I’m a medical student, 4th stage medical student to be exact.
Here is some info about Med school (in Iraq we follow the British system so US guys this is isn’t the same as your med schools systems)
After you complete 12th class in your high school, there’s a ministerial Examination called “Bachaloria” but it’s not the same as Bachelor. Anyway, depending on how well of grades you get from that exam, you can request to join one of the Medical colleges distributed around Iraq’s 18 provinces.
To give an idea of how hard this exam is, there are 7 subjects each has a mark of 100, overall, the 7 marks will be summed and the total number will be divided by 7.
The lowest med school here requires at least 97.
In 2016 I scored 98,5 and requested to join Med school and here I’m today after 3 years, happy that it all went well.
Now, about medical school, it’s very hard, especially if you’re ambitious and want to learn everything, it’s sooooo big if you want to master a branch you’ll need at least 14 years of hard work to do so.
I like internal Medicine, Cardiology in specific, some of my friends wanna be surgeons but I don’t recommend that here in Iraq, cuz it brings you a lot of trouble if an operation goes wrong, the law doesn’t protect you here.
Anyways, what’s your dream job?
