A fighting arena was located in the basement of Marineford. A specified area, surrounded by expensive barricades that cost more than some battleships, where soldiers fought for a variety of reasons, such as promotion, to settle a beef, or simply for fun. It was the latter today. As people arrived to witness the only fight of the day, the arena was charged with excitement and anticipation. Shaarib Hassan was back at the main base. The last time he visited, the entire arena had been destroyed, forcing Marineford to undergo considerable restoration. which caused SHaarib to lose months worth of pay. His last fight had no victors so people were dissatisfied. But Shaarib had a punchable face.

The 169th circulated flyers around the entire base as normal, and betting was available. Who was going to kick the Prodigal Son’s ass ? Who was the mystery opponent he was meant to face today, exactly? They were unaware that Shaarib had learned his lesson. He wasn't going to disrespect any of the admirals today by engaging in a fight with one of them. Instead, it was an open competition where anyone with smoke could attend and participate. From the ensign to the heavy guns, they would receive the Vice-Admiral's salary for an entire year if they were able to defeat him. He even had to pay someone to record the play by play. They done their best to enhance the experience of the audience. The more the fans would be in it, the more they would bet or pay for drinks. All offered by the 169th obviously.

The main attraction sat at the center of the arena, he had a white Marine Uniform, he had the cap with the Marine logo on it, and even the bleu scarf around his neck. Shaarib had decided to cut his beard and his moustache only leaving him with big afro under the cap. At his foot he had the same sandals he wore through his travels. At his mouth, you could see an already lit cigarette. The Vice-Admiral had been waving at Momongas and the old guard. He was excited to see who was going to fight him. Suddenly, the light was cut and two projectors flashed the gate said opponent would come through. Shaarib expelled the smoke between his teeth and braced himself. That asshole better be good tho.

Deep within the bowels of Marineford, many members of the navy gathered at a certain arena to witness the fight of the day. The area was super charged with excitement and anticipation as Katsumi Adachi, upcoming marine in the organisation, made his way through the crowd. Having lost his way, he tried to navigate his way through the stands. He had only just recently found out that a place like this resided here. With how busy his schedule was cleaning up the weaker blues, he never had the time to learn about events such as this within the force.

As the 169th circulated flyers around the base, Katsumi scoffed. He had heard about his opponent before, Shaarib Hassan, the man who had previously disrespected the Admirals and challenged one to a fight so intense it destroyed Marineford, or atleast that was said. Today, it was an open invitation. Anyone was allowed to challenge the great Shaarib to a battle of hard combat, with the promise of a Vice Admiral's salary if they managed to defeat him. This wasn't a offer Katsumi could refuse, money like that would be greatly beneficial for the upkeep of his squad. Especially for a new face like him.

Finally he had found where he needed to be, the entrance to the arena. Signalling to the soldiers near the entrance, it was finally time to make his appearance known. Then suddenly, the lights were cut, followed by the activation of the arena projectors that flashed light towards the gate. Katsumi walked through the gate with a lazy expression, he had decided not to wear his full marine uniform as usual, donning his marine cap that covered his white hair and bright green jacket accompanied by his black shorts and black sandals. Beyond the gate, Shaarib stood at the centre of the arena, waiting to see who his opponent was. With hands in his jacket pockets, Katsumi walked towards his opponent, ready for whatever came next.

"So this is the famous Shaarib Hassan..."

Shaarib did not appreciate how nonchalant his challenger had been. The soldier had the chance to fight a Hero and wasn't even acting like it. His entrance had been nothing but basic. He did not even try, the soldier was focused on the Vice-Admiral. This was bad for the business, they needed a baby-face since Shaarib was one of the less liked Vice-Admiral at the HQ. They needed someone bright enough to rally the soldiers around. A challenger with enough charisma that they would believe in his chances and thus bet all their salary on him.

The Skypiean needed to help the white-haired, while the rookie was slowly walking toward the Skypiean, the ground beneath them began to shake. The ground behind Shaarib began to fragment itself into multiple pieces. Each piece being a cube of 1m3. The Hero of the Festival began to move his fingers in the air, jerking the cubes in every direction to impress the crowd. The fragments stopped in the air and Shaarib tried to look menacingly at his challenger. Suddenly the platform under Katsmui exploded. Multiple pillars made of stones came at him trying to pierce his body. The Vice-Admiral didn't even wait for the referee to call the match and with his splendid distraction, he had already attracted all the anger from the public.

As Katsumi drew closer, the ground vibrated violently as the earth behind of Shaarib began fragmenting into multiple smaller cube-like pieces. The marine took a single step back in confusion, unsure of what was happening as the referee hadn't called the match. Shaarib moved his fingers through the air and cubes followed, flying in all directions impressing their audience. Katsumi was not impressed. Is this guy serious?

"I thought this was a fight, not a circus show." He said jokingly.

The fragments would suddenly midair as Shaarib looked at Katsumi menacingly. The Marine's lazy expression morphed into a serious one. But it was already too late. The platform beneath Katsumi's feet exploded as multiple stone pillars came at him with intentions of piercing his body. With little to no time to react, the marine could do nothing more than defend his body with Busoshoko Haki.

