For anyone that knows me, I always save the best for last, and this is it folks. The big reveal that I will unearth to you now is one that will irrevocably change the landscape of the One Piece world and powerscaling. The characters you either all thought (or so badly wanted) to be dead or unimportant in the grand scheme of things, I can't say just how dead wrong you are. It appears for all this time people have missed the, in my mind, quite glaringly obvious terminator parrallels Vergo has going for him, and though that may be because I'm a huge fan of the franschise, it nevertheless surprises me just a little actually that this was never once truly touched on or investigated as a possibility. Nevertheless there's absolutely no mistaken it, Oda has created Vergo with very specific intentions and I will show you just how much he wanted us to be able to tease out these connections and let us know what Vergo is all about. As such, let me break it down for you why Goda made Punk Hazard into Vergo's arc and why Vergo was the Terminator missioned to bring down the punks in Punk Hazard.

This is going to be a long one, but we have Monet working the bar and has prepared some chow and drinks for this long occassion. It so happens this 4th of december marks the International Cookie Day, and I happened to impound a lot of different sorts of snack and treats from some bloke with a weird looking firecracker buns on his head leading a BM shipment. Weird dude who hid behind cookie soldiers that I took care of easily then sent him on his way, because it was like the difference between day and night: he hates pain while I fucking embrace it! Now I have massive cookies to share as a result. Also, good thing we have Monet in case my false memory bouts start kicking in, as she will be able to help keep our discussion on track. So with that said, let's get down to brass tacks, beyond the false veneer, to see what truly lies beneath the surface of this "mystery man".

(1) The heart
In Vergo's introduction we see Vergo with Law's heart, and him toying with the heart was a big point and theme in Punk Hazard. I can't help but draw connections to this epic introductory scene in Terminator 1 where he schools and rips out the heart of some punk. This is his first action scene in the whole franchise, and a very iconic one.

(2) Metal constitution

Vergo is "like a mass of iron or something", ie he has a metal endoskeleton, same as the terminators.
It is very obvious Sanji is not referring to any technique here, such as tekkai kempo, which is what Jyabura used to be able to use tekkai while moving. Sanji is intimately familiar with this technique, so we should be able to rule out this possibility because Sanji is not sure what the deal is with Vergo's body. Oda chose to have Vergo have food stuck to his chin as one of his gags, which, as funny as that is, it also goes to underscore his connection with metals (like how food gets stuck to metal pans). So there's definitely something going on with his actual body.

(2.1) False Memory
Also, Vergo (if you remember) suffers from false memory, which - in addition to to the many funny scenarios you could play out with this - is also an interesting trait that in real life could be caused by lead and/or other heavy metal poisoning; though I'm not saying Vergo suffers from heavy metal poisoning, it just might be a small little hint that Oda is giving us here with regards to his connection to metals, yet again.

(3) The terminator's CPU and Germa DNA

If you recall from Terminator 2, the reason Cyberdyne corporations could develop their robotics technology was because they had gotten their hands on the CPU and robotic arm of the original model-101 that got crushed under the hydraulic press in Terminator 1. The whole Cyberdyne network system was in fact developed from the hardware and software of the original T-101 terminator. They needed the CPU of Arnold from terminator 1 to be able to develop the robotics that would later turn into the defense network Skynet that would eventually gain self-awareness, wage war on the human race, etc (then we get into some complicated shit about alernative realities and all that stuff lol).

The obvious connection here with Vergo is that Oda makes no secret that Vergo is the guy on which the whole Germa is based on; the blueprints for his DNA laid the foundation for their North Blue takeover. We know this because though there are many different kinds of Germa soldiers, the only two highlighted ones, the one in the cryogenic chamber and the other that sacrificed himself by the orders of Judge, those two are literally the spitting image of Vergo. Of course the original DNA template >>> the products; the original being the one that escaped and got into the hands of Trebol.

Summary: CPU of terminator = development of Skynet. DNA of Vergo = development of Germa.

(4) The perfect infiltrator

The terminators, if you remember, were created by Skynet, to look like and mimick human behaviour so as to infiltrate the resistance movement. The terminators shifted the war, it gave the machines the ability to gain an advantage over humankid, and many of the terminators were in fact so good you probably wouldn't have recognised them as traitors before it was too late. The whole point of the terminators were to be flawless infiltrators.

It's this programming that is the key, to where the best terminator can literally act the part and appear truly sincere and genuinely on your side for years and decades, only to at the drop of a hat just whack you just like that. It uncannily reminds me of the way Vergo pursued his mission to a T (as it were) becoming the literal father figure for his subordinates, but nevertheless staying forever true to his original mission, without flincing or hesitating wiping out the entire G-5 unit that he had shepherded for almost 15 years. Vergo was someone that was overly emphasised by the G-5 soldiers that they would never ever believe Vergo being capable of such a thing. They stubbornly held onto the belief that the Vergo they saw was a fake Vergo.

Vergo I think more than anyone embodies this Terminator-like mindset of staying so unyieldingly loyal to what he was set out to do, which is both frightening and admirable at the same time. Vergo remained so fiercely loyal to Doflamingo at all times that it also makes his death scene ever the more impactful, having his efforts be recognised by the "programmer", as it were, in the end which actually made him smile for the first time. Vergo would have never strayed from the path he was set out for, just like a true Terminator.

(5) The human experiments

This is actually a very minor point such that it can even be disregarded altogether because in my mind the human experiment part was not even a big highlight in the movie. From Terminator 4 we saw how the machines were rounding up humans for orderly disposal, and we learn from Kyle Reese how humankind almost were at the brink of extinction at one point. Yet we also learn some were experimented upon to make them into cybernetic organisms, Marcus Wright being one of them who after Skynet took over, they continued with the research on him and performed exhaustive experiments on him. They did do some experiments on human, yet this is not a big highlight, so I'll just mention it but not make a big point about it. The connection of couse being Vergo was the one responsible for the kidnapping of children that were used for weaponisation experiments (making them bigger and stronger).

(6) The barren wasteland caused by weapons of mass destruction

Before Punk Hazard was engulfed in a gas explosion that made it into a dead and barren landscape it was lush and full of life. Punk Hazard was even further devestated and in fact permanently altered by the scale of the conflict that ensued between the two admirals.

When Judgment Day hit, there was a nuclear war set off by the machines to wipe out the humans. The result was utterly devestating with 3 billions lives lost (at that time more than half of the world population) and major swathes of earth utterly devestated by the sheer scale of this conflict. The war with the machines further devestated the planet.

