is now forced to run, or to ‘take care of this first’, in which the context of whether ‘this’ refers to the Red Scabbard herself, or to Akira. Regardless of which, the fake Samurai ran into the deep darkness. While Akira could not see well in the darkness, his Haki and the quick steps of running sounds is enough of an indication that he will need to give chase. Prompting the boy to do the same. The target is really fast, though Akira did not notice the physical change that he would undergo.

Eventually, the corridor would open up into a larger ancient chamber, with presumably better lighting. Here this chamber could be seen with various samurai statues and with what seems to be an entrance on the ceiling. On the other side of the room is a stairway leading downwards with the word ‘Mount Fuji - Base’. However, such relation to the ‘notable crest’ with the top of the mountain escaped Akira’s thoughts. For it would be quite a hard connection to make with too little context. However, Akira could garner he might be onto something anyway, given that one of the Red Scabbards is kidnapped to such a place and such chamber differs quite a lot from the ruins outside.

The fake Scabbard would finally reveal himself, as he would mention Uvogin once again, and that Akira’s betrayal persisted past what happened in Whole Cake Island. Akira turned towards the Scabbard, though presumably that which the fake would have already transformed into a dinosaur-like form by this time.

“Yet Uvogin seems to be one planning something else. Not only that, but to execute the people of Wano with no good reason.”

Akira thought. Uvogin was being suspicious, despite his supposed loyalty to La Spada. Or, their methods on the acquisition of the poneglyph have differ too much that either side believe that there is betrayal at hand.

But now that things have evolved to such a state. A battle between Zoans would seem to be quite inevitable.

X took a moment to catch his breath, the strain of using "必殺技:凍闇! (Killing move: Frozen Darkness!)" still weighing heavily on his body. Every muscle ached, and the bitter cold from his attack gnawed at his bones. He quickly assessed his condition, noting the fatigue and wounds, but his resolve burned hotter than ever. He couldn't afford to stop now.

He approached the fallen Red Scabbards, their bodies encased in ice, ensuring they were incapacitated and unable to interfere further. Their faces, frozen in expressions of shock and pain, were a stark reminder of the battle's brutality.

Glancing around the battlefield, X saw Uvogin, who, though battered and bloodied, met his gaze with a nod. The giant's eyes spoke volumes: he had upheld his part of the deal and trusted X to finish the mission. In return, X gave a curt nod, a silent promise to see this through.

After securing Prometheus' guns, X turned his attention to the underground passage Uvogin had indicated. The entrance loomed before him, dark and foreboding. His legs felt like lead, and his breath came in ragged gasps, but he forced himself to move.

Entering the passage, X moved carefully, his senses alert despite his unsteady walk. The narrow walls seemed to close in on him, and the air was thick with anticipation. He could hear the sounds of a struggle ahead, the clash of steel, and the grunt of exertion. His heart pounded in his chest.

At that moment, he reloaded his guns with his special bullets. He had only five in his possession, the strongest in his arsenal. Each bullet was a masterpiece, crafted for moments of dire necessity. He hadn't wanted to use them, but given his current predicament, he had no choice.

He had in mind catching Page One with one of the bullets when no one was paying much attention to him to avoid more fights since he doubted his current status would allow it.

A Grim Punishment - #24

Ancient Wano - Samurai Temple
The Red Scabbards had lost the battle. The victors claimed their captives. Uvogin's gambit had paid off. The Beast Pirates had drawn the Red Scabbards out of hiding, unintentionally revealed the passage to Ancient Wano, and led the Shadow to the Mount Fuji chamber. The cost was the lives of the innocent; a price paid its weight in blood. Different methods indeed. There was only one loose end. The Beast Pirates were still under the ruse, promised much for their cooperation. X would be the factor to settle the score.

The wounded marksman jumped into the hole. Footing did not come, launching him into a downward tube that piloted down. The two strong auras are closer.

