The Invasion | The Match-Ups! - #4

The battle had begun. The Plague trio had jumped in the fray, decimating the troops. Each slash was one man down, and down the fodder went. La Spada, on the other hand, made a bee-line towards the Captain. Fodders wouldn’t dare engage The Grim.

Zalera mowed down the opposition. His sharp senses out for the main crew. Suddenly, bullets whizzed. In his mind eye, Zalera saw the bullets incoming. He twisted his body to avoid and hardened with haki. One missed, and another passed through his left calf, passing through his fleshy part.

Zalera turned to Métis. He used his free hand to pass his finger through his leg, picking up the blood that dripped. Ominously, the man licked his bloody fingers, enjoying it with a sadistic smile. These were men dark. Zalera drew his rifle and slid his additions to the gun. He was ready for the marksmanship battle.

Zalera Durability: 81-100: 5. Town Level + CoA Hardening +2 = 120: 7. Mountain Level

Metis Attack: 101-119: 7. Town Level vs. [Zalera Durability: 120: 7. Mountain Level
DPR 2 or more below dura: Not very effective
Charon was ready for Tenma. His approach was blatant. When Tenma jumped to slash down, Chaton’s eyes glowed red. He extended his left hand and grabbed the fodder next to him. With no hesitation, Charon brought the fodder forward, to act as a shield. The X-slash hit the fodder, immediately finishing him off. Blood splattered everywhere.

[La Spada] “Careful where you’re aiming, young man. Charararara...”
Charon jested. While the head rolled, what was let of the severed body of the fodder Gray Cloud Pirate Charon held in his left hand. His right held his scythe, now glowing in the sunlight. These were men wicked. Charon was prepared for battle.

The girl, Sour, danced galmarously, bringing her blades forearm to the fodder. She focused on them. Slaying them in quick succession, she mowed through them. On the corner of her eye, Sour saw La Spada approaching two fighters. She did not come to her captain’s aid. Instead, the girl curled a smile and spoke beneath her breath.

[Sour] “I hope you die today, Devil...”

The Grim walked ominously towards Xana and Adrya. With every step, the area surrounding them got colder, as if her cold soul took to the air. The woman chuckled wickedly as she approached. When but a few meters from the duo, she lit her cigar and as it caught fire, she spoke.

[La Spada] “Before you begin your pathetic struggle to survive, I should warn yah’. Yah’ chance of winning is nonexistent.”

The Grim inhaled and took a puff of smoke. The smoke came out her mouth and eye sockets, a truly dissatisfying sight. She curled a grin, her confidence in full display. She felt them beneath her.

Suddenly, The Grim brought her right hand up, bones cracking as he presented the arm. The left, her golden hooked hand, was put behind her back. She chuckled madly,

[La Spada] "Observe. Mah’ right hand…it’s strength alone is enough to crush Yah’ like tha’ little bugs you are, so as ah’ special one time bonus, today, I will fight Yah’ both while my other hand is behind my back. So now tha’ we’ve got the ground rules settled, shall we begin?"

With a tone of arrogance and glee on toying with the duo, La Spada slowly drew the blade at her hip. The blade danced in the sunlight, with its beautiful frame denoting one of the Top 12 swords in the world: the cursed sword Shodai Kitetsu.

The Grim pointed it at them, stretching her bony arm. Suddenly, the tip of the blade glowed green. In a bust of energy, several laser-like blasts of green light shot from the tip of the blade. Like shotgun, hence its name, a barrage of blasts sought the two opponents.

Rivaling the speed of a laser, they came upon the two. The blasts, if their target true, would damage like a gunshot, and freeze anything it hits. Shotgun. Behind the blasts, La Spada dashed towards the two, closing the gap. She cackled as she went, her long cloak flapping behind her. He face with glee, like a mad hunter cornering prey.

La Spada in the New World!
@Ichimonji

Glaring at Zalera, Metis quickly understood that a showdown was going to happen, whether she wants it or not. Holding Blaze, her personalised rifle that is powered by a flame and a heat dial. It works similar to a flamethrower, except that it shoots fire balls instead of streams of fire.
Running towards her foe, Metis needed to be closer for whats to come. In a quick manoeuvre, she avoids her crew members who were vastly outmatched by the three cronies. She leaps as she was about a dozen meters from Zalera and shoots 4 fire ball sized bullets. By using CoO, Metis made sure that each shot accurately precise. If successful, the bullets would burn her target, she aimed for her arms.

