The Pangean Continent
The Great Pangean War #20

@kakashi19283

Pangean Plains
“Black Arm” Zephyr. A name who heroes and legends called Sensei. A hallmark in Marine History. Out of all places, this is where the legend ended up after the Impel Down breakout - in Pangea, fighting for the wrong side. Now, they stared the Pangean Army of thousands.

Everyone was surprised by Zephyr’s Entrance, but it was Leo who questioned the legendary Instructor. He answered.

[Zephyr] “You runt. I told you once that I had seen all the darkness this world had to offer… I had not. They taught me much. There is only one way, and it begins here.”

Words to remember. Had seen all the darkness the world had to offer. Zephyr had said those words in their last encounter. With a roar, Zephys commanded the Army, and thousands begun their march, They were so many, the very earth shook.

The last words of Zephyr hit Kizaru deep. His face changed. Tsuru, who had been watching Zephyr, turned by the aura changed. The one calm man was serious.

[Kizaru] “Led astray, allowed his work to be stained. No more! No one touch him but me. Today, Zephyr-sensei‘s memory will no longer continue to be tarnished. I’ll bury his exemplary memory here.”
If Leo felt some hostility from Kizaru towards him before, it all made sense now. Kizaru looked up to Zephyr like a father, like a legend. Above all, he wanted to protect his legacy, perhaps because it shaped his own. Leaving him rampant, as Leo did when he chose to incarcerate him and not finish him, further allowed his legacy to ruin. Kizaru would end that today.

Suddenly, Tsuru called with a tone of dissent.

[Tsuru] “Borsalino-boy. I can’t imagine how you must feel to see him like that. But please reconsider. We are blind here. Without intel, we would not even know where to start.”
[Tsuru] “I am the Commanding Officer now. We capture Zephyr-san.”
The roles were reversed. Now, it was Kizaru who wanted to kill and Tsuru who wanted to capture. Tsuru had a point. Kizaru had a point, riddled with emotions. But if there was anyone who could empathize, it was Tsuru, who grew up shoulder to shoulder with Zephyr. Kizaru scoffed and turned his gaze to the Army. He did not reply. What would he do? Onigumo made an ill-advised joke that it would not matter, as they would likely die at the hands of the army.

The joke was met by a very particular reaction from Kizaru, Tsuru, and likely Leo. Kizaru disappeared, appearing over the advancing Army in a bright light. Dozens of lasers rained down, creating chaos in the front lines. Tsuru slammed her hands into the ground. From the air above the Army, the air was “washed” causing small tornadoes to rip through the Army. Dalmatian and Onigumo, inspired, roared. They jumped off the cliff, transformed, and advanced on the Army.

The Great Pangean War had begun.

OCC: I’ll post stats as you encounter the Primordials.

Leo, seeing his former instructor amid the army of Primordials, questioned not only the man's intentions, but how it was possible that he was there to begin with. Zephyr replied, stating that he had found new darkness - that the Primordials had taught him something he had never known. Could have never known. The man that stood in front of them was a different man. He was no longer the instructor that they all knew. And yet, Admiral Kizaru's respect for his former sensei was profound, and he would deal with the man on his own. Tsuru objected, reminding Kizaru that she was the one in command, while Onigumo joked that they were all doomed anyway. However, Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Leo were there - no matter the opposition, they would not be an easy fight, and even if they were to succumb, it would be after a 10 day war. And with those thoughts in mind, it was time to spring into action.

Kizaru disappeared from sight, using his speed of light to appear high up in the ''sky'', above the army of Primordials. From there, he unleashed a massive rain of spheres of light that would explode every time they hit something, or someone. Tsuru used her versatile washing powers to wash the ''sky'', unleashing powerful tornadoes that, together with Kizaru's lasers, started to ravage the army of Primordials. Vice Admirals Onigumo and Dalmatian jumped off of the cliff and descended toward the army, aiming to fight them down there.

Leo was the last to act. Remaining on the cliff, blue fire suddenly started to transform Leo's arms into a pair of a Phoenix's wings. As Leo glared at the army, he flapped his wings a number of times.

Hotarubi...

A technique that would normally create an army of green-colored fireballs using the Mera Mera no Mi, was adapted by Leo into something new. His wings started to create an army of blue-colored fire feathers that filled up the sky. The fire feathers started to descend onto the army. Suddenly, they would glow a bright orange red.

Hidaruma...

The army of feathers would start to erupt one after another, creating many infernos, engulfing sections of the army with enough firepower to raze a city.

DPR: 81-100: 3. Large Building Level + C:+1 + COA: +2 = 6. City Level

Hotarubi:

Leo creates many small, green-colored fireballs that can float around the area. This is usually used in preparation for another attack. Alternatively, instead of green-colored fireballs, Leo can create blue-colored fire feathers. Unranked - supplementary move.

Hidaruma:

Leo can surround a target with the many small, green-colored fireballs created by Hotarubi. Then, Leo can detonate the fireballs, engulfing the target in flames. Alternatively, instead of green-colored fireballs, Leo can create blue-colored fire feathers. Rank C. Minor burn.

The Great Pangean War #21

@kakashi19283

Pangean Plains
The Great Pangean War had begun. The brass launched themselves towards the front lines. Kizaru took the East forces. Tsuru took the West forces. Leo took the enter forces, completing the front line attack. Smoke rose up from the first attacks, one fire, one light, and the last elemental. The screeching of the Primordial front line could be heard.

