Duel Einsauer vs Cletus [Non-Canon | Lvl 70 Duel]

The crumbled kingdom once called Lasfas sits, hidden away, in a lonely corner of the globe deep in the South Blue. The once beautiful kingdom, known for its abundant populous and booming economy, was now reduced to a ruined landscape suited only for beast and bug to inhabit. While the original inhabitants are believed to be long dead, the rotten corpse of Lasfas served as a territory and secret waypoint for the Revolutionary Army some time ago.
Members of the revolution would oft stop on their journeys to recuperate and restock on supplies before setting back out, using the massive sewers systems and decrepit buildings as meeting points and supply caches.
Though, too did the Revolutionary Army abandon the land of Lasfas. The reasoning, probably forgotten now, unknown to the lonely tunnels and hideaways across the desolate land...
It is said that the Revolutionary Army has abandoned this minor outpost with such great haste that any number of vital supplies could still sit in the sewer systems.

And it is for this exact reason that a lone fishwoman with a long, harpoon-like nose pulled her massive, lengthy frame up into one of the many ornate sewer outlets of the kingdom, beneath a worn-down (but once beautiful) lion head statue still spilling forth water after all these years.

Not at the mouth of the tunnel, but as she moved further inward, every move she made whilst she readjusted to traversing the watery tunnels had a consequential echo that worked its way around the entirety of the crying kingdom. The ghostly reverberance found its way to the furthest corner of the sewers and then all the way back to her, hardly distinguishable as the sound she had created anymore, now a simple hollow wail mixed with the constant flowing of water from an unknown source.

The fishwoman was Captain Sweet Einsauer, looking to find an easy stockpile of goods to help fund her upcoming ventures in the pirating world after catching word of this mysterious kingdom hidden away to the south. She moved trepidatiously through the eerie tunnel-system, making note of the crystal clear liquid flowing through the ancient waterways as she traversed the dark, dank sewers.

"Fufufufufufu this place is a mess."

The decayed Kingdom of Lasfas. The once prosperous island, known for its massive populace and booming economy was now reduced to a shell of its former self. A wasteland, now home to beasts and other creatures of the like. Cletus and his unit were tasked with finding the outpost here, and retrieving any supplies they could find. Clean up duty. Not Celtus' normal MO. However as annoying as this was for him, he took the job all the same, in order to keep Sigourney from nagging him to death.

He had long entered the underground of the kingdom. Travelling through the watery tunnels, each footstep was followed by echoes that spread throughout the entire underground.

"The base should be this way, shouldn't be any longer now."

However, the sound of extra echoes would greet his ears. It wouldn't take long for the lunarian to realise he wasn't alone. Someone else was making their way through the underground and all the lunarian would do is grin in anticipation.

"Well, well, seems like someone has joined the party. Friend or Foe. which one is it!"

"Well, well, seems like someone has joined the party. Friend or Foe. which one is it!"

The garbled echoes met the captain as she trekked through the clear sewer water. The captain, despite her tough veneer, was startled; her body froze for a moment as she gathered her bearings on which direction the sound has came from, her eyes squinted a bit in confusion. She continued forward on her path a few more steps.

"Do people still live here?" She asked aloud to the source, ignoring his question. Sweet needed to be careful, she was alone here in bowels of a long-dead kingdom...

Sweet's chains loosened as she walked, the length of the two chains slowly beginning to drag behind her in the darkness. Her best bet was to simply kill whomever was down here with her, no use in trusting a suspicious character in the dark not to kill her. The fishwoman crept onward, her left webbed fist clutching tightly to one of the chains, ready to strike at the first sign of life...

"Do people still live here?"

A feminine voice echoed through the underground as the footsteps drew closer. This place had been abandoned for years, Cletus could've assumed this stranger was an enemy. But he had to know for sure. He turned around and took a few steps forward in the direction of the voice.

"No. What would bring you to an eery place place like this?"

Cletus questioned carefully. The way she responded would determine how he would react. Soon after the sound of chains came to his ears. They hit the ground with a jangle as the dragged through the damp waters of the tunnel. He immediately dashed forward, activating his Kenbunshoku. He had decided to let the future guide him against this voice in the dark.

 

[Einsauer]

"No. What would bring you to an eery place place like this?"

Reverberating around in the nearly empty sewers, the question travelled around looking for Sweet Einsauer's ears. As the words made contact, the pirate began to think while she lurked closer in the darkness...Before the captain could formulate her answer to the query she heard the pattering of fast-paced footfall. She fell into a defensive stance, expecting the disembodied voice to find her soon enough; she reeled back one of her chains, ready to unleash the wrath of her iron links on the first creature to emerge from the shadows.

Her eyes narrows as she peered into the expansive darkness beneath Lasfas, the footfalls were getting closer and closer.
Captain Einsauer's leathery, webbed finger fingers clenched hard onto the chain as she prepared to lash...

Should Cletus enter her view, she would send the long chain out towards him with a vile sense of urgency for annihilation. The audible crack of the metal whip blasting around the sewers like the bark of a rifle-shot.

Regardless of whether Cletus enter her view (and she attacks), she would now be able to provide him an answer nevertheless, though playfully dishonest:

Cletus watched the future would unfold before his eyes. With a grin, he continued his advance at full speed towards his target. As he came into his opponents view, the sound of her chains would echo throughout the sewers as they came down upon him. But the lunarian already knew this was coming. Cletus twisted his body to side, avoiding the whip like strike of her chain. They crashed into the watery sewer like a cannon. He would quickly grab onto the chain and attempt to pull her towards him. Assuming not deciding she gets pulled towards him, Cletus would quickly engulf a Haki coated foot in flames before firing a kick aimed at the fish woman's temple.

Cletus engulfs his leg in fire with Ignition and then kicks the target with great strength and speed. Rank B.

Whether the attack landed or she counterattacked, Cletus and Einsauer would speak simultaneously together in a similar playful tone.

"Just visiting."
"Just visiting."

"I'm afraid you'll have to visit another time. I'm on important business here!"​

They crashed into the watery sewer like a cannon. He would quickly grab onto the chain and attempt to pull her towards him. Assuming not deciding she gets pulled towards him, Cletus would quickly engulf a Haki coated foot in flames before firing a kick aimed at the fish woman's temple.

Twinges of anxiety panged behind Sweet's calculative eyes as the shadow-cloaked figure pulled to the side of her attack. Her potential surprise attack was wasted, she instinctively yanked back on her iron whip but was met with a powerful resistance that swept her from her feet unexpectedly. Whilst hissing out a curse, her dark pupils dilated into vertical slits as Sweet's precognition flared into effect.
The pirate captain's grasp on haki was subpar and she only was able to distinguish brief glimpses of the impending attack, but using what little information she could gather she coated her face with a thick coating of armament haki.

Using the momentum of Cletus pulling her, she locked in on the oncoming kick like a missile. Her harpoon-like nose was set to clash directly into Cletus's burning foot.

Heat radiating out from her opponent kick singed her face, the pirate captained pulled her face away the kick before it could do lasting damage to her beauty. Hoping to have caught Cletus off-guard and possibly with a skewered foot, Sweet would once again go to yank her chain away for the Lunarian-hybrid's grasp.

The haki-coating would fade from her face soon after.
"This is certainly a surprise." She remarked, rubbing her sore nose whilst pondering the mysterious stranger's response. Her voice echoed off into the darkness around them, as did every minor sound in the damp environment.
"Is it too late to ask for you to surrender...?" She asked rhetorically through a sharp smile, knowing full-well she was best off just killing him regardless of his answer...Unfortunately, this wasn't going to be an easy victim as she had expected (or hoped).
