A Seed of Rebellion #9 @Lamby

Jason stopped in his path as he saw the chaos unfolding before him. Smoke and weapons filled the air, Darr and Juliet were doing their best to complete their task. Standing their ground and repelling their attackers, they so far had kept the king out of harm's way. And so for a moment Jason allowed himself to stand there and assess the situation, reaching out through the smoke and walls to sense his surroundings. His haki allowed him to sense well beyond the immediate area, even outside the castle itself on the side they were on. And there he sensed another figure, sneaking around. Could it be? He would have to investigate in a moment, for now there were more pressing matters.

Despite his defenses, Darr was thrown out of the smoke by the second grenade, falling to the ground next to Juliet. The princess screamed in fear from the shock and her father the King yelled in rage.
What are you doing you fools! Take them out, or they'll kill us!

Juliet turned to look towards him but was caught off guard as she spotted Jason approaching, removing the cloth wrapped around his face. Relief flooded her face as she grabbed and pulled Darr back away from the smoke. The other agent allowed himself to be pulled away from the action as Juliet urged the king and princess to head back the direction they had come, away from the battle. The Princess and King however cried out when they saw the stranger that was Jason approach. Another assassin!

No, he's with us.
This is our lead officer, he has come to assist us. Juliet said, straining to pull Darr with herself. Hearing the words spoken made Darr perk up, looking towards Jason and smiling in relief. Hey there boss, as you can see *cough* we have it all under control, but it is good to see you.

Jason looked at the four gathered before him and only nodded, then pushed past them, whispering to Juliet. Find somewhere safe. I will deal with these. Stay there until I call for you.

You are in charge? How could you allow it to get this bad, you bastard? I could have died!
The King yelled at Jason, not mentioning his daughter. The agent ignored the monarch, focusing instead on his task.

The unnamed rebel was laying motionless on the ground, as did Tomo, while in the distance through the smoke he sensed Goto, still alive. In the distance he sensed the fourth presence creeping away. After considering for a short moment, Jason sprung into action, diving into the unseen. He ignored Tomo and the other rebel, as he had judged neither to be a threat currently. Instead he rushed straight for Goto, using the smoke as cover to approach unseen. Finger extended like a sharp point, he aimed to drive it forwards into Goto's chest, though he made sure to sense for sudden movements.

The Plan Fails...
The Explosion devastated the entire area, Goto was separated from the Agents however he never planned to make it out alive. He took a bit of damage from the explosive radius of the Grenade and with the prior assaults and shots via the pair of Cipher Pol Agents he was worn out... "Well then... Do you forgive me; Layla?" he muttered as he leant onto a wall. His body was weary but strong enough for him to run but fighting was out of mind...

He closed his eyes for a moment as he tried to catch his breathe, the explosion had repelled his adversaries and left him bare, left him open and so he believed that he could rekindle himself before finally acting once more...

Goto'd been attacked! It was a sudden intrusion but an unknown figure entered the battle and gutted him right in the chest!

"DAMN!" He muttered as blood spewed from his mouth and leaked from his chest! "Well... This is what I deserved... After all I tried to kill a man because my own family suffered... GAHHGH!!..." Goto spewed out blood splattering the arm of the CP Agent who had just attacked him. "Sorry Kiddo..." He said apologizing to the man who had taken his life, His left hand reached for Jason's hand and held it softly... "So Layla I utter once more... Do you forgive me? I got up and did something, you hear me dear? I got up and did something with this worthless life of mine... haha..." Goto went quiet, his mouth closed and he slowly dropped to the floor, his breathing was labored and he sat there waiting for his death...

The Unnamed Rebel was buffeted by the shockwave of the blast however he kept his ground, Over head a piece of the Roof had fallen and it struck the man in the head. It split cleanly in two and knocked the Rebel out cold, his head fell forward and struck the ground; his forehead bled but showed no signs for subsequent damage.

Poor Adam...
"What have they done..? No, What have I done... I rushed the plan; I rushed it horribly and now I don't know if My team's alive. Was All of this truly worth Revenge; I threw my barrels without a conscience of the people who might've been hurt however I had some consideration as I decided to aim at a distance in which civilians weren't; so that's a plus. What that boy had said to me... If I turn myself in then I may get an easeful sentence... He's obviously lying, I am a terrorist. The Peace and true life I wanted was thwarted the moment I rushed the others to move along with me; where shall I go? Obviously the king will be more harsh onto us after this exhibition..." Adam sighed as his lament struck him, it weighed down upon his shoulders and the burden of the deaths that they may have suffered haunted him...

"...If I keep the rest of us safe then It will be enough compensation for my selfishness." Adam girded himself and took a deep breathe. He ripped his Mask off of his face and threw it off into the distance. He dashed off to the wreckage and walked into the open hall way, he stood stoically and looked about before falling upon the grim scene that had been painted.