When the smoke cleared, the first hundred in the front lines in range could be seen standing, albeit it perilously wounded. They continued the march. It showed the strength of the army - they were no fodders. These were called ‘Myrmidon’, strength of Rear Admirals. However, Dalmatian and Onigumo, trailing Leo, attacked the downed Myrmidon, felling them. It took two attacks. Barely a dent. Around a thousand remained.

Suddenly, a shadow would envelop Leo.

[Djinn] “Primordial Breath!!”

From above, a winged primordial had appeared 10 meters above Leo. Mouth gaping open, a green light shot out towards Leo, twice his size. Acid. If Leo’s mantra would kick in, he’d find himself completely surrounded by more than half a dozen (8) Djinns, all whose mouth glowed. They were all around him, flying around him at blurring speeds leaving after-images.

The Navy's attacks rained down upon the Primordial army. However, it barely made a dent. This did not worry Leo yet, but it did become clear that they could not knock the Primordials out the way they could with a human army. Even the weaker Primordials seemed to have a thick hide and significant durability to damage. As Leo was thinking about those things, a shadow appeared above him, and Leo looked up. The flying Primordial's mouth glowed, and Leo knew an attack was coming. The beast did not come here to talk, and Kenbun-shoku no Haki was not needed to determine that. As the creature used a breath attack of poison and acid, Leo did the same with fire. Taking a deep inhale, Leo exhaled a large breath of fire, wisps of black Busou-shoku no Haki visible within the fire.

The two breaths would clash, and Leo's would come out on top, engulfing the creature. Right after that, more Primordials surrounded Leo, flying all around him. It was time to go onto the offensive.

Leo flapped his wings, summoning a great amount of fire. The fire surrounded him and rose up toward the sky, forming a massive tornado of fire. The tornado of fire would spread outward, getting bigger and bigger, aiming to engulf all of the Primodials that surrounded Leo. Black Busou-shoku no Haki increased the power of the flames, threatening the creatures of hell.

Fire Vortex DPR: 81-100: 3. Large Building Level + B:+2 + COA: +2 = 7. Mountain Level

Hiken:

Leo turns his fist into fire and then punches, unleashing a huge column of fire that can plough through several ships. (fired from the mouth in the above case) Rank B. Moderate burn.

Fire Vortex:

Leo spawns a massive, spinning vortex of fire around himself, burning anyone and anything that comes near him. This can be used as a defensive technique in some cases. Alternatively, he can take control of fire in the area and form a vortex of fire around the target, instead of spawning it around himself. Rank B. Moderate burn.

Pangean Plains - Sky
The blast from above was met by a similar, more powerful, elemental attack. The clash glowed in the sky, before the fire began to “eat” the acid, continuing on. The weakened Hiken engulfed the one Djinn, sending it upwards - it would be back. Now surrounded by eight (8) Djinns using wind manipulation, Leo turned into a tornado of fire, exploding outwards.

The Djinns would screech in unison, flapping their wings.

It took eight. Eight powerful Djinns, masters of the sky, to manipulate the air around them. Leo was so powerful, it took eight. The distance they had from Leo allowed them to act in unison. They created an upwards windvane. The tornado of fire would have to travel through the air, and the air was Djinn’s territory. The tornado of fire was caught in the windvane and launched upwards, essentially parrying the attack.

Three (3) of the eight were caught in the blast, sending them with the tornado of fire in defeat. Five (5) remained. They had been charging that green light and all shot out towards Leo at the same time. This time, the blasts combined before reaching Leo, making a terrible combination attack of six filled with terrible haki.

[Djinn] “Primordial Breath: Maximus!!”

From above, the Djinn that survived the initial clash of the Hiken flew downward at great speeds. In desperation, after the would-impact of the combination attack, he would aim to claw Leo’s head in a downward fashion, screeching like a Primordial bird with ire.

Powerful beings. Nothing easy. Hundreds able to hold their own against men of Leo’s caliber. If this was the bulk of the army, the Contemporaries were in trouble.

Leo, surrounded by Primordials and attacked from all sides, unleashed a powerful tornado of fire, aiming to engulf all of his enemies and burn them to ashes. However, some of the Primordials managed to survive his attack, now once again concentrating a team attack. The Primordials were outnumbering him, so attempting to overwhelm him with sheer numbers was their best bet - and they seemed to know that on instinct. As Leo looked up, seeing the Primordials cook up their new attack, a number of spheres of fire appeared behind Leo. The spheres formed a circle at an upward angle, facing up toward the Primordials.

As they unleashed their combined breath attack, the circle of fire spheres suddenly started to spin like a gatling gun. From the spinning circle, spheres of fire were continuously fired, like bullets from a gatling gun, clashing continuously with the breath attack until they would overwhelm it and begin to bombard the Primordials themselves. Each of the fired spheres of fire would erupt and, combined with black Busou-shoku no Haki, it was an attack that could quickly overwhelm.

Sun Wheel...!

DPR: 81-100: 3. Large Building Level + A:+3 + COA: +2 = 8. Island Level

The other lone Primordial, who had been blown high up into the air, in the meantime started to descend toward Leo, moving with great speed. However, it was speed that Leo could easily keep up with. The blue fire of his right wing started to fade away, revealing Leo's arm, his fist starting to burn with fire and rage with black Busou-shoku no Haki, his eyes glowing with a faint hint of red.

