Among the rubble of what was previously a tall mountain structure, Lucky Roux gathered Haki around his body in order to finally draw the fight between the marine and himself to a conclusion. The previously white and frozen landscape of the icy tundra, had now been transformed, warped by their battle so far. A testament to the Vice Admiral's strength.

Roux watched closely as Shaarib's leg returned to it's normal size. Smiling, he went over the abilities he'd seen so far.

His abilities are strange for sure, but not unbeatable! As long as I look out for his speed and use the mobility of my Human Bowling Ball move to avoid those giant limbs, I'll find to opening I need to finish him! He clasped his hands together, Ryou completely enveloping his large frame. "This is it!"

The marine raised his guard, tightening his stance as sparks of Haki leaked from his young frame. Lucky Roux watched attentively, ready to counter-attack any technique that could potentially be thrown at him. Suddenly, before he could blink, Shaarib disppeared from his eyes with a kick.

Lucky Roux's eyes widened, startled at Shaarib's shift in speed! He could barely see him move! Soru! He's faster than when he was in his steamy form! The pirate activated his observation haki, he had to use his senses if he couldnt track him with his eyes. Lucky Roux sensed that the Vice Admiral was above him, yet even his color of observation couldnt save him from what was about to come.

Lucky Roux looked up as Shaarib instantly kicked down from above. His foot a blur, the marine unleashed a devastating shock wave from his feet that crashed down on the pirate's body, dealing internal damage in it's wake.

The power of the kick caused a crater to form from the force of the attack. Lucky Roux eyes were blank white as he coughed up blood.

"T-Too....S-Strong...!" He muttered before he fell to the floor defeated, unconcious but not dead. Shaarib had overcame his first obstacle, but there was still more to come.​

Shaarib let out a sigh of relief; the battle was finally over. He was a little bit sad, he had to use such attacks against Lucky. The pirate had been able to resist and stall Shaarib for too long; for that, he had our hero's respect. He looked at the wounded pirate and tried to weigh if he should kill him or not. Since leaving Chongqing City, he had promised to become a new man. To be and do better, he had lacked discernment in Loguetown and killed most of the rebellion in anger. Lucky Roux did not warrant any wrong actions. He was a dear member of the Red-Haired Pirates. Shaarib wanted an interview with their captain; killing one of them would be a wrong choice.

The young man cracked his back and looked at the desolation around them. Using "Gear 3rd" had probably been too much. The gigantic punches had destroyed and sent flying rocks everywhere. All this exercise had made him hungry. Shaarib, with a cigarette in his mouth, went to dig into the older man’s pockets to see if he had any leftover meat in them.

Luckily for him, he found a piece. He took it and, before walking towards the smoke once again, threw his cloak on the fatso. He had an emperor to meet.

Lucky Roux's massive body fell to the ground with a muffled thud, causing clumps of snow to fly into the atmosphere in his wake. The Emperor's enforcer was defeated and now the Vice Admiral could advance closer to his goal.

The skypian searched the pockets of the pirate diligently before finally finding what he was looking for. Meat. Sharib took a greedy chomp out of the massive piece of red meat, before throwing his cloak over the large man, showing him his respect for being a formidable adversary. Normally, the Vice Admiral would have killed Lucky without hesitation, however, the marine had promised to become a better version of himseld. For that reason, Shaarib showed self restraint. After all, the pirate was just trying to protect his captain.

Shaarib would make his way through the now demolished wasteland, deformed from their intense battle. While he was far enough away, Lucky Roux's Den Den Mushi rung out in vain as his Captain finally tried to contact him after all of this time.​

Shaarib did not know for how long he walked but he soon arrived in a small outpost. He could see the remnant of yesterday's party. The outpost had been unused for a long; the island was unpopulated, but our hero could take into account some places where snow was newer than others. He could see the butt of some bottles, some jugs, and some kegs.

The Red-Haired Pirates liked to party, but the scene made it seem like they were urged to leave. Shaarib let go of a cloud of smoke and resumed his trip. Now, the trip was interrupted, the Yonko would never leave without Lucy Roux. They probably sent out some scout to look out for the man. Shaarib in his rush completely did not take into account that he could have dragged the pirate with him.

The winged-man shrugged and kept going, a Yonko he had to meet.