(7) The shootout at the police house

You remember the scene from Terminator 1 where T-101 goes on a full rampage at the police station with Sarah Connor hiding under a table sobbing, waiting for her imminent demise? That is not so much different from this scene where Vergo is in the process of wiping out the remainder of the G-5 unit with shigan, where you have Tashigi sobbing on the floor unable to move or speak. Both are frozen to the bone in the face of this unyielding indestructible force. Vergo just like the T-101 just kills everyone with no emotion. Vergo really looks like a robot aimed only to kill his targets. No expressions, no nothing. The police can't do nothing against the terminator, same as the entire G-5 can try their best to go up against Vergo but to no avail. Nothing can quell this man's ferocity! Not even cuck Sanji with leg break :giggle: (getting to that)

(8) The resistance used dogs for spotting terminators
Terminators could so easily blend in with the resistance that they had to find any a way to detect and spot them. They used dogs for this as seen in this clip, they dogs react intently to the presence of a terminator

With the given context, this is almost a purposeful hint using an analogy that directly relates to the Terminator by Oda, that the relationship between Vergo and Smoker is like that between a dog and a terminator. This also makes further sense given that Vergo was highly weary of Smoker's discerning presence that had Vergo be extra cautious

(9) Vergo's invincibility theme

This was something that was highly emphasised throughout Punk Hazard where he was literally portrayed as someone that couldn't be beaten, that had the drop on everyone with his mogging skill, power and strength.

Vergo's very first portrayal: a beast slayer

Now that we know Kinnemon can cut and hurt Kaido with Homura Saki (the flame splitter attack), we need to revamp our understanding of the power standings in this verse yet again in favour of Vergo

Here the smaller dragon is said to be stronger and tougher than the bigger one Zoro defeated which was actually deemed a failure by Vegapunk

such that it requires Kinnemon’s strongest attack to take it down (while again he just used Homura Saki to damage Kaido) with the added help of Brook's hax attack which, let's not kid ourselves, is some very powerful shit.

But the very same Dragon that was wreaking havoc and being on the warpath against the strawhats (in fact wanting to eat them all) that same dragon started packing as soon as he sees Vergo

The dragon Zoro sliced up was therefore an obsolete model that was superseded by the newer and tougher one, defeated in joint effort by Kinnemon and Brook. That same dragon was a ravenous one but lost all its rapaciousness and became scared shitless of Vergo.

Vergo's capability as judged by his own men

"G-5s deadly duo is on the scene. We're unstoppable now!". Having witnessed the Smile monster, Caesar, strawhat crew, dragons, etc the men are still truly confident in their commander Vergo making them unstoppable.

Vergo's handling of Tashigi and the G-5 (compared to Zoro, your favourite boi)

Here is a good way of evaluating Vergo's power level and capabilities if one does so honestly with no prejuidice or bias clouding judgment. For the zoro fanbois this becomes a question of damage control when it comes to Tashigi and G-5 and they love their boi so much it becomes a question of projecting them as weaker than they actually are. The zoro fandom is unfortunately very toxic in this question, whereas a more objective look at the situation leads to a different inference.

Zoro vs Tashigi
Now the aforementioned Kinnemon is a man with astounding power, able to hurt Kaido with just his flame splitting attack, and he channels fire into his attacks. Brook likewise uses his soul powers to impart heavy casualites on his enemies with his ice attacks with great area of effect. Both Kinnemon and Brook have dangerous aoe attacks and power that undoubtedly clears a lot of people for Zoro to handle the rest, yet the the numerous G-5 soldiers is still ganging up on them and presenting difficulties.

As one can see from the two panels here, the three are seen clashing and duking it out with the G-5 who keeps coming after them.. By no means are the G-5 soldiers "weak" when they can hold the three of them off like this, Brook and Kinnemon relying on elemental powers to try to hold them off.

We know at this time that time is of an essence, being that they have only 2 hours to escape before the gas envelops the facility. The G-5 soldiers present difficulties and stand as a firm obstacle in their way. In need of haste we see Zoro making a whipping motion of his sword, takes on a serious facial expression and makes a serious declaration to boot. Zoro is guaranteed to execute a powerful attack to clear an opening.

Then Tashigi comes out an parries it completely

This is very interesting. Judging from Zoros expression he is not holding back. Based on what he tells Tashigi, she is not putting in any real effort in the block, being that she has "got no fighting spirit". This becomes clear in the last panel when she tells the G-5 to not engage the strawhats but instead work together to escape and defeat common enemy (as she and Smoker had talked out with Law on how to proceed). What this means is that Tashigi casually blocked a serious, a potentially "named attack" from Zoro who was not holding back in his efforts, while Tashigi who has got no will to fight just meant to break off the clash, and as such didn't really exert any effort into this block. This becomes clear when we look at Zoro who swings his sword with full power and has proper footing for better strength output, while Tashigi is midair, as in stopping Zoro's attack with no footing to leverage more strength in the block, yet she doesn't even perform a proper block here, just raising her sword in some kind of resistance without actually doing some counter attacking. She just raises her sword and that's enough to stop Zoro in his track.

It's clear from this who stands as the physically superior of the two. But that's not even the end of the story. (and we know what happened yo Tashigi when she did a fully powered up attack against Vergo, but I'll get to that)

Zoro vs Monet compared to Tashigi vs Monet (who really looked more impressive)?

This is where we can just outright dismiss Zoro as a serious combattant at this point.

Zoro is fighting against toothpicks weapons here. Even I who specialise grip training and arm wrestling would struggle against my 9 year old niece if he has a stick and I’m using a needle. This much should be obvious.

Zoro is using graded swords here, sturdy and tough as hell, much thicker and stronger than the needle weapons. Hell, Monet doesn't even fit her tongs around the wooden hilt so she doesn't even have proper grip, meaning she is relying a lot more on just using grip muscles and not able to recruit any bigger muscle groups to anywhere near the extent that Zoro does. Monet cannot leverage anywhere as much power compared to Zoro, but still puts up a fight and forces Zoro to go heavy in his his blocks as seen here he actually blocks with two swords, and all you swordbois should recognise the left sword he holds, ie the famous Shushi just to block some pathetic needle weapon attack. :monkaH:

Here again we see where Zoro blocks with Shushui and I highlight how Monet can't properly fit her tongs around the wooden hilt, as such not leverage proper force in her clashes on top of having a significantly weaker weapon than Zoro

Here Monet uses a skin blade, but Zoro needs a two-armed block with a serious countenance meaning he ain't blocking this with any ease.

Here Monet is using some kind of weak ass feather for attack. From this we learn that Zoro only opts to defend and not attack, but that doesn't change the fact that he is in a position where he needs to expend a lot of effort just to block super weak attacks.

Even here you see a big haki splash, which can only have come about from both Monet and Zoro using haki. Zoro used haki to defend against Monet!! :larsicry:

Needless to say Tashigi never fought against the toothpicks. First she blocks a blindside attack from Monet's strongest form.

