The Curse of the Howling Wind!
Night Falls in Alfheim! - #3
@Sea

In the town of Black Lagoon, as night fell, the people boarded up. Doors were adorned with a red substance painting above the door, and the commotion settled. Where once was a bustling town, became a town of ghosts, cowering inside. The lights went off one by one,

The inn was like the others, quickly closing up shop with the fall of the sun. The old lady, a lantern shining her way, painted the door. When she came down, holding her back in pain, she heard the voice of a young man behind her.

The old woman turned. The lantern cast a shadow over her face, and her eyes shot out towards the darkness, settling in on the figure. She seems to look at the sun for a moment, perhaps to confirm her safety. Her beady mouth opened slowly, her voice rugged and olden.

[Inkeeper] “Got any Beri? This here’s Alfheim - we won’t hesitate in leaving another in the Curse of the Howling Wind.“
[Inkeeper] “2,000 Beri per night. Or your blood will be carved atop the door instead...”
The Inkeeper spoke ominousl, her voice cracking into a mischievous chuckle. A woman frail with a twisted soul in the reality that was Alfheim. Outside of those privileged in Midgard, the curse howled.

As the Inkeeper spoke, a lone howl in the distance echoed. The old woman quickly and hurriedly grabbed her stairs, edging it inside. She stood at the door, waiting for payment, her heart beating quickly.

His approach and conversation to the old lady reveals that something was definitely off in Black Lagoon. Curse of the Howling Wind? Is that why the red paint on the door? Also, 2,000 beri per night?! The old lady is definitely taking advantage of the situation. Based on the name, might be some monsters lurking in the night. Regardless, Akira needed to stay for the night, and perhaps if he were to pay for the stay, he might be able to understand more of this curse. Sighing but without complaints, Akira took out a pouch of beri and show it to the Innkeeper, signalling his defeat to the morality of businesses. However, Akira wanted to make sure the 2,000 beri is well invested, as when the Innkeeper would either take the money or to signal him into the inn, Akira would immediately ask the Innkeeper.

“So about this curse? What is it about?”

If the curse turns out to be interesting, Akira might take this opportunity to explore Black Lagoon and Alfheim in entirety, his plan was to after all visit all the Islands of Haela. Perhaps something new and interesting can be found regarding the curse and its origin, perhaps its real? Perhaps it’s just an urban legend based on fear? Who knows. This time, he wasn’t acting as Akira of the Shadow, at least not yet. For now, the curious but cautious boy Akira finds his own adventures in Haela Isles in his time of uncertainty.

The old lady snatched the money out of the young man’s hand, before quickly ushering him in. The door clanged shut. About a dozen locks were quickly shifted into place. The door was adorned with all these safeguards. The inside was as warm as it was desolate. Wooden chairs, tables, and ceilings adorned the inside of the tree. Stairs led up towards the bedrooms, a sign notifying the guests.

[Inkeeper] “Not from around here, are ya?“

The old lady responded to Akita’s question, before moving behind the bar. Assuming theman followed, she would take out two glasses. One, she poured with a hefty amount of rum, finishing the bottle. She downed it whole.the old lady would sigh, as if her worries from earlier subsided. From another bottle, she poured the man a drink and pushed it towards him.

The old woman’s face wrinkled as she spoke.
[Inkeeper] “Born from the night, a demon is summoned. The howl of its longing signified it ever getting closer. Legend says it is longing for flesh to keep it warm through our chilly nights.“
[Inkeeper] “A witch long since lost put a curse on a baby. A curse of unnerving power to stave away an invading army. Even today, no army dares invade. Yet, the cost.... What she created was a monster sleeping within. She never could forgive herself...”
The old lady’s face pruned and her eyes sunk. The Inkeeper grabbedanother drink, this one a scotch, and poured herself a glass. She looked deep in the liquid before continuing.
[Inkeeper] “Alfheim and Migard adorns their door with blood of a goat. It signifies to the beast that no flesh is to be had inside. Those who peril the night are never to be seen again... amidst the Howling Wind.”

