Hi, Thriller Bark
I have a strange request to make about a story element.
I will be completely honest about this. There is a story element that has bothered me for a long while, and it concerns the Nefertari family line. It's an odd bit of reasoning, actually. It's also something that isn't well-thought-out because (1) it's difficult to find the in-story dialogue (2) the elements of the story that tie in together with that dialogue are unclear as it's possible that it relates to centuries of a history that is spotty at best. However, I need to determine whether or not there is actually something more to this piece of the story OR if there isn't.
So, I will present the main piece of evidence... which is questionable.
#1 King Kobra once mentioned that the Kingdom of Alabasta was doomed to misfortune and gloom because of *the grievous mistake of one of its ancient kings* who now slumbers in the Hall of Kings.
Additionally, the Hall of Kings (this name may be inaccurate) is a place where the Nefertari family has placed the deceased bodies of their previous kings.
--
The theory which this story element relates to is a rather encompassing one, and it's full of problems. It's easier to dismiss this idea than it is to try to make it work.
I have proposed in the past that Nefertari Vivi is the reincarnation of an Ancient King of the Nefertari Family. Similarly to Princess Shirahoshi and her relationship with Poseidon. However, I have also proposed that Nefertari Vivi carries special circumstances in her case. Unlike Princess Shirahoshi, who comes from the Fishmen Tribe, and is not associated with the World Government, Nefertari Vivi and the entire Kingdom of Alabasta are.
Ultimately, this theory suggests that Princess Vivi is the reincarnation of Uranus (a sky god).
My reasoning here considers (1) an ancient king of the Kingdom of Alabasta had made a grievous mistake (2) the ancient king of the Kingdom of Alabasta may have betrayed someone in the past (3) if the Kingdom of Alabasta betrayed someone in the past, then was it possibly Joyboy (4) did betraying Joyboy force the Kingdom of Alabasta to become allied with the World Government as part of the Human Kingdoms (5) is it possible that the Kingdom of Alabasta was NOT originally a Human Kingdom (6) if so, then perhaps the Kingdom of Alabasta was actually one of the three original Sovereign Entities that existed before the World Government did.
Prior to the World Government, it is my belief that there were two separate types of kingdoms in the past. They were (1) The Human Kingdoms (2) The Non-Human Kingdoms. The ones who ruled over the largest parts of the planet at that time were (a) The Precursor to the Fishmen Tribe (b) The Precursor to the Mink-Men Tribe (c) and the Precursor to the Sky Tribes. Each of them may have ruled over an entire environment.
I go further by suggesting that Joyboy befriended all three of the Gods who ruled over each environment, and in doing so, he became a World King thereby granting him The Voice of All Things.
To break that down,
Sky God = Voice of the Sky
Sea God = Voice of the Sea
Land God = Voice of the Land
World King = A Combination of the Voice of the Sky, the Voice of the Sea, and the Voice of the Land.
That is mostly head-cannon if that's what you want to call it. I did say it was easier to dismiss this idea than it was to try to support it.
In any case, that's the necessary information for my line of reasoning. The King of the Kingdom of Alabasta may have betrayed Joyboy, Poseidon, and Uranus in the past. In doing so, he also may have eternally *cursed* his kingdom, and it is this curse which King Kobra referred to when he described an ancient king committing a grievous mistake. However, I have been unable to find that exact dialogue again. Once in a while, I'm able to find something about the Hall of Kings but I end up reading like 10-20 chapters to try to find that dialogue again and I can't find it. So, that's where I'm left with it.

Further information about the Ancient Weapons:
The Ancient Weapons themselves are called Gods because they represent the power of a God. One is described as a warship (Pluton), Poseidon is Shirahoshi, and nobody really has an idea about what Uranus could be. Prior to our knowledge about Shirahoshi being a reincarnation of Poseidon, it was believed that each of the Ancient Weapons were some kind of inanimate object that were essentially weapons of mass destruction. Each of them were described to cause catastrophic events to ensue like destroying entire islands in a single blow or causing islands to sink into the sea. However, upon discovering that Shirahoshi herself was a reincarnation of Poseidon, it has become clear that the description of the so-called weapons are open to interpretation.
One of the aspects of this theory considers that the fear associated with the ancient weapons may be a fear of the unknown.
The civilizations that created these weapons may not be barbarians. They may, in fact, be sophisticated people using sophisticated technology.
Rather... I would suspect that the Ancient Weapons are forms of technology that Joyboy helped the Mink-Men, the Fishmen, and the Sky Tribes, to create.
So, actually... it might be more accurate to say something like the wild Non-Human Kingdoms really were full of barbarians to begin with. However, when Joyboy approached them he helped them to become more than that. He taught them how to use technology to overcome the problems that they couldn't figure out.
Basically... the non-human kingdoms were unintelligent. They used natural tools like their own claws and beaks and stuff like that to do things.
However... the human kingdoms were intelligent. They used scientific tools like microscopes and x-rays and stuff like that to do things.
When the human kingdoms met the non-human kingdoms... rather when Joyboy met Poseidon, Pluton, and Uranus... he showed them how to use their unique types of Haki to create new types of technology.
The ultimate forms of the technological feats they created would later be known as the Ancient Weapons.
So... ya... let me know if you find anything about the ancient king of the Nefertari family line.
I could be wrong.

