ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1043 QUICK SUMMARY
Narrator announced Kaido as the winner.
Kaido looked at the CP0 boss and attacked him. CP0 boss bid farewell to the other CP0 member by slightly tipping his hat.

Kawamatsu told the samurais to escape the flames. Suddenly, the samurais got blasted by Blast Breath.
Kaido went inside the castle in his dragon form, announced Luffy's death and called Momo to give up.
A lot of the alliance members are shocked. The Beast Pirates are overjoyed.
Nami called Kaido an oversized snake and a liar. Kaido then threw a Blast Breath at her, but Marco defended her.
The Beast Pirates started approaching Kid and Law, but their crew protected them. Kid and Law then prepare themselves to fight Kaido.
Neko and Carrot are back inside the castle to fight.

Outside of Onigashima, Momo wants to give up but Yamato tells him to keep fighting.
If surrender is their only option, Yamato prefers them to die together.
Suddenly, Zunesha tells Momo that Joyboy is here. At the same time, at the rooftop, Luffy is seen smiling while his hat is melting.

I'm a bit confused if Luffy actually "died" and Joyboy awakens to replace Luffy, because how else would Zunesha recognize his voice?

I agree. Boss was fucking about lofe and death and chose death in exchange of the life he thought he had been fighting for was tight.

Funny that you mentioned Yu Yu Hakusho, which I'm about to re-watch tonight.
That exact scenario is what I'm worried about.

I hope we get to know a little bit more about him in the future.
He's probably one of the few characters from WG that has my interest, especially after seeing his interaction with X-Drake.
Why did he "envy" Drake? Why is he working as a CP0 in the first place?

About the blue part I was wrong! Just read the official translation and figured out the blue stuff is nothin but raging Kaidou. So the Drums of Liberation are indeed Luffys heartbeat as mentioned before!