At the samurai temple, the masked man confronted his pursuer. The Shadow had caught up with the interloper. The ever-quiet man would see the interloper reveal himself. Grabbing his mask, the figure tossed it and his cloak aside, ending his ruse as a samurai. The"Red Scabbard" was revealed to be a young pale-skinned man with purple hair in a sidecut: shaved down on the left side of his head. He had sharp and angular, green eyes set under slightly heavy, hairless brow ridges, and a small, upward-curving horns on the sides of his head. A tattoo of his name in block capitals frontally occupied his upper body: the "P" being on his right biceps, "AGE" across his chest, and "1" on his left deltopectoral groove.

One of the Tobiroppo with a $290,000,000 bounty. Page One.

[Page One] "Why don't you join us, Shadow? Your disdain of 'The Grim' lies even deeper than ours."- Page One said, revealing Uvogin told him much to gain his trust, "Uvogin 'The Diamond' and the Beast Pirates will use the Poneglyph to overthrow that witch. They say Pluton is hidden in these depths. What do you say?"- the young man taunted an attractive offer
Assuming, but not deciding, that The Shadow would refuse, Page One shook his head. He looked up at the hole in the ceiling of the temple with fermented glee. It was as if the young man was expecting someone. The Shadow could feel a powerful aura barreling down towards them. Reunited and it feels so good. X would appear from the ceiling, set to land in the grand stage of the final battle.

[Page One] "Uvogin said you don't play well with others. So... he said he'd send some insurance. Time to die, Shadow."- Page One declared, showing the length of Uvogin's deceptions and schemes

With that unwitting taunt, Page One's clothes ripped as his body transformed. His skin turned scaly brown, his bottom grew a tail, his back grew spines, fangs popped out, and the man became several times his size. Yet, that infamous purple cut hair and tatooo remained.

The Ancient Zoan: Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Spinosaurus.

Akira watched as the man removed his disguise, revealing himself to be Page One of the Tobiroppo, someone that while Akira has not met during the events of the Onigashima raid, have heard of in quite details due to the Spada Pirates pursuing both Yonkou in Whole Cake Island. Not much could else could be said, though Page One would change around the conversation, delaying the fight as he tries to convince Akira to join them, making note of the boy’s hatred on La Spada herself and that Pluton is hiding deep within such places. Without the need for Akira to prompt, Page One has perhaps made quite a blunder revealing such secrets. And it would seem that Uvogin too, has quite a loyalty issue, not so far from Akira himself it seems. Though Akira did not believe that Uvogin would betray La Spada, the words from Page One seems to implicate Uvogin having the knowledge but withheld it from La Spada. Either way, his words have revealed enough, that Akira has found himself at the correct destination.

“No.”

Akira would respond to Page One’s demand. Though the follow up is quickly interrupted as someone would come tumbling down from the ceiling where the hole is located, revealing to be X. Here Page One would finally reveal a twist. That this will not be a battle between Zoan, but rather a two versus one as the Tobiroppo transforms into a theropod-like beast.

Akira is in quite a disadvantage. Not having a powerful sword with him and having to fight two beings, one a Zoan and the other who would be firing guns at him like before. But that would not stop Akira’s goal. The boy would then declare loudly, not directed to Page One nor X but someone should understand it. A terrifying aura seems to engulf Akira, something not just about a murderous aura but something a little more sinister, just a tinge more something akin to a Grim Reaper.

“If this is your idea of punishment. You will lose Uvogin and the marksman when I’m out of here.”

“I told you guys that if you choose to return to Wano Kuni, you are to protect the people here.”

Unsure if Uvogin meant to betray La Spada, but the last time Akira spoke to the Beast Pirates, specifically Ulti and Black Maria – the instructions were to ally with Akira under him and to protect the people of Wano. Obviously that wasn’t what happened. But Akira would have to find Ulti or Black Maria if he wants answers. Akira made his transformation as well, though to change his hybrid form into a smaller one, allowing the boy to wield his katana on his hand.

As X descended into the chamber, he surveyed the scene keenly, noting the impressive yet ominous figure of Page One in his transformed state. The dim light flickered ominously across the spinosaurus-like figure, casting long shadows on the ancient stone walls. X felt the gravity of the situation but kept his demeanor calm and collected.

“Page One,” X began, his voice steady as he took a few deliberate steps forward, “Uvogin mentioned you’d be here. Seems like the old giant’s tactics are always full of surprises. But if I’m to believe his words, we share a common goal.”