Having defeated Lucky Roux, the young marine continued his trek through the frozen tundra of Yunkiryu, determined to seek out the Emperor Shanks. However, unknown to the Vice-Admiral, Red-Hair would become aware of his presence long before they would even meet....

Yukiryu Port

Preparations were almost complete, and soon enough, the Red Hair Pirates would be ready to sail. Lucky Roux's group had already long returned and rejoined the rest of their crew. The older veterans packed the supplies they found onto the Red Force, while the younger one couldnt help but feel unfocused.

"The commander hasn't come back yet. Maybe something happened." The young man questioned, face filled with worry.

The older man grunted, struggling to lift up a box of cooking supplies onto a shelf in the lower decks. "Again, he's fine. He's one of the top members of the crew, he can handle a little marine. Now, come and help us out will ya? My back's boutta break apart lifting this by myself!"

The younger man rushed over and lifted the other side, easing the weight off of his companion. "But what if he isn't? What if it's an Admiral and the commander is already dead." They both carefully lifted the box, resting it gently on a protruding shelf.

"Highly unlikely. I heard that marines arent even allowed to engage an Emperor without permission from their higher ups. So if one's actually here, it's probably some idiot who thinks he's hot shit. Just you wait, the commander will return and we'll be outta here." The man said while dusting off his clothes, trying his best to ease the young pirate's mind. The young man, accepting his reasoning, nodded in response before the both continued their work.

Meanwhile in Shank's quarters, the Emperor's Den Den Mushi rang in vain as he tried to contact his friend. However, once again, the call ended without a pick up. Shank's facial expression was grim.

"Why aren't you picking up Roux? Somethings going on." The Emperor rose to his feet, quickly leaving his quarters, making his way towards the deck of the Red One.

Ben, who was discussing things with the lower ranked pirates, darted his eyes in his captain's direction. "What's wrong?" He questioned, noticing his captain looked troubled.

"Nothing." Shanks replied absent-mindedly. "Take care of things here. I'm going for a walk." With a raised brow, Ben nodded and watched as Shanks made his way towards the dock and disappear into the frozen tundra. Once there, the Emperor stopped dead in his tracks as the cold air licked his skin like a stinging whip. Calming down, Shanks closed his eyes and extending the range of his haki to its furthest reaches, determined to find his friend.

"Now, let's see what's really going on Roux."​

"Nothing." Shanks replied absent-mindedly. "Take care of things here. I'm going for a walk." With a raised brow, Ben nodded and watched as Shanks made his way towards the dock and disappear into the frozen tundra. Once there, the Emperor stopped dead in his tracks as the cold air licked his skin like a stinging whip. Calming down, Shanks closed his eyes and extending the range of his haki to its furthest reaches, determined to find his friend.

"Now, let's see what's really going on Roux."

A Yonko he had to meet, and one he met. Shaarib had to hasten his walk, the smoke rings in the sky were not present anymore. The forest was too dense. The soldier even regretted losing his previous powers. With the phoenix fruit, he could have flown above all these obstacles and would have been in front of the Emperor already. So instead of walking, he ran at full speed, soon leaving the forest for a vast plain. It was a zone without any trees or rocks, just pure snow extending over a large distance.

But you could feel the air was different; it was heavier. Something was amiss Shaarib wasn't worried, he stopped in his tracks and let his Mantra travel the thundra. He found his target, standing still. Red-Haired Shanks. His objective was right there, and probably felt Shaarib from miles away.

The Vice-Admiral dusted himself, took a long breath and walked towards him. He could see from afar that he towered over the older for about 1 meter. He paused when 10 meters separated the two. When Shaarib met Bullet he had been scared, fascinated by so much power. When he faced Seiryuu he had been terrified in front of so much power. So here, he was just excited. He was about to make history. With a smile, he decided to break the silence.

- " Ma ma... Shaarib Hassan, Nice to meet ya !"

Shank's Observation Haki extended for 400 meters, traversing a massive portion of the island. Within that perimeter, he could could hear the voice of all the native fauna that took residence in the area, but his eye brows furrowed. He sensed an unfamliar voice heading towards his location at blinding speeds before finally slowing down to a crawl. Even further than that, the unconcious body of his comrade.