[La Spada] “Careful where you’re aiming, young man. Charararara...”
Hearing those words didn't sit too well with Tenma. Holding his sword horizontally, exactly above the shoulder of his sword arm, he performs a circular swing that launches the air compressed projectile spiralling towards the foe. This is was a common swordsman move called "Pound Ho". As the attack was sent, Tenma without an expression on his face mumbled to himself.

"How do you like my aiming ? jerk..."

Smiling at La Spada, Xana knew that fighting was the only way. Looking at her foe as she points her blade at them. As it glowed, Xana immediately took cover as the green laser was launched moments later. Unfortunately, Ardyn didn't react fast enough. The hit took out Ardyn by freezing on the spot. Xana didn't seem to care, as she started to realise that she might not make it alive if she doesn't do anything. Shaken but not completely frozen by the situation (no pun intended), Xana held tightly her spear, that she had already took out. Just as she was about to make a move, La Spada appeared right next Xana. She used her quick agility plus the distraction of her attack.

"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ?!"

She didn't even wait for a reply before thrusting her spear forward. By various dials, Xana activated her thunder dial that would release an electric shock on impact. If successful, her attack that is imbued with invisible CoA, would thrust into La Spada releasing an electro shock on impact.

The Invasion | Losing Hope! - #5

The decisive battle had begun, one to echo through the island and written in the land’s history books. The match-ups had been set. Zalera vs. Métis. Charon vs. Tenma. La Spada vs. Xana. For however long they need to persist. It was a full-on invasion, with no possibility of diplomacy. Only terror.

Zalera‘s hand blurred in response to Meti’s own. Three shots placed mere a millisecond after followed her volley. Zalera shot theee shots that hit the oncoming bullets at an angle, parrying them to the side. The fire roared upon impact, and from the fire Zalera’s barrel appeared.

[Zalera] “Sonic Shot! Double!”

Zalera had stepped forward, shooting a volley of C-Rank bullets at Métis. These were different. Four bullets. Two went for her abdomen. The other two, however, were shot in succession and over her right shoulder, completely missing. Hoping she would believe they were a miss, they had a special function.

The second bullet in that duo that missed was faster, aided by a smaller bullet frame and a longer recharge. It would aim to hit the first bullet from the side as it passed Métis. With unbelievable precision and skill, it would cause the first bullet to bounce off and come to Métis’ right shoulder. If successful, the bullet would explode into a sticky substance, like a spider’s web, aiming to disable Metis’s shooting arm.

[Charon] "River Styx. Make room for more on your loving waters."

With a tone of dissolve, Charon whispered to himself. In the corner of his eyes, he saw Arryn being frozen. Yet Tenma purged on. With dexterity and skill, a Phoenix-shaped airblade came for Charon, head-on. This time, Charon pushed off his lead foot, bringing his scythe back and slashing at the airblade.

With higher strength, the airblade was dissipated, the slash and it clashing to an equal. Charon, on the other hand, kept dashing forward, performing a high-speed movement towards Tenma. He tossed the corpse of Tenma’s late crewmate at him as a distraction. From behind the corpse, Charon jumped slightly and brought the bladed part diagonally downward. The slash would cleave through the corpse unexpectedly and continue on in an attempt to slash Tenma’s upper body.

[Charon] “Thor’s Assault!”

Death moved forward with a maddening and sinister chuckle. Adryn was too slow for the oncoming attack, frozen in place. Xana was not deterred, showing the will of a captain. But in front of the Grim, how long would that last?

Captain Xana, in desperation and rage, attacked blindly. Her spear, charged with lightning, came forward. La Spada‘s grin was ever wide, and her sword came in a blocking maneuver by holding it backwards. The tip of Xana’s spear hit the body of La Spada’s blade, stopped cold, literally. Soul Parade.

[La Spada] “How pathetically entertaining. Kuhahahahha!”

As soon as the attack was blocked, devoid of its power, a crackling sound echoed. Rapidly, ice began to form on the tip of the spear, a power emmiting from Spada’s very soul, quickly advancing down the body of the spear. It fuzed the spear and La Spada’s sword like glue. It would aim to encase the whole spear in ice. If Xana did not let go, it would continue through her arm.