He observed Page One’s reaction carefully, knowing that Uvogin’s manipulations could be turned to his advantage. X’s hand rested subtly near one of his guns, ready to act if the opportunity arose.

“Uvogin was quite clear about his intentions,” X continued, his tone deliberately amiable, “He wants to overthrow the current regime and believes that the Poneglyph can grant us the power to do so. I’m here to see that through, and it seems our paths have crossed in the most fortuitous way.”

He paused, gauging Page One’s response, hoping to lower his guard and create an opening. His posture was relaxed, but his senses remained sharp, ready for any sign of opportunity.

“But as you can see,” X added, nodding towards Akira, “our mutual enemy, Akira, is a formidable opponent. Our goal is to retrieve the Poneglyph. We should work together to ensure our success.”

X strategically positioned himself where Page One’s transformation and large size could create a blind spot. He subtly prepared his gun, aiming to catch Page One off guard when the moment was right. He aimed to maintain the pretense of a trustworthy ally while setting up his plan.

X observed the interaction between Page One and Akira, the tension in the room palpable. The revelation about Uvogin’s possible betrayal and the mention of Pluton raised the stakes significantly. Akira’s intense response and sudden transformation indicated that this would be a challenging battle. X knew that strategy and timing were crucial.

“It seems we’ve both been playing a dangerous game,”
X said, his voice calm but edged with calculated menace. “Uvogin’s plans were more complex than I anticipated, and it’s clear that your loyalty to the Beast Pirates isn’t as steadfast as I thought.”

He forced himself to stay composed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on him. X glanced at Akira, noting the boy’s transformation and the fierce resolve in his eyes. His plan to feign allegiance and use Page One as a distraction was about to unfold.

“I agree, Kage,” X said, turning his gaze back to Page One. “If this is how things are to be settled, I won’t be holding back. Uvogin’s betrayal or not, I’ve got my own reasons for being here. We’re all playing for high stakes, and I won’t let anyone stand in my way.”

X subtly adjusted his position to stay within striking range, his fingers gripping the trigger of his guns. He was prepared to act as soon as Page One’s guard was lowered or if Akira presented an opening. He aimed to bring Page One down before the battle could escalate further.

“I hope you’re ready, Page One,” X said, aiming to divert Page One’s focus toward Akira, “Because it seems you’ll need more than just brute force to deal with him.”

X took a measured step back, keeping his distance but remaining within range to strike. His eyes remained locked on Akira, watching for any sign of an opportunity to attack, but his primary attention was on Page One. He was poised to execute his plan, ready to use his gun to shift the tide of the battle in his favor.

Ancient Wano - Samurai Temple
One of the Tobiroppo with a $290,000,000 bounty. Page One. The Spinosaurus called X his ally. Uvogin had promised him back-up in this moment. The Shadow was inevitable, and Uvogin planned well ahead. However, the giant's true intentions were obscure. Was X truly a double agent? Or was Page One another victim to be claimed in the plan to obtain the Poneglyph for La Spada? Whatever the resolution would be, it would happen here.

The Shadow spoke ominously, recalling a conversation he had with Black Maria.

[Page One] "Protect the people of Wano? I don't even know what you're talking about."- Page One scoffed, revealing he formed a separate Beast Pirates sect than Black Maria
Shortly after, X cast his die. The marksman called Akira their "mutual enemy", bringing a grin to that fanged dinosaur grin. However, the marksman's words were complex. The Spinosaurus nodded to the marksman. However, he kept his eye on X - pirates alliances were often marked by betrayal. For the moment, it seemed Page One had the upper hand with his new-found ally. To The Shadow, he'd be staring down at a disadvantage in number.

The Tobiroppo would begin the brawl with a roar.

[Page One] "Pluton will be ours! RAAAAAAHAHHHHHHHH!!!!"- Page One declared, haki compressing in his throat, released in a mighty roar

Surging from his wide fangs, the Spinosaurus unleashed a mighty sound shockwave that took over the side of the temple Akira was on; X was out of range. There was no escape. The shockwave was capable of paralyzing the listener by shattering their eardrums. For a zoan such as Akira, the effect of the shockwave was significantly heightened.

