A lot of people, myself included, were left a bit perplexed when early spoilers revealed the BM crew was still lingering outside of Wano for some odd reason. Just didn't make sense that they'd been left out of the loop for so long or that they'd attempted no other action. Now that the chapter's out, I'm thinking this feeling of incredulity is exactly what Oda intended. There's some funny business brewing.
That neither Big Mom apparently nor the others were made aware of Wano's alternate entrance is a big red flag. One could argue it's simply a matter of the Kaido and Co. still not fully trusting the BM Pirates, but current trends seem to point in an ominous direction. Wasn't too long ago that Big Mom intended to spring a trap on Germa. Consider too the role that broken communication lines and false communiques played in neutralizing Udon and preventing Queen from discoverying what transpired -- as we're notably reminded in this very chapter. Lastly, I also notice we didn't catch a glimpse of two big names I believe may involved in a coup attempt against Big Mom, Compote and Snack; I believe even this too was every bit intentional on Oda's part.
What I'm getting at here is that someone on the Big Mom's ship may've been sabotaging communication lines or feeding their fellows false reports ala Babanuki in order to stall the ship's entry into Wano. How exactly this would play into a potential plot and betrayal against Big Mom remains in question, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get a scene where it's pointed out that Compote, Snack, and possibly a few others have suddenly gone "missing." To where? Probably snuck away in the middle of the night and entered Wano by some other route as pointed out by allied conspirators on the Beast Pirates' side of things or otherwise. I'm thinking Kaido himself has got some traitors scheming away under his own roof, possibly members of some unknown secret faction currently plotting to bring down both Kaido and Linlin by means of a coordinated strike involving turncoats from both sides.
Anyways, just speculation, but pay close attention if any Big Mom Pirates are soon mentioned to have "fallen off" the ship following Marco's attack, only to later reappear safe and safe on Wano under the same supposed circumstances as Big Mom and others, ie washing ashore.
Another possibility is that CP0 are themselves fucking with the BM Pirates' communication lines to likewise stall for time. I think the Cypher Pol hammer is destined drop at some point as well, but I imagine it'd take place at a later time in light of potential events to come, e.g. a possible wedding, a subsequent meeting of Underworld brokers ( particularly a replacement for Doflamingo )…

Burning birds vs melting candy

(WCI showed heat is weakness of Peros fruit)
It'll probably be Sanji melting his arm with a Diable Jambe. Persospero's probably a likelier foe ( bounty/power level wise ) than Queen imho. But then, this is probably going to turn into a wilder battle royale than Marineford with so many players involved, so a brief encounter ( potentially one of many ) consisting of a few panels of Sanji wrecking Perospero's arm as a small measure of payback for Pedro has good odds too.