The lightning that was discharged was conducted through the spear, through the sword, and through La Spada’s body. However, Xana would note it would not even bother La Spada. Made of bones with no living tissue or organ, lightning had no effect on the Grim, not even a tingling sensatio.

[La Spada] “Who am I? Yah’ haven’t figured it out, mah’ dear worm? I. Am. Death.”

La Spada’s eyes pierced forward. Her will tantamount. Xana outmatched, La Spada introduced herself formally. Her words came with conviction and malevolence, as if to squeeze the last bit of hope Xana had.

[La Spada] “If Yah’ intend to beg, now is tha’ time. Oh, how very sweet tha’ melody of hope begone. Perhaps mah’ pure little heart will be swayed into sparing yah’. After all, I am a humanitarian. Kuahahaha!"

With a louder malevolent chuckle, the Grim‘s aura rose. She seemed to be in glee of taking every last bit of hope Xana had. Suddenly, green light emitted from her body, as if preparing for Xana’s death.

Note: You forgot to factor in some stats in the DPS calculation. Tenma‘s attack goes off strength, Métis shot goes off sniper mastery, and Xana’s A Rank is +3. Doesn’t make a difference here, but just FYI :D

Zalera Attack
(Gunslinging) 81-100: 5. Large Building Level + 1 C Rank Bullet = DPS of 101-119: 6. City Block Level

Charon Attack:

(Strength) 81-100: 5. Large Building Level + 2 B Rank Tech = DPS of 8. City Level

Thor’s Assault: The user jumps and raises their axe/scythe. Using their body weight and gravity to aid the swing, the user brings it down with full force, flipping over the axe. The axe causes friction in the air, electrifying it momentarily, having the added effect of shocking the opponent, hence its name.
Requirements: 51 Mastery, 51 Strength
Destructive Potency Rank: B

Spada Defense vs Xana Attack
Spada (Strength) 101-119: 6. City Block Level +2 B Rank = 8. Island Level
Xana (Strength) 61-80: 4. Small Building Level + 3 A Rank = 120: 7. Mountain Level

Soul Parade - A defensive maneuver, the user holds the sword backhand while the Chill of the Underworld is imbued, and blocks an attack, freezing anything it touches. The ice slows down the attack and muffles the power behind it. The defensive effect depends on the user’s DF against the power source of the attack.

  • If DF is two or more brackets higher: -3 DPS
    • If DF is one bracket higher: -2 DPS
    • If DF is equal: -1 DPS
    • If DF is lower: No effect
Requirements: 70 DF, 61 Fencing
Rank: B

La Spada Attack
(DF Mastery) DPS of 101-119: 6. City Block Level

La Spada in the New World!
@Ichimonji

-Métis-

Shocked as she saw Zalera countering all 3 of her fireballs. Although stunned by this development, the sniper hasn't lost focus. The contrary her will to survive made extremely cautious. Seeing her foe step forward, Métis immediately reacted. With difficulty, she perceived the shots and leaped on the side trying to avoid the attacks. The bullets aiming his abdomen missed their target, however the other two were able to hit him, but not where it was intended to land. Due to sudden move, Métis was hit on her right rib. Screaming as the bullet hit her, the pirate managed to survive the attack. She however felt the sticky substance as she tended to her wound.

Zalera ( DPS of 101-119: 6. City Block Level) vs Métis (Dura 61-80: 4. City Block Level) = Zalera Won
DPR 2 or more higher than dura: super effective.

"Screw them.. First chance I get I'll ditch them - Métis' thought

Holding her rifle, Métis took the decision to distract her foe and attempt to flee. She had enough of all this self-preservation. Having enough of her situation, she ran straight for Zalera. Running through her pain, Métis leaped forward as she released a barrage of fireballs at her foe infused with invisible haki. If successful, Métis would use that moment when her foe is distracted to flee by running to the sides.

-Tenma-

Tensed as he looked at his opponent stopping his attack without even breaking a sweat. Holding a tight grip on his blade, Tenma swiftly moved to the side as he saw the motionless crew mate being thrown at him. He didn't even care for the disrespect, even tho he wasn't one to accept disrespect, Tenma was interested in surviving at the moment.
Unsheathed his second sword, the swordsman who just coated his swords with CoA.
Avoiding the dead projectile, Tenma would see Charon hiding behind. If Charon's attack when on, Tenma would start to rapidly spin around himself, while pointing his swords in front of him. Rapidly spinning around himself, if successful, Tenma woud block the attack and push him back, while causing some cuts if touched by the mini tornado.