As the Primordial closed the distance, its attack reached Leo's mind's eye - he was able to peer a moment into the future. Using that, he was not only able to sidestep the Primordial's attack in the last moment, but he also knew where the opening would be, capitalizing on that. Leo's right fist came roaring upward, aiming to slam into the Primordials' descending body. From Leo's fist, an eruption of fire would explode forth, aiming to engulf the Primordial and send it packing with a great might. Leo was making a point - these creatures were not on his level.

Fire Missile...!

The blast from the combined attack clashed with the fire. A flash shone over the Army, now able to be seen by miles. The fire blasts, the first few, clashed against the acid, slowly mounting and overbearing it. The screeching of Djinns echoed as they begun to fall like flies.

The Djin coming down found his move predicted, and a first tearing through his armor and into his body, launching the beast towards the thicket of the Army.

[Djinn] “Schreeeeeeechhhh!!!!”

From the eruption of fire came one lone Djinn, surviving the initial fire blasts, now flying towards the center, towards the area where Zephyr once was. Undoubtedly, the man had shown his superiority. Only a thousand left to go...

From below, a lattice of spheres came for Leo. It was similar, albeit it weaker, than the Primordial Leo fought back inside Enki. The Myrmidon front line had shot uowards clad in haki. Like Leo’s fire blasts, these were continuous. They would not cease until Leo did it himself.

The battlefield was as follows. The East front was being obliterated by Kizaru, though the progress was slow. So slow, it was demoralizing. Tsuru had a similar result in the West front, though she looked in more trouble. In the Center forces, the very front line was gone now. Leo’s attack and Onigumo/Dalmatian back-up had finished them. However, there were many at bulk. Behind stood the real menace. The Giant Primordials looked from afar with thick menace.

Zephyr waited with the truth in tow.

Leo's fire wheel continued to unleash spheres of fire without stop, overpowering the flying Primordials and blasting them out of the sky one by one, one after another. When the last of the Primordials atop the cliff attacked, aiming to cut Leo down, Leo instead found an opening with his Future Sight, unleashing a fire missile punch straight into the Primordial's body, blowing it thousands of meters away and back into the center of the massive army spanning below.

The Navy officers were progressing, but they were doing so slowly. The numbers advantage was too great. One section of the army started to fire spheres up at the cliff where Leo was. But, it was time to make bigger progress. Leo's right arm, which had transformed back into a normal arm to unleash the punch, now transformed back into a Phoenix's wing. The blue fire from Leo's wings spread to the rest of his body, and he transformed into a full Phoenix. Flapping both of his wings, Leo left the cliff, flying up at the sky.

Tsch... there's no end to them.

Using great speed and aerial manoeuvrability, Leo continued to avoid the spheres that were coming after him. As he was flying, continuously flapping his wings to do so, many, thousands upon thousands, of blue fire feathers were left up in the air. The fire feathers danced around in the winds as more and more joined them. After a good minute or so of flying around, the sky was filled with them. Then, suddenly, they turned from blue fire to red fire and started to rain down onto the army.

Like an apocalyptic veil, the rain of fire feathers fell onto the Primordials. They started to explode one after another, unleashing many infernos of fire. Leo continued to fly, releasing more feathers, and had them fall down onto the battlefield, like a perpetual apocalypse. There was no end to it. Now was the time for the other Navy officers to capitalize on the opportunity provided by Leo and unleash a combined attack that would truly put a dent in the Primordials' forces.

The battlefield was turned into a molten wasteland, even moreso than it already was.

DPR: 81-100: 3. Large Building Level + COA: +2 + S:+4 = 9. Small Country Level

Fire Storm:

Leo flaps his Phoenix wings, shooting a large amount of fire feathers up into the sky. The fire feathers then come falling down like mini comets, exploding on contact and creating many fire infernos. This can set a large area on fire. Rank: S.

The Great Pangean War #24
@kakashi19283

Pangean Plains - Sky
The Djinns fell, and Leo advanced. The Promordial Army, however, was staggering in number. They’d have to figure out a way to battle through the never-ending Army. Would they have to plow through all the grunts to get to Zephyr? Leo took to the sky, transforming into his bird form. Maneuverability in display, the spheres passed around him. Feathers fell on the battlefield.

Explosions of fire ravaged the middle of the battlefield, razing the ground to a molten hell. Either by coincidence or design, Kizaru showered S attacks on the Western flank and Tsuru showered S attacks on the East flank. The first half of the battlefield was enveloped in smoke, a grand destruction.

The front lines were devastated. Hundreds upon hundreds fell by the attacks. However, Leo did not stop. More feathers came to the next wave. Before they would fall, however, giant wings would cover the section of the battlefield, the feathers exploding on them.

[Bestla] “Tha movle no fuopeer!” (‘You shall move no farther!’)
A giant appeared, overbearing and stout. One of the Giant Primordials had appeared, fittingly named Bestla. It had opened its wings, clad black, the feathers blocked by its large wingspan and unmoving. The wings slowly receded and the giant looked upwards, staring dead in the eye of the bird. The being was between Oars and Giant size, sporting an armored humanoid creature, horns, wings, and what seemed to be molten lava running across its armor.

Bellows echoed through the battlefield. On the West, another Bestla had appeared in like fashion. Kizaru stood down the beast. The same happened with Tsuru, but Dalmatian and Onigumo were with her, staring down the behemoth.

