Also I think they meant if they can join the host/role/mafia chats and watch the game as kind of lurker. I did it once too on OJ. Aa-dono is a good person. Already played a game with them.

On OJ we used to allow spectators to join all Role PM's and have a convo with the host. It helps them see how regular mafia works and the process behind it. It is how we also started shaping people into hosts like Nana

Like Rej said, spectating like having access to mafia chat etc (of course I won't post). In my homesite, we have a separate chat for spectators where they can discuss about the game while it's ongoing. It's basically like being a host without the rights to post/moderate. You get to see everything that's happening, but you can only discuss with other spectators in the prepared private channel/chat/thread.