Behind the shockwave, Page One's massive dinosaur legs pounded the earth, closing the gap. Lunging forward, the dinosaur brought his right hand down on Akira. Brimming with haki, it would explode upon contact with crater-inducing force. He counted on the marksman X to provide cover and support.

Page One Shockwave: 9. Small Country Level
(though its not DPS per se, it's more of the effect)

Page One Punch: 11. Small Continent Level

Akira spoke to remind the Beast Pirates of their agreement, or at least of their conversation. However, Page One’s words can only mean two things, either the remnants as a whole decided not to listen to Akira, or some of them decided to break away and form a new crew. Either way, without Ulti or Black Maria to speak to, that would be quite impossible to gauge. X would seem to try to put himself in a position where it would suit him best, that he would betray either side if it gains point to stay ahead. But Akira didn’t seem to care, his enemies are clear and it would not matter on how X’s decisions would make any difference to him beyond the fact that this is more of Page One’s problem than his. After all, Page One have to make the conscious effort to watch out for X’s betrayal – Akira have already decided to deal with both of them regardless.

Page One declared to look for Pluton, though not before sneakily attacking Akira with a Haki-infused roar, one that no one barring those with the ability to see the future could foresee and react to, causing Page One’s roar to shatter the boy’s ear drums before he realizes it, temporarily paralyzing him as the shockwaves damaged him – locking Akira in place as the pain rings in his head, blood spilling out of both ears. This allowed Page One to launched an attack which Akira could not move away from as his opponent brought his right hand down towards Akira. Biting the pain of his ringing ears, Akira could only use his eyes to follow Page One, for the ringing in his ears prevents him from using Haki to sense Page One – and temporarily slowed his usage of Haki. Instead, Akira could only block with his bladed wing, using lesser Haki to protect himself as the punch slightly breaks through the defense, damaging the wings as blood spits out from Akira’s mouth.

Roar damage: Normal damage? Quite Effective?

Akira's DPR: 6. City Level (121+, Zoans only) + B (Bladed Wings): +2 + Invisible Haki: +2 = 10. Large Country Level vs 11
Result: Attack is 1 DPR higher: Overwhelms the weaker attack but loses 5 DPR

Akira's Dura: 8. Island Level (121+, Zoans only) vs 6. City Level (121+, Zoans only)
Result: Not very effective.

Immediately swapping his katana to the hand that blocked Page One’s attack unsuccessfully, Akira shifted his body towards the side to allow Page One’s attack to drive down the ground as the paralyzing effects subsides, allowing Akira to take a step back and let the attack’s momentum push him back with a quick spin as he envelops Haki onto his katana. This puts Page One in between Akira and X, hopefully making it far more difficult for the gunner to fire at his opponent before X could utilize an opportunity, after all one wrong move and their alliance can easily be shattered. As Akira backs away, he swung his blade at near point blank, making use of the fact that Page One’s body position may find it difficult to dodge given he is at the end of the attack, firing effectively a point blank air blade at Page One aimed to cut off his arm. At the same time, his newly free hand transforms – undergoing partial transformation on one side of his arm into the original beast form, his wings enlarged but also much more powerful.

As the tension in the room thickened, X observed the interaction between Page One and Akira. Page One's declaration about Pluton and the sudden Haki-infused roar that followed was something X hadn't expected. The shockwave aimed at Akira was powerful, and X felt excitement and wariness. He had positioned himself outside the range of the roar, a calculated move that left him in a solid position to act.

"If this is the moment to strike, I must ensure it's decisive. But I'll let them weaken each other first."

X maintained his distance as Page One launched his attack on Akira. He could see Akira struggling, but the young swordsman was far from defeated. X kept his gun ready, finger on the trigger, waiting for the perfect moment to either assist or betray, depending on how the situation evolved. His eyes flicked between Akira and Page One, calculating his next move.

Page One had roared, but X's mind was already working on how to exploit the situation. He needed Akira and Page One to be at their weakest when he made his move, ensuring that neither could stand in his way.

As Akira began to counter Page One's assault, X considered his options. If Akira's counterattack created an opening, X would be ready to exploit it. But he would have to be careful, as one wrong move could turn powerful adversaries against him.