[Djinn] “Pangea Tornado!!!”

Suddenly, tornado winds would engulf Leo. Flying from above, two Djinns used their wind power in an attempt to constrict Leo. It would not harm him, but act as a barrier to move freely. Suddenly, a shadow came from all sides. Bestla used the veil from the tornado to ”clap” it’s humongous hands together, fire roaring, black veiny haki humming. The behemoth’s clap would send shivers through the battlefield, black lightning spawning, shaking the very air.
[Bestla] “GINLTLA SLIANMM!!!“ (‘Giant Slam’)

From afar, Zephyr got an update of the battlefield. He sent in the third wave. It was not time for him to enter yet. How long could the Contemporaries hold on?

Continuous attacks from the Navy rained down upon the Primordial army. For now, they were not making significant progress, but one thing could not be denied - they were the ones on the offensive, showing superiority at the higher levels of combat prowess. The Primordials merely had numbers, numbers that would eventually dwindle down. After all, men like Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Leo could fight for 10 days and 10 nights. Leo's fiery feathers rained down upon the army, unleashing many infernos of intense fire. However, it was then that the Primordials finally came with an answer. Two massive wings shielded the Primordials like a barrier, blacked with Busou-shoku no Haki. One of the gigantic Primodials was the cause of this, and two other behemoths joined it on two other parts of the battlefield.

Leo, still flying in the air, saw the change in momentum of the war. A powerful gale surrounded him up in the sky, preventing him from flying around as he pleased. And then it happened. The giant Primordial brought its hands together, clapping them together with a thunderous power, aiming to crush Leo inbetween the palms of its hands like a fly.

The clap was powerful, sending gales and shockwaves all around. It could be heard all across Pangea. Without a doubt, the giant Primordial could have crushed a mountain in its hands.

Leo's allies looked in distress. Could it be that Leo had fallen? Were the giant Primordials that powerful, along with an advantage in numbers? Silence overtook the battlefield, as if everyone was waiting. This moment would reveal the true standing of the war. If Leo was down this quickly, this would be a victory for the Primordials. But if Leo survived, this would show that even the giant Primordials were not on par. The next few moments passed in silence. But then, an awakening. True power. Might unparalleled. An expression on Bestla's face would be the first sign.

A number of incredibly powerful Rankyakus, raging with black Busou-shoku no Haki, suddenly ripped Besla's hands apart, blood erupting. Leo, in his Hybrid form, was seen unharmed, the Phoenix's flames of regeneration having already healed any damage that Leo had sustained from Bestla's crushing attack.

Bestla's DPR should be 9. Small Country Level. So I'll go with that.

101-119: 4. City Block Level + A:+3 + COA: +2 = 9. Small Country Level

Leo's Durability: 121+: 8. Island Level + COA: +2 = 10. Large Country Level

DPR 1 below durability: somewhat effective

Can heal in one turn.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leo's Rankyaku DPR: 121+: 6. City Level + A:+3 + COA: +2 = 11. Small Continent Level

Bestla's Durability (hands): 120: 7. Mountain Level + COA: +2 = 9. Small Country Level

DPR 2 or more higher than durability: super effective

Glaring down at the handicapped giant Primordial, its hands now ripped apart, Leo erupted with a flap of his wings, rocketing down toward Bestla. As he flew, he transformed back into his full Phoenix form. Flapping his two wings into opposite directions, one upward and one downward, he entered a spin while his beak grew longer and larger. Now spinning, with his beak, imbued with black Busou-shoku no Haki, leading the way, Leo blitzed Bestla like a blue fiery drill, aiming to rip straight through its body. Leo aimed to kill Bestla with overwhelming power, granting his fellow Navy officers the confidence that they needed.

Leo's DPR: 121+: 6. City Level + S+:+5 + COA: +2 = 13. Moon Level

Beak Point:

This enhancement can be used with Leo's Phoenix Form. The length, durability and sharpness of his beak is increased. This allows him to fly, put a spin on his flight, and use his beak like a drill. Due to the spin and his blue flames, he looks like a flying drill of blue fire. By mixing in the Mera Mera no Mi's fire, Leo can pierce and burn simultaneously, turning from a flying drill of blue fire into a flying drill of blue and red fire. Rank: S+.

The Great Pangean War #25
@kakashi19283

Pangean Plains
A thunderous clap echoed in the battlefield, black lightning spawning off it. Silence took the plains. The entire Army froze. Even the Marines, in suspense, gazed at the Giant Primordial crushing The Marine Hero like a fly. For a moment, it all stood still. For a second, the decisive moment was upon them. The moment the tide would turn in the Great Pangean War.

Suddenly, blood erupted from the Bestla’s hands. Giant fingers fell like rain, amidst the screeching of the Primordial Giant. A scream that would echo through the plains. A scream that would cause all who looked upon the sight widen their eyes. That look of shock only grew when the Phoenix came down upon the Bestla, finishing off the giant with one giant attack; an attack that could topple a Moon.

Now drenched in blood, the Marine Hero stood tall. Mixed reactions followed.

[Dalmatian] “That cheeky bastard! Dalhahahaha! We can win this!”
[Onigumo] “You maniac…”
The Vice-Admirals, puffing their chest, gained a newfound confidence. A second wind. Where once they were hybrid, now their bodies grew. They laughed like Kizaru did before. Slowly, their bodies changed to something more grotesque, a semi-Awakened mode, awakened by Leo’s example. Kizaru and Tsuru were not far behind.