"Ma ma... Shaarib Hassan, Nice to meet ya!" The marine said with a smile on his face. Sharrib's aura illuminated with the color red, signifying his excitement for finally being face to face with the man he was searching for.

However, Shanks was less than pleased with his trespassing AND for hurting his Nakama. "I know who you are, Hero of the Pirate Festival. You've got alot of nerve coming here to pick a fight! I don't know if to commend you or think you're foolish!" He replied calmly resting his hand on the pommel of his sabre.

"I had missed a call from my friend. When I called him back I got no answer, I guess that was your doing wasn't it?" He continued with fury and sadness in his eyes. He lowered his gaze. "I shouldve been there to answer. This is all my fault."

He made eye contact with Shaarib again, his will unfaltering. "While I'm relieved he's alive, I can't help but wonder. The papers portray you as a ruthless murderer of pirates, yet you spared him. Why is that?"

He waited patiently for his reply, his hand never leaving his weapon at any point.​

Shaarib had always been hungry for recognition, and for the Vice-Admiral's fame to have reached an Emperor's ears was one of the best compliments. As always, he took only the good, Shanks's other comment went above his head, but the Skypiean still followed the pirates's movement.

Shanks's hands on his sabre meant only one thing; he was ready for a fight. Our hero took one more step forward, planting his feet deep into the ground, his shoulders tensed, and his whole body let go of that laid-back attitude. He would be ready to retaliate.

The smile on the Vice-Admiral's face grew until it reached both his ears. The rumors were true, the old fox was really attached to his crewmen. Lucky Roux's choices were his own. He was the one who decided that he would prevent Shaarib from seeing the Emperor. An earthy laugh escaped from his lips.

- " I don't kill every pirates..." he tried to say "... I kinda do... I came to have a conversation, I had a bunch of questions to ask ya, but Lucky did not want a Vice-Admiral near y'all... I just roughed him up a little. Nothing too bad. I wouldn't kill a friend of someone I want to meet, I would be a bad guest then but..." he paused for a bit, eyes leaving the sword to look straight into the older man's eyes " I promised myself that I would speak first, and try not to get blood on my fist. But with you in front of me now... I want to take it back... My need to prove myself is stronger than my curiosity now... I will let my fists speak then after I defeat you..." the smile turned carnivorous " We shall talk right ?"

The Vice-Admiral couldn't let this opportunity go... He knew deep down that any conversation with Shanks would prevent any fight later on. Now all he had to do was to wait for an answer. Use the man's guilt to engage in a fight.

The fated meeting between Emperor Shanks and Vice Admiral Shaarib Hassan had finally come to fruition. Shanks was shaken by the defeat of his friend, still he still questioned the Vice Admiral's strange action. This marine was known for slaughtering pirates, yet he spared Lucky Roux. Why? The rubber man took one step forward, his foot sinking into the snowy blanket as he readied himself to take hold of his destiny.

Shanks draws his sword in his right hand and infuses it with his potent Supreme King Haki, it's power emitting an overwhelming pressure, most likely unlike anything Shaarib had felt before. Then he swung horizontally, intending to cleave the marine in two with a powerful slash.

The Emperor smiled and Shaarib knew instantly a fight was finally going to happen. As soon as Shanks took his swords out, the air changed, the aura around the pirate intensified. Black lightning came out from the Marine's left fist and evolved into red as soon as the elastic man's muscle began to expand, ready to respond to his opponent's attack. The skypiean could feel it, the veteran's Haki was more potent than his. The pirate was not playing, and his attack could probably finish this fight right away if Shaarib weren't serious. It was time to show the older generation that they weren't the only Conquerors.

Standing his ground, Shaarib threw a punch, a simple one, perfected over the years he learned it. A fist meant to destroy organs as soon as it hit. The fist and the slash never met. Both stopped behind an invisible barrier and energy exploded around the fighters. A clash of wills, each of them wanting to subdue the other, and as the excess of energy went upward, the cloudy sky split in two. Shanks had met his equal. Shaarib couldn't help but smile. He had arrived ! He was he ! He was at the top of this world !

