Oden cares not how his story goes down in history, so long as those closest to him keep the truth in their hearts and see his will played out. Kinda parallels what was written on the poneglyphs...and with Noland's story.
I've said it before: One Piece the "treasure" is a recorded story, probably some play or other form of stage production put together by Joyboy. Probably some form of satire, conveying truth through lies ( fiction! )....disguising social criticism ( thinly veiled or not ) in the form of street comedy ala Punch n Judy, theater, and the like.
Joyboy too was probably a Foolish Lord. The King of the Fools even.