She then gets blindsided from behind by a fully powered up kick by Monet where she hasn't got time to react and prepare a block. Of course needless to say this kick would hurl Zoro into the wall when he can't even properly defend against nail weapon attacks. Here Monet is able to exert a lot more power, a full body motion not armed with puny, tiny needles that only serve to weaken her physical output.

But we see how Monet looks up to Tashigi's fighting prowess much more than she does Zoro, hence why she starts using dirty tactics on her and commending her skill and strength.

Now here is where Tashigi really does come off as something special. Monet was portrayed as someone that could restrain Luffy in base, yet Tashigi restrained her monster form's head. Monet is strong enough in her monster form to just chop through shoulders of G-5 soldiers (that Zoro and Co. had an altercation with) but fails when she tries it against Tashigi.

Tashigi also has this terrific feat where she's able to stop cannon balls entire momentum using no real leverage as she is midair with a fully straightened out arm, essentially using just her hand strength.

Oda highlights just how she rolls it along her sword from having her arm fully straightened out. Yeah she stopped it because otherwise if she didn't have this capabiltiy she would've never used a straightened out arm, but would've flexed her arm and use the cannon ball's own momentum to deflect it. Therefore she didn't deflect it but actually stopped the cannonball's momentum, hence the straight arm, then the panel where it rolls down slowly means that's when it hasn't got any momentum left and Tashigi just exerts perfect control over it

The sum of sums, Tashigi faced a stronger version of Monet, she blocked and made Zoro look like a fool with total ease. Tashigi has shown nothing but terrific feats.

Yet she was completely banged up by Vergo. As you can see, she is going for a fullly powered up attack (just consider that she only raised her arm to block a serious attack from Zoro) and Vergo just shuts her down with one arm block of his own, so powerful that Tashigi is seen flailing in the air, as if she's hitting a brick wall, then Vergo grabs her head to give her some beating for daring to lay hands on him. Here is where it gets interesting because Tashigi receives a punch imbued with haki.

Then Tashigi is crying on the floor and Sanji was sent in to rescue Tashigi, only he got treated much worse than Tashigi ...

Vergo ankle vs Sanji’s shin (weakest part of the leg vs Sanji’s strongest and hardest part of the leg)

Vergo is attacking Sanji with his ankle foot, and Sanji is checking high up on his knee joint. Sanji’s shin bone is the strongest at this exact point; the leg bones and ligaments connect here, the connective tissues and muscles are thicker here. Vergo breaks Sanji’s fibula which is the backbone (behind the tibia) and this part is protected by more layers of muscles in between, compared to the tibia. Vergo is strong enough to with his ankle clash through and hurt Sanji in this manner.

Vergo is using minimum range of motion with his leg bent and he is using the weakest part of the shin which has weak muscles and weak ass bones, all very susceptible to trauma. The way in which Vergo attacks is the last thing you want to do because an ankle joint injury is as good as certain. We know Sanji even has hardening as he did use it against Drake (latest anime confirms) and we can be as good as certain he used it. Even Luffy mentions in the same arc that Sanji is part of the three in the crew capable of using armament haki, meaning he most assuredly used armament haki against Vergo.

Just for reference, just look at the most famous and iconic leg break in UFC history that is almost completely identical to the one featuring Sanji vs Vergo, only the result was the complete opposite: i.e. Anderson Silvia vs Wiedman. Here Silvia loses for the first time in 7 years because he does the same “mistake” Vergo does kicking with a low angle of his foot and Weidman checking high up, just like Sanji. Silvia is even lucky he didn’t kick as low as Vergo because an ankle injury would have been far worse. Just ask Silvia who needed surgeries, titanium implants, 6 months to recover and started taking steroids to dull the pain

Vergo should technically break worse than Silvia here, yet instead he is the one that cleaves Sanji’s bone almost in two.

The conclusion from this is that because the absolute weakest form of kick that carries weak strength and has low priority compared to Sanji's block, because that was all it took to break Sanji, it means the other panels where we see Vergo ostensibly using proper stances and kicks, those were not at all serious. It would follow that if a simple kick as this was all it required, it means Vergo was completey half assing it and mustn't have put any effort into his clash. None! Otherwise we woudl've seen Sanji breaking from the clashes. It's as if Vergo just wanted to test how a shitty clash using his ankle would break someone that only specialises in kicks.

To make matters even worse, let's break down an even more humiliating fact about Sanji's clash with Vergo.

Vergo switched legs

Let's look at this picture again. The way Vergo is positioned here in relation to Sanji, how his torso is facing Sanji, how his stationary leg is tilted to his left, how the inside of the foot is facing up (as highlighted), this all demonstrates that he is clashing with his right leg.
Now the thing is, he obviously raises his leg sort of feigning a roudhouse kick with his left leg, and even the anime and various adaptations have him clashing with the left leg for this reason (yeah major epic fail there!)

the position would be sort of similar to how a friend of mine is posing in this fashion

She just needs to pivot a slight bit and she captures exactly how Vergo kicks Actually she demonstrates the kick here perfectly, and she is just some cheerleading girl, not any world class martial artist with perfectly trained and stretched out abductor muscles or anything (she is good though, competed at high even national levels) yet she demonstrates it lol.

Though there are some genuises out there who still maintain he clashed with his left leg, you trying to argue that gets you this position, and how much spatial intelligence does it actually take to realise this does not capture at all how Vergo stands? If you can't deduce that this is not how Vergo stands, then I suggest you noose and rope. Or just cope.

Biggest humiliation in One Piece!

So, to break the whole clash down between Sanji and Vergo, at least the second part where things got serious.

Vergo who first gave the impression of chambering and attacking with his left leg, changed leg and instead attacked with his right ankle (as you can see the inside of the foot is the one facing up and the stationary leg is aligned with the left hip, which means it can only be the left leg, and just see the streaks of action lines along the stationary leg that continue up the hip). This is just Vergo's way of signalling he is joking around with Sanji.

Next panel we see him swinging around his left leg for a reverse roundhouse kick. This means, and what is implied here, (but we don't get to see because Oda has a limited amount of panels so instead highlights Sanji's painful and fearful expression) he broke off the clash and left Sanji's leg hanging haplessly in the air, while he was fast enough to switch leg yet again using his left leg for a reverse roundhouse kick that Sanji barely dodges. Vergo is looking bored while doing this, as if he is just doing some light sparring with a complete noob.

Vergo toyed with Sanji in a playful manner, and the implication here is that Sanji has to be saved by plot, ie the emergency signal that revolves around Law breaching into the SAD room which Vergo has to listen in on. While Sanji is struggling for his life Vergo has to pay attention to the emergency message to divert his attention away from Sanji. A massive humiliation for Sanji.