This is kind of annoying to add... but
Gaia is endless. So is *Vearth!*
Vearth
Vearth ( 大地 ヴァース , Vāsu?, literally meaning "Earth"; Varse in the Viz Manga, FUNimation edited dub, and 4Kids dub.) is the name given to the world by the people of Skypiea. Though plants can grow on Island Clouds, they cannot germinate in them. Thus, vearth is the most valuable substance in Skypiea.
Fairy Vearth
Fairy Vearth (限りない大地フェアリーヴァース Fearī Vāsu?, literally meaning "Endless Earth"; it is called Endless Vearth in the FUNimation dub and Endless Varse in the Viz Manga) is a legendary land that Enel mentions throughout the Skypiea Arc. Enel wanted to travel to Fairy Vearth after he destroyed Skypiea. For this purpose he built his ship, Maxim.
Princess Shirahoshi and Princess Vivi have made comments that the Sea and the Sky are *endless* or *limitless* in the past.
This theme falls in line with the concepts of Ancient Greek Gods. For example, Sea Gods who ruled over the Sea were said to have an endless and incorporeal body. That is, the Sea God was as small as a drop of water or as large as the ocean itself. Since the body of a God has no fixed limit, then they are considered to be Endless.
That is why Gaia is called Endless Gaia. In the case of Fairy Vearth, it refers specifically to a moon that orbits the Earth which has an abundance of land as opposed to water or sky (which represent different gods).

This is another odd piece of information... but it should probably be added... *coming of age ceremonies* are important for the type of Conqueror's Haki to bloom inside of these people. There is a strange logic about why.
(1) Conqueror's Haki blooms in the heat of battle.
(2) Conqueror's Haki develops if a person has the qualities of a king
(3) You can interpret *the heat of battle* as being the time in which a King becomes ready to act as a King. In other words, after the *coming of age ceremonies* when they begin to act on behalf of their entire countries as the rightful heir to the previous ruler.
In other words... (Shogun?) Momonosuke, (Queen?) Shirahoshi, and (Queen?) Vivi will soon be acting on behalf of their entire countries, and for that reason they may develop Conqueror's Haki and then apply it to unique types of Haki applications.
I am fairly certain something weird happened at The Reverie and it concerns some of this stuff.
I have even said it's possible that Princess Vivi was actually saved by a giant monster bird.
- Igaram warned Princess Vivi that if she climbed into the lookout on their ship, then a giant bird might swoop down and kidnap her.
- If Princess Vivi pulls the same crap that Princess Shirahoshi did, then may it be possible that she calls Sky Kings to save her in the same way that Princess Shirahoshi called the Sea Kings? Unlikely. But, wouldn't that be cool?
I didn't know how Momonosuke was going to *come of age* because he was a child... but he got forced to become an adult recently. So... that kind of changes things a little. He can, in fact, act on behalf of his nation just like the other two at this point. Nothing's stopping him from doing it, and that's likely the key to those three people activating a stronger form of Haki than we've ever seen so far.
But, that's all just.... possibilities.

Also... there is a theme of friendship.
Joyboy likely made Poseidon, Pluton, and Uranus his own so-called companions/friends. The things people like Saul say about when people are alone they will eventually find their friends again because they're definitely out there somewhere -- that's supposed to be interpreted like.... if you DIE... and you and ALL YOUR FRIENDS WHO DIED... get lost... and can't find each other again... because you got reincarnated and literally can't even remember who each other was... you will STILL find your friends because they're definitely reborn as a new person somewhere - you just have to go find them.
I know that sounds weird. But, that really is the message Saul was trying to interpret for the reader. It wasn't about having no friends and finding new ones... it was about dying, and then being reborn, and then finding the friends you had in your previous life again as new people.
That's exactly why Roger was able to find Rayleigh. Don't you guys remember how Roger basically told Rayleigh that he already knew he was going to meet him before they ever met? That's because he knew who he was in his previous life and who his friends were. That's why he told Rayleigh that they were fated to meet each other. He also said him and Rayleigh were fated to turn the world on its head.
*Note* to be clear.. this section deals with the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is one of the Universal Laws of the Universe according to esoteric belief. According to the Law of Attraction, people who were friends in a previous life are likely to seek each other out again in the next life. It's about compatible karmic energy and fates on the same paths.