Akira went into inn as the old lady quickly took the money without hesitation and ushered him indoors. Inside the inn, while quiet and empty – grants warmth to the newest customer. It will definitely allow Akira to sleep through the night later on without much trouble. Soon afterwards, as the couple moved to the bar – the innkeeper started to pour a drink as she responded to Akira’s question. It would seem that the curse is based on unseen consequences that results from a good intention gone wrong and it also answers the question of where the door was painted red, except with blood. Taking the glass of rum that the innkeeper that was pushed towards him which implies that he should drink, while Akira is not one of drinking alcohol, he would at least follow through the social cues to drink the glass regardless.

Doing it almost in one shot, the boy’s face wasn’t one of pleasure drinking, showing his inexperience with alcohol almost immediately. As he bottoms up and placed the glass back down on the counter, Akira questioned the innkeeper once more, perhaps hoping to get more information about the curse, he would definitely like to see what the monster would look like.

“I see… A witch huh. So… what does this monster look like? I would like to see what the monster looks like.”

Akira would afterwards decline anymore alcohol, showing his interest in the curse. Perhaps he could deal with the monster tomorrow night if he has enough information to work with.

While the Curse took over, two were alone in the Inn. Money for solace and protection, the old lady and the young man discussed the Curse. A witch damned a monster in these parts, its hunger insatiable. Only the red blood signaling blood drained was enough.

The old lady smiled as the boy drowned his drink. His question would fade in an echo. Akira would feel his body weak, his vision blurring, and his hearing impaired. In what was left of what he could hear, Akira could likely only hear an echo of the Inkeeper’s words.

[Inkeeper] “Don’t worry, boy. You’ll meet my creation soon enough. Show him your hate and be consumed! Witchahahahahaha!

The old lady cackled. The drink was poisoned with dark magic. Akira would fall back, his senses and consciousness leaving him. The last he heard was the witch’s cackles.

The wind howled. The cold breezes through Akita’s clothes like a snake. A twig snapping would potentially wake the young boy. As his eyes adjusted, he would be greeted by a cold desolate forest clearing, snow overflowing. As a chorus to the snow sleeting, the howling of the Curse pitched.

The howling was incredibly loud - it came but a few feet from Akira. In the misty fog that the sleeting snow created, two yellow-slit eyes glowed and fanged teeth slobbered. The body obscured by the mist, the eyes and pitch were revealed.

Akira could feel his senses returning, and could speak, yet his body was still largely numb. The howling grew closer as footsteps crunched the snow.

Unfortunately for Akira, the drink that was given by the old lady was either too strong or she did something to it – though the latter would be the answer given immediately by the old lady, whom reveals to be the witch that was talked about through the echo of her words. Leaving Akira in a vulnerable position as the young boy collapsed onto the floor, unable to withstand the effects of whatever the old lady had put into the drink, his consciousness fading very quickly into darkness as Akira is left to fate by the old lady.

After an unspecified amount of time has pass, Akira opened his eyes, his entire body in a state of grogginess, but soon the change of scenery from the homely warm atmosphere to the cold, dark wind breezing through the forest is enough to jump-start Akira into caution as the young boy, even in a state of weakness was able to at least sit up – quickly searching for his weapon, which if the old lady had not taken it away. Soon the howling could be heard, quickly rising in volume as something is closing in on Akira – which in the misty fog reveals a pair of yellow eyes glowing in the dark. Being a person of cautious nature, Akira may believe three things to be happening: either he is hallucinating due to the effects of the drink, or the old lady really put him out to the pasture, or he is dreaming. In either case, the boy isn’t stupid enough to dismiss the possibility of being thrown to be eaten, he would need to be defend himself even in his current state of weakness, with limited time – Akira needs to check his current body state, looking to see if he possesses enough strength to clench his fist or move his body despite the numbness.

With footsteps of this new creature slowly closing in, Akira does not show signs of fear, but at the same time does not move too much nor attempt to provoke it too much by reaching out for his weapon yet, if his weapon is still on him. If his strength has returned enough to at least move his arms, perhaps he drag himself slowly backwards, while maintaining eye contact with the ‘creature’, refraining from speaking for now, Akira hopefully maintains enough distance and time to regain his strength slowly to a certain level to deal with the creature properly. In his thoughts, if this whole thing is real then the old lady has a lot to answer for, that and she better return his money – for an old lady she is running the greatest scam his ever seen.

The Curse of the Howling Wind!