"So what's your name ? If you're keep on disrespecting, you can have the decency to fully introduce yourself!" - Tenma said in a cold demeanour.

- Xana

Immediately jumping back as she drops lets go of her spear, Xana stopped several meters back. Stressed out, Xana so as her spear was turned into ice. Now irritated, Xana put her hand behind right under her cape and took out something from her back. It was a smaller spear from the one before. It was her handheld spear that had a reject dial in it. Smiling at La Spada, Xana's spear started to change color, it took a black color. The pirate captain had just infused hardening CoA on her reject spear.

[La Spada] “How pathetically entertaining. Kuhahahahha!”

[La Spada] “Who am I? Yah’ haven’t figured it out, mah’ dear worm? I. Am. Death.”

[La Spada] “If Yah’ intend to beg, now is tha’ time. Oh, how very sweet tha’ melody of hope begone. Perhaps mah’ pure little heart will be swayed into sparing yah’. After all, I am a humanitarian. Kuahahaha!"
" Listen If you think that...."

Xana stopped talking after seeing the green light coming from her enemy's body. Knowing exactly what it could, she knew that she needed to act fast. Holding her spear forward, clicking her heels together, Xana activated her jet dials that were located in her shoes. In a swift movement, she screamed as he launched her spear forward. If successful, she would use this attack to impale her weapon through her foe's chest.

The Invasion | Chill of the Underworld! - #6

Métis v. Zalera

With sly and ingenuity, the gunslinger had landedhist on Métis. The woman held her abdomen, glue holding the area steadfast. Zalera cackled, reloading his bolt-action rifle as he stared Métis down. His mouth clad in a malevolent grin.

The woman went on the attack. Fireballs much as before, Zalera met the bullets par for par in the air with his own, the fire, however, continued. The fire covered Zalera. From the fire, Zalera stepped out. Now, his face was revealed, showing his face already burnt. Too old wounds for Métis attack. No, he had long sustained those wounds in the lake of fire. These were nothing.

Zalera turned to Métis, her now a distance away. Fleeing. Zalera raised his rifle to her. The man’s finger was on the trigger. The music intensified. Suddenly, he let go of the trigger.

[Zalera] “Gorgon Sisters. One flees towards the dock. Establish a perimeter. Do. Not. Let. Her. Escape.”
The ca-cha of a den den mushi echoed. Zalera had contacted those left behind on the ship. There was only one dock. Zalera turned towards Xana. He felt La Spada’s spirit roused and shook his head; he knew what would be next.

Tenma v. Charon

Scythe in hand, Charon slashed through the cropse and at Tenma. A move that would deter the most calm, yet Tenma was unwavering. The swordsman spun and countered. Charon was pushed back, his body skidding to the ground, until the old man stabbed his scythe in the ground to stop his momentum.

Face-down and his body damp with blood, the old man chuckled. He chuckled until he came to a loud cackle. The man slowly stood up, his eyes now bloodshot. He addressed Tenma.

[Charon] “The ferryman of the River Styx; Charon. Pleased to make your acquaintance, surely.”
[Charon] “Your skills are impressive. Many have fled, yet you still stand stalwart in the face of death. It’d be a shame to transport you through the River Styx today...”
Charon spoke freely. The chaos around them had begun to subside. By now, Sour would have already knocked the remaining 50 fodder unconscious. Even they could see Métis fleeing. And off to the side, La Spada’s spirit was roused. Roused to the extent the two warriors would feel the horror mounting.

[Charon] “Do you feel that? The Grim Reaper beckons. By the end of this sentence, your captain and crew will be gone. I invite you to live, and serve us. Or die like a dog!”

La Spada v Xana

Maddening cackled echoed. The captain of the Spada Pirates, the Grim, froze the spear and Xana’s hopes. Xana, true to her captain’s name, preferred to die. She drew a second spear and tinted it black. La Spada threw Xana’s original spear to the side and hardened her sword as well.

Both captain’s spirit roused. This was the moment.