"My Rebels, My King and Cipher Pol Agents; The Leader of the Rebels is here." He shouted, he dropped the Explosive Barrel at his feet and dropped his boot upon it's cover. Even the slightest of increase in weight upon the cover was enough to detonate it. Adam began shedding tears as he began speaking once more, "Kiss your children, Cherish your wives and lament at the mistakes you've made that have hurt others. Love one another and cherish the brotherly and sisterly bonds you may share; until your dying breathe... Do not kill my men or let the civilians of this kingdom suffer; here my plea and I will offer no resistance to you arresting and killing me." He said, his eyes watered bitterly but his words wavered not... He wished offer an ultimatum to transfer a message before he accepts his fate for had he be denied; he'd stomp on the explosive barrel and kill himself to atone for what he had done... so either way, Adam was prepared... to Die.

A Seed of Rebellion #10 @Lamby

Jason's face was clouded in shadow as his finger dug into the body of Goto. He listened in silence as the rebel spoke his last words. Even in darkness, his face was a mask of no emotion, though his eyes might reveal the truth. He hated having to do this, but he was left with no choice. The entire situation had spun out of control far too fast for him to do anything else. In the distance he sensed the other figure stopping, just as Goto's presence faded to nothing. Lowering the lifeless body to the ground, he rose to his feet and ran down the hallway as Juliet, Darr and the royals went the other way.

Adam stood still in the open, next to the barrel of explosives when Jason laid his eyes on him. Standing prepared to end it all, the rebel seemed to pause, deep in thought and regret. But Jason was done with destruction for tonight, he had found the man that had wrought so much chaos on the city and castle. Before he had the time to step down on the explosives, the agent quickly tapped his feet on the ground. Even if Adam had seen him, he would seem to disappear in a blur, before reappearing next to Adam.

His body hardened, he thrust a punch towards Adam's stomach. Imbued with his haki, he aimed to not only push his foe away from the explosives, but also greatly damage him, if not outright kill him almost immediately. He was already tired of suffering for tonight.

The Finale...
Adam... what a foolish sacrifice that was, his shout drew the attention of Jason Bourne. A Cipher Pol agent who had recently made his presence known by heading into the hallway, Adam wished to plead for the sake of the other Rebels who weren't involved in the massive attack. Tomo's plan was horribly pioneered and now this was the revolt that had sprung from the idea; it's execution was awfully made... Jason rushed at him at immense speeds...

Before Adam could even properly register the events that had unfolded right before his eyes; His Upper Body Exploded! The Punch ran right through him, his upper and lower body had a brutal parting; His torso flew backwards carrying a bit of the momentum from Jason's aggress. His Legs tilted backwards from the barrel and fell an eighth of a meter away from it and that was it... The Revolution had failed, Tomo laid on the floor unconscious along with the other Rebels; what's to come were the swift wings of Justice on whether the truth stays hidden or comes out.

Adam... His soul cried wistfully as the death of his peers tortured him as he went to the afterlife; he failed his sister, he failed Tomo and he failed everyone he had allied with. He lowered his head as his life swiftly sapped away with the blood that leaked out of the massive gape through his torso. He mouthed... "Save them..." and then his lips went soulless...

Jason felt numb, even as his fist connected to Adam's torso. His attack tore through the man's body, his fate sealed even before he hit the ground. Standing there for a moment, the agent regarded his bloodied arm with a blank expression. He was like a butcher walking from livestock to livestock, none of them ever stood a chance.

They never had, that was the entire point. Even if they had succeeded in killing the king, their lust for vengeance would not have led to lasting change. The people never would have followed them, as the blood on their hands were more likely to paint the whole town. The World Government would simply replace the king with another, and for a few years things might seem better, but in the end it would become the same.

Jason shook his head, cursing them for the waste of their lives. Well, he would make sure their pyres lit a fire to inflame the country itself. In the distance he heard the remnants of fighting at the front of the castle. Steeling himself, he prepared himself for the last of the butchering. The death of the rebellion. But from the ashes...

Half an hour later, Jason laid the last body of the rebels on the floor in the throne room. Not one of them was still alive, but most bodies were in better condition than Adam. His strikes had been precise and swift. He didn't wish to bring them needless pain, what came next would be enough.

What is this? King Sten's angry voice sounded through the throne room and Jason rose to stand at parade rest, facing the monarch as he approached. Stopping a short distance away, the king frowned at the sight of all the rebels, then looked to Jason. Why have you put them in this hall? Have them disposed of!

I thought perhaps that you would want to make an example of them. Jason said, his face a mask of neutrality. To deter any further rebellion.

King Sten kept his eyes on Jason for a moment, seemingly considering the proposal. His eyes had a hungry cast as they fell on the corpses again, taking them in in a new light.

Perhaps you are correct. The king said quietly, then perked up. They must have families too, we must root out any corruption at the roots.

Jason said nothing, but closed his eyes. He had feared the king would go for that, but there was nothing he could do now. The fire had been lit, he could not stamp it out any more. Nodding to the monarch, the agent turned and walked past the guards out the door. Juliet and Darr didn't say anything, nor did they meet his eyes as they fell in beside him. It was a quiet trio that left the courtyard and headed towards the docks.