Frozen in more ways than frigid, those sharp eyes grew closer, fangs bearing. Akira weapons were untouched - he still had everything he came with, but his body was still numb, only his eyes and head back to normal, everything else was reacting slowly or immobile.

Suddenly, the howling was replaced by the shouting of many. Many adult voices, like a mob, shouted from behind those yellow stalking eyes. The sound of steel dragging through the snow now echoed. The flames of torches gleamed through the fog.

[Mob] “Get the beast! Kill the beast and it’s partner! CHARGE!!!”

The voices grew ever louder, and what was behind those yellow stalking eyes stepped out of the fog in front of Akira.

A young boy, looking no more than 6-8 years of age, appeared. The boy was unusually small, even for a boy. His red hair and his small fangs were adorned like a curse. Behind him, a thick wolf-like tail trailed. The boy rushed to Akira, grabbed his collar, and pulled him ahead.

[Boy] “Hurry! We have to get you to safety! T-t-they’ll torture you! Hold on right!”

The boy pulled Akita’s unmoving body out of the clearing and rushed with him in tow amidst the trees. If Akira looked up, he’s see the boy bear dozens of scars all over his body and face, perhaps a calling to the ”torture“ he mentioned. The boy howled as he went the Curse of the Howling Wind - a howl of sadness and fear.

Behind them, the mob advanced, the dozens of adults with all manner of weapons now present by silhouettes. The boy keep running with the immobilized Akira in tow. If Akira looked closely, he’s see the mob chasping them had banners. Flags of a single color; red. The flag of the Revolution Army.

The boy had saved Akira of certain danger, but for how long? The mob was catching up - the boy had a hard time losing them with Akita’s heavy body. Yet the boy would not drop Akira. Akira could finally feel a tingling on his fingers. Though slow, his arms began regaining movement.

As the howling reaches the point of being too close, Akira’s body barely respond well – it seems that whatever he was given isn’t too severe enough that shut his body off, though it will still take a while before he can start to actually do something. This means that Akira would not be able to move for now – though he could still use Haki as a form of defence, this would quickly be not needed due to the sudden shouting, where light started to emanates behind the creature, increasing in size as it would seem that help arrives, or so he thought.

With his vision clearing from a blurred vision to a more cleared image of the forest, the eyes are slowly getting used to the darkness, thus he can be more aware of his surroundings. In mere moments, a young boy sprang out from the pair of yellow eyes, showing not just the same pair of eyes previously, but also of animal features, notably the tail, this boy would start grabbing by the collar and dragging him away, a hidden, and surprising strength which the boy held. A mink? Akira wondered, as the boy attempts to save Akira from being witch-hunted by the group of humans chasing behind, which based off the mob’s words, doesn’t sound good for Akira either.

Still being dragged by the boy in tow, Akira could see the banner of the mobs – something which is interesting to see in this town. Mumbling to himself, even the boy could hear the words of the boy he is saving.

“….. Ironic huh.”

His words may not make sense to his saviour, but it would seem that it is something for Akira to contemplate about. He has a few choices, but considering the circumstances with the old lady, and how superstitious this town supposedly is, one of the choice he could have taken is impossible in this situation. Thus Akira has two big choices he has to take, take out the mob and be the villain for Alfheim or simply get away first to see what is truly going on. For now, Akira would take the latter choice, trying to make sure his body is capable of moving, Akira have very little time to deal with the mob, soon he can feel his fingers moving, and in a few more moments, he should be able to use his arms, though he still could not move his legs, Akira waited till he could swing his arm before he immediately withdrew his sword – he does not need much movement, only to swing his sword.

Given the forest has a lot of trees, Akira only needed to slow the mob down till the point where either his legs return or the mob is unable to catch up. With each swing of his sword, Akira generated airblades, aiming each towards the trees between them, where it would cause trees to fall down that aims to stop the mobs from advancing, or at least delay them. Akira also aims several of them directly to the ground in front of him, where he threatens the mob from trying to get too close, this may likely force the mob from chasing too much or else they may throw their lives away for chasing too recklessly, it also forces dirt to be thrown into the air, acting something like a smokescreen that further delays the mobs.