La Spada’s eyed flashed red right before Xana activated her Jet Dial, her mind eye getting a view. Suddenly, Xana’s spear would go through the black cloak La Spada wore. The impact tore through the back of the cloak like a dagger.

Suddenly, the black cloak fell on the spear; there was nothing in it. That dark sarcastic voice came from behind Xana, as an unnerving cold, as if from the Underworld, took the area.

[La Spada] “I grow bored of Yah’ pathetic attempt to lI’ve. Besides... tha’ sun is shining, tha’ ocean is a sparkling blue, tha’ mountains can be seen in the background. It’s positively perfect... for Yah ’ death!
At the end of those words, ice would theoretically began to form on Xana’s body. Particularly, one long streak of ice from top to bottom of her body, across the middle of her body. When La Spada sheathed the last of her sword, the attack would be apparent.
[La Spada] “Kasuriata Fubuki Giri!
La Spdada used her superior speed and mantra to careen past Xana as she attacked, allowing the spear to miss and continue on, leaving the cloak as a distraction. The Grim Reaper used an iai resheathe technique to attempt to slash Xana vertically as she passed her. If successful, the slash had the power to bisect a small island and freeze it to the root of the earth.

Mercy was not a word The Grim knew.
La Spada DPS:
(Strength) 101-119: 6. City Block Level +4 (S-Rank) + 2 (hardening) = 12. Large Country Level

Song of Scratches: Blizzard Strike - Combining his incredible speed and his Devil Fruit ability, the user uses an iai resheathe technique, but he sheaths his sword from top to bottom and the streak mark he creates with his "chilled" sword freezes the opponent's blood. The wind produced from this technique contains the essence of the chilling winds of the underworld itself.

Métis v. Zalera
As Métis fled, she swerved right next to a big rock located not too far. Crouching behind it, Métis put her hands on the ground and opened a hatched situated right next to rock. It was a hideout made in case if the World Government showed up. She knew better than to run straight to the docks. Unaware of the threat of the Gorgon Sister, if they wish to kill her, they'd have to find her first.

The underground hatched was actually quite small, it was not meant to be a long term solution.

Tenma v. Charon
Looking at his assailant, Tenma faced revealed a tensed look. It was the first time, that he had ever came across opponents who seemed to this powerful. Remembering in a flash all that has transpired since their first attack, the swordsman started to feel like he was facing "Death" itself. Revealing a smirk on his face, Tenma screamed loudly.

"MY NAME IS TENMA!
I DON'T KNEEL TO ANYONE! EVEN IF IT'S FROM DEATH ITSELF"

Holding up his blade, Tenma dashed towards his opponent with his sword held outstretched in one arm. He then executes a two handed overhead swing used to split his opponent into two from the top down, while screaming "DAISHINKAN". Coated with CoA, Tenma was aiming to cut his opponent in half. He knew that this enemy deserved a swift and all mighty attack.

La Spada v Xana
"What ?!" - Exclaimed Xana as she hears La Spada's voice coming from behind her.

Looking at the cloak that had just dropped on her spear, Xana body just froze. It seemed that La Spada didn't only win in the fighting department, she was also win in the psychological warfare. Hearing her speak again made Xana shiver like if the voice was going through her. Trying at best to regain her composure, the pirate captain attempted to turn around to face her boogywoman. However, in the same time La Spada connected and was successful. As the vertical slash was made, Xana looked at her foe. Glaring at the eyes, she understood why she couldn't win. Being somebody that is obsessed with living, facing a crew like La Spada, a crew that is basically undead was the worst thing for Xana.

Dropping her weapon, with a tear in her face. Xana fell to her knees and did the unthinkable, she begged for her life.

" Please.... Let me live... I would anything to live..."

Tenma:

Daishinkan: Daishinkan consists of the user running towards his opponent with their sword held outstretched in one arm. He then executes a two handed overhead swing used to split his opponent into two from the top down.

The Invasion | Joining the Crew! - #7

Zalera, Sour, Charon & Tenma

Many had fallen. Few remained. What was once a plethora of Pirates were now withered to Xana, Tenma, and the hiding Metis. Maelstrorm Island and its protectors were on its last legs. A calamity had befallen the island. A calamity known as the Spada Pirates.

Metis had hid and Zalera did not pursue. Sour had finished knocking out the remaining 50 fodder. All that remained was Charon and Tenma. Picking himself up, Charon had proposed that most wicked: join the Spada Pirates, or die.

