Synopse: The series is set on the world of Scadrial, a world covered in ash and red, ruled for a thousand years by the tyrannical "God" known as the Lord Ruler. We follow Vin and Kelsier, as well as their band of misfits as they set out to take on this would be god, aided by the mystical powers known as Allomancy, the art of being able to absorb the power of different metals to harness it for many or singular powers.

I need to find some time and read this, Wheel of Time and maybe some Malazan

First trilogy has 3 books, with one shorter book to go along and a short story. Theres also 3 more books out set in the same universe 300 years later. The fourth and last will be out next year or the year after.