Name: Crescent Moon
Rank: C
Description: The user can generate an air blade with a swing of the sword. (31 Shuurin, 31 Strength)

The Curse of the Howling Wind!
Enter the Demon?! - #7
@Sea

In strange land, Akira had entered the Curse of the Howling Zwingli. Villagers fled upon sundown. He obtained shelter from a old woman, telling him the tale of the demon whom a witch created to safe the land, only for its bloodlust to overcome the land. Loneliness, or hunger, beckoned the monster’s howl.

Not all was as it seemed. The old woman poisoned Akira with dark magic, revealing herself to be the witch. Left in the cold woods, the monster appeared. Suddenly, the light showed him to be a young boy, running away from pursuers who had tortured him; the Revolutionary Army.

In a show of unselfishness, the monster had saved Akira, dragging him as they fled from the mob. Akita’s hands became responsive, and trees were cut down to lose the pursuers. It worked. However, the trees falling shook the ground, and both looking back, did not see the ravine they encountered.

Both fell to the rocks below.

[Boy] “Ahhhhhhh! Look out below!”

As they fell, the boy kicked Akira, forcing him to land on slush snow. This act forced him to fall on the rocks, the boy’s body bouncing off the rock and ending up in the foot of a cave.

The boy was knocked out. His young innocent face with blood. Akira could finally move his whole body. While he could move, his speed and strength were not even 40%. If he looked towards the boy and the cave, he’s see black wolves coming from the cave and approaching the boy.

Akira was successful in fending off the mob, through the use of his sword techniques that pretty much impeded the mob advancements fairly easily, it seems that there are no individuals strong enough to clear through the logs fast enough within the mob that would indicate problems, but for now, Akira would not have to worry about the mobs for now. However, due to his lack of negligence to ensure the boy would focus on what he is doing – as no words were spoken to him by Akira to reassure the boy, an error that immediately came back to bite him in the ass when they ran towards the ravine with little hesitation, since the boy did not see and Akira is definitely not able to see where they are headed to, the pair would fell off the ravine, surprising Akira – though such would not be too big of a problem of someone of his ability even in his weakened state – he is fairly durable and has been in worse situations. However, this is not the case for the boy, though the boy’s quick actions pushed Akira into a softer landing spot, and as Akira cannot move very well, he was not able to do much for anyone else but himself at the moment.

As they dropped down completely to the bottom, the boy however hit the hard rock instead, causing Akira’s saviour to be bleeding out from injuries occurred by the fall. Left unconscious, this is not a good look for the both of them. Slowly standing up, Akira cursed under his own breath.

“Damn this w-!”

Before Akira could complete his sentence, he noticed the cave that the boy has dropped closed to, and the denizens of the cave have appeared, revealing to be a pack of wolves. With his strength slowly recovering, normal wolves should not be a problem – but this will lead to blood and howling, a problem that would undoubtedly attract the attention of the unwanted. If he has to get rid of the wolves, then his only option is to buy time till any others came to the cave. Immediately, Akira clenched his sword tightly as he spoke and slowly walked forward, generating voice to ensure that the wolves would focus their attention on him instead.

“Hey. If I were you I would leave the boy alone.”

Surely the wolves shouldn’t be able to understand, but once their attention is changed, Akira would coat his sword black with Haki and swing towards the side, cutting down a small tree beside him that would fall forward towards the wolves and the boy, but it would not land directly to cause harm to either of them where rather it lands towards the side, since his ploy is to scare the wolves away if possible. However, should the wolves decided to attack Akira instead, the older boy would utilize his Haki to see the movements of the wolves, enough for him to deal with them.

The two had landed, one in soft snow, another in hard ground. Akira made his way to the boy as wolves were summoned from the cave. They approached the boy until Akira spoke threateningly. The pack leader, with a long scar running over his right eye, glared at Akira.

The boy regained consciousness for a moment and looked up,

[Boy] “B-b-rother....?”

The wold pack leader had turned. With disdain, he shuffled his left back foot, causing snow to be thrown at the young boy, the wolf then howled lowly, and the rest of the pack went inside the cave. The young boy fell back into unconscious, before the wind picked up.

A snow storm roared over the ravine. It was coming closer. They had to find shelter or run. But who was this boy?