Look again at the next to last panel where vergo performs a reverse roundhouse kick and now see how there are apparent white flames covering the page! This is rather interesting. If this is really what Oda is going for, it means Vergo can produce even hotter flames than Sanji and might even have a similar method of combustion, which is not at all impossible being that I showed how Vergo is the progenitor of Germa! Look how Vergo looks completely bored, and instad of kicking Sanji in when he has his leg up in the air, Vergo just chooses to play with Sanji just to show who is boss.

It also means Sanji who came to save the damsel in distress, came out looking so significantly worse than the damsel in distress it is not even funny. Sanji is like a Muay Thai fighter that only specialises in kicks and shin hardening, and Vergo is an all-round fighter, let's say he is a Kali fighter or more like a ninja fighter considering he uses a blowgun. Sanji who is a Muay Thai fighter got his fibula snapped almost in half by a ninja fighter who clashes with his ankle while Sanji performs a perfect block with significantly more priority and strength. This is straight up degrading! It is clear who should break. Sanji is not the one that should be breaking here, yet he does in the most humiliating way.

Tashigi by contrast got a haki punch and comes off with nothing broken, much tougher than both candyboi and Zoro.

Now this is a way to break a man if you ask me. Imagine some punk ass comes up to you with an attitude, wanting to flex his shit and be all swagger, how is it you take down the man in mind and spirit? Humiliation, my friend. Make him feel like a hird rate punk by fighting him in the most patronizing way. Yes, Vergo can teach us a thing or two about what it means to take someone's soul, chew it and spit it out, Discard the trash without so much as even giving him the dignity of a proper fight

"BuT WhAt AbOuT ThE ExPlOsIOn!!!"

ah yes, who coukld forget about the damage control (I mean you ain't doing any damage control you're jsut making Sanji look weak, so you ain't winning). I am talking of course about the explosion that Sanji and Usopp took, and Nami was in Sanji's body at this time.

If Usopp can get no fractures from the explosion, it means Sanji who is significantly more durable got no bone impacting injuries whatsoever. Nami even said his body was freakishly tough. Oda wanted to highlight just how tough Sanji’s body was by using Nami as a reference.

So this amounts to another copypasta argument as Usopp here is perfectly fine

Let's keep in mind that Sanji is the guy that could bluewalk and operate at a high level even at 500 atmospheric pressure (they were down at 5000m close to the whirlpool near Fishman Island) without feeling any ill effects from the barotrauma, in fact being perfectly fine, while Usopp is just some above average but still relatively average human. To make the argument that this explosion had any ill effects on Sanji's bone strength is an absolutely absurd argument.

Oda makes a special note just to clarify how tough Sanji is before he goes to fight Vergo and have his shit broken

You could argue Vergo was the one that was actually nerfed because he took 2 DJ attacks from an enraged Sanji without so much as giving a shit.

Look at how easily Vergo deals with numerous fighters

Here we see Vergo being attacked omnidirectionally from the same people that were giving Zoro, Brook and Kinnemon some issues, and Vergo just swiftly dispatches of the soldiers with a shigan technique that has the soldeirs flying all over the place.

I think it is the same technique that Kalifa uses against Nami where she cocks her arm back then whips it out in a speedy fashion which has the effect of forcibly throwing the opponent back.

Vergo uses the same technique but in such a quick succession that he completely overwhelms all G-5 soldiers with just the speed of his one arm using his finger to impart mortal wounds onto the soldiers.

Same soldiers that, yet again, it took three highly skilled warriors to combat yet they could not breach them as the G-5 put up hefty resistance despite Kinnemon and Brook using elementary powers with great area of effect to try to disperse them, and it forced Zoro to go for a serious offensive (that Tashigi then blocked)

Same soldiers that, yet again, it took three highly skilled warriors to combat yet they could not breach them as the G-5 put up hefty resistance despite Kinnemon and Brook using elementary powers with great area of effect to try to disperse them.

This again testifies to the mogging skill, power and speed of Vergo. Caesar was complaining that Vergo was killing his test subjects, while Zoro can't even kill the magistrate (known as the "Magistrate slasher", ie SLASHER) meaning Vergo's finger is more lethal than Zoro's seppuku :dogkek:

Casually talking on the phone Vergo with geppo > geppo of enraged Sanji

Vergo being able to hover in the air with his body straight out horizontally like this using geppo, super casually at that

that points to mastery that no other rokushiki user can even begin to match As proof, if you look closely the sfx that denotes Vergo’s geppo is the exact same sfx denoting Sanji doing his skywalk to speed-attack Vergo, only Vergo features exclamation marks for each and every one of his geppo burts while Sanji do not. (Sanji also have exclamation marks at the very end but remember that that’s to highlight the dramatic effect of his entrance) this is to highlight how Vergo was completely mogging Sanji)

One is going for a blitz attack with full power while the the other is just casually taking on the phone

Vergo's mogging speed

We see Vergo talking on the phone to get clearance from Doflamingo about how to proceed, so not at his quickest when he is chatting on the phone about various matters, yet Vergo managed to skywalk four floors of PH by the time it took Law to walk this distance some 40-50m maybe.

And I don't know about you, but I remember Law evading Dofy and Fujitora with shambles for about 30min (their pursuing Law started by the time the block C tournament competition had started and by the time the block D tournament had started Law was caught).

Doflamingo: "he used that power again!! Law!!" highlighting the speed and tricky nature of Law's shambles.

While Vergo who is never shown to be a guy that's always on high guard and alert, so when Law does his shambles to retrieve the heart, Vergo reacts fast enough to already have kick prepared and chambered the moment the heart appears in Law’s hand. Law doesn’t even have time to react to this. There is no reaction coming from him as you can see, yet Law spécialisés in speedy maneovering with his ability. Reaction speed is literally his forte. It's to be noted just how fast it is, with how Law was evading two people for that amount of time yet doesn't have the ability to react to Vergo's speed.

Let's not forget the fact that Doffy always lost to Law's shambles everytime he used it. Doffy who was fast enough to completely outspeed and mogg Luffy. Everytime Law used it Doffy lost. Law got all sorts of drops on him and humilaited Doffy throughout the arc.

This makes Smoker into someone that pushed Law harder, one dude, than Doffy and Fujitora who tried playing catch up to Law. Smoker started fighting Law when Luffy and C.O were boarding the boat to cross the lake, and by the time they arrived at the PH facility, Law had defeated Smoker. Look at the PH map, they crossed a fucking radius worth of distance, so Smoker fought Law for one hell of a long time.

Vergo's durability

Vergo took two DJ hits from enraged Sanji and comes out completely fine as we see here, no lasting damages.