Look...
Someone stole the betrayal idea. I've said for years that someone betrayed Joyboy. My conclusion is that there was a different set of ruling bodies in the world before the void century and the creation of the world government and it involved human kingdoms and non-human kingdoms. Ultimately, the non-human kingdoms had gods and Joyboy befriended each of them and in doing so united the three biggest sovereign leaders and became a world king thereby granting him the voice of all things.
Anyway.. check out this other guy talking about Joyboy being betrayed.
His theory basically just says someone betrayed Joyboy and he's not ready to reveal who yet.
Hmm... I don't think he has any idea who did it. My clues tell me it was the Alabasta Kingdom's ancient king. If that's true, then it would relate to things like.. Kobra telling Pell never to let Vivi ride on his back (because that could trigger her natural born love for the sky, which would also cause her to manifest her ancestor's power).
Notice these things.. Vivi has been repeatedly told to get down from trees, to get down from lookouts, and to not fly Pell. She befriended birds, but they were flightless birds. Her kingdom may be cursed. A cursed sky god reborn may be reborn surrounded by flightless birds.
When she finally flew on Pell, he revealed to her the nature of Conqueror's Haki - she was falling asleep on him - but they talked about why Pell has to fight.
I will show you the entire conversation..
*The scene begins with Pell remembering Vivi's childhood - Vivi was playing in the storage area where dangerous equipment is located (hazard potential). Everyone is worried about Vivi's safety, and is happy to see that she's okay. However, Pell slaps her across the face. The others get upset at Pell because he dared to strike the Princess. Pell ignores them, and scolds Vivi, saying "How many times do I have to tell you not to come near this place!? Even Igaram is upset with Pell and threatens to have him fired, but Kobra stops him and says it's okay."
Then, Pell takes Vivi for a ride on his back.
Vivi: More! Higher... ! I said higher!
Pell: Vivi-sama! Please never tell the king about this, okay?
Vivi: *excitedly laughing*
Pell: Because he sternly told me not to fly with you riding on me!
Vivi: *Vivi hits Pell* if you don't want to, that's fine. I won't forgive you about today for the rest of my life.
Vivi: You're the one who said you'd do whatever I tell you to.
Vivi: Say, Pell
Vivi: Why do you train for battle every day?
Pell: Because I'm a guard. I do it in order to protect this country.
Pell: I have to be strong.
Vivi: Who will you be fighting?
Pell: I don't know.
Pell: Rather than fight, I'll protect...
Vivi: They're different?
Pell: They have different purposes.
Vivi: Hmm... That's strange...
From what I can tell, the author rarely uses characters to speak about this subject and when he does it nearly always relates to a person who is making choices concerning The King's Dilemma, which allows that person to develop King's Haki. Also, from my understanding, the amount of Conqueror's Haki a person is able to use is proportional to the magnitude related to the population they rule over - because that relates to the influence they possess in the world. For example, a Pirate Captain with 10 crewmembers only has the responsibility of commanding 10 people. However, a Pirate Captain with 100 crewmembers has the responsibility of commanding 100 people. Likewise, a King of a country may have the responsibility of ruling over 10,000 people. The amount of responsibility and the influence a King possess may relate to their overall potential for Conqueror's Haki.
However, the people I'm talking about... Sky Gods, Land Gods, and Sea Gods... their overall potential for Conqueror's Haki is unknown because we've never seen somebody whose territory encompasses an entire environment before (not to mention their population includes ALL LIFE FORMS in those environments, except humans who aren't associated to them). In comparison to a King of a country who rules over 10,000 people, the God of a sea may rule over millions of individuals.
However, the hierarchy works strangely. For example, I don't think Poseidon can command creatures that don't have enough intelligence to receive commands. In esoteric belief, only CERTAIN ANIMALS possess the ability to think like humans do. With that said, Poseidon may regularly command the Sea Kings, but the Sea Kings rule over the normal sea creatures, many of which are unable to receive commands due to their limited evolution as a species. I find it questionable for people to try to command Sea Cucumbers.
Picture this... the Sea God tries to communicate with the Sea Cucumbers...
Sea God: Well, how are you doing today Mr. Cucumber... ?
Mrs. Cucumber: ...
Sea God: Oh, you're a female!
Mrs. Cucumber: ...
Sea God: Hm. I'm sorry about that.
Mrs. Cucumber: ...
Sea God: Are you ignoring me?
Mrs. Cucumber: ...
Sea God: What a *****.
