No correct. If he was actually mafioso, he is now the gf and the only killing role the mafia can have, keeping him blocked will make sure there is no kills, just in case we are wrong about someone else being the other mafia.

Indeed I do not see why this is something that would be need argued against. I mean there is no difference if they are correct whether I execute or not. Simply put there will just be no kill this night if they are right.