While Doflamingo gets scared from Sanji and uses barrier haki to shield himself from the internal heating and DC from Sanji. You can see from the omnidirectional spreading of the fire away from the collision indicates Doffy uses barrier haki to block, same thing the second time he blocks.

We know Sanji's fire is able to channel his fire heat internally into people and objects, hence the reason why Wadatsumi who was an overinflated ball to gigantic proportions with an armoured defence of air pressure that renders him immune to blunt damage, Wadatsumi was knocked out and spitting out blood from Sanji's hell memories, which means unless you think HM >>>>G3 in raw attack power there must be a different mechanism for Wadatsumi being knocked out and spitting blood, ie the internal burning of his organs, because 2nd degree burns doesn't cause that. As Sanji is able to burn people internally, we didn't see Doffy suffer any of this, which can reasonably be explained by his use of barrier haki usage.

You see him displaying signs of distress from Sanji's DJ coming at him, which as we recall he was completely calm when he blocked Luffy's gatling gun by just coating his coat with regular koka

Compared to the counter shock used against Doffy which does not even come close to the power behind the one Vergo suffers through. It has not the same electric power to create a huge corona discharge that is massive.

This attack is literally named after a heart defibrillation procedure only meant to reset a disharmonous heart rhythm, ie very weak currents are used because the heart is very sensitive and can easily be brought into cardiac arrest if the current is too large. Law builds up a massive current against Vergo, we don't even need to go into details, it is a massive fucking attack of just pure direct current (not voltage but actual amperes) that builds a 10m tall corona discharge!

Vergo's massive endurance and mogging level of stamina that moggs this verse

After vigorous physical activity, the first thing that tends to protest is your lungs. If you do a lot of explosive training but is not used to periodisation with high reps training, your muscles may be strong but simply lack muscular endurance and give out.

Simply put everyone else are poorly trained athletes compared to Vergo, the guy that has been portrayed with never ending physical stamina, as it relates to his lungs, heart and overall respiratory capacity to sustain and maintain a high activity effort and activity rate.

Vergo never ever gets tired. Vergo has the greatest physical stamina out of any character being that at no point is Vergo showing any signs of physical fatigue in the way of breathlessness or a rattled breath that indicates that someone is getting worn down
Katakuri really has shit stamina and the same goes for Luffy
Scrabo got tired from fighting an admiral that wasn’t even trying and even admitted to trolling the whole fight
Sanji performs a very powerful kick but his muscular endurance is severely lacking
Pica has lacking stamina
Even Kyros (though he was really tried the hardest that arc)
Law against Smoker just from trying to block Smoker who is the one that’s doing all the running.
Even Doflamingo is severely lacking in stamina as he is panting afterwards

Even Rayleigh who swam across the Calm Belt was getting tired (pant pant)

fought for 10 days can’t even keep it together like Vergo

Smoker is the one that’s getting worn down from the effort of trying to damage and keep up with Vergo, at this point Smoker is the one that gets all the good hits in while a Vergo is casual

And the list goes on and on.

Law blasts Vergo’s heart with direct current (not voltage which is to say potential, but actual electric current) to Vergo’s heart (hence the name counter shock). Vergo can still perform this physical feat of blowing up a bamboo that is hardened (Vergo’s haki being of extreme stiffness and toughness)

This is one of the greatest physical feats performed in the series, especially in view of damages sustained prior to this. Vergo’s strongest attribute by far is not his impressive AP, haki or other fighting skills, but his insane stamina and cardiovascular strength and power in my opinion (speaking as a former long distance runner, I used to do breathing exercises to increase my chest size and there’s a lot of benefits to your overall strength with these kind of exercises). Vergo’s cardiovascular muscles, the chest- and lung capacity required to to pull off this feat (you also recruit your core strength and abdominal as well as chest muscles in this exercise) are his his most deadly assets, because that in conjunction with his overall skillset, durability, strength and haki is what makes him so deadly. It also explains why Smoker was so startled, not just because it indicates higher grade of armament, but because of the fact that he has such strong lungs and overall physique to perform such a feat to begin with.

This feat underscores just what an incredible stamina Vergo has. Vergo is such an endurance and stamina freak he never wears down, while you will. It’s all about oxygenating the body, breaking down that glucose that then becomes fuel for the body, and for that you need a good set of lungs, a strong heart, properly trained respiratory muscles, and overall properly trained muscles to break down that lactic acid. Vergo will always have a huge energy reservoir that you lack. You will get mogged in any situation by Vergo

A good demonstration of this is how one of the greatest bodybuilders and absolute best athlete of all time, the incredible Bill Pearl, blows up a hot water bottle at 10:58. Its a great demonstration of physical power, and he was 50 at the time.

(and just keep in mind how dangerous this activity is as it can cause damage to the eyes and even result in a lot of accidental deaths when the contained air flows back into the lungs).

Take a look again. I think for many years you people missed the massive amount of collateral damage Vergo is able to
impart with his blowgun

As we know Sanji could not impart any physical cuts or damages by brute force (he uses Diable Jambe which is internal heating and fire + the damage output knocked Vergo into a wall of solid steel) this testifies to the sturdiness of the metal railings in the SAD room when Smoker can dent or perhaps might break it off in two. Sanji would not be able to damage those railings with just DJ that he used against Vergo

Look again at the panel above where Vergo with the force of the shockwave from his dart travelling with such force and the accompanying explosion results in several sections of the metal railing break off from one another.

And to further testify to the power of his breath, you see how the railing is bent facing the wall, yet that's where the explosion emanates from, meaning sum of the sums when adding the power of the explosion with the power of his shockwave from his dart travelling with such force, the wall is still dented facing the wall! He creates extremely powerful fucking shockwaves with his breath!

Vergo's massive power as a bamboo fighter

Here Caesar gets attacked by G3

then goes on to castigate Luffy, his power, his haki, the combined power of all of his compatriates, all in the face of Vergo!
"There's already a monster here inside the lab...VERGO!!! His armament haki is unstoppable! Smoker and Law will perish! And you and every one of your friends will be dead"

The rest of the facility was subpar to the SAD room; metals don't burn and Luffy was creating a trail of fire behind him

Punk Hazard is first and foremost a facility of various qualities. On the one hand you have walls made of solid steel

However, the facility suffers from some serious errors as seen here Luffy is seen running up four floors from the base of the facility to reach Caesar’s quarters, the result of which incinerates the floor, as he has produced a trail of fire in his wake. This means that the flooring was not even of solid metal as no solid metal can combust like that, only if it is grinded into powder to be able to properly react with oxygen, but that's simply not the case here.

The quality of PH left more to be desired. Some aspects were very high tech like the walls that were able to absorb physical attacks, and other aspects were pure garbage. Luffy running around and making a fire trail behind him. The rest of the Punk Hazard facility was subpar compared to the SAD room.

