I am here to present an idea I developed a while ago. This idea compares the name "All Blue" to the name "All Sea". The aim of this comparison is not to prove the existence of such a place. The aim of this comparison is merely to draw attention to the similarities these two names have.
Pangaea and Panthalassa
- The word Pangaea is derived from two Ancient Greek words: pan (πᾶν) meaning “all”, and gaia (Γαῖα) meaning “land”.
- The word Panthalassa is derived from two Ancient Greek words: pan (πᾶν) meaning "all", and thalassa (θάλασσα) meaning "sea".
- The word Pangaea means All Land. The All Land was a supercontinent.
- The word Panthalassa means All Sea. The All Sea was a superocean.
Legendary Ocean: All Blue
- The All Blue is a mystical sea of legend.
- It is rumored to be the only place in the world where the north, south, east, and west seas meet.
- In this legendary ocean, it is said that there are fishes from each of the four seas.
In conclusion, the word All Sea and the word All Blue bear many similarities. So many, in fact, that they almost seem like the same thing. As a reader, I'd be inclined to think the name All Blue is derived of the name All Sea. Not to mention, there are other uses of Ancient Greek names used throughout the story.