His smile added quickly, replaced by surprise when he realized he was slowly getting overpowered by the Red-Hair's might. He lost the struggle, the Vice-Admiral put his arms in front of him in vain and was sent flying toward the forest. Shaarib hit the ground and ricocheted once or twice before crashing into a tree. Blood spilled from his mouth and ears. He couldn't believe his eyes, when was the last time he lost power ?

The winged man got up with a smile; head was ringing, he was not goign to survive if he kept being hit by attacks like this. He didn't even think he was going to get up from another one. Shanks was more than he thought him to be. Maybe he would be able to learn how to perfect his control over the COnquerors Haki during this fight. Shaarib left his upper clothes on the ground and bit into his arm. He had something left and it was time to use it.

Shanks, from his position, probably saw the huge smoke coming out from the forest. Fast as lightning,a giant shadow appeared, 8 meters tall, with flame-shaped hair and a humongous torso. Suddenly, a spear tore through the white smoke, or more so, a fist, red-colored, clad in hardening, bursting with fury.

Gomu Gomu no Jet Culverin (ゴムゴムのJET（ジェット）大蛇砲（カルヴァリン）, Gomu Gomu no Jetto Karuvarin, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Jet Great Serpent Cannon"): A faster version of Boundman's Gomu Gomu no Culverin. The user compresses his fist and releases it, using Python to change the direction of their punch according to the actions of his opponent. Their arm speeds up the more it stretches.

Shanks swung his blade horizontally, intending to cleave the marine in half with a mighty swing of his blade. Shaarib brought forward his fist, also infused with the power of the Supreme King, resulting in an overwhelming clash that didn't make contact. The kid proved to be more formidable that he originally thought. Smiling, Shanks silently awknowledged the Vice Admiral as the clashing energy exploded in the form red lightning arcs and a massive shockwave that travelled far and wide, raising the earth and blowing away the snow beneath their feet.

The Red Hair Pirates began to panic as the rumbling came. Benn walked hurriedly onto the Red Force, a single sweat running down his temple, as the massive surge of haki caused a tremendous shockwave of air to threaten to blow away everything in it's wake. Bodies of dozens upon dozens of Red Hair fodder took to sky as the unconscious figures failed to resist the overwhelming clash of wills.

"What the hell is going on!?" The First Mate muttered, while extending his color of observation towards the source. His facial expression turned grim. "The captain is facing a tough one! Rockstar! Gather what can be salvage and anyone that's unconscious and get them on the ship!" He shouted, immediately getting to work. They couldn't afford for any of the wear members and supplies to get caught up in their captains fight...

The Battleground..

The duo's clash continued, sending their supreme energies flying towards the sky, splitting the heavens and stopping the snowstorm that threatened the island. Their strength had seemingly appeared equal, however, Shanks would slowly overpower the young marine completely, showing the superiority of his haki. The Emeperor landed gracefully on his feet, while Shaarib was sent flying into the forest.

A Supreme Haki user huh? Didn't think the marines would have had yet another one of those in their ranks. The Emperor thought to himself, sheathing Gryphon. His voice is still alive and well! Based on intel, this kid possesses the Tori Tori No Mi Model: Pheonix. Which means putting him down is gonna be a bit troublesome...

Suddenly, a plume of smoke peeked through the thicket, causing the Emperor to raise a brow.
A shadow casted figure burst through the forest, unleashing a fist that flew faster than lightning.

It pierced through the smoke like a red spear, catching the one armed man off guard. Shanks quickly drew his weapon, taking the punch to the gut directly with an armament clad defense.

Shanks' face contorted in pain as Shaarib's fist makes conatct. Digging his toes into the ground, he skid across the earth for a few meters before stabbing Gryphon into the ground to cut his momentum short. He coughed up blood, staining the white blanket beneath his feet as red as his hair.

"N-No...way!" Shanks exclaimed between pants. Before him, Shaarib had underwent a dramatic transformation. His forearms, legs, and upper torso were slightly enlarged while a spread of flaming Haki coated his legs and arms. His hair was now as flame-shaped like his Haki, noticeably longer and sticking up. Draped over his shoulders like a scarf, a gaseous substance appearing as a mix of steam and fire. The man had transformed to look similar to a deity. "Did your arm...just stretch? It can't be!"