[Kizaru] “What a monster! How scary!“
[Tsuru] “Well! I’m not about to let you youngsters stand me up!“

A rush of adrenaline surged in our heroes. They all screamed in unison, carrying Leo’s will, and launched themselves to the battlefield. The tide of the war turned from that moment on. From where once they were debilitated by the sheer number, barely making a dent, the offensive grew to levels legend. The Marine Heroes actually started to win through the fall of night.

——————————————————
6 Days Later
The “sun”, what was called the shifting of the volcano that lit the plains, illuminated the Pangea Plains. What was once a rough terrain was now black, burnt, thrashed, and destroyed. A battlefield that had seen better days. The Pangean War had raged on for six days, and the plains showed it. An air view of the plains showed the toil of the land.

A small fire roared in the middle of the plains. Our heroes were huddled around it. Around them, half a kilometer of distance, was a barrier. A two story barrier made of Primordial bodies, piled up gruesomely. Behind the barrier was the rest of the Primordial Army, boxing the group in that circle. 80% of the Pangean Army had been defeated. It took 6 days, but the Heroes had whittled the Army down to the studs.

[Kizaru] “I confirmed the communications. Their reinforcements are on the way. I’d say half a day, tops. We need to end the war now.”
Tsuru’s face illuminated as she spoke, over a map written into the earth. The map detailed their location, the Army surround8ng them, and Zwphyr’s location. They had no more time to whittle down the Pangean Army - reinfrocements would come and they would fall. Tsuru pointed to the map.

[Tsuru] “This is our location. To the North, that is where the Bestla Commanders are, protecting our target: Zephyr. We bag him, the war ends.”

Tsuru had blood coming from her head, her body filled with considerable wounds and scratches. Nothing life-threataning, but her body showed damage not seen in decades. Tsuru had stopped fighting a day ago. Behind her, Dalmatian and Onigumo sat, sleeping. They had fallen unconscious two days ago, not waking since then. Their bodies was mangled something awful, with wounds that outside of war would rush to the hospital. Wounds that would make a normal man dead.

Kizaru stood over the fire. He had one line of blood from the side of his head. The Admiral’s clothes were scuffed, wounds were seen, scratches were all over his body, but unlike Tsuru, he wore no considerable injuries. However, the man’s body slumped and his breath was quick - the exhaustion had set in. Kizaru, like Leo, had fought nonstop.

The Marine Heroes had turned the tide with Leo’s example. Now, they were in a race against time. A last-ditch strategy was being made. How would the group plan to take the King of the Army: Zephyr?

The Navy Officers had fought for 6 days and 6 nights, rallied by Leo's show of strength, against the never-ending Primordial army. The strength that Leo had shown was not above an Admiral's, like Kizaru - but the display had come at the right time, and a tremendous amount of motivation and drive was the result of it. As the days and nights passed, the Primordial army started to get dwindled down. On the dawn of what was perhaps the last day of this particular battle, the Navy Officers were seen sitting around a fire, and surrounded by a circular barrier of Primordial corpses multiple stories high. Vice Admirals Onigumo and Dalmatian were sleeping, exhausted. The great advisor, Tsuru, was injured as well, but she would live yet.

Admiral Kizaru had some injures, though they were mostly superficial - no less was expected of an Admiral, and one that some thought was the strongest among them. Much like Admiral Kizaru, Leo had fought the entire time, taking no rest. But, the two were in their prime, and the Navy's strongest assets. They had no other choice. Leo, much like Admiral Kizaru, or even more so, was uninjured. This was the result of the Phoenix's flames. But, he was exhausted as well.

Reinforcements were coming for the Primordial army, and the Navy officers were in a bind. Tsuru outlined a plan - they had to go for Zephyr. They knew Zephyr's location, but there was a problem. The only two that could reliably fly and reach Zephyr quickly, were Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Leo. But, that would leave the other three Navy officers, who were riddled with injuries, alone against the army. It was a lose lose situation.

That is, until Leo spoke.

There is only one option. Kizaru and I have to go. I can fly and he can move with the speed of light. We are the only ones who can reach Zephyr quickly and without getting bogged down by these monsters.

You three will have to hold the line. But... I will help you.

Leo said, blue flames of the Phoenix suddenly erupting from his body. He looked at the group and pointed the palm of his right hand toward them. The flames culminated at the palm of his hand, before blasting forward, surrounding the entire group. The flames of the Phoenix would surround Admiral Kizaru, the great Advisor Tsuru, and the sleeping Vice Admirals Onigumo and Dalmatian. Suddenly, their injuries would start to heal. Some were quicker, others took longer, but undoubtedly, just about all of their injuries would be gone soon enough. An incredible display of power that held incredible strategic potential. Between Leo's firepower, hailing from the Mera Mera no Mi, and his healing power, hailing from the Mythological Phoenix, Leo was without a doubt an incredible asset.

Heal Blast...!

Hold the line until we are back.

Leo said. The final battle was upon them.

Heal Blast: This allows Leo to summon a big blast of the Blue Flames of Resurrection, which can heal a group of people all at the same time, by engulfing their area in the Blue Flames of Resurrection. Unranked - not an offensive technique.

The Great Pangean War #26

Pangean Plains
The Marines Heroes stood amidst a fire, protected by the mountains of corpses they had accumulated for 6 days. Tsuru, Onigumo, and Dalmatian had reached their limit. However, reinforcements were on their way. This was now a race against time. Tsuru proposed they come up with a plan, and Leo pulled through.