Vergo who was flung into a steel wall twice by Sanji which produced a huge hole (same one commented on being solid steel when the dragon chewed through it).

But as I have shown here, the damage output from Smoker could just about destroy the metal railing, yet Smoker's punches carry a hell of a lot more power than Sanji's DJ kicks owing to the fact that Vergo as a result had incurred a deep cut from it

Which testifies to the structural integrity of the SAD room over the rest of the facility when even the metal railing is a hell of a lot stronger than the wall of solid steel. This makes sense, the SAD room was a highly classified part of the facility where all the high tech experiments were conducted and radioactive SAD substances were held. The SAD room was simply built to be significantly stronger than the rest of the facility, like the flooring that was on fire :tmm:

So imagine the power of Vergo when he first breaks Smoker's haki imbued weapon in two with a blunt weapon of his own, a fucking plant, that then produces a shockwave just from the snapping of his wrist that is much louder than Luffy's G3 Grizzly Magnum knocking Caesaer into the steel wall, just from the air pressure alone. Vergo's Onitake is very clearly a top tier attack! Consider he was stationary and used no momentum (other than from the rotating of his stick) to boot.

From these highlights we see that his arm is right behind his body and that as a result of hitting Smoker the bamboo has achieved a bent angle at its midpoint

And he stabilises it with his wrist which was not moved from the position seen above

and you can see how the left arm hasn't moved from its position either which means he just snaps his wrist to make the follow through swing of his bamboo, and that's what creates the massive dent in the wall beams that are siiiignificantly tougher than the solid steel wall that Sanji knocked Vergo into.

And Oda highlights how the shockwave is bent in a way to suggest it is massively hypersonic (very very powerful shit)

So again: Onitake is a TOP TIER attack.

Just compare Vergo bisecting Smoker with how Grizzly Magnum DID NOT bisect Caesar. That is a clear difference in power!

(10) The ultimate showdown - one man left standing

When Law stands face to face with Vergo, the emphasis is one where if he can't pull this off, no one will. In much the same way that it all hinged on Kyle Reese to safeguard the future against the T-101 terminator or else the whole future would be lost (though the latter installments with the multiple timelines and all that sutff kind of did away with the whole notion of the deterministic future :) but nevertheless). Skynet was on the verge of losing so it sent the T-101 to the past with the displacement device (another name for time machine) to stop John Conner from being born. In response, the resistance sent Kyle Reese to intercept him, and they destroyed the time machine as the ultimate last resort.

Police shrink: "But how are you supposed to get back?" (in response to him saying the time machine was blown up)

Kyle Reese: "I don't. Nobody goes home. Nobody else comes through. It's just him - and me."

(11) The poetic, retroverted death of Vergo (who survives it)

Here is how Vergo "dies", as he has been cut into pieces now in the process of being to be buried under the rubble from the factory collapsing on top of him, while also going to be submerged in radioactive material.

By way of comparison, here is how the T-101 dies in Terminator 1: having been blown into pieces, he keeps on pursuing Sarah Conner who then squashes him under a hydraulic press

Here is how the T-101 dies in Terminator 2 being submerged under a pool of liquid metal. Here the death scene is a little poetically the reverse where the T-101 lowers himself down out of his own volition into a vat of liquid, while Vergo is the one who is getting submerged from a vat of flowing liquid.

The two deaths merged into one to mirror that of Vergo. Both occur in a factory setting. Only difference here is that we're talking about Vergo, stronger, better and with top tier haki

Speaking of which, the reason for why my username is Critical Mindset
The SAD substance is radioactive and when a chain reaction is self-sustaining it is said to be in a "critical" state.

For Vergo to survive he needs to have powerful enough haki to survive it. Haki comes from willpower, ie mindset

Vergo has to have a Critical Mindset that is more "critical" than the critical chain reactions

This story is all about VerGod

(12) The parting message

This is not an isolated quote but one that is recurrent throughout the whole franchise. It's a message from John Conner to his mother in the past, delivered by Kyle Reese. It's a quote that is in fact very thematic for the whole movie series, and it's very possible (with all the accumulated evidence thus far) that Oda is playing on this famous quote in Vergo's (seemingly) final encounter with Doflamingo.

Vergo and Doflamingo are the same age, they are the closest family members (despite Vergo being off for an awfully long time) them having gone through "the dark years", as it were, together, and Doflamingo thanking Vergo's relentless and unyielding hard work he put in for the family and for him. Oda is obviously keeping Vergo close to the vest, yet he doesn't need a bunch of pep talk like Sarah Conner: all Vergo really needed to hear was Doflamingo recognise his efforts.

(13) Vergo may have already been foreshadowed in the first chapter of the Punk Hazard saga

Terminators and people travelling back through time, that's what you call a time warp. A warp zone might just be a low-key hint as to who we are about to meet this arc. Not saying this isn't some foreshadowing of some other phenomenon in One Piece, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of it being both either

(14) The island of fate

If you know your terminator, then you should know the "there is no fate but what we make for ourselves" quote by heart as it is a recurrent quote and sort of the main theme of the movie series, of being able to change the future that appears set with your own actions. As for example seen in this clip here, Sarah Conner decides to alter the course of history by killing the director of Cyberdyne's operations, so she literally writes "no fate" on the table which is how they find out what she is going to do and decides to go stop her.

See here again, a terminator reference with regards to how Doffy’s ascendency to power was “fated” to happen in the chapter just after Corazon got killed and their plan was foiled by Vergo; something that was "fated" to happen, as per the red circling of the narration in Vergo's speech bubble (chapter 767)

Now with everything that I've shown you so far I find it a little bit curious that on top of everything, the island on which the most fated events take place also happens to be a big terminator reference. I personally don't think it is coincidence

(15) A heavy dose of futuristic science needs a Terminator to protect it

The theme of Punk Hazard is one of science where we got to see high-tech facilities, the shock-absorbing doors, the ultimate weapon of mass destruction, the Smile, and the genetic engineering of Vegapunk being able to create real and living dragons. We also got to see the SAD productions which was the real highlight of this arc: the substance from which Smile fruits are grown and the target for the alliance. If you remember, whether it was Cyberdyne systems special project (that was destroyed in Terminator 2) or the computer system Skynet, the robotics technology was all going to be used for missile defence for the US army in order to set off the worldwide nuclear war that then happened in Terminator 3.

Here Vergo is basically the protector of this whole setting, much like the terminators were sent back in time to target John Connor and/or future relevant people in the resistance movement, Vergo was the one charged with protecting the SAD production and all the research that went on: protecting it against a rebellion of a sorts (the pesky D's). Vergo as the "terminator" is being sent to deal with Law, and Vergo's extended mission in PH was to literally maintain the existing world order from being disrupted. To further highlight the fact that Caesar was worthless, Vergo pointed out how "I can't leave this to you" and then following up with his mission statement that he's the one that's going to finish them all off.