X positioned himself to ensure that if Akira's counterattack succeeded, he could immediately capitalize on the situation. His goal was clear: weaken both enemies and ensure they were no longer a threat.

"If Akira can weaken Page One, I might be able to finish the job. But I need to be ready for any outcome. The tides could shift at any moment."

Page One proclaimed ann alliance with X, believing Uvogin pulled the strings for his benefit. To the Shadow, it would be a most interesting turn of events, finding himself outnumbered. Could he trust X? Would he call X an enemy? Page One did not waste time, striking the Pterodactyl when he was weakened. True to his fame, the swordsman was able to gain distance, firing off an attack at close range. Page One was out of position, his feet off the ground and vulnerable.

Suddenly, in an unexpected but brilliant move, Page One’s tail slammed the ground behind him, maneuvering to the side; eyes red with observation haki. The air blade barely missed the Dinosaur, cutting his check as it passed by. Bigger than his body, Page One’s tail allowed for a maneuverability rare in one of such size.

[Page One] If I get hit with that… it’s over. I have to play this very carefully. - Page One thought to himself, turning to his full hybrid form
Gripping the ground with the claws on his teeth, Page One swung his arms towards Akira from afar, creating a lattice of air blasts that sought to overcome the swordsman. A large piece of torn ground was launched above, aiming to cut off means of escape from the air. As a distraction rather than an attack, Page One followed, appearing behind the air blasts and in front of the swordman with his fangs bared and clad with Haki, ready to bite.

Suddenly, that tail slammed into the ground once more, launching him to the right. A feint, it revealed X right in the line of sight.

[Page One] "NOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!"- Page One declared, counting on the marksman using the element of surprise

Page One unwittingly put X in a precarious position. Put up or shut up.

Akira’s counteroffensive allows him to not just attack Page One but also reposition himself back and to ensure that X could not fire at him without Page One acting as a sort of a meat shield. His plan was much simpler, making sure that he would not be in direct line of sight and that the lack of inaction would simply be the cause of the alliance’s fall is the best way to deal with his enemies. And as such, keeping note of X’s location as much as he could even though X has yet to do anything in combat is important to ensure he would not be hit by the gunner.

As Page One continues his attack, firing multiple air blasts at him, Akira himself, did the same as well – using his larger bladed wing to fire air blades to meet Page One’s attack. However, as Page One moved forward, Akira – having been aware of both of his opponent’s location fired a horizontal air blade with his sword, infused with Haki. Even if Page One dodges it, the air blade would simply aim for X if presumably he would not try to find a different angle to shoot in the midst of everything. And as Page One would suddenly dodge, or have pre-emptively moved aside Akira immediately took the opportunity to strike at the meat shield.

Akira's DPR: 6. City Level (121+, Zoans only) + A (Bladed Wings): +3 = 9. Small Country Level vs Page One's Air Blast
Result: Equal Force.

Name: Crescent Moon
Rank: C
Description: The user can generate an air blade with a swing of the sword. (31 Shuurin, 31 Strength)

Akira's DPR: 6. City Level (121+, Zoans only) + C: +1 + Invisible Haki: +2 = 9. Small Country Level

Almost immediately, Akira jumped towards the airborne Page One – even if he were to use his tail to change direction, being in the air makes it harder to change direction when he has already launched himself with such momentum using his tail. And with that, Akira starts to swing his sword horizontally in a wild-like fashion even before actually touching Page One – firing thin yet sharp short range air blades around himself that act as an offensive barrier while cutting anything that is around him. This aims to hit Page One while he is not in the best position to reposition himself while at the same time protect himself from X whether or not the gunner would try to shoot him. The boy would continue to make multiple jumps and aim for Page One with his attack, but at the final jump, at the end of the blade dancer’s dance – a final slew of air blades would manifest around him, which should either opponents attempt to attack him at the end of the attack Akira would still be somewhat protected. But even so, Akira expected that eventually, Page One would no longer be able to put himself as the meat shield for X and that would be far more dangerous for X than for the Zoan.