Blue flames paved the way.

[Dalmatian] “H-H-Hey! My strength is coming back!”
[Onigumo] “What the hell…?”
The two Vice-admirals were awoken. They looked around at the blue flames that hugged them. Their wounds receded, closed, and their strength was coming back. Tsuru took a deep breath - she felt it too. It would heal them, but it would eat away at Leo’s stamina considerably. A necessary sacrifice. A jolt, a second wind, the Marine Heroes had been given another burst of hope by the man called Leo, Marine Hero. Leo proposed a plan To take out Zephyr.

Tsuru nodded at Leo, before raising her hand with a change.

[Tsuru] ”One small change, Leo-boy. The two strongest Bestlas protect Zephyr. Borsalino-boy and I will cover you. You go straight to Zephyr.”
[Tsuru] “I know what you want to say, Borsalino-boy. You want to go. But right now, Leo-boy can buy the most time with Zephyr. Finish off the Bestla Commanders, and join the last push against Z.”
[Tsuru] “Our goal is capture, not kill.”
Kizaru shrugged his shoulders, still with his unfazed demeanor. Those last words of Tsuru, struck a chord to Kizaru. The admiral audibly grunted - they all knew the Admiral would strike Zephyr dead at the first chance. Strike him to preserve the legacy of his memory. To preserve the original Hero of Marines. To save a memory that shaped not just Kizaru, but the Marines ideals.

Dalmatian and Onigumo stood side-by-side, watching the oncoming army from the South. They would engage. Kizaru grabbed Tsuru and turned to light, shooting towards the North - Leo presumably not far behind. The three made a bee-line towards Zephyr. Suddenly, the two Bestla Commanders appeared to block their way. The two imposing beasts raised their arms with intent to stop their advance.

[Kizaru] “We won’t let you guys…”
[Tsuru] “Get in his way!”
Kizaru appeared in front of the first Bestla Commander, blocking his attack. Tsuru did the same with the second Bestla Commander. The two humongous deities looked surprised. Between them lay a path. A true spectacle. A path for Leo to walk through. Waiting for him in the North Pangea plains was him.

The Great Black Arm Zephyr waited, holding the secrets of Pangea.

The blues flames of the Phoenix healed the Navy officers, giving rise to renewed hope. Leo proposed a plan, which Tsuru agreed with, though stating that she and Kizaru would pave a path for him toward Zephyr, by dealing with the Bestlas. Leo grinned, speaking words that were not meant arrogantly, but to inspire.

Ah, those things I killed with one attack?

Leo said. He was saying to deal with them quickly, for he would need backup against Zephyr. Kizaru grabbed Tsuru and transformed into light, taking her ahead. Leo transformed into his Human-Phoenix Hybrid form, his arms transforming into wings and his feet transforming into sharp talons. Leo looked at Vice Admirals Onigumo and Dalmatian, and spoke.

Even Admirals fall eventually... make sure you're ready to step up when the time comes.

Leo said, speaking about Zephyr. Even Admirals were not invincible, and once they do eventually fall, the Vice Admirals would have to take those roles. It was not an optimistic outlook, but Leo was a realist. It was Onigumo's and Dalmatian's duties to be ready when the time comes.

Flapping his wings, Leo took off blitzing through the air with great speed. He saw the path open up in front of him, thanks to Kizaru and Tsuru. Leo blasted forward, leaving his allies to cover his back. Before long, Leo would land on the North Pangean plains. Retaining his Hybrid form, Leo looked at Zephyr.

Instructor Zephyr... Having to strike you down a second time is not a privilege or an honour. It is a painful burden. So speak up... what is going on here? What happened? And where is Lia?!

Leo inquired with a serious tone, hoping to get an answer.

The Marines paved a path to Leo. The Marine Hero, even unintended, spoke derisively to his superiors. Admiral Kizaru’s shook his head playfully, but his eyes screamed indignation. Tsuru looked as stoic as ever. Leo would puff his chest and fly in hybrid Phoenix form to the distance, leaving the ones who would sacrifice themselves so he could pass. In the distance, the imposing silhouette of the Great Zephyr appeared.

Leo would find the rocky lava area filled with spheres that hung in the sky like lanterns. Before Leo would land, from one of the spheres right with Leo, Zephyr appeared, inside Leo’s wingspan, fist cocked back and a shadow on his face.

[Zephyr] ”Rahhhhhh!!!”

A punch, fist in clad terrible black. With one powerful move, Zephyr aimed to punch Leo out of the sky, sending him reeling towards the ground. A statement punch.

Assuming, but not deciding, Leo would tank the hit, he’d pull himself up to Zephyr standing around eight (8) meters from him. Zephyr looked down on the Marine, those legendary shades glistening with the light from the flowing lava around them.

Suddenly, Leo would see a small twitch in Zephyr’s face. His serious face turned to kindness, before coming back to normal again. In that split-second, Leo would see an image. An image he had seen decades ago. The image of the kind Zephyr looking down on Leo as Leo reeled from a hit in training. The Zephyr that they all admired. As fast as it came, it was gone.

Leo clamored at his Instructor. Why? Why would Zephyr turn into this…. monster? Leo questioned it and the one ever on his mind: Lia. Zephyr answered, his tone darker than ever.