(16) Vergo has among the best, if not the best, armament hardening (2nd level haki) in the series (totally befitting his dark terminator theme)

The official VC is more in-depth than Arthur's Ohara Library which is merely a summary. In the official Vivre Card Vergo scene's using FBH had a brief caption: (quote)

''It super-hardening all your body through your armed ambition, your hard-trained bousoushoku''

The act of hardening by haki is commonly referred to in the manga as ''hardening'' (kouka). Except that in Vergo's card a ''super-hardening'' was used (CHOU KOUKA). There is a prefix before the common kouka. (This translation has been confirmed by two japanese translators, and the official Databook that gets released to the public is just a summary, where there is actually more info contained in the Vivre Card that gets translated)

In the description of the Pica card using FBH there is no such prefix of ''super'' (CHOU KOUKA), so it is clear that the cards wanted to treat Vergo's haki as something special. As of now, only Vergo has been described in this superlative way in terms of armament

Smoker parried Law’s room slices with haki, not the seastone coated tip, and Smoker didn’t even use hardening like he did against Vergo

see, not the tip lol and no armament hardening, just the basic level one haki to block Law

And just prior to that, Tashigi is bisected in half, Smoker having issued her a very clear warning, that her “haki” specifically isn’t good enough to “cut it” against Law’s ability

meaning that by deflecting Law’s sword strike with superior haki to his own can you actually avoid not being cut up, by deflecting the sword itself away, and by doing so deflect the cutting effect away from you. This would be what Smoker did the whole fight, as seen here

Otherwise a direct hit from the slice itself ignores your everyday durability, because the seastone that coats the bottom of the all marine warships is seen sliced in half here by the effects of Smoker’s deflection

Or does this mean Smoker’s haki is great enough to cut seastone? No, thats probably not right (though I don’t underrate Smoker). The reasonable take is that superior haki directly nullifies his slicing ability only if it directly comes in contact with Law’s sword. It is after all from the sword that the ability to slice up objects emanates. He has other abilities not directly linked to the sword such as counter shock and stuff like melting iron bars with his hands

Here Smoker doesn’t deflect, he just blocks with nothing but haki
(while, again, Tashigi attempting the same is a futile attempt because she is said to be lacking in haki with a cleaved sword next to his jitte as a stark contrast)

This means haki can protect against Law’s slicing ability by physically coming in contact with Law’s sword itself, which either can just outright block the hit itself, or just deflect the strike away from you and into another direction. But when it comes to Vergo, he tries blocking it just head-on, hence the full body application. Accordingly, Law knew exactly what he was facing, yet nevertheless decided to go ahead unleashing an island sized room

Vergo was by far superior to Smoker in armament haki, there’s absolutely no doubt about that. Smoker who had merely used armament haki, the level one shit, against Law had his weapon coated in hardening busted in two

Good example of Vergo's haki

If we look at this panel where Tashigi blocks Zoro you can see that it produces the same sfx of metals clashing as when Vergo blocks Tashigi. When Vergo blocks it features 3 exclamation marks, and by comparison 2 exclamation marks are shown when Tashigi blocks Zoro

Versus

First we need to discuss or think about what it is that makes up the characteristic ringing sound of metal objects clashing. It has to do with many things such as the stiffness of the object, the way it propagates the energy inside the material which depends on the atomic structure. In something softer like wood most of the energy gets absorbed and turned into heat, which is why you get a typical thud as opposed to a ringing clink. Steel is much stiffer and it’s atomic structure allows for the pressure wave to transmit in order for air molecules to vibrate with a higher pitch.

There is also a phenomenon known as resonance that is important in our discussion. If you remember some high school physics, everything, every object has a tendency to oscillate (vibrate) at a certain given frequency. This is called the natural frequency. It’s at this frequency that greater amplification can be achieved when you prod the system just the right way to oscillate at this frequency. This amplification is called resonance

When you pluck the strings on an acoustic guitar, the sound energy is transmitted into a hollow wooden box, and there it experiences resonance and subsequent amplification to make it a lot louder. On an electric guitar this oscillation is instead electromagnetic, and it a sent to an amplifier that then sends it to a speaker, and the awful ringing you hear when it experiences too much resonance is called audio feedback (If your ever been in a music studio).

This is the phenomenon that would result when Zoro and Tashigi clashes. Tashigi we learn uses armament haki, ie not hardening which is the black coating. However, Zoro comments that she doesn’t have any “will to fight” and we know haki is the physical manifestation of one’s willpower, so it outright says not only that Tashigi puts in less effort than Zoro, she uses no haki in that clash (nether does Zoro who uses hardening). Zoro and Tashigi both use the same type of grade swords. Them clashing their swords does produce resonance

Against Vergo she puts in maximum effort and haki, so the amount of force generated from this clash is a lot higher (as such should produce a louder clink or ringing sound).

However, Tashigi is stopped dead in her track. She is seen falling over from the impact, as she is seen tilting in the air (this is also how much stronger Vergo is to Zoro). It’s like me hitting a brick wall with a fork versus hitting a another metal object that gives rise to a vibration as opposed to just a collision.

When Zoro and Tashigi clash there is resonance occurring.

Vergo’s arm is coated but the rest of his body that is connected to it should lessen the sound a lot (dampen it) such as his clothes. Vergo is no resonance box like a guitar.

The reason why the clash was that much louder is because Vergo’s haki is that fucking tough and stiff

Let's get back to what the fuck actually happened when Law sliced him

Now we saw how Law could cut seastone with a much smaller room, and Law knew Vergo was going to tank that slice head on like a brute, same as Pica. As such, only Vergo’s haki serves as protection here. Notwithstanding, Law decided that Vergo requires a room sized cut that goes way beyond even reasonably the perimeters of the PH facility, actually busting up entire mountain ranges way past the research facility. This goes to show that Vergo’s haki is even harder than seastone that is said to be as hard as diamond.

[automerge]1607341245[/automerge]
Conclusion

As we can gather from this, Oda has decided to give Vergo some extremely special attention. Oda has welded and incorporated a staggering amount of terminator elements into Vergo's character and his own dedicated arc. I think it goes without saying that anyone with this distinction is a big shot of the highest order! Vergo has been shown to be a monster, is portrayed as a monster, is literally based off of a monster of sorts.

"you don't fight it, you run from it"

"That terminator is out there, it cant be bargained with, it cant be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop... EVER, untill you are dead! " ~ Sergeant Kyle Reese, 1984

If anyone's playing the role of Arnold, I'd put my money on this guy.

