Questions & Mysteries Could Oden be the lurking legend & still alive?

This has been on my mind for quite some time now, Oden has been mentioned so many times since Zou, Oda is just doing an elaborate background story on him for a specific reason.

While everyone has been doing elaborate theories on who the lurking legend is, either Weevil or Rocks, or Shanks' father and others, the lurking legend could be the guy who was 'in our faces' all the damn time, think about it, he knew where OP is, would Kaido kill him off just like that? How can we be sure that he isn't locked up as Kaido's personal prisoner somewhere in the depths of Onigashima for 20+ years and his will is still not broken?

This subject was brought to my attention again after watching BDAL's vid on this matter.

Whaddaya guys think? A posibility or a pipe dream?

While i'll be excited if Oden's alive, unfortunately for story purposes and important character development (Momo, Hiyori, Scabbards, Zoro, Wano, rest of SHs etc), it's ideal if he remains dead

I’m going with Oden being dead, but his “will” or “spirit” remaining alive in the form of a statue or poneglyph, having been boiled alive in molten metal or something.

I wanna say the lurking legend is likely a former Rocks pirate, possibly one we’ve yet to be formally introduced to. Could be anybody really, but I have a sneaking suspicion he/she is the Streussen to Kaido. So Imma go with Wang Zhi, who’s plotting with the likes of Shiki, Bakkin, and others to wage World War Rocks, having been building up their science n devil fruit based army ( a dark reflection of whatever Vegapunk’s created for the SSG ) for the past several years in Kano, where an army of artificially evolved animals/clones of major deceased powerhouses ( that’s the truth behind Weevil ), a legion of automatons or “living” statues, and Lord knows what else awaits.

But yeah, I expect Momo to have one last heart to heart with Statue Dad through the Voice of All Things... at least before Kaido or Orochi kick him into an active volcano or forge or something. Would be hilarious tho if a statue-fied Oden whores himself to another crew by “joining” the Strawhats...finally giving Luffy that bronze statue he always wanted. Welcome aboard, Oden!

I don't think so. 1) Oden is no legend, at least not outside of wano. There are way bigger names to give oden the name of lurking lengend.
2) I don't think Oden is alive and it would be anticlimactic and get in the way of character development of everybody wano related, the nine scabbards, momo etc. 3) It would make less grave the actions that Kaido and Orochi took in the past not on intent but execution. 4) Zoro ain't giving back Enma...

Don't get me wrong Oden seems as a nice character and badass, but I don't think is alive and while it would be cool I don't really want him to be alive

Zoro can give back Enma if he gets Shusui back. That was part of the deal.

Or he can get another high quality sword but idk.

Oden being alive? Unlikely for me too. This would also give Kaido and Orochi a big L while making Oden's legacy worth less than right now.

I still think this flashback is setting up Orochi to be boiled alive and eaten by Big Mom. That would be pretty awesome and unexpected, and show how chaotic the Yonkos are.

Oden really couldn't possibly be alive.
Not only does it defeat Momo's role in this arc, but also his development since Zou.

But I'm definitely open to the idea that Lady Toki is still alive, but is not in the present time, but in the future.. Maybe she's continually keeping an eye on her son and seeing how he has developed as a well-respected Shogun of Wano.

Getting straight up eaten by Big Mom bypasses that while making things brutal. Its like One Punch Man!

I am excited to see how he actually died rather than how he might have survived. So hype-wise, I don't think a great author in Oda would pull something like that.. Legacy-wise, it's best if he remained a spirit and let it live on to his scabbards and kids.. What joy would it bring to us if suddenly, Oda wrote that he actually faked his death to rejoin after years of shit with Kaido??? None! Pure nonsense if that happens..