"N-No...way!" Shanks exclaimed between pants. Before him, Shaarib had underwent a dramatic transformation. His forearms, legs, and upper torso were slightly enlarged while a spread of flaming Haki coated his legs and arms. His hair was now as flame-shaped like his Haki, noticeably longer and sticking up. Draped over his shoulders like a scarf, a gaseous substance appearing as a mix of steam and fire. The man had transformed to look similar to a deity. "Did your arm...just stretch? It can't be!"

- "Ma ma, got ya ! It hurt, ain't it ? " responded Shaarib with a raucous voice as his arm retracted back.

The smoke dissipated and Shanks finally saw his opponent. The elastic man's body doubled in size, his wings went to tie themselves around his hips . Haki covered his arms and legs with flame-like tattoos. Smoke came from his body, forming a "halo" of protection around him. He liked to call this transformation the Battle Form. Unlike his first gear, he could travel at high speed and hit with more power without worries. To be honest, he had one...Shaarib had to sacrifice some of his defense in order to gain more speed and strength. This change permitted him to be a more agile and elusive opponent, but it also made him more vulnerable to attacks.

Sacrifices were needed if he wanted to match Shanks blow for blow, and from the looks of it, the Emperor had been caught by surprise to see the Phoenix Powers. Fallen Sky was no more. It was time the world learned the news. The Vice-Admiral bounced high in the air as his left fist retracted into his arm. He let go of the punch, but unlike the first time, the arm, instead of going forward to Shanks, zigzagged around its owner; with each turn, the speed of the punch augmented, and when it took SHanks's path, it was as fast as light and deadlier. The skypiean was going for a punch in the gut but was going to wait until the end to change the punch's part and go for an uppercut.

Shaarib needed to test the waters; he couldn't make any more mistakes; unlike the first gears, this form consumed a lot of haki and a lot of stamina. This fight was now a race against the clock.

Gomu Gomu no King Cobra : The user compresses their arm, and as they release it, instead of directly targeting their opponent, they first have their arms loop around themselves once before sending their enlarged fist flying at their opponent. The wide loop gives their attack additional acceleration, thus increasing its momentum, while enlarging the fist adds more mass, the combination multiplying the force of this strike.

"Ma ma, got ya! It hurt,ain't it?" The Vice Admiral responded, retracting his arm with incredible speed.

A smile crept onto the Emperor's face as a single thought travelled through his mind. Well, well, well. Things just got a whole lot more interesting!

He staggered to his feet, still feeling the after-effects of Shaarib's fist. Tightening his grip on the hilt of Gryphon, Shanks stabilized himself despite the pain that burned his stomach. "Don't get cocky kid! That was just a scratch!" Shanks replied, will unwavering. Suddenly, Shaarib jumped into the air, retracting his fist as he prepared to fire off another punch. Shanks thoughts raced.

So instead of pheonix powers, he has a rubber body. He's got fast fists. They caught me off guard before, but the same thing won't happen twice!

Using his Color of Observation, Shanks began to draw his blade, preparing for what was to come. This time, the marine unleashed an enlarged fist that zig-zagged around his body, speed increasing with every change in direction!

Shanks' eye's narrowed, focusing on tracking it's path. "...."

He's bending the trajectory of his arms?! That isn't something rubber can do!!

Surpassing the speed of light, Shaarib's fist finally locked onto the Emperor's body, aiming for another slam in the gut. Shanks raised his blade, coating it in precious armanment as he prepared to defend his abdomen from another quick and devasting blow. However this was a ruse on the marine's part. Surprising him once again, the Vice Admiral's fist suddenly changed direction, a gut punch turned into an uppercut. Shanks' body supercharged with Supreme Kings Haki, displaying a power that Shaarib had seen power. He layered it atop of his Color of Armanment, creating a powerful layer of defense before taking a powerful strike to the chin.

An earthy laugh escaped from the Marine's lips. It was fun, this form offered him so many possibilities. He could bend the trajectories of his fists at will. He wanted to push beyond the limits of his elasticity and who could help him better than an Emperor ? Shaarib's trick had worked, and his changing target at the last minute surprised Shanks and permitted Shaarib's punch to land right on his chin. The SKypiean used enough force to lift the veteran into the air. But as happy as he was, the Vice-Admiral knew it wasn't going to be enough, the pirate recuperated fast enough. However, the elastic man was disappointed, he thought the red-haired would be able to see it coming. But it looked like the old fox was only a master of Conquerors Haki....