Tenma responded with spirit. He would not yield. Not even from death itself. The man would never be loyal to another, even Death. The Pirates’ answer was clear. Clearer still with a battle roar. Tenma attacked.

Charon, his eyes widening in surprise to one who would court death, did not move. Instead, he froze. The moment Tenma came down with the blade, Charon smirked. Suddenly, a clink echoed. Tenma would feel a great force hitting the side of his blade as it came down, pushing it aside before it hit its mark.

[Zalera] “Stop toying with your food, old man.”
[Charon] “Charahahahaha. Not this one. He chose death!”
Zalera’s voice came from a few meters to Tenma’s side. The man’s rifle was held up, smoke coming out of the barrel. Zalera had shot the side of Tenma’s blade as it came down, re-directing it. It would slam into the ground beside Charon, leaving a mark but nothing more.

If Tenma looked around him, he’s see Charon in front of him, Zalera at his side, and Sour behind him. Tenma was surrounded.

—————————————

La Spada & Xana
The Grim had turned and approached, now looking down on Xana. The captain who bowed. The Captain who chose life. She offered her surrender and clung to life. She offered to do anything. Even join death itself. Loyalty.

La Spada’s eyes peered deep into Xana’s soul, before a smirk formed. Suddenly, the green light from earlier erupted from the ground just beneath Xana. Shaped like a Wotan-sized hand, it aimed to wrap around Xana’s body, leaving only her leg exposed. If successful, ice began to form around Xana’s body, essentially freezing her body but leaving her head exposed, and alive.

Xana had surrendered. Unlike Tenma, who defied death, Xana clung to life. A candidate for the Spada Pirates.

[La Spada] “Tha’ decision is made.”
Suddenly, a large icicle erupted from La Spada’s boney fingers. It aimed to pierce Xana’s forehead and skull in one shot. A gruesome execution.

[La Spada] “The Spada Pirates has no need for grovelers. Clinging to life leads to loyalty. Kuahahahha! We’ve no need for that!”
[La Spada] “I much prefer those with hate. Those who despise mah’ and plot to kill mah’. Keeps them motivated to improve and grow stronger. No pesky loyalties to confuse.”
The camera shifted to Zalera, Sour, and Charon. Their eyes screamed hate, shame, and darkness. They didn’t clung to life, but on only one goal. One person to keep them going. They didn’t follow off loyalty, but desire. Desire to kill one person.
[La Spada] “Those who fell your island, down to tha’ last ones... plans to kill me! True heirs to the Underowlrd. Kuahahahaha!”

La Spada cackled. She wanted those words to be what Xana heard last. What the Spada Pirates were truly about.

A short distance away, Tenma could see her Captain fall. He could hear La Spada’s words. Charon, Zalera, and Sour chuckled deviously, as if confirming their hate. Now it would perhaps dawn on Tenma. It would dawn on him why his response in the face of death allowed him to be the only one spared.

[Charon] “Your time of death is no longer your decision, Tenma.”

La Spada in the New World!

La Spada & Xana

Clinging for dear life, Xana looked with fear in her eyes towards La Spada. Too cold to do more than that, memories of her past trauma started to flash before her eyes. Remembering back when she was known to be "a disposable human", as she was lost in her hallucination, Xana didn't feel anything as her enemy killed her off, execution style.

Zalera, Sour, Charon & Tenma

[Zalera] “Stop toying with your food, old man.”
[Charon] “Charahahahaha. Not this one. He chose death!”
Surprised by the sudden appearance of Zalera, the swordsman only realised the gunman presence after hearing him talk. Unable to react accordingly to the attack, Tenma's sword was re-directed towards the ground. Jumping away from his two assailant, Tenma quickly stopped all movement after seeing Sour right behind him.

Ichimonji said:
[Charon] “Your time of death is no longer your decision, Tenma.”

[Zalera] “You belong to the Spada Pirates now.”

[Sour] “And until you can argue, you will do as we desire.”

"So be it. If I have to go, at least I'll take you with me." - said Tenma as he realised of his captain's demise

Still with his sword, wielding it with his left hand and using his right hand to grip his left wrist for support, Tenma runs straight for Charon and jumps high up into the air and slashes him. If successful, his foe would burst into flame. We knew that living through this battle might not be possible, but he knew that he had to at least take his nemesis with him.

