ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1040 QUICK SUMMARY
Big Mom survived Kid's "Damned Punk" from the last chapter and used "Life or Slave" to pull the lifespans from everyone around her.
Kid and Law stood between her and their crew. Big Mom tried to take away their lifespans, but it didn't affect them.

Law used a new ability “R Room: Silent” which is inspired by Corazón's Nagi Nagi no Mi power.
He created a sphere around Big Mom that could block any sound she make.
This stopped Big Mom's voice from reaching their nakamas or Kaidou's subordinates.
Kid kept shooting his “Damned Punk” at Big Mom until the floor collapsed and she began to fall.
“Misery” tried to help Big Mom but Law cut it down.

Big Mom fell and reached the basement armory, taking with her the bombs that Yamato froze and the fire demon.
She tried to grab something, but accidentally punched one of the bombs, which exploded.
The explosion destroyed part of the lower area of Onigashima and the fire demon.

As the explosion happened, Zoro is falling with no grim reaper around, Orochi is still busy simping Hiyori, Brook is still running with Robin.
The legendary ninja battle between Raizou and Fukurokuju is almost at its end.
Fukurokuju is lying on the ground screaming and asking for water, Raizou is still standing like a chad.

As Big Mom fell off the island, she thought about Roger. She wished he could've said what and where One Piece is before he died.
After she crashed into the hole Law's "Puncture Wille" created, we could see a huge explosion that was even larger than the size of Flower Capital itself.
Thanks to Law's "R Room", the sound of the explosion doesn't reach the city. Narrator announced that Law and Kid won the fight.

Cut to Momonosuke, he was talking to Yamato about the arrival of Zunisha.
Zunisha is apparently mentioned in Oden's journal as Joy Boy's nakama who committed a crime 800 years ago.

Seeing Momo in adult form made me realize something. That young man made the biggest sacrifice one could ever make and I'm sure he hasn't even realized it.

O C'mon dirty mind. He might have lost Carrot, Nami, Yamato, and Robin's chests. But pretty sure with his manliness, even the Oirans in Demon Slayer would go wild for him.

I am taking everything I said back. This BM vs Law and Kidd battle was superb. Fucking monster BM was. She's not dead fo sho but that's all it meant to be a fucking Yonko. Spammed by Electromagnetic charges/beams multiple times and just laughing at it.

But her reflection on Roger gave me goosebumps, it was huge.

I think they'll dismiss him now as they do with Brook and Sanji, Momo's mind is to perverted and he can't hide behind child innocence anymore. :feelstrashman:

Joking aside, this chapter was amazing but damn does the weekly break hurt every time cool stuff happens. It's Oda's own soul pocus, my heart. :pandacry:

yeah, it's no longer cute. and I hope that he somewhat matures so the retainers don't need to scold him for that.

I'm loving BM more after that tanking moments.

Big Mom will be back!
Though if there is anything I gleamed from her fight in this arc is possibly how her story will. For a while since WCI I thought about whether or not she could use collected souls to power herself up instead of turning them into homies. That ends up being confirmed and she displays she can use up some of her own soul for this as well when the beast pirates weren't enough. Since her df also relies on fear, I believe she eventually will be cornered in a future arc where no one present will fear her anymore (this will involve the Charlotte Family) and thus BM falls back on using her own lifespan for power not caring about how much she's using killing herself in the process.