Katsumi's Durability: 101: 6. City Level +2=8. Island Level

DPR equal to dura: normal damage
The pillars hit into the young marines body, sending him flying into the air at high speeds, blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. A distraction. Katsumi should have known, but he didn't expect another marine to fight dirty. He couldn't help but be impressed all the same.

"Gotta admit, that was pretty dishonorable for a Marine! I like that! Now, Kamisori!"

Using a the combination of Geppo and Soru, Katsumi recovered the blows almost immediately, moving in a zig zag pattern around Shaarib. Left. Right. Right. Left. Up. Down. The Marine kicked off the air in all directions, attempting to make his movements as unpredictable as possible, before finally kicking at high speeds, unleashing multiple Rangyaku directly above Shaarib. As these air blades travel towards him, they explode into an array of smaller blades, showering his opponent in a rapid fire attack of Rangyaku.

"Rankyaku: Samidare!"

Shaarib smiled, a toothy grin. His plan had worked, the kid had been sent flying, and he was distracted by the circus show and did not see the pillars coming. The crowd around him went into an uproar, Shaarib was cheating, he was not fighting fair. What a despicable marine he was, how could a Vice-Admiral be that vile to a Lieutenant ? Shaarib stopped laughing for a bit, was he really fighting a Lieutenant ? He at least thought a Rear-Admiral would try to mess with him, not a Lieutenant !

- "I can't lose..." muttered the man as the white-haired disappeared

Lieutenant Kasumi was it ? The soldier had used a combination of ROkushiki moves, to travel faster. He then launched a multitudes of air blades at the Vice-Admiral not knowing about his Devil Fruits powers at all. Shaarib knew he was immune to the attack but still acted like he was worried. The skypiean put his arm above his head and try to sell the best he could. The rain of blades fell on Shaarib until it stopped. Shaarib began laughing, he looked untouched, until his right forearm fell to the ground, apparently cut off. The Vice-Admiral clutched his arm with his other hand and began to yell. With his furor, the cubes began to fall straight on the Lieutenant trying to bury him while Shaarib, the kid that he was, rolled on the ground.

After being the first to take damage, Katsumi rained down a storm of miniature rankyaku air blades on his opponent. Shaarib put his arm over his head in defence as the attack rained down on him fiercely and unrelenting. After all, this was a serious fight against a Vice Admiral. There was no need to hold back. After a moment, Katsumi finished his attacks, landing on the ground with a thud. A large amount of dust had gathered where Shaarib stood. Katsumi waited.

The young marine didn't expect such a move to take him down. Infact, he had heard that the Vice Admiral possessed the Mythical Zoan: Phoenix. Not any longer, Katsumi expected to see the fruit in action. However, as the dust cleared, all that could be heard was Shaaribs maniacal laughter. The Vice Admiral was untouched, until suddenly his right forearm fell to the floor. Shaarib screamed in agony, to the surprise of the young marine. There was no sign of healing in sight.

"What the shit!?"

His confusion would flow deeper as cubes rained down on him at insane speeds. Only able to react at the very last minute, Katsumi coated his palm in Armament Haki before thrusting it forward unleashing a shockwave that would like a wall between the projectiles and himself.

-Air Wall Palm: Defensive move. It creates a shock wave which act as a wall to block attacks which equal or below the defence.(21 Mastery, 21 Strength ) DPR: D

120: 5. Town Level+3(CoA)=8. Island Level

DPR : A ==> 5 + 3 => 8. Island Level

Equal DPR: Attacks cancel each other out, though the area around the clash may still take damage.

The techniques would cancel each other out. The power emitted from both left the ground under Katsumi's feet cracked. He then turned his attention to the strange Vice Admiral, who rolled on the ground dramatically the entire time. Katsumi observed as the man's arm lay on the ground, yet no blood leaked from it. Rolling his eyes, the man spoke with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"You can drop the act. I know this didn't do anything to you. I heard you had the Phoenix fruit, so how did you rain those attacks from the air? That clearly wasn't Rokushiki!"

Shaarib smiled from his spot. The cut-off part reformed and took its original position. Kasumi saw through his acting. Although the marine was a newbie, his sense of detail was pristine. He accurately responded to an unknown attack and kept his calm enough to catch on to the crucial facts: While Shaarib's arm was cut, there was no blood on the ground, nor was he bleeding. From that he made a fast deduction, either the SKypiean had ultra-fast regenerative abilities, or he just couldn't get hurt from cuts.

The Vice-Admiral let out a small laugh. It was true, he ate the Phoenix Fruit, life happened and the sea was full of mysteries. If you had people with incredible bodies, bodies strong enough to consume two fruits, why would someone changing fruit impress anyone ? Shaarib took some step forward and said :

- "Ma ma, I'm just that special mate. I learned a thing called magic, ever heard of it ? " finished the Vice-Admiral, creating a little cube and shaping it into variable forms. "