Like his captain, Tenma valued self-preservation, but contrary to her, the swordsman had a huge ego that wouldn't let him go out like a coward.
He always did tell the crew that he might be the first to hit the bucket. Thinking about that as he attacked, Tenma found it ironic that he survived longer than Captain Xana.

Tenma:

Hiryu: Kaen: Using one sword wielded in his left hand with his right hand gripping his left wrist for support (or vice-versa), the user jumps high up into the air and slashes his opponent. After slashing them, the user's opponent then bursts into flames from where they were slashed.

The Invasion | Last One Standing - #8

The icicle passed through Captain Xana’s forehead, felling the young woman. The Captain of the Gray Cloud Pirates had fallen. The Grim looked at the frozen body of the young woman with a sadistic grin, before whispering to herself.

[La Spada] “You’re not worthy...”
Those words trailed off as La Spada disappeared with that skeletal speed. Tenma came down with his blade towards Charon’s head. Suddenly, his blade would theoretically stop cold. A boney hand intercepted the blade, colored black and a green aura surrounding it. La Spada stood between them.

Though the blade stopped, the fire burst and covered the Captain. However, there was no response. With no flesh, the elements had no effect, even if she wasn’t already a tiefling and resistant to fire.

[La Spada] “You, on the other hand, are worthy. Now, BEGONE!”
Suddenly, Tenma’s blade would snap. With a quick twist of her fingers, the blade would snap like a twig, already frozen and brittle. With Tenma off-guard by this move, three attacks came from around him.

Charon came from his left, Sour came from his right, and Zalera shot at his back. Charon slashed with his scythe, Sour punched with her blades forearm, and Zalera shot a rapid bulket. All three attacks with hardening haki. The three would avoid vital organs; they just needed to knock Tenma out.

La Spada cackled. She would have the island.

Spada v. Tenma
Tenma Attack: [Base] 61-80: 4. Small Building Level +1 (C Rank) = 81-100: 5. Large Building Level
La Spada Dura: [Base] 101-119: 6. City Level +2 (hardening) +1 DF perk = 9. Small Country Level
Result: DPR 2 or more below dura: Not very effective
Trio Attack (for each attack)
[Base] 81-100: 5. Large Building Level + 2 (hardening) = 120: 7. Town Level

"Huh?!" - exclaimed Tenma as he saw La Spada appearing in front of him

Completely in awe as he sees La Spada surviving the fire burst. Looking at her green eyes, Tenma barely holding on his sword as he felt something odd coming for La Spada. He started to understand why Xana lost her fight so fast. His eyes trembling, Tenman started to take a few steps back.

[La Spada] “You, on the other hand, are worthy. Now, BEGONE!”
As his blade's snaps, Tenma first reaction was a jerk. He wasn't one to get scared, but the La Spada seems to have completely caused fear in his mind. Too busy to fight off his fears, that he didn't realise of the imminent attacks. Receiving a barrage of attacks, the swordsman collapsed. The attacks were too much for him to fight off. Out cold, but not dead, Tenma's body was now at the mercy of the La Spada pirates.

Meanwhile, Métis was still hidden in her hideout. Waiting until everybody has left to come out, the gunwoman was started to fall asleep. As her eyes started to drop, Métis tried her best too fight off the drowsiness, but eventually lost that battle too. Falling a sleep.

With a triple attack, the last fell. Still alive, Tenma would have a torture chamber to greet his awakening. One still scurried and hid. Mantra would hunt her down. She too, would meet like fate. The trio of the Spada Pirates looked at the Grim.

Licking Tenma’s blood of her boney face, through a sadistic grin, she spoke. Her voice loud enough to be heard for miles, in the neighboring towns:

[La Spada] “THIS ISLAND IS NOW UNDER SPADA PIRATES CONTRO! KUHAHAHAHA!!!!”

With those words, the curtain would fall. Maelstorm would become the stronghold for the Spada Pirates in the New World, thanks to it’s dangerous waters. Tenma and Métis would be left behind to defend the island with the 50 remaining Gray Cloud Pirates, who were left unconscious but not dead.

Where once was a lush green parasite, now turned cold and Gray. As if La Spada’s soul corrupted the land.
