Koi D O
Koi-O, translating as Koi King.
LMAO KAIDORADOS
Sounds like Kaido manufactured chips made from SMILE xD
Btw, doesn't this DF break Oda no water affiliated creature for devil fruits ? I remember like a few years ago he shot down the idea of fish zoans...
If so, I wouldn't put it past Oda to lie.
And who knows, might this is the only fish-based devil fruit we'll be seeing; the exception to the rule, one of many we'll likely being seeing as the series progresses. It would play into the more philosophical Taoist themes I believe underscore the entire narrative, so far as it pertains to the overall fundamental theme of flexibility.
It could also pose yet another example of another functioning "paradox" of sorts that likewise lies at the heart of Taoist discourse.
How does a fucking fish-type devil fruit work? Simple answer: when the fish in question is a a dragon, ie a fish that can operate outside of water.
On that note, perhaps we will see more crop up, based on aquatic life that can likewise live outside of water, more or less: lungfish, fucking mudskippers, and the like. Then there're animals which've made a full-on transition, e.g. land-based crabs. And we have seen crab-based SMILES running around. Methinks this is all leading to some important plot points related to the topic of evolution and the idea of interconnectivity inherent in the concept.
Taking it further, maybe the entire zoan fruit category deserves a re-evaluation on its classification system; maybe all zoans can in fact be categorized under the fish-type umbrella. The common idea is that all life sprouted from the seas, after all. And as Whitebeard once stated, "we are all children of the seas." Would play neatly into the core message of everything remaining connected, in a sense the same or "equal," despite whatever divisions or unique distinctions may exist; variety and uniformity in perfect balance.
Perhaps the ultimate plot twist will be that all zoan fruits ( if not all ) fall under much grander categories: imagination, universal, Life, God, and such.
But I'm probably getting way too ahead of myself. I'll say this much though: I'm pretty sure we're going to get a Kami Kami zoan fruit or something along those lines soon enough; one that may also may raise some eyebrows as to its nature -- the Hito Hito or possibly Kami Kami no Mid model: Shinigami/Enma.
A zoan fruit that not only puts Kami ( alternatively loosely translating as god or spirit ) in the same category as all other living things ( hint hint, gods, spirits, and humans all one, pieces making up the whole ), as well as including a
death god. Think about it: Zoan type the Grim Reaper XD.
Or like something, I dunno, man *puts hands in pockets and wanders off*
