The Last Stand​

"Hook, line and sinker" he would say under his breath as time slowed further down as he then launched himself at Laskey swinging his right arm followed with his left arm swinging his sword aimed at Laskey's abdomen. "Flurry Rush"

There was obviously a large amount of blood in the middle of the street now. Laskey carefully checked the bloodstain, which had completely stain his abdomen. Although the blood had not splattered widely, the amount of shed didn't seem to be from a light wound. With his experience, he concluded he wouldn't live. He stared for a moment then made a small sigh before falling but instead, he ended up sitting up on the street.

Laskey casts his eyes away from the link and takes a cigarette from his pocket and lights it. The smoke dances to and fro like an impossible, unreal illusion. He takes a long drag from his cigarette and then breathes out the thick gray smoke. The smoke from the cigarette wafts toward the sky, catching the light in a hazy pattern that tells of some obfuscated mirage. "tsk." His voice is a surprised whisper, and after he speaks that word, his mouth remains ajar enough to let the cigarette previously affixed to his mouth to fall to the floor. his eyes suddenly open like he's seen a ghost. "so much for calling common courtesy," he finally mutters.

And so he again looked at the Link. Through it, he can sift through the patterns and discern what real happiness is. If Link could see the streams tracing out into the infinite, observe all those whose lives lacked for justice and deliverance, then perhaps he could arrive at something that could be called true joy. Perhaps he could give meaning to all the meaningless deaths he had caused. If the world and everyone in it reached their end, then he could observe the true worth of mankind. And even in the simplicity of that observation, there was value. That was the only common salvation he could find for him.

He finally slips a new cigarette into his mouth and lights it. Laskey looks at Link with an eyebrow raised. "If you didn't let the past die. You will go on suffering from that loss."

Link would swing his sword having the bloodstain removed from the swords then placing them back into the sheaths behind his back. Doing so he then watched the man light up his cigarette and watch him die. Though that wasn't the case, Link was just thinking back at the attack he performed and whispered 'Rokushiki eh?'

Link then came overlooking at the pool of blood and trail leading to the man as he watched the skies above. "Since it's come to this, I'm sorry old man and I'll take your words heading them. But right now I will put you out of your misery" Link then unsheathed one of his swords by grabbing it from his back "I just cleaned this from your blood but I'll be doing it again eh" then coated his sword as he kicked off the ground then twisting the sword as if ready to perform a downwards thrust with momentum. He took a sigh then says "Hidden Skill - Ending Blow"

"I am never showing weakness again to nobody, never again!" link would shout with rage followed with a roar as he roared proudly like a Lion after it wins a battle for its territory against other males.

Law and Vanya who were watching on sighed in relief. "To think you were worried your Linky would be in trouble. He's gone and defeated him 1 v 1 anyway" Law then turned around with him placing his hands into his pocket and walking off.

The trio would head back to the cafe finding it, as the man had the meal prepared. They would ask for a takeaway and head out back down the structure and out. They would be heading out of Kyuka, Link after all this hit 2 birds with 1 stone. The 2 birds being the nasty itch of what occurred in Kano to succumb to him blowing off some frustration and his coffee.

Akuma who had been waiting was glad to see the trio arrive though could sniff blood but quieted down he knew what occurred but didn't ask. With them now aboard the ship, the first thing that was said or spoken was by Link. "Let's head to our next destination" in a cheerful way which was met with a smile as Link was back to his normal ways.

Most the crew were left with questions but they needed to know where was they headed, Link simply raised his hand with his index finger pointing out "Let's just head out and see what's there"

It had been a few days since their departure of Lemnos which one would call it abruptly. The reason why I was coming to Kyuka is something out of curiosity and gaining something out of. During our time at Lemnos, something came to my mind whilst using observation haki.' I was missing something if I wanted to take it to next level '

The ship was rocking under the waves, whilst I stood with my arms crossed awaiting a sighting that came not that long after. The sun shone downwards shining its light before my eyes. I had to cover my eyes though it was an island that was spotted with a huge tree-like appearance with large leaves curling away. ' This is Kyuka Island, huh '

" You guys not one of you is allowed to set foot on the island, this is all me got it! " was something I would yell as the ship approached the shores and the port of the island.

I'd head down back to the dock of the ship " Velvet I hereby appoint you in command and I trust you will do a wonderful job whilst the slackers Cain and Leon are still sleeping after taking some sleeping pills " as Velvet would bow " ... It's just as planned and may fortune be with you sir "

' He's at the top in some coffee shop, Laskey is the one I have to find '

" Phoenix Transformation " would be something I say, beginning to engulf myself in blue flames and shouting transforming into a phoenix kicking off the ground flying directly to the top soaring above the island observing what was before me.

# Laskey was getting old, his daughter was always saying that. He accepted to retire and come to this sumptuous place but the last months were harsh on him. He spent 1 month in a hospital bed. A young hotshot beat him to near death and left him drown in his own blood. Just thinking about this past event made the ex government agent shake like a leaf. Slowly but surely he regained composure and looked in his pockets for a lighter. He needed a cigarette to calm him down. His doctor wasn't going to be happy but Laskey didn't care.