Once again, Shanks's Haki was set ablaze. He rushed forward as soon as his feet landed on the ground. Shaarib was ready to meet him. The first time, he had no separation between Shanks and him, he got caught up when the older man overpowered him. This wasn't going to happen a second time.

Palm was wide open, veins pulsated on his arms, and energy was stored right in front of him. Unlike what happened in Loguetown, Shaarib had no need to be precise or to reduce the impact of his attack. He had no worries for civilian life. They were on an inhabited island. His arms were shaking, barely being able to contain the strength. If using Gear 3 with Rokushiki's most popular attack was stressful, Using it with Gear 4 was ten times more stressful. Shaarib, at the last minute, closed his fist and set free the energy.

An explosion of COnquerors Haki was repeated; the sword struggled against the energy beam until both attacks canceled out each other and went on a different path. Shaarib's attack continued in the area not covered by Shank's, destroying the trees behind the pirate. His opponent's slash went off to create gash meters behind the Vice-Admiral. Their arena had been destroyed, a real carnage, snow had melted, and rocks were flying in the air, with dust covering the battlefield.

- "Wari Wari Wari " laughed the marine " I deserve better than this ! Where did your previous strength went ?!"

SHaarib seized the opportunity to try to distract the pirate by using the vapor in the vicinity; the Skypiean wetted his fingers and threw his left hand in the wind, sending the droplets at Shanks. Each of them turning into an arrow strong as a cannonball.

O Yabusame (literally meaning "Great Arrow Military Shark"): A larger version of a normal Yabusame. The water droplets act more like blunt cannonballs causing dents in the deck of a ship than like arrows.

Shanks had closed the distance unleashing a forward slash teeming with the power of his will. However, the Vice-Admiral had no intentions of losing out to the Emperor. The young marine raised his palms and closed his fist unleashing an attack of his own.

Another explosion of Conquerors Haki surged throughout island of Yukiryu, shaking the piece of land in it's entirety. Dust and earth polluted the atmosphere as the Emperor's blade struggled against the invisible beam of energy unleashed by the marine. As the attacks finally cancelled each other out, the trees behind of Shanks were suddenly reduced to nothing, while the ground behind of Shaarib divided, further destroying their battleground and melting whatever remaining snow that managed to survive their battle thus far.

And as everything sizzled back to a deadly calm, the marine laughed in delight. "Wari Wari Wari! I deserve better than this ! Where did your previous strength went?!" Shanks gave a cocky grin in response, tightening his grip on Gryphon.

Vapor slowly filled the area around them as a result of the melting snow, obscuring the pirate's vision. But the marine was well within the range of his Observation Haki. Not wasting a beat, Shaarib unleashed a volley of water projectiles in the shape of arrows that carried the force of the strongest of cannonballs! Shanks strengthened his stance, coating his blade in armanment haki and ryou, before thrusting Gryphon forward emiting a small shockwave from the tip of his blade.

Result: Equal DPR: Attacks cancel each other out, though the area around the clash may still take damage.

Once again, their attacks cancelled each other out, sending droplets of water splattering in every direction. Then the Emperor spun his sabre in a circlar motion, before swining it horizontally, sending a flying sword slash aimed directly at the marine's torso!

"It went nowhere kid. I'm just getting started!" He replied with unwavering spirit.

Shaarib did not bother with Shanks, he knew the man would counter his attack, he needed time to increase the size of his muscles. It was time to crush the whole island and the veteran with it. The Skypiean could feel it in his bones, he was losing strength as the fight went on. He couldn't keep using "Snakeman" for so long, especially when coupled with Advanced Conqueror Haki. He had to manage his reserve before the big final. The Giant opened his hand and deflected the air blade with a flick of his wrist.

The Vice-Admiral bit his right index finger and blew into it. His upper body doubled in size; he looked like an elastic ball covered in Ryuo. His feet bounced off the ground occasionally. With a push, SHaarib went into the air. The mouth was still on his finger, and his arm was growing nonstop until it reached the maximum size. Shanks would feel this punch, strong as a meteor, right through his puny bones.

