I daydream about upsetting your,
Contrived, civil establishment.
Because I'm solely here,
To scar the system,
To scare the jury of the court;
With arguments they've said first.

My words are my constructs of war,
Flying like bullets;
Ripping like razorblades,
Through this corrupt system.

Avoid the response I get,
Neglect the protest and open fire.
Shoot the lead right through me;
Prove me right,
Declare you wrong.

I rip the heart out of my chest,
To watch you languish at my bleeding.
Because the truth is,
You have killed yourself first.

I could twist every word you have,
I could exploit my freedoms given by you;
But no; I am going to break them through,
I am offensive,
I am repressive,
And these thoughts are real.

This one here was recently created for my Pudding of my life. Hope you like it.

I always remember how I first saw you;
It was a common night but a wonderful sight;
I was staring at a girl who was wearing a smile,
That made a wonderful night just a common sight.

I knew I was under a spell,
When my mind began to dismiss and let the heart transform its thoughts into a poem;
It traversed the horizon which separates reality and fantasy;
I ended up resting in a meadow of your beauty.

Thereon, all went well and we started ourlives together;
There have been a lot of mishaps and yet here we are,
Charging towards our destiny;
With you I know this is victory.

Writing words to describe how I feel is certainly not enough;
My actions have subdued throughout the years;
Manning the ship we are on, I failed to appreciate you as the other lead;
Sitting here in the corner, I began to recall..

Before I met you, I had always been looking for signs;
Staring into space, sending off my soul,
To an alternate universe of desires;
Designing an absolute fate that I own.

Thinking of you, I finally discovered,
You have always been the sign,
And it was you and me waiting each other's souls to cross paths.
For when it happened, it stayed forever.

I remember the night when I first saw you;
Outside, the night was when all the stars gathered in dusk heaven, fashioning different patterns of entities and twinkling around the crescent moon;
All the universe showered an ever-glow whose brightness only spoke of wonder;
I wonder why I wasn't there;
Oh! I forgot I was staring at my destiny..

This place went quiet. Anyway, the first of two poems that I'm sharing this month; Backup.

Hurt by the stone
Hurled from a throne
Left on one’s own
Afar from the known

A great wide view
Of the grey and blue
Unseen to you
Evermore, it is true

Backup, you need it
Ground, you cede it
Advice, you heed it
Honesty, you bleed it

Erased from the board
Escaped from the hoard
To hit one last chord
Before it’s assured

Traffic, you hear it
Camera, you’re near it
Public, you fear it
Private, you smear it

Truth out of sight
Lies multiplied by might
A group in the light
Backup tonight

August 2019 Poem 2, Beneficial. (A bit later than I had originally intended, but here it is).

A race against the inclination
Time-honoured hands hold with frustration
The note which reads your heart aloud
The darker thoughts leave you not proud

Smile or frown, both are upside-down
Expressions become the world’s new clown
Truth in writing obfuscated
Meaning loved but reason hated

The waiting game too often played
A shadow ignored, a guilt displayed
The benefit seen by a mere few
From the concoction that they brew

A withering hope left to rot
A story untold and tied in a knot
To make it back from the brink
Only to be the one to sit and think

Is it beneficial? How do you know?
Is it expedient, in the back row?
Is it intelligent, this grand design?
Is it beneficial? If it isn’t, then fine.

Drawn by the silhouette of clouds beneath the afternoon sky;
Magnified by the sounds and letters from three decades back;
I clenched my fists and released my fingers as I --
-- recalled someone dear trapped in the fortress of dusk..

Seemingly, behind that exquisite, Sangley, goddess-like eyes --
-- rests a familiar, ancient, total shade of woe;
It is hidden; securely locked like a grave of mines;
Enthralling -- I must say! But Oh no!

It fashions many different plots that are left untouched;
Like the mountains of the Ancient East;
Like the meadows of the Northern Lands;
And like the stars beyond the midnight bliss.

Her art of concealment magically secretes a strange element;
That both repels and attracts their own harmony;
A condition in which only a few would comprehend,
and fewer wouldn't judge its ever-rare quality.

A forlorn attempt to escape reality...
But I don't even know the story;
Every word she expresses in melody --
-- encompasses sorrow and misery;

Lot would name it as 'Sadness' but couldn't see...
Doldrums - it is a different dimension;
Far more dramatic as it appears to be;
Adjacent to the nothingness of plain horizon.

And I haven't seen the seabed of this ocean;
But I do fathom the depth of this emotion;
And how I wish I could assist in repressing its current;
Poseidon -- he wouldn't want an easy submission.

But He, who architects the balance of space and matter,
Delivers a message to determine its purpose;
A purpose that has to be studied with care;
Little by little, all the rivers surrounding your ocean has to be re-filled;
But the passage --
-- it wouldn't rest unless you move all these hordes of rocks;
Until then, gently let it pass through;
And the tears you treasured the most will sparkle like a dew on grass; and,
-- rejoin the nature;
The calmness of the waters will free.

