The air was sweet. The breeze was gentle. The sun was tall in the sky. Music filled the air. Bink’s Sake could be heard for miles. The jovial tone heard far from the shores of
Delta Island. An island hidden from the world, now welcoming. Three rivers drew in all visitors with open arms, drawing them to the lake in the
middle of the island, filled with celebration. Dozens of ships flooded the lake, stationed all around the shores. All looking for the promised Pirate King’s treasure.
Carved into the hills around that large lake were man made bridges that held shops, kiosks, restaurants, bars, saloons, gambling dens, music stages, and brothels. Carved high on top of the entrance from the North river, the largest, was a large observatory with a humongous stage suspended in the air. Dancers gyrated to the music of the band, joined by hundreds of pirates celebrating below.
[Band] “Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho! Binkusu no sake wo, todoke ni yuku yo! Umikaze kimakase namimakase!”
Those who arrived, by invitation or infiltration, would find the gentle sound of music would have a chorus: the sounds of cannons firing and swords clashing. Pirates. You can’t have a party without someone on the floor. Infighting was as much celebration as the alcohol drowned by the gulps. Truly, a celebration unlike the world had ever seen. Even easter eggs were present. Welcome to the Pirate Festival: Worst Generation.
Little by little, the worst of the generation arrived.
To the west, the On Air Pirates took the music to a whole nother level, leveling ships in celebration. The infamous
Scratchmen Appo was already the most rowdy. To the East, The Fallen Monk Pirates raided a bar. Standing across it, the burly Sky captain
Urogue fought nameless pirates, laughing heartily. On his shoulder, the Shandian had a tattoo of a temple. The temple whom his people had conquered in Skypiea. The temple where
that Skypiean baby had been found by Gan Fall all those years ago, the baby who now calls himself “sama” in honor of his adoptive grandfather.
To the South, the Bonney Pirates ravaged food like a boar at a buffet line. The ’Big Eater’,
Jewelry Bonney, splayed her legs and ate like a horse. Her pink hair matched her cheeks, rosy as she thought of the treasure. To the North, the third in line for Yonko, the imposing
Dragon Pirates walked the decks, pirates running away on mere sight. The infamous captain, Ichriryu, looked around. He balled his fist when he could not see
that pirate flag amidst the crowd. The ones he had been looking for: the Devil Pirates.
However, pirates were not the only ones in attendance.
[Smoker] “Hurry up! Remember we have a job to do! We don’t have time to look for your swords!”
Back against the wall of a sword shop in the Northwest was Rear Admiral
Smoker, his attire Pirate to blend in. Inside, Commodore Tashigi shopped, using the excuse to blend in. In the Southeast, a hand with heavy rings rolled dice in the small casino. A large billow of smoke covered the man in the mafia-style coat:
Crocodile. To the Southwest, men turned to stone, the very path opening up for the most beautiful woman in the world:
Boa Hancock.
Scattered across various tables all around the festival were men that blended in like chameleons. The camera, would focus on their ears, each sporting a single white earring. Only each other knew the symbol of Cipher Pol 0. One of them, a
tall lanky man with a mask, held the picture of a
pirate and crushed it into bits, a metaphor. Another, on direct orders from the Tenryubitto, sought
another. The one who had dared raise a hand to a Celestial Dragon.
[Law] “What a mess! T-t-t-he treasure… Damn! If I could only…”
The D. A bit inland in the towns amidst the forests, the Doctor of Death Captain of the Heart Pirates,
Trafalgar Law, moved through alleyways. He held his stomach, wounded, breathing hard. A search party was after him, forcing him out of the festival and into the frying pan. The man looked up to the sky, seeing the fireworks up high in the clouds. Beautifully ironic.
From an undisclosed location, Buena Vista looked into the distance. On his hands were two bounty posters. Posters of the special guests. One
infamous and another
notorious. Buena Vista seemed to speak to himself. In truth, the shadow of an imposing figure was in the back, eyes legendary red.
[Buena Vista] “Our two special guests have been spotted. What do you think of them?”
[Unknown Figure] “The son of the ‘Dark Elf’, eh? Kahahahaha! What a runt he turned out to be! I’ll do his father one last favor…”
[Unkown Figure] “And the other one. How dare he wear that straw hat?!”
The stage had been set. Will you survive the mouth of wolves? Find yourself. Find your path. Find the Pirate King’s treasure at the Pirate Festival!