Fortunately, whether or not Akira’s threat manages to work or not didn’t matter, the fact is that the wolves retreated. However, an interesting situation happened where the boy would regain consciousness for a moment, speaking to the wolf before he blacked out once more. Which would lead to the wolf pack howling for a short while before going back to the cave. With the immediate threat gone, Akira can sigh in relief as he sheathes his weapon – the night is growing worst with each passing moment. Looking at the state the both of them are in, Akira would have to pick the ones that are least likely to kill them – thus the cave. He can still deal with the wolves at his state, but he would need to be very careful regardless – they have no light for the cave. Dragging his feet, Akira would pick up the boy on his arms, and trudge his way into the cave slowly, his condition and the heavy snow limiting his movements further.

For Akira, it would seem that the boy has a connection with the wolves considering either they perceive Akira as a stronger foe and thus left them or that it is by the boy’s doing. Regardless, by probability – taking the risk with the wolves has a lesser chance of getting attacked. As such, Akira placed themselves not too deep in the cave, which is incredibly dark enough. If the wolves were to come Akira could probably hear their footsteps, and if the mob comes, the fire and loud noise would be enough of an indication. It is a big risk but Akira would have to take it, until he has sufficiently recovered. For now, Akira would gently put the young boy on the cavern wall, as he would sit beside – eyes opened to keep track of his surroundings, regaining his strength and waiting for the boy to wake up once more.

Akira had taken the boy inside the cave, opting to leave the wolves to the deep part of the cave. A clever idea. The wolves did not attack. Instead, their yellow-slit eyes, similar to the boy’s earlier today, glowed in the darkness deeper in the cave, keeping a watchful eye on both of them. Akira‘s body was still around 40% strength. Outside, the snowstorm fell upon them. No mob could brave the storm; for now, they seemed to be in peace.

Rested against the wall, the boy groaned. His eyes quivered open, seeing mostly darkness. His eyes, however, were special, and quickly adjusted. He turned to see Akira sitting besides him. Suddenly, the boy jumped.

[Boy] “P-P-P-please! I’m n-n-n-not a monster! Don’t hurt me!”
The boy jumped to the side. He tried to hide behind a rock fixture inside the cave, but did it backwards; his whole body was showing. Akira could feel the boy’s fear was palpable and real. Those scars on his body glowed in the sliver of light that came from outside.

Who was this child? Was he really the monster the witch had created? Akira had been closer than most humans ever got. An island stricken with fear of the Howling wind. The Revolution present. A careful balance. With a finicky child, Akita’s actions next would perhaps be determinative.

After a while of resting, the sounds of groans can be heard beside Akira himself, it seems that the boy has regain consciousness. Unfortunately, the wakeup was rather noisy, having some form of quiet that is immediately broken into a fairly loud noise. Regardless, the child was obviously afraid, especially based on his tone. His wording however, made Akira believe that while the myth is not a complete hoax, but rather fabricated to scapegoat a child, that in which was something Akira while not expressed in any way, feels is a rather troublesome and sensitive issue personally, for the lack of a better word. Unlikely that the child is aware of anything relating to the legends and its origin due to what has transpired so far from what he has seen. Not moving, Akira would prefer if things are quiet – he still feel sluggish and tired, thus he responded to the boy’s pleas coldly.

“If I wanted to hurt or kill you, you wouldn’t be alive.”

Probably unfortunately for the townspeople and the old lady, he has no intention of killing a child, but to say the same for the townspeople is a different story. That said, Akira being aware that the boy would likely not be able to answer his questions, Akira made sure he at least has some clearer idea on who is right or wrong, before jumping into conclusions.

“I assume you are who they refer to as the cursed of the howling wind. Why did they call you a curse?”

The Curse of the Howling Wind!
My Name is Fenrir! - #10
@Sea

Akira had decided not to kill the boy, to protect him. Things could have gone much different if he had not cared. The boy, still cowering, listened to man who spoke within the cave. For the first time in years, when spoken to, someone actually looked him in the eyes. Akira looked him in the eyes, The Curse of the Howling Wind, he asked. Those words made the boy widen his eyes and lower his chin in thought.

The boy spoke softly.