[Zephyr] “Still a rookie, eh?“
[Zephyr] “While you runts play “Marine Heroes”, The Black spreads. Ignorant to how your kind is manipulated by the King of the World. He who stands atop Marijeous, while the world plays black.”
Zephys looked down on Leo. His aura leaking and cracking the area beneath him as he spoke. Zephyr had come far. He spoke of things Leo likely did not even know of. He spoke of Kings, Black, and redemption. The man’s tone sounded corrupted, matching his appearance. Black veins were popping out from his body, able to be seen cleanly. Patches of black, primordial skin, were all over his frame. His nails were sharp and his face eyes glowing beneath his shades.

The Instructor finished his “lesson”. By now, he was speaking like a heretic, like a man speaking in tounges.
[Zephyr] “What happened? I broke from the chains. Broke from the veil. The Primordials have shown me the way. The way to stop The Black.”

[Zephyr] “As for Lady Lia... Let’s just say her chosen blood will anoint our world and cleanse us of The Black.

Race: Human/Primordial

Height: Almost 348 cm (11'5")
Weight: Muscled
Position: Supreme Commander

Story: Z, also known by his birth name and former epithet "Black Arm" Zephyr, was the leader and founder of the Neo Marines as well as a former Marine Admiral and instructor before his resignation. Z stood as one of the pillars of the Marines, serving to usher the current generation of Marines. He is remembered with such fealty, he is considered mythological within the rank and file of the Marines. A man whose record and Justice shaped the world. A man revered for his power and unflinching Justice.

Z, a fabled instructor, suddenly retired from the Marines. The long years and the countless experiences forced him to pursue his own Justice, creating the Neo Marines. Leo met Zephyr in battle, defeating his mentor before the legend used the terrible Dyna Stone. Zephyr was imprisoned in Impel Down, to prevent his fable from being stained.

La Spada raided Impel Down, dealing a major blow to the government. One of the fearsome prisoners released was Zephyr. Zephyr fell into the Primordial’s influence. Therein, they showed him The Black. The legendary Marine, now tweaked with Primordial DNA, joined the Primordials in their genocidal mission, acting as Supreme Commander of the Pangean Army.

As Leo approached the North Pangean Plains, looking around for Zephyr, the man himself suddenly appeared from behind an obscurity, in front of Leo, coming in with a powerful punch. The fist of Zephyr rammed into Leo's face, punching him out of the sky. He came crashing into the ground, kicking up a large cloud of dust, volcanic ash and other debris. When the cloud cleared, Leo was seen getting back up, black Busou-shoku no Haki fading from his cheek and a blue flame appearing in its stead, healing the injury.

Durability: 121+: 8. Island Level + COA: +2 = 10. Large Country Level

DPR 2 or more below durability: Not very effective

Leo questioned what had happened to Zephyr, and what all of this was about. However, Zephyr's answers did not please Leo. The man spoke like a heretic, speaking about Kings, ''the Black'', and cleansing the world of ''the Black''. Lia was to be used for this. That fact enraged Leo most of all. However, there was a chance that Zephyr did not know about Leo's connection to Lia. Surely, he would not use her selfishly, if he knew that she was connected to his student, Leo. With a serious look on his face, Leo posed one last question to Zephyr.

Instructor Zephyr... do you know who Lia is... to me?

Instructor and Cadet stood face-to-face once more. One inquired about his intentions, the other speaking in heretic tongues, as if now lost in a cult. What had Zephyr seen to turn this way? Zephyr spoke even more than the World Givernment wanted, noting the King of the World. Perhaps by luck or ignorance, Leo did not gravitate to that - his mind was on Lia.

The Marine Hero, an epiteth disillusioned by Zephyr’s words, asked about Lia. More importantly, he asked whether Zephyr knew the relationship.

[Zephyr] “Who she is… to you? What do you mean?”
Zephyr responded with a question. He did not understand. By his reaction and look on his face, it was clear; he did not know of the relationship. In fact, few people did. Vice-Admiral Leo was exhausted for his Absolute Justice, a far cry for wearing his feelings on the sleeve. Zephyr knew Leo well - he never knew of such proclivities of Leo. Now, however, feelings took over the area, forcing something to awaken in the legend.

Suddenly, Zephyr’s eyes widened. He had a quick flashback, seeing a woman and a boy - his family decades ago. A twitch of Primordial DNA pumped into Zephyr’s veins, forcing him to shake his head, to snap out of it. For a second, Leo could see the humanity in the Instructor, quickly gone. Zephyr’s face frowned once more - back to the Primordial monster.

Yet, the questioned lingered. What would be Leo’s response and plea?

Leo asked the question that would determine the future. The future of Leo, the future of Lia, the future of Zephyr, the future of Pangea, and possibly the future of the world. Was Zephyr aware of who Lia was to Leo? That was the question. Momentarily, Zephyr faltered. He did not know who Lia was exactly, but for some reason, flashbacks of his own family came to Zephyr. Instinct. Primordial DNA started to pump again, and as suddenly as the old Zephyr had resurfaced, he now also, just as quickly, disappeared. But, Leo answered.

Lia is my older sister.

Leo said, revealing the shocking truth. Now, Leo's distress made sense. His earlier faltering made sense. His momentary abandonment of Absolute Justice, earlier, made sense. But now what? With the truth about Lia now out in the open, what would Zephyr do? Leo would make him choose right here, right now. An ultimatum.

