I'm going to point out something about what Franky said concerning Vegapunk's beam weaponry.
- He said it's impossible to create laser-beams and they shouldn't exist.
That's probably true.
Beam weapons in the story go by another name - Directed-Energy Weapons and Particle Beam Weapons.
In the real world, Directed-Energy Weapons and Particle Beam Weapons are considered to be futuristic forms of technology that are dreamed up in science fiction stories or by crackpots in the science community. For example, crazy Nikola Tesla claimed to have designed countless electrical devices in his research papers. One of those devices was a particle beam weapon, which he intended to create an entire array of for defensive purposes. However, America and other nations have claimed to try to make these devices in the past and none of them have been successful.
That technology is beyond normal science, and applying it to real world practice might be unwise. For example, questioning if someone could withstand a MaserSword Slash from Big Mom may be ridiculous. That may be like asking if someone could withstand an atomic bomb exploding on their chest.
