Nah... Jailed person won't know until it's night phase since jailing someone is day phase thing while interrogating them night phase... all we need to know that if AFH has jailed pepper or not

he was jailed on the day just before he was killed. Shouldn't the kill fail if he was kept on the jail during the night phase? Or maybe the jailor chose not to jail him?

You send your action to Jail someone during Day Phase, and Jailed target will be notified following Night that they're jailed. So Jailer submitted their action to Jail Gambit Day 2, that means Gambit was Jailed for the following Night 3 and then during during Day 3 he claimed Jailed.
