So far there has been no callback to this moment that took place directly after Zoro defeated Alber and proclaimed himself to be the King of Hell, I can’t help but wonder when we will get some sort of clarity regarding this… Why did this happen to Zoro and why after his fight with the Lunarian.

There are only a rare handful of times Zoro is near death in series and I would believe Wano should be the last as we are entering Endgame so no such opponent should be able to put him in a near death state besides an Admiral or Mihawk.

Hope for this being brought up during the fights with the Seraphim on Egghead have been crushed now that it has unfortunately been off screened. Perhaps Zoro would recall fighting King and his post battle experience with the Reaper in order to help the current situation or something idk.

Will this just end up another mystery and loose end of Wano?

I personally believe this was simply a callback to Chapter 86 (see below spoiler). No real importance. I don’t believe it will be shown again.

What a callback this is from Oda! In Chapter 84, when challenged by Arlong, Zoro says the Grim Reaper himself can’t take him until he defeats Mihawk.

The Grim Reaper tried in Chapter 1038!
