Well, it’s not exactly a revolution, it’s more of an open protest, no one knows what will happen in the upcoming weeks.

I was in southern Iraq visiting friends when the chaos broke out, government buildings were burnt ?

There has been a hashtag “save the Iraqi people” that trended 10 days ago but as I said, the government ordered complete shut down of all internet services, that’s why no one knows about what happened.

Sorry for the late reply, we were on the dark for some time. No internet service, no external communication, nothing.

It’s about corruption, students who finish college are out of work for 5 years or more. Hospitals are not doing very well treating patients because of old machines and facilities. People are being paid almost 115 $ monthly (28 $ weekly) while government officials receive up to 9,000 $ monthly.

The government is a joke, we are literally doing what Iran tells us to do.
Imagine the 2nd biggest country in the oil production industry suffering from all that. People finally revolted.

Iran basically wants Iraq to stay as a developing country, it never wants Iraq to become developed because right now, all of Iran’s industries (cars, electronics, even vegetables) are being exported to Iraq.