[Boy] “I-I-I-Is that what they are calling me now? I’ve heard so many names: Demon, Devil, Scourge, Darkness, The Boy Who Brings Death, The Curse.... ”
The boy brought his palm up, staring at it. Staring at it as if he were himself trying to figure what he is. He lowered his head and spoke softly once more.
[Boy] “They would come in the dead of night, my father said. After our island’s riches. Little by little, my father felt his throne slipping away. My father clung to it like the child he actually wanted to have.
[Boy] “He made a deal with The Witch. He did not even bat a second thought. In exchange of his second-born son, he would have a weapon. A weapon to slay those who would come for his precious throne.”
The child’s nails suddenly grew as the anger rose in his voice. Nails formed into claws. Claws that dug into the stone he was clinging against like a knife stabbed in butter.
[Boy] “My father’s new “advisors”, those soldiers who chased us, now seek that weapon. Yet, the whole island fears me, despises me, hates me, doesn’t think I shoud live. Though they obtained their peace, they did not give me mine. Not even the wolves.”
The child had turned to Akira. The moonlight lit his face, showing the tears streaming down his face. Where he was a child, he had grown much in despair. With a quivering voice full of conviction, he whispered.
[Boy] “Do you know what it’s like? To be hated for being alive? To be treated as a weapon? As a curse? Having no one who knows or cares to know your true name...? ”
[Boy] “MY NAME IS FENRIR!!!!!”

Akira got the boy’s answer to his questions, but he did not expect the boy to get agitated – although it is an emotion he should have expected from the boy. Truth to be told, both Akira and the boy have similar experience, while one was forced into servitude for survival, the other struggled to survive after betrayal. Even though the experiences are vastly different, such emotion was something Akira once felt, anger and hatred.

As the boy would slowly transform into a more beast-like form, his voice grew louder up till he would shout his name, as Fenrir. A voice filled with conviction, but in response to the boy’s emotional words came a cold-hearted response of two words, there was no shouting back by Akira, but merely a reserved tone – his arm would stretch, aiming his sword still kept in its sheathe and point towards the boy’s neck, barely touching him.

“Settle down.”

Those words are not of a threat, despite the actions – it was simply cold, one may even feel fear given how coldly Akira responded. The boy is too rowdy and Akira would prefer a quiet atmosphere, his voice would merely serve to attract unwanted attention and the older boy Fenrir has rescue would prefer not to get a headache from the rowdiness, his physical health has not fully recovered and the boy already left tinnitus into Akira’s ears. Soon afterwards, Akira would gently let down his weapon, his eyes do not meet the boy’s as he continues to rest as much as he could. The biggest difference between Akira and the boy right now, is how they deal with such emotion. As someone who is in possibly the worst pirate crew, it’s hard for Akira to use his experience to deal with the boy despite knowing how the boy would come to feel. Taking a deep breath, he finally sighs as he would open his eyes to look towards the boy.

“Your situation is not special, somewhere out there someone is hurt, betrayed and damaged too. Anger and hatred are things I too, used to channel the same way as you just did. Learn to control them and you will see your path clearly.”

Clearly, Akira words are not one of compassion nor sympathy – it is how he survive in the Spada Pirates, the way in which a boy of similar age as Fenrir grew up in the midst of humiliation, confusion and anger. Keeping aware of sounds, given the shouting voice by Fenrir, they may soon attract the wolves or even the angry mobs should they decide to find their way around the cliff.

The boy’s head came down as Akira spoke. His claws retracted and his eyes grew wide, filled with tears. Fenrir looked at Akira and heard his story. A story similar. Yet here stood a man proud and able. Akita’s past did not haunt him; he used it.

The boy turned to Akira and bowed slightly.

[Fenrir] “Y-y-y-you’re right, Big Bro. Help me control my past.”
Fenrir looked up to Akira, nicknaming him ‘Big Bro’. It had been the first time anyone had a knowledges his existence, the first time someone gave a damn enough to give advice. The first time he met someone like him.
[Fenrir] “What about you, Big Bro? Looks like the witch got you. You’re not here by mistake. What are your channeling your anger into? Why are you here?“

The wolves remained static, their eyes evert stalking them. Outside, the snowstorm began to die down. Soon they may be hunted again. Until the snowstorm let us, they were relatively safe, or trapped, however best pleases the mind.