Now that you know the truth, what will you do, Instructor Zephyr?

Leo asked, his Phoenix flames scattering. Leo, now in his human form, would have Zephyr show his resolve.

If you still intend to go through with this, I will stand here. You get one shot. But I will warn you now. If you don't take me down with that one hit... I will strike back with full force.

I will protect Lia.

🦋 A Buttery Effect was Triggered!🦋

Pangean Plains - North
By fate, the two Marine Heroes stared each other down, one legend and another mythological. Instructor to student. Zephyr’s Justice had brought him to Pangea. Leo’s Justice skewed for the first time, product of a woman who called him shrimp. Leo decided to speak, invoking emotions in an otherwise emotionless war.

Charged with the truth, Leo stated who Lia was - his older sister.

Zephyr’s stoic face decisively changed. His eyes widened at the thought. Once more, he was transported to images of his family, now lay dead by The Black. Could he be the one? The Instructor’s veins pumped once more. The legend looked down, in thought, before he took a deep breath. He spoke with wavering conviction, but with conviction nonetheless.

[Zephyr] “I-I-I am sorry, Leo-San. However, this is the way it must be. Absolute Justice. One life cannot weigh more than countless others. I know I taught you that.”
There it was. Leo’s dilemma. Whether the way Zephyr was achieving his “Justice” was correct, the tenant that one life cannot weigh more than countless others, was a deep rooted ideal of Absolute Justice, the Justice that Leo had adhered for decades. Lia could just be collateral damage. Leo had to accept that. Would he?

Zephyr took one more big breath. His resolve was tempered by haki, now vibrating and coating his large now-enhanced Battle Smasher. The titanium steel turned to harrowing black, a red light gathering in the palm, creating a shadow in Zephyr’s face. A shadow snuffed out as the legend roared, the ground beneath him tearing as he pushed towards Leo, full will. Leo had invoked his feelings, but failed to swat his Instructor’s conviction. Absolute Justice.

Zephyr appeared in front of Leo, Battle Smasher behind him, shouting with might.

[Zephyr] “BATTLE SMASH: GRAND PUNCH!!!”
Zephyr’s humongous Battle Smasher, half of Leo’s size, glowed, releasing a powerful blast of energy along with that terrible strength, tempered by willful haki and coated in Primordial poison. The strength was such that the ground beneath them cracked, creating a crater. black lightning spawned, along with that blast of energy. The Battle Smasher had kairoseki, disabling his DF defenses. If he was not blown back, the Seastone would continuously sap his energy.

Convictions clashed. Absolute Justice prevailed in Zephyr.

Decision: Attack or Speak to Zephyr
  • Leo chose to speak to Zephyr

Butterfly Effect:
  • + Zephyr Re-Thinking his Past
    • Leo spoke about his family, invoking memories of Zephyr’s wife and son. Doubt now cast on Zephyr’s goals.
  • - Zephys Power Boost
    • Emotions awakened the deep-rooted power of Primordial DNA. A power boost will erupt soon.

Leo revealed who Lia was. His older sister. His shrimp of an older sister. However, she was an amazing woman. A woman that took care of an entire village, thousands of people large. Her life was not life of one. It was life of a whole village of people, the grandparents, the parents, the children and the grandchildren. As well as any future generation of that village. She could not be a sacrifice. Especially not for a lunatic plan that Zephyr did not even justify. The Black. The King. It all sounded like a bunch of lunacy. However, Leo had committed to take Zephyr's conviction. He would stand his ground.

Zephyr pushed off and appeared in front of Leo, his Battle Smasher imbued with incredible Busou-shoku no Haki and laced with Kairouseki. The large Battle Smasher slammed into Leo, who tampered his defences with Tekkai and black Busou-shoku no Haki.

The thick armor of metal rammed into Leo, blowing him away. His feet, skidding across the ground, did not stop the force with which Leo was blown away, and he came slamming into a large rock formation. The rock formation cracked, and the whole thing collapsed atop Leo. Smoke trailed from Zephyr's Battle Smasher. A powerful attack.

Zephyr's DPR: 101-119: 4. City Block Level + S:+4 + COA: +3 = 11. Small Continent Level

Leo's Durability (untransformed due to Kairouseki): 81-100: 5. Town Level + 20 (Tekkai) = 101-119: 6. City Level + COA: +2 = 8. Island Level

DPR 2 or more higher than durability: super effective

Silence followed, but Leo would not keep the suspense going. Pushing the rubble off of him, Leo stood up, blue flames of the Phoenix covering his body. He coughed up blood. His ribs were broken. His left shoulder was broken. However, his regenerative abilities were immense. It would take a few minutes, but Leo would continue to heal for now. Glaring at Instructor Zephyr, Leo spoke.

You will tell me where Lia is, Zephyr-sensei.

Orange fire started to spread from Leo's feet. Two large lines of fire would arch around a wide area from left and right, before joining up a few dozen meters behind Zephyr, forming a circle of fire. From the circle of fire, fire rose, creating a wall of fire that engulfed an area 100 meters in diameter. The atmosphere started to heat up. Before long, smoke would start to build up. Leo was healing. A new generation of Marine Heroes. Leo's answer was strength. Sacrifices were not needed for Absolute Justice in his world. He would become strong enough to deliver justice on his own.

Marco was able to heal the damage he had sustained while cuffed with Kairouseki cuffs, after he was uncuffed. Just to clarify.