After the user compresses their fist, like he does for Kong Gun, they blow a large amount of air into their arm, drastically increasing its size, then unleashes it for a devastating blow. The battle between Emperor and Vice-Admiral of the marines roared on! Shanks spun his blade with blinding speed and slashed horizontally, unleashing a flying sword slash that aimed to dissect the marine in two. However, Shaarib remained unphazed, deflecting the flying slash with an open palm and the flick of his wrist. Shanks smiles in response, gripping Gryhon tightly in preperation for another attack

But to his surprise, Shaarib quickly bit into his index finger, undergoing yet another transformation. The Skypiean's upper body blew up like a balloon, resulting in the marine being unable to stay on his feet without bouncing.

"Another transformation? I wonder what this one can do!" Shanks channeled haki from his body into his weapon.

It was time to end this game once and for all.

Shaarib pushed off of the ground taking flight! Like a jet, he soared into the air with his mouth still holding it's place on his finger. Shanks would watched keenly as the marine's fist grew larger and larger until it finally reached it's max capacity.

"I'm here to finish things!" Shaarib roared with unwavering will. Shanks continued to pour his precious Haki energy into Gryphon. Arcs of black lightning spilled over into the environment as the Emperor relentlessly kept the power flowing.

"Then lets finish it!" Shanks replied, wearing a confident smile.

The young marine brought his massive fist forward, intending to crush the pirate's body with unrelenting force. Shanks answered back with his own power, swinging his sword horizontally, a blade charged with Supreme King's haki.

"Divine..."

Shaarib was confident, always been. The boy was young and already felt that he was near the pinnacle. He felt so close to the top. Why did he feel that ? The boy fought the best of the best. He fought recklessly, he had healing powers, he thought himself immortal. So full of a sense of superiority, he let foes get the first blood. Why would a phoenix be afraid ? He had promised himself to never back down, so he always went to fight, always chose to be at the center of any fight. The boy wanted to feel alive, to fell his blood boil, to prove himself. So he burned brightly, each time getting stronger, always targeting a bigger prey to feed on.

He gave his all and twice already, it wasn't enough. Douglas Bullet represented the mountain itself, he was the definition of strength. Shaarib in his ego refused to ally with anyone. The legend defeated by Roger had been angry, he defeated most of the supernovaes, if our boy had stopped him in his tracks he would be the new Hero of the World Government. Shaarib fought and lost badly; it took a coalition of forces to put Bullet down, so Shaarib, in the back of his head, always considered him as the strongest foe he could face.

The second time Shaarib lost, he fought an army of zombies, Chongqing City was cursed and our hero decided to save the day. After the first beatdown, the boy realized that anyone under Bullet couldn't defeat him. He rushed head-first into the fray, fought against magical beings, and took wounds that his powers couldn't heal. The boy let his anger get the best of him and nearly lost his life. The boy lost his pride, lost all the doubt he had, he had been a new man, he felt himself cursed by his phoenix powers so he lost it and became an elastic boy.

The war happened and Shaarib felt himself at the crossroads. He had fought tooth and nails to get a win but he did not feel like a winner. Shaarib felt that the world was against him, every one he faced decided to gang up on him...Some would say it was a perfect example of how they respected him, but the kid couldn't accept it. He had always fought alone, and requested the same from the others. A one-on-one was always the best way to show respect. He fought Kidd and Killer, then Kidd and Larsi, then the Revolution... If he had been alone, he knew he could've defeated them all. It's why after everything, he went to Shanks...

Today, today's fight cemented Shaarib Hassan's third defeat. He fought Shanks with the full intent to win. The full intent to defeat an Emperor like Kallavan and Spada. He did not feel lesser than them, he went to speak, ask an audience and got himself in a fight. Shaarib fought and wasn't the man he thought he was. Behind Bullet stood a more bigger mountain. Red-Hair unleashed a level power the Vice-Admiral had never seen, a power he thought never existed. A man without an arm, without a devil fruit, but still more dangerous than most...Shaarib understood why people left him alone... Shaarib lost in an instant. Shanks overpowered and knocked him out without our hero ever realizing. And as he resisted, the Skypiean couldn't help but smile. He was at Shanks's mercy, but still tried to "look" at the pirate with defiance. If he was to die, he deserved it. The boy was in the Goddess-s hands now... Ready for whatever she had destined for him.