Name: Autumn’s Dance
Rank: S
Description: The user jumps as he swings his sword around him horizontally in several arcs, combining both normal swings and thin air blades (See Autumn’s Reach) to achieve multiple attacks in a single jump. Each swing of his sword as well as firing an air blade are erratic and random, thus making it harder to define the range of the attack to dodge. The motion of the swing as well as the air blades are enough to cover the user’s back with a couple of swings as well – allowing the user to both attack and defend at the same time. This would continue into several smaller jumps and even flips into the user as the user continues to swing – until the user stops into one last set of swings and air blades, and then finishing the move with several air blades around the user with the final swing. A technique most suited for dealing with a group of enemies. [Pic 1] (91 Strength, 91 Shuurin)

X found himself in an increasingly precarious situation as the chaotic battle unfolded. The memory of his previous encounter with Kage surged through his mind. He recalled the intensity of the fight, how Kage's relentless attacks had nearly claimed his life. The thought of it sent a shiver down his spine, and as he observed Page One's performance, doubt began to creep in. The Spinosaurus' attacks were fierce, but X couldn't shake the feeling that their current strategy might not be enough to secure victory.

Kage's counteroffensive was swift and calculated. The swordsman's larger bladed wing met Page One's air blasts with air blades, creating a chaotic power clash. X quickly realized that Kage was using the battle's momentum to his advantage, positioning Page One as a shield between himself and X. Kage's tactics were clear: keep X from getting a clean shot.

As the air blades flew, one of Kage's horizontal air blades, infused with Haki, was sent directly toward X's position. The shot was perfectly timed to hit Page One or strike X if the Spinosaurus dodged.

X's instincts kicked in. Recognizing the danger, he quickly shifted his position, trying to move out of the line of fire while maintaining his readiness to act. But as he moved, he noticed that Kage was also launching himself toward Page One, initiating a barrage of short-range air blades that created an offensive barrier around him.

X's eyes darted between Kage and Page One. The situation rapidly escalated, and the realization hit him that X would be exposed if Page One failed to block or dodge the attack. The Spinosaurus' massive form had previously served as a convenient cover, but now it has become a liability.

Page One's movements were crucial, and X had to decide quickly. The uncertainty of the situation and the possibility that Kage's relentless assault might overwhelm Page One forced X to reconsider his options. As Kage continued his wild, horizontal slashes, X's mind raced. He knew that his decision in the next few moments could determine the outcome of this battle.

Seeing the potential disaster, X decided to act on his growing doubts. Instead of aiming for Kage as initially planned, X suddenly shifted his aim, targeting Page One's exposed back. X squeezed the trigger with a calculated breath, firing a shot aimed at the Spinosaurus. In this high-stakes gamble, X hoped to either take down Page One or disrupt Kage's assault, knowing full well the risks involved in betraying an ally mid-battle.

Page One launched the counteroffensive, meeting Akira’s airblades with air blasts. Using them as cover, Page One threw himself towards the swordsman. A last-second dodge forced X to act as Akira and Page One were trading blows. Page One had launched himself towards the right but was not airborne - he simply took a wide side step. His instincts allowed him to reposition his body, slam his feet against the ground, and stabilize himself to meet the frontal assault.

Shockwaves vibrated around Page One’s claws as he threw them forward in a devastating barrage of attacks.

[Page One] “Come get some!! RAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!” - Page One bellowed, an aura of spirit tracing his every blow
A Tobiroppo. To clash against the one who slew La Spada was a testament in it of itself. The Ancient Zoans were unmatched in sheer power. Attaining physical levels even mythological zoans could not reach, the Spinosaurus leaned in to his primal forces, delivering a barrage of shockwave punches that danced with The Shadow’s own. The sight was one to behold, the very temple shaking with every blow. Pound for pound, the blows were almost equal in strength. However, the Spinosaurus was being pushed back, small cuts appearing on the surface of his arms. The swordsman had the upper hand, ever so slightly.

That is, until X marked the spot.

[Page One] "Ugh! W-w-hat?!"- Page One grunted, the bullet penetrating the dinosaur thick back in a surprising development, “Y-y-you b-b-bastard!”- said the Spinosaurus, as Akira’s attack broke through

The tug of war between Akira and Page One suddenly broke open. X’s bullet disrupted Page One’s offensive. The swordsman broke through. The dinosaur’s body flew back, crashing into the nearby wall, blood tracing his path. X had chosen a side.