Remember that an attempt to annihilate a storm is opposing His will;
Move closer to the center of it and focus;
Face to face you'd realize; the silhouette of clouds are your fears;
But as a child, you were taught to dance with it;
And........
You did laugh.

September 2019 Poem 1, Obstacle. Only poem this month as I struggled to motivate myself these past few weeks.

Difficult, not impossible
Struggle, not unbearable
Dreams that are believable
Goals that are achievable

Problem solving, not wishing
Thinking through it, not around it
This is a good start

Obstacle that you see ahead
Face the challenge, move forward
A scheme to undermine you
Only if you perceive it so

Try something, try anything
Do it, overcome that obstacle
That’s the idea, at least

A myriad of possibilities
None of them stand alone
Choosing from a crowd
Who catches the first stone?

Steady yourself now
The truth is coming
Maybe the obstacle
Might just be too great

I had my last cigar ever yesterday, 10.10.2019. at 09:23 AM

The flow below starts at 0:35. (Read it with Biggie's voice in yo head)

Nicotine I’m feelin' the need,
Craving you every single second I breathe,
I get anxious and nervous each time you leave,
Cut me open, you're the only thing I bleed,
Big Tobacco strippin' me naked takin' my money for greed,
Thinking they did me a deed,
But all they do is laugh as they collect the cash,
Bodies droppin' so fast,
BOOM epiphany - I don't know how long I'll last
Any day, any minute that smoke could be my last,
I wanna go back, change my past,
I wanna be stronger but the cravings they hunger,
I wanna hunker inside a bunker 'til it all goes away,
Maybe one day, I pray, my pain will blow away? But not today,
I wanna have a brighter future but it’s real dim for a nicotine abuser,
They brainwashed me into a user,
Made me feel like the biggest loser,
Cuz they controlled me and my habits,
Half a million people gone every year, NOW that's just tragic,
If I ever meet a genie I’ll make that shit disappear like magic,
It’s time to cut it out, grow up.
Smoking kills - you don’t believe me? I hope you wrote your will up.
So think about this next time you're smokin', staring out you window sill'
Cause and effects of nicotine are fucking real.
It’ll clog up your lungs, make you choke till your limbs turn teal,
Your organs will be congealed and your skin all peeled.
Cuz you're just a fish that’s been reeled,
Every pack you buy there's a devil in the deal
Next time you pick that lighter up your fate is as good as sealed.
I’m just here to try and help I don’t want to leave a welp,
Yeah I get it, the truth is probably hurtin',
I just wanna save your ass before you close up the curtain,
I’m just tryna make certain that you understand my wording,
Stop buyin' that shit with every penny you're earnin', dammit, stop burnin',
Even after your're gone the ball will still be turnin'
So make something of yourself, stop smokin', retire healthy in wealth,
Death will claim us all anyway cunningly and with stealth.
Don’t let nicotine take advantage of that,
Throw out your packs, don’t ever look back,
Tic-tac any minute you could have a heart attack,
From a buildup of too much plaque,
Or an immune system that’ll lack,
Bones so brittle they crack,
Those are just a few reasons why smoking is terrible,
And Incase you forgot cancer is basically non-curable,
It’ll treat your body like a broke car, non - steerable,
The only reason they still profit is cuz we're all way too gullible.

I’ll end it here cause I’ve made my point, the only smoke you should ever inhale is the one from a joint.

Grow, and grow. :)

One love.

October 2019 Poem 1, Phoenix.

Watching it die is painful
Its cry pierces through all that hear it
Turning away is disdainful
Though it is best not to be near it

The light erupts and is blinding
The pain is felt and known
The moment is scarred and winding
The memory lingers, not shown

The fire burns with an intense heat
Hotter than when it was alive
The scorching marks left on the street
Were indicative of its dive

Just minutes after the cries of pain
The majestic creature withers away
Until only ashes remain
A reminder of the loss that day

Yet those ashes do not rest
For they begin to stir
First they form a welcoming nest
And then, the unhatched bird

A mythical nest and a mythical egg
Resting in an unlikely place
To everyone, the witness does beg
To leave the egg and save face

The phoenix died today
But also was reborn
And finally the people say
They are less forlorn

There's always hope it seems.... An everlasting one...

I’ll end it here cause I’ve made my point, the only smoke you should ever inhale is the one from a joint.
Thanks for this endearing literature. I surrender to joints...

Bear the brunt & ride on.

You have to write off the bad ones,
To know what’s truly great.
You have to know what passion is;
To understand your hate.

You have to hear the awful truth,
To comprehend a lie.
You have to be betrayed;
To know on whom you may rely.

