"Little Spoiler, more details in next hours wink

- Chapter 1,045: “Next Level”.
- In the Color Spread, Straw Hat crew is sitting together with letters “Sea of Liberation”.
- All chapter is about Luffy Vs. Kaidou. The battle is VERY FUNNY, you will enjoy a lot reading it (more than any Spoiler or summary).
- Kaidou comments how unusual Luffy's fruit is: it turns environment into rubber (like Paramecia) but also transforms user (like Zoan).
- Luffy uses a new attack called “Gomu Gomu no Gigant” turning his entire body into giant. He looks like a God.
- Momonosuke and Yamato reach the rooftop and see Luffy's new form.
- Luffy runs out of energy, but he gets his drum heartbeat back and recovers.
- At the end of the chapter, Luffy punches Kaidou's face very hard.
- Luffy: "This is fun, right Kaidou?"

This week it will be impossible for me to publish my full summary. I have a lot of work and I don't think I have enough time to write it. But I will try until the last minute."

It's either an enhanced form of his gear 2(pumping blood) or just an awakened zoans recovery boost. The ID beasts also got up quickly. I don't think Luffy's possessed.

Could be, it's just that this drum beat seems to be specifically connected to Joyboy (not in general awakened zoans), and now that same drum beat specifically (not being awakened) was credited for bringing Luffy back. Kinda weird.

His fruit is hax.
I wonder if there will be side effects that Luffy will experience after the battle.
Him running out of energy has been the only thing that's holding him back, but if that's solved then he's going to be the future's strongest.

From the bit's i've seen here and there it's really luffy fighting without constraints. I think the drums heartbeat is just a quirk from the fruit. With joyboy also having had the gomu/nika I think the sound it makes simply makes Zunisha think that he's there.

Here. But fair warning, this will spoil a great deal of the entire chapter since it's pretty much Luffy vs Kaido. Written spoilers are a different thing than seeing straight HQ pictures. Even I refrained from looking at all of them since I still do want to see the chapter when it comes out.

It looks like energy drain will always be the issue, however something about the drumbeat heart rate makes him bounce back @QuickZilver708

JoyBoy is actually no real person. Its just the DF.

Yup, but it seems to require a TON of stamina. I think he almost immediately reverted to his 'base' form afterwards.

Yup indeed. It also finally makes sense why his damage threshold far eclipsed that of a regular human. Remember the pain and fatigue Kuma extracted from him? It took Zoro a long time in universe to heal from all of that lol.

I don't think it's a new ability but something he has lack of control over. As a lack of a better example, ultra instinct sign vs perfect ultra instinct. Goku also quickly lost control over that initial form.

Not to say Luffy will change once more but simply gain a better grasp at this new 'gear'.

Once Luffy masters gear 5 and can use it throughout the fight he'll be insane... xD

He'll need it against Blackbeard. I feel once we get to that clash the yami+gura combo is going to be crazy. Luckily this new awakening is a pretty hard counter towards its aoe abilities. Don't think you can vibrate/create quakes if everything around you is made out of rubber lol.

Also this is the first time we're seeing Luffy develop a new gear right before our eyes. All of his previous forms were created and most likely tested off screen. So it isn't that much of a leap to believe he's still struggling to come to terms with this new power. He may have freedom now but I believe he can't pace himself yet or is doing too much at once now with his unlimited freedom.
