Duel Pretoria - A Battle to save an innocent Pirate

The Island of Pretoria. A peaceful island in the North Blue. Also, the island that happened to be the place of birth of one Vice Admiral Leo. Leo, who now called the Grand Line his home due to his Marine duties, had come back to the North Blue to come check on his home town. He did so every year. Little did Leo know, his return home would not be peaceful this time around. As he was sailing toward the shores of Pretoria, standing cross-armed on the deck of his ship, he saw a small boat with a pirate flag reach the shores ahead of him. A man disembarked from the boat and disappeared into the forest that separated the shores from the town at the center of the island. Leo's gaze sharpened. A pirate had come to his home town. Uncrossing his arms and clenching his fists, Leo took off. He bent his knees and crouched as his lower body turned into fire. With a burst of speed, he took off, flying toward Pretoria with great speed. Once above the shores of Pretoria, his right arm turned into fire and he roared.

Hiken!!!

Leo said, hurling his right arm forward and unleashing a huge amount of fire. The fire descended onto the trees, burning down a part of the forest. Leo saw the pirate escape narrowly and take off running through the forest.

Landing in the forest, Leo took off running after the pirate.

A small group of people were sitting on Pretoria's beach, a bit away from the regular spots due to who they were. They were from the Revolutionary Army and were having a break on the island before they carried on with their current mission. Their one large ship was hidden in a cove next to the beach.

Sat watching the waves hit the shore was the groups leader, a girl who could fit into the palm of your hand with a sword on her back. Her black dress was a bit sandy and she was moving her tail a bit to try and get rid of some sand that kept getting caught in it. Jade was in a unusual quiet mood; which just made her subordinates even more weary.

Sophie was Jade's second in command, however she was the one who organised everything and made sure they were on track. She had an intense expression under glasses, although that was nothing new; what was new was the hairstyle the girl next to her had done. "Amy, this hairstyle doesnt feel appropriate.."

"You shouldn't always have the same hairstyle, switching it up can be good" Unlike Sophie, Amy wasn't super serious and was actually quite cheerful. "Plus I think this style suits your hair colour more, silvery gray is unusual but having it up in a ponytail makes it look better."

"As long as its out of the way, I don't mind; it just feels odd to have it in a different style" She didn't pay much attention to her appearance, if it allowed her to function without worry it was fine.

Their conversation and the relaxing mood was interrupted by a loud sound from the nearby forest. Instantly most were alert and checking their surroundings, just in case it was the Marines or any other group attacking them. Sophie and Amy look at Jade, who was now on her feet looking at the forest.

The blast of fire from Hiken burnt down a part of the forest, alerting the Revolutionaries nearby. However, Leo, focused on hunting down the pirate in front of him, never took notice of the Revolutionaries that were off to the side. From the Revolutionaries' perspective, they would suddenly hear a man shouting for help from inside the forest.

Inside the forest, the pirate was seen sitting on the ground, backpedaling until his back hit the trunk of a tree.

W-wait, I didn't do anything wrong!

The pirate said, sweating nervously as he looked at Leo standing in front of him, towering at a height of over 10 feet tall. Leo glared down at the pirate on the ground, his gaze intimidating.

Are you a pirate?

Leo asked. The pirate nodded, too nervous and scared to lie.

Then that's what you did wrong.

Leo said. Embers of fire started to come alive on various parts of Leo's body, including his arms, legs, and back. Most notably, his eyepatch set ablaze as well.

Any last words?

Leo asked, ready to strike the pirate down on a moment's notice.

Within a few moments, Sophie could already tell what Jade was gonna do so just nods at her when the Dwarf looks her way. Taking control of the Revolutionaries, she gets them to gather everything up and be prepared for anything.

Jade heads into the forest, using her small size to ignore branches and anything else that would slow down normal sized people. She has to use her Observation Haki to narrow it down, but once she gets within a certain range she doesnt need it as she can hear one of them talking.

The Warrant Officer finds a pirate with his back to a tree and a very large man with fire starting to come off him glaring at the scared man. Despite not knowing too much about them, she could immediately tell he was a high rank Marine, his looks seemed familiar and his jacket was not like the ones of lower ranks.

I cant just watch him basically execute him though, so I need to interfere. Seeing various parts of his body had changed to fire, Jade guesses he was a logia; and even if he wasn't he would probably survive any attack she uses to stop him due to his rank. Drawing her sword she quickly moves towards him and tries to slash his leg; not using a technique since all she wants to do is stop them.