But then, I happen to think Oda may potentially bring back ( or rather re-conceptualize ) Z as the head of some new Science Division of the Marines. But then, I think there's good chances of Vergo becoming a member as well.

One crazy idea that came to mind is the possibility of both Monet and Vergo surviving, but injured to the point where WG scientists performed some rather experiments to save their lives but combining the two to save their lives. Kinda like the infamous half-man/woman villain Baron Ashura from the iconic Mazinger Z franchise by the legendary Go Nagai.

Essentially, Monet's powers would've kicked in to lower her body temperature low enough to slow down her bodily, thus postponing her death. Lucky for her, one just happened to be laying around in the form of one of Vergo's chunks, having weathered the blast thanks to Vergo's prodigious armor haki. Or, given Vergo's propensity to having stuff sticking his face, maybe it was a reversal of this, some Vergo's chunky bits having instead stuck to Monet haha.

Long story short, the two now share a heart, their abilities....maybe even their minds. Just imagine them abruptly switching personalities or each's mannerisms and thoughts flowing erratically between one and the next. Definitely something I could see Oda pulling.

Further grounds for my ( admittedly bonkers ) thinking here:

- Vergo sounds a lot like Virgo...and the idea of a man/woman hybrid in turns brings to mind the term 'virago.'

Virago: a woman of masculine strength or spirit; a female warrior, or a domineering, violent, or bad-tempered woman.

- Note that Monet and Vergo were both introduced in the same arc as Kinemon, who himself made his intro sliced up into re-arrangeable, mix-n-match Mr. Potato Head sections by Law. A glimpse into their future, perchance?

- Recall the manner in which both were defeated, ie getting sliced and diced. Well, going back to the potential Baron Ashura shout-out, the Baron piloted a mecha notable for its rather eye-catching signature move:

Just picture Monet and Vergo somehow splitting their combined form so as to sandwich foes between their ice-spiked halves.

Quite batshit crazy, I admit, but nothing I can't see past Oda's special brand of absurdity.

And hey, lest we forget, the T-1000 itself was also an amorphous, shapeshifting being capable of taking on male and female forms

Man, long time no see and, as always, thanks for the, to say the least, very interesting, creative and well thought-out thoughts and comment. You really are next level!!

I didn't know that about Virago, and would kind of fit Monet with her being a harpy lol (though ironically she is the sweetest girlfriend to Vergo:giggle: and to those who know her intimately) but hehe that's some wild idea I would not like to get behnd but I enjoyed you sharing it!I think we can both agree Monet and Vergo survived (will of P, ie Punk Hazard ) and it'd be interesting to see whether their journeys are seperate or aligned

Yeah Zephyr seems more Arnold inspired I can agree and I would like to see him return at some point. Isn't he a confirmed former admiral, the movie being non-canon though, he was an admiral back in the days? Him heading some kind of science organisation would be dope

Btw, a buddy on Worstgen posted a theory about the new generation of pacifistas having Vergo as the new template. The newer models of pacifistas needs to be distinguished from the old ones so a new character template would probably be the way to go, and there seems be to no one other that really fits the bill for that then Vergo. Vergo just has that look, you know :) a newer, faster, more skilled model than Kuma, better at perceiving attacks, faster, agile, better fighter, etc. Idk what you think about that?

Anyways, I appreciate the comment and glad to see you're still around the blocks :coffee:

Yup. It's looking very likely to me that Oda will be bringing Shiki back into the fold, ignoring the events of Strong World movie, so it only seems natural he could do the same in Zephyr's case, as it'd mesh perfectly with the current on-goings. After all, it was disillusionment with the Shichibukai system in the wake of a traumatizing defeat he suffered at one of their hands that largely led to his abandonment of the Marines. Well, now that the Shichibukai system has been abolished and the navy's in need of extra manpower, it 'd present the perfect chance to nudge Z back into the fold, likewise at the head of a new Science Squad Division, similar to how he commanded a legion of newer Pacifista models in the movie.

What's more, as all the various factions in the One Piece landscape continue to build up their military might, I'm thinking we'll be seeing the promotion of several new Admirals. Only makes sense to me that a former Admiral who commands as much respect as "Black Arm" Zephyr would get easily get his title back as Admiral Black Horse, the darkhorse wildcard of the Marines' new forces.

Unlike some, I don't think One Piece is ending as soon as many think, nor is Luffy reaching a level of ability where he can defeat an admiral, much less a Yonko post-Wano. I think it more likely Oda will take a slowburn approach to Luffy's growth, pitting him against some "pseudo" admiral/Yonko-level opponents who may operate in that ballpark of power or on the cusp of it, but with enough mitigating circumstances to leave it conveniently nebulous, e.g Shiki and Zephyr's age. Another potential candidate would be his fellow supernova Kid, who I'm feeling will betray Luffy by arc's end in order to steal the glory and cheat him out of the opportunity to be deemed an official Yonko....cue Luffy looking to get some payback and begin the true march to Yonko status by wrenching it away from Kid. Add some possible sparring with the soon-to-be-formally-introduced Greenbull on somewhat competitive grounds, and that right there is a more natural, organic path to leveling Luffy up before his fated duels with Akainu and Blackbeard.

So to summarize it, I more or less see Luffy's future opponents including, but not limited to: Zephyr, Kid, Greenbull, Shiki.

I suspect Shiki may be up to some Strong-world type mad science shenanigans in the form of combining the dna of famous pirates with beasts -- Weevil being one of them, essentially a "clone" of Whitebeard and one of those white boars from Wano -- thus maybe giving Luffy some other "pseudo" Yonko-level opponents in the form of erzatz knockoffs of guys like Whitebeard, Kaido, or perhaps even Roger. Imagine Luffy having to face a clone of Ace even?

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

I could actually see that,. Just replace those white-colored, Kuma-based Pacifistas from Film Z with Vergo clones.

I've seen it theorized that Vergo himself may be some errant Germa clone, so it'd be all the more fitting haha. Given how the Germa clones have several variants, I could a bunch of Vergo clones playing an analogous role to the slimmer Germa goons, with the Kuma clones serving that of the heavier types. And as we know, Terminators likewise came in different iterations as well.

Anyways, I appreciate the comment and glad to see you're still around the blocks :coffee:
Thanks, man. Life's been too busy for theories, and I needed a break from a lot of the toxic crap on other boards too. Looking to maybe get back in the swing of things, circumstances permitting.

This has to be best written theory on Vergo by miles his connection to World Govt experimentationa dn lineage factor makes sense . he might be first prototype of Germa -WG warrior kids .

Also there might be heavy reason why Vegapunk banned testing kids in the lab maybe it has to do with Vergo not sure .