Akira would listen to the boy’s request of teaching him how to control himself, however it is not something Akira is qualified to do so, nor would he wants to teach the boy to control himself. Such emotions are best left for the boy to learn to do on his own, he may empathize the boy’s problems but he is no solution for the boy’s problems. Then the root of the problem came, the witch which so far seems to be centre of everything as the boy would wonder how he would come to be. Akira however, being blunt – simply spoke in response to his questioning.

“I came here to investigate the curse, and if possible deal with it.”

However, Akira didn’t technically come to Jotun, he has no idea where is he – assuming he is somewhere still in Alfheim, but until he has his bearing correctly adjusted, he would assume himself to be in some northern region of Alfheim. With the snowstorm slowly subsided, perhaps it is time to move, as Akira would stand up – testing his physical ability to make sure he have rested enough, and recovered enough to be of similar physical levels before being drugged. Soon he would have to move out of the cave and see where the angry mobs are, they are the source of information he would need to get in order to get a clear picture of what is going on right now. He needs to return to that town and deal with the witch.

“And I heard the isles has a group that I would like to deal with.”

The Curse of the Howling Wind!
My Name is Fenrir! - #12
@Sea

The boy’s head came down as Akira told him to deal with it himself. He seemed sad and disappointed. The man went on as the storm died down. The snow had stopped, and the light of dawn broke through the entrance of the cave. Then, the man spoke of his mission.

Fenrir stood up, puffed his chest, and beaming with new-found confident, spoke.

[Fenrir] “I know where my father’s army congregates! The Army controls our people from there.”
The boy looked outside and saw the storm had died down. He quickly grabbed his things and looked to the horizon, as the sun split through the thinning clouds.

[Fenrir] “I‘ve been in hiding too long. You’ve given me the confidence I need to confront my father. I am not a demon. I am Fenrir!”
[Fenrir] “I-I-I-If they want a monster, I’ll give them a MONSTER!”
With those words, Fenrir grew fur and fangs. A partial transformation in emotion, he seemed resolute. Fang, as Fenrir called him as he approached, the leader of the wolves, came from the darkness. At least two dozen wolves with the same fur and fangs as Fenrir came out of the darkness of the cave.

Fang, recognizable by the on his left eye, howled. Fenrir nodded in gratitude; he must have understood him. For the first time, Fenrir had accepted who he was, and the pack embraced him.

Fenrir would take off, with the pack of wolves behind him. If Akira followed, they would trek for hours through the woods and plains. They would pass a giant wooden bridge towards the next island, towards Migard. If Akira wanted to inquire, now was the time. His strength had come back around 70%.

War would soon be upon them.

It was surprising how easy is it for Fenrir to simply regain his confidence, perhaps the boy will truly be free from his past and look towards the future, something that not even Akira has such a luxury to dream of, pretty hypocritical of Akira himself. Or perhaps the boy despite his troubling past have not experience real despair, though Akira isn’t like La Spada, or the other crew members – they would toy with him so much as to shatter the boy’s world after everything is done. Clenching his fists and standing up, Akira could feel his strength is slowly returning, and now that Fenrir has his confidence, alongside with the same wolves from the cave that emerged from the darkness. The snowstorm is slowly subsiding, and the sun is coming out which means things will be less cold for Akira, even being in the cave was already cold – there was not much heat. Following the boy and the wolves from the back, they trekked through a very long hike, even till the sun has risen even higher towards noon. And a few hours later, Akira finds himself towards a large wooden bridge. But he has no clue where are they still. But with the hours of trekking, he could safely conclude he is not in Alfheim which is more of a swampy region.

As the group approached the bridge, Akira would look around – especially past the bridge to see if there are any of the mobs around. The bridge would likely be a pretty good ambush spot, thus instead of walking from the back, Akira had to protect the boy and his pack of wolves. Before he would do so, he asked the question that have been on the back of his head, he needed to get his bearings right.

“I had assumed this isn’t Alfheim… Probably either Jotun or Migard. Regardless, I don’t like that the angry mobs have not been seen since yesterday. Let me cross first, watch out from behind on your own.”

And with that, Akira would take a step forward on the bridge, should the angry mobs be around he could at least react faster if his at the front. Checking his surroundings as he walked carefully, especially to see what is below the bridge, another ravine perhaps?