Suddenly, the rubble shook. The stones parted to reveal Page One‘s bloodshot red eyes. Nasty wounds adorned his body, yet they were blackened by the full body haki and aura the dinosaur wore. Down but not out, the dinosaur showed why Ancient Zoans were touted as the most resilient of Devil Fruits.

[Page One] “Betrayal at every turn, is it?!”- Page One angrily screamed, “I may fall today, but my sister will avenge me. You - the weak link… I’m taking you with me!”- roared the Spinosaurus, charging X

Even the Tobiroppo had to accept what the alliance between Akira and X meant. However, he was determined to take X with him.

Akira struck against Page One, clashing between Zoans which would seem to be slightly advantageous towards Akira as Akira’s attack whilst met blow for blow against Page One’s claws, has the secondary effect of causing arcing air blades that would cause surface cuts against Page One, forcing Page One back ever so slightly. However, X would soon have made his decision in this fight, eventually firing a shot that would hit Page One’s back instead that would signify the end of their alliance. The betrayal allowed Akira’s attack to struck Page One hard, which sent him crashing into a nearby wall.

With that, the aftermath of Akira’s attack led to quite a devastating damage onto Page One, not enough to fully take down Page One however, as he would come out of the rubble with not just pain but with anger, his body completely engulfed in Haki. Here Page One directed his attention to X, and that his defeat would been revenge from his sister, one in which Akira does not recognize, but only that he is most likely either referring to Ulti or Black Maria, both in which he encountered in Whole Cake Island. Page One has made it clear that what is implied to be have two factions within Beast Pirates, they are still somewhat related. Akira did not intend for Beast Pirates to harass the people of Wano, as he hoped for that they will protect them instead. Page One prowess would be beneficial in that regard, though convincing him or the other group would be hard to do so right now.

Instead of stopping Page One, Akira positioned himself closer to the two, but this time his actions is different from his plan previously. The boy made sure that Page One is no longer between him and X – ensuring that he could see what X is doing at all times. While there’s not much reason for Akira to interrupt them, Akira needed Page One to be alive to ensure that the message to the Beast Pirate is clear beyond any doubts. As such, the boy only cared to speak as Page One’s back is facing him – whether that would distract Page One is unclear however.

“I’ve told Black Maria and Ulti that if the remnants of the Beast Pirates were to return to Wano Kuni, protecting the people of Wano and to be the allies of Spada Pirates. Not to join Uvogin and cause unnecessary troubles.”

Akira paused for a moment.

“You being here means both of them must have taken my words beyond just face value. Since you weren’t there at that time – I’ll repeat what I’ve
said to them.”

“Join me, and protect the people of Wano Kuni. Or only despair awaits you at the finish line.”

Akira could not care less about the alliance with X. He had preferred if he have the mutual agreement with the Beast Pirate remnants stand and have all these farce to end. Uvogin can be dealt with later, most likely with Hera but for now, the accomplishing what he is here for is far more paramount.

X's eyes flickered with intensity as he watched Page One roar in fury and charge toward him, the Zoan's massive form barreling forward with terrifying speed. The beast was relentless, but X had already prepared for this moment. The sight of Page One charging, bloodied yet furious, was almost exactly what he had anticipated.

"Tough bastard," X muttered, a dark edge in his voice as he assessed the situation. "But you're not gonna make it."

From the start, he had foreseen something like this. Zoan users were always harder to put down. X knew he had limited time with Page One charging, but Kage's stance simplified things. The swordsman seemed to have no intention of intervening, leaving the battlefield to X.

"This is where it ends," X whispered, voice low and sinister, his finger brushing the trigger. He had already decided that whether Page One was still standing or mid-charge didn't matter. His bullets would ensure the Spinosaurus didn't remain a threat for long.

As Page One closed the distance, X fired. The first bullet rang out, aimed directly at the raging beast, followed by more, his shots deliberate and calculated. His remaining bullets were aimed at finishing the job, piercing through the air toward the charging Zoan, intent on putting an end to Page One's rampage before he could close in.
