5 years is more an ilusion than something that will actually happen, like Oda could have a plan for the Wano arc but the development could take more time than he is anticipating and is the same with the arcs that are coming after it, a lot of plot that will come back like Linlin and the giants, Imu's mystery, the final war, when they finally reach Raftel, etc, there is a lot to handle in just 5 years.

So "Oda said he'd like to end One Piece in 5 years" is wishful thinking on his part.

One Piece should not be rushed. It's better for the story to continue as it is even if it takes 20+ years. Too many mangas collapsed because of rushed endings.

After more than 20 years, maybe he'd want it to end in 5 years after doing it for so long but he's still coming up with something on whatever he's working on that it takes a little more time than usual to finish it.

Respect to Oda for that though. OP is still one of the best selling mangas out there after all these years. I'll see it to believe it when the end happens, which I don't think will be in 5 years.

I was just doing the math.... 5 years left means about 200 chapters. Does anyone think Oda can wrap up everything in just 200 chapters?
A lot of stories Oda wanted to put would need to be cut if that's the case... so I don't think it will be done in 5 years...

Wano might be longer than Dressrosa. There is definitely a lot more chapters after Wano