The man was dressed lightly, a hawaain shirt and a swimsuit. He was walking towards the hotel and it's pool. The women and the boose would certainly make him forgot about his fears. Everyone treated him differently after the beatdown he suffered so he preferred being around tourists than at his usual coffee shop. This was the easiest solution for his pride. Kalifa's father lit his cigarette, stopped, looked at the sky while taking a puff and continued hoping to spend a good day.#

' He's at the top in some coffee shop, Laskey is the one I have to find '

This was supposed to be in italic

I soared in the sky and proceeded to flap his wings looking over the island itself especially its large leaves that folded outwards and the life above the leaves. I would begin to flap my wings downwards heading to land comfortably landing on the top. ' Finally, I'm here and now I need to find Laskey '

I'd head out to locate the man, though I'll ask here and there as no one gave me the answer I wanted running frantically from one area to the other.

It wasn't long before I was informed of a fight that took place a little over a few months where Laskey was on the receiving ending of a bloody beating by a blonde swordsman. What was also told that the blonde young man was named Link.

" I see and could you tell me where he is, I have some questions I'd like to ask him. Please and thank you. " I'd say as they look bewildered. I was informed that they will inform Laskey that I have come to see him so he can be prepared to see me. There wasn't a single trace of animosity or any hidden meaning behind what I would say. It was done calmly and in a humble manner.

" Sure I don't mind waiting, though tell him I'll be at the coffee house."

# Laskey just arrived at the hotel when he received a call from his coffee shop. Another troubled person was looking for him. A stranger wanted to meet Laskey. Last time a stranger asked for him, the old man finished at the hospital. All the retired agent wanted was a day of peace. His first thought was to not even try to come back to the coffee shop. That dude was going to wait the whole day, but then, if the man wanting to meet him was like Link, the workers at the shop were in danger. Even though he tried to never shows it, he liked them young folks. Retirement was supposed to be about peace and rest. He didn’t chose a resort island for strangers to look for an opportunity to beat him up every now and then. Wounds he didn’t suffer roaming the world as a CP agent, he was getting now. Taking two quick puffs, wondered how was his daughter. Then he let out a deep sight and began walking his way back to the coffee shop.

I made my way to the coffee house noting the aroma of the caffeine in the air, it was like the smell had me smitten and began to lure me in. I licked my lips wanting a cup. ' Is this Kyuka Island's own blend of coffee that can only be found here? '

My mouth salivated as I gawped and headed towards the door opening it which had the doorbell ring to announce someone arrived. With every inch of the door opening the more the aroma got heavier and began to surround me. It would as if on a good summer's day when you reach the pinnacle of a hill and allowed the gust of wind to engulf you.

I was greeted as I opened the door, as the aroma was rich from not just coffee, but the aroma of freshly made cakes, doughnuts, and cookies. I'd stare at the menu for a few seconds before giving out my order " I'd like a Caramel Frappucino, Mid so Grande size, with the use of Semi-skimmed milk and oh I'd like some of the caramel drizzles over it, thanks. "

I'd give me an order and look around and notice a booth opened ... " Oh and I'd like 2 of your chocolate chunk cookies and I'm over there " pointing at the booth.

I had a good 5 minutes to wait as they made my order and handed it over, though before the worker would leave I'd ask her " Does Laskey still work here by any chance? "

She would respond yes he does but unfortunately not that long ago a blonde hair young man came here and beat him to an inch close to death. I'd carefully listen ' Link, just what the fuck did you do to his man? ' It would be as she would be speaking I'd be lost thinking of just what heinous act did Link commit. In a matter of a few minutes, she'd respond saying Laskey should be arriving soon anyway someday or sometime sooner or later.

" Well if you see him, could you ask I want to see him? It's somewhat urgent thank you... "

# It’s been 10 minutes since Laskey arrived at destination. The man sat on a bench in front of his shop. This wasn’t his first rodeo. When you spend most of your live as an assassin, some habits were tough to lose. While he savored the nicotine, he tried to scan the inside of the shop using his observation Haki. You had some clients like always, chatting and drinking. On a normal day, he would have to analyze things much more to find out who wanted something from him but today, as he feared, it was too easy to find the target. At the counter an odd man was talking to one of his worker while tasting one of their hot beverages.

At least the stranger tried to look friendly thought Laskey while taking another puff. He looked at the man for most of the time he sat here and Laskey couldn’t decipher on wjat side he was. So he would’ve to talk to the stranger himself.

The old man threw his cigarette, took of his glass, rub his eyes; got up and walked towards the door of the coffee shop. Took a deep breath and pushed it and as the bells rangs he said :

- « Ma ma, who was after me ? »#

It didn't take long for the man himself to find me. Word had gotten around enough to get to the man.

- « Ma ma, who was after me ? »#

Before I'd glance over to where that voice came from " Thank you for your help " would come out of my mouth to the barrister. I'd then turn over to where the voice came from.

" Before we talk if you don't mind I really wanna finish this coffee and these scrumptious cookies. Like for real, you can't go wrong with these cookies. " My answer was friendly so was my tone but I had that cheerful smile as I was enjoying every sip and every bit of taste.

It was just a matter of moments before I would finish then proceed to head before the man, who had the aroma of cigarettes coming from him. " Hey, smoking's bad for you. You should really quit. " This would be the first thing I'd say before going back to the topic of the true reason why I came here.

" I take you are Laskey, right? " I'd sigh in between what I would say next ... " Did you by any chance teach a blonde hair man certain martial art? ... And if you are I'd like you to teach me " ... It was a humble request of mine. But observing what I learned and the appearance of the man, he was reeling from his battle against Link still.