Leo towered over the scared pirate, more and more sweat pouring down his face. At this point, the sweat was not just from the nervousness, but also from the heat that Leo's fire was generating. Leo cocked his right arm backward. He clad his right index finger in ferocious black Busou-shoku no Haki. A swift Shigan would be able to take the pirate out of his misery. Taking a step forward with his left foot to get in range, Leo was ready. However, suddenly, his right leg was slashed by something. The part of the leg that was slashed turned into fire, indicating that no Busou-shoku no Haki was used in the attack. However, it was quite evident that Leo was being ambushed. His leg reformed and he turned around, looking around to see who the attacker was. At first, he wasn't able to spot the attacker, but the size of her sword made it easier. Jade, who was a Dwarf, wielded a sword that was normal-sized for a human. At first, it looked like a sword moving around on its own, but when Leo sharpened his gaze just a little bit, he saw the little Dwarf holding the hilt of the over-sized sword.

How bold of you... coming to a pirate's rescue. I'm assuming you're part of his crew?

Leo said, Jade too small and too far away at this point for Leo to be able to recognize her face and see that she was in fact not a pirate, but a Revolutionary bountied at 400,000,000.

En... jou... mou...!

Leo said. Fire ignited at his feet. One line of fire went to the left, and the other went to the right, both of the lines of fire curving in a half-circle and connecting to form a circle of fire. The circle of fire then rose up into a tall wall of fire. Leo aimed to isolate himself with the covering pirate, and the Dwarf that interfered. The temperature in the area would start to rise, and some trees in the immediate vicinity would be caught ablaze, creating a localized inferno inside the forest. Leo, who could control fire, made sure the inferno did not spread out uncontrollably. After all, this was his home island.

Having got his attention, Jade didnt expect him to make a wall of fire around them. Its stop any of them from escaping and anyone coming to help them, unless they could fly or jump over the columns of flame.

"This is a bit excessive, he is a single pirate who as far as I can tell hasnt done anything to warrant this kind of force" The Dwarf could tell he was a man of action and doesnt hesitate to use his power on seemingly anyone.

Despite her personality being all about avoiding hurting people when they have done nothing she feels is bad etc., she felt she will need to fight to get anywhere with this Marine. The heat makes her a bit uncomfortable but she could manage it for now. Moving to be somewhat inbetween the pirate and the fiery man; Jade brings her sword up and unleashes a small but fast air slash when she brings it down. Hopefully it would cut through the fire and the pirate could make his escape "Tiny Slash".

The tall wall of fire rose up, engulfing a circular area in order to trap the pirate and his savior inside together with Vice Admiral Leo. The intense blaze would continue to increase the temperature inside, which could potentially hinder everyone but the fireman himself. The small Dwarf started to speak, claiming that the pirate was ''just a single pirate who didn't warrant such force''. Glaring, Vice Admiral Leo replied to the small Dwarf, not entertaining her logic at all, showing little mercy or tolerance for piracy as a whole.

A pirate is a pirate. As for you... are you a Revolutionary by any chance?

Vice Admiral Leo inquired, now having gotten a good enough look of the small Dwarf's face to tie her to a bounty poster of a significant value. Before he could get an answer from her, she moved and then attacked with a small but fast flying slash. At the same time as the small Dwarf attacking with a flying slash, Vice Admiral Leo, too, attacked with something similar. Kicking with his right leg, he unleashed a powerful flying slash himself.

Rankyaku...!

The powerful Rankyaku, which was also several times bigger than the flying slash it clashed with, quickly overpowered the opposing attack, and continued on its path toward the small Dwarf, aiming to engulf her and cut her down. However, Vice Admiral Leo did not wait to see how she would react. Right as the Rankyaku clashed with the small Dwarf's flying slash, Vice Admiral Leo's hands already turned into fire. By the time the small Dwarf was done either clashing with, blocking or evading the Rankyaku, she would find herself surrounded by green spheres of fire.

Hotarubi... Hidaruma!

The green spheres of fire would erupt into fire, aiming to engulf the small Dwarf. To a normal human, this would result in a reasonbly-sized fire, however to the small Dwarf, this would be a giant hellish inferno. To make this worse, some of the small spheres of fire had strayed away from the small Dwarf and instead surrounded and erupted around the pirate as well, making it so that the small Dwarf would have two dangerous scenarios to deal with at the same time. Vice Admiral Leo was showing no mercy.

• Hotarubi:

Leo creates many small, green-colored fireballs that can float around the area. This is usually used in preparation for another attack. Unranked - supplementary move.

• Hidaruma:

Leo can surround a target with the many small, green-colored fireballs created by Hotarubi. Then, Leo can detonate the fireballs, engulfing the target in flames. Rank C.