You have to fail hard sometimes,
To know your own success.
You have to lose somebody close;
To love what you possess.

You have to doubt once in your life,
To know when you are sure.
You have to come within death’s grasp;
To know what you can endure.

Listening to an old country song, I traveled in time;
It was a gloomy afternoon but now it's bright;
Traversing my sadness, I was young again;
You were carrying me on your back, asking what I wanted to buy from them.

You were the first to reward me for my only medal in school;
You were very excited to craft a wooden table for me;
I should have studied harder with that;
Achievements could have been a dozen more but I had always been a fool;

I thought you didn't care when I finished my primary;
You were busy buying an ice cream for me;
And I knew just how you pushed to get me to college;
I wasn't able to perform enough;
You were still glad when I stepped on stage. And I was grateful for that.

Oh how could I forget when you cried cradling me;
We thought I could never walk again, didn't we?
But you were the first to appreciate when I served you a dish;
It tasted horribly, I knew it was.

When our home was burnt to dust, I was watching you;
And I knew just how you lost it the moment you looked at the sky;
I could have have shared the moment with you;
I chose to cry alone.

When you're lying on that bed, were you looking back at those times, too?
I regret that I wasn't able to come just in time.
We could have still talked.
We could have still talked.

In every gust of wind, I just wish that it may be you;
In every obstacles we face, I wish that you could lend me that strength;
Maybe in time, I will stand tall just like you did;
Well, not so tall, we both knew I wouldn't get there.

November 2019 Poem, Jebediah. Something a little different, and a note that whatever I had in my head for earlier weeks disappeared, so I only have this poem this month.

Jebediah
You conspire
To be the fire
On the pedestal

I see right through you
And tell it to you
I know what you want
and you are a fool

Go the distance
Feel resistance
Back to business
A supplement for you
and your outdated life

Triumph hardly
Be foolhardy
And return
To your little hovel

Jebediah
Down to the wire
Are you on fire?
That’s more than just a little spark

Ham-fisted rumour
Fat twisted humour
A cut that is only
Skin deep

Learn yourself
Through metaphors
View the very ground
As a weapon of war

Jebediah
Lookin’ spryer
You’ve been fired?
Well it’s back to the drawing board

Left alone
Without a home
Mind your dome
Glass shatters
When there’s too many cracks

Enough subjective
Barely objective
Feeling protective
Not quite effective
It’s enough to let you lose your mind

No end in sight
Die as you might
It’ll be alright
Before the eyes flood with black

Jebediah
Ascended higher
Safe from fire
Now where shall the rest of us go?

Wanted to share something that will be in the next chapter of Terminus, a sea shanty entitled I'd Happily Die At Sea.

Oh, the sunrise o’er the ocean blue
It makes me want to dance
Until my skin is a purple hue
For that’s a true romance.

The sea, she is my only friend,
to this I can attest,
and if I were to die with her,
that would be oh the best.

Oh, I’d happily die at sea
There are no other ways,
A thousand pardons, but for me
That’s how I’ll spend my days.

A life so wild is well-lived
I’ll show ye how it’s done,
Now’s not the time to be pensive
We’re out here having fun.

Oh, a penny to my name
Is treasure enough for me,
When nothing ever looks the same
Upon the open sea.

The shanty comes to its last verse
I hope your spirits soared
‘Cause if not then a pirate’s curse
Shall be your soul’s reward.

First poem of 2020, Word Soup.

Meat, meta, mate, team, tame
All different words but the letters the same
If you get confused, just remember the name
It means another mean or median lion’s mane

Beat, beta, bate, mead, made, dame
Four letters can be versatile and far from lame
A meal for the soul, maelstrom, male name
Much to take in, so treat as a game

Game, mega, mage, lead, deal, dale
Perhaps you’d figure this idea would grow stale
Hardly, you’ve yet to hear the tale
Of the hare running late, its jacket a bright teal, what a steal

Laid, dial, leek, keel, loaf, foal
This word soup keeps pouring, so what is the goal?
A cafe saves face by saving the vase
The second before it can fall

East, eats, seat, sate, teas
Perhaps you could tell me what everyone else sees?
A cape keeps up pace, peeks at speaking peace
And in finite states there are tastes

Shut, huts, tush, hubs, bush
The possible speeds by with a daring whoosh
But by now, I’ve kept you long enough
Perhaps I missed some, but this rhyming thing is tough

Just read every poem here that wasn't mine... my favourite is Bear the Brunt and Ride On, a short little inspirational poem by @Waindo. Gambit and Waindo wrote some great stuff in this thread and Yasopp's ode to this thread was enjoyable and clever. :D

Wai always writes crazily beautiful poems.. He enjoys playing not only with rhymes but the magic of humor in every lines..
