The Primordial Saga
The Ancient Scrolls
Marijeous, the land of gods. A giant shadowy figure enthroned stood in front of a large vault, open. Inside was a single table with tomes. Dust made known there were once two tomes, now stood only one - stolen. The figure crushed a piece of paper writ in blood found in the vault. A message. The Gorosei took a meeting personally with Chief Commander-in-Chief Kong. An old scroll, was offered to Kong. The burly man opened it and widened his eyes in shock.

The Contemporaries
A team of select and powerful were chosen. Named The Contemporaries. Their mission was secret. Not even Sengoku was apprised. Not even the ones involved knew. All they had been told was a cataclysm under the earth’s surface was threatening the world. Their mission was a simple one: retrieve the treasure that once rivaled One Piece, and kill those who stole it. Little did they know, they would be searching the shadows of the seas.

Race: Human

Although they hadn’t seen each other in years, the relationship with “shrimp” had never wavered. Lia, however, was special. More special than even Leo foresaw. Once in a century, one is born with the Avatism of the Primordials, a heavy recessive gene that, if manipulated, can turn her and others into their Primordial selves.

For this reason, Zephyr and ’G’, at the behest of the Primordials, abducted Lia. Imprisoned in Pangea and tinkered by the evil Dr. Ichigaki, they were able to harness this Avatism. Zephyr was the first of what would be many de-evolutions. Lia was to be used to turn the most powerful in the surface to Primordials in their takeover of the surface.

Dr. Ichigaki implanted the Beruki on Lia with sulfur, able to control her very actions. The power of the spirit on Cruise Control. Take away free will and the monster will say hello…

Locations & Areas
(so far)

——————————————————————————-
First Act: The Pangean Depths
Enki “The Ancient”
An Ancient turtle of giant size. Enki has scoured all known depths, bearing the scars to show for it. In Instructor’s Chimera’s youth, Enki saved the young boy from drowning as he sought Fishman’s Island, beginning a lifelong friendship. The WG placed a submarine on Enki’s back to take The Contemporaries to the Pangean depths. A bubble crafted by Vegapunk himself surrounds Enki, to withstand the pressure of depths more than 20,000 meters low.
Pangean Depths: Ruins
The ocean stretch between the 10,000 meters and the 20,000 meter depth in the Pangean Sea. Animals still inhabit the depths, yet their size rivals the depths. Ruins of ancient civilizations lost to time cover the waters, protected by the Holy Ones. Light still breaks through the waters, like a foregone light illuminating a sliver in a room of darkness.
Pangean Depths: Abyss
20,000 meters below the surface. Complete darkness. No light can penetrate. The pressure is so intense, it solidifies the water. The abyss is home of legendary and undiscovered creatures protecting the Old World. Shadows surfacing once every decade. The entrance to Pangea is said to await in the depths of fire.

——————————————————————————-
Second Act: Pangean Continent
Pangean Plains
The main surface of Pangea is made of rocky volcanic rock etched into the world’s core. The air pockets created by these eruptions birth plains of fire for miles. On top of the plains are orbital-shaped cities etched into the volcano’s mouth, regulating light through mini guard explosions within. Here was the site of the Great Pangean War.

——————————————————————————-

Third Act: Sunlight Cave
Sunlight Cave
Deep in the Northern Pangea plains, in the base of a mountain, exists a ravine that leads to a cave. The cave is exposed at the top, protected from the harsh elements. Here, a biosphere has found life, creating a single tree where the light comes in. It is here where the Contemporaries rested after the Great Pangean z war, and found the truth.

The final resting place of the Great “Black Arm” Zephyr is at the base of the blooming tree, a metaphor.

The Contemporaries Assemble! #1

“Mission” said:
Feign the howling of primordial wolves and let the fear-addled sheep slaughter. A haven, yea, yet it must fall err we be saved. Retake the black, lest it spread. Greet the end there, in the land where it all began.

Marineford
The sea was unnaturally calm. The sky was clear. The air was gentle. The brisk waves gently brushed against Marineford. A stark contrast from the turmoil inside of those overseeing the World Government. The treasure that rivals One Piece was gone, taken from the vault (see background above).

Only the elite and trustworthy were chosen. Chosen for their exploits and their loyalty to the government. A group hand-picked by the Gorosei themselves. A group fabled in the coming years. A group that would give birth to a new Justice, to a new generation. A group fittingly named the Contemporaries.

The mission was secret, delivered in a parchment by CP0. Not even Sengoku and the other admirals knew what the parchment contained. The coordinates led them to an obscure portion of Marineford, where Enki “The Ancient” waited.

A man in a admiral coat and spots for a hat stood alone in the dock, eyes on the grand marvel of Enki.

[Vice-Admiral Dalmatian] “The legendary Enki! I wonder what that forebodes. This mission feels different - we’ve given no information, on a vow of secrecy. With Enki here, that must mean…”
[Vice-Admiral Onigumo] “He is here. Better shut up, Dal. That man has as much Marine blood as he does pirates. No need to know why - we have our orders.”
A stern voice cut off the vice-admiral. Sporting a like coat, strong upper body, large black hair, and a weighty demeanor, Vice Admiral Onigumo passed by. He smoked a cigar, it’s smoke trailing him as he continued to Enki.

The mission specs were scarce, yet the message was there, waiting to be deciphered. The Contemporaries gathered. Who were they? What was their mission? The fate of the world hangs in a shroud of secrecy.

A few - but unknown how many - days ago, Vice Admiral Leo was in his home on Justicia. An archipelago most massive, home to both a myriad of Sky Islands as well as myriad of Blue Sea Islands, all connected to one another by heavenly chains and sea train tracks. An important strategic location for the World Government, Justicia was given an appropriate name, and was under the watchful eyes of Vice Admiral Leo. When home, Leo's days were rather predictable. At sunrise, as well as at sunset, Leo worked out in his backyard, performing repetitions of 100 of various exercises for his body. Throughout the day, he sat around, watching his cats run around. Occasionally, his cats would come up to him with a dead mouse in their mouths, before eating it up, bone and all. Cats were amazing creatures of unparalleled instinct, Leo thought - and the five that he owned were the best of the best. Leo himself ate three meals a day, preparing them himself.

On one of these calm days, a shadow appeared in his backyard. Leo noticed the figure, but he did not let them know that he was aware of their presence. Instead, he feigned ignorance and waited for them to leave. Once they were gone, Leo found a letter left behind. He opened the letter and read through the contents. There was no look of shock on his face - but there was a grimace of concern.

Several days later, Enki ''the Ancient'' was seen in Marineford. There, two Vice Admirals gathered at first. Vice Admiral Dalmatian and Vice Admiral Onigumo. Both were summoned there for a secret mission. Vice Admiral Leo arrived as the third member of the party. He was dressed in his usual Marine garments, and his right eye was covered by his signature patch. In his mouth was a cigarette, and on his left hip was a sheathed katana. He walked up to the two fellow Vice Admirals and spoke.

I'm assuming we're all here for the same thing.

Leo said. He was older than the other two Vice Admirals, both in age as well as seniority. Leo was also already considered a Hero of the Marines, and had as much authority as the Admirals, so his standing among the three was clear.

Would anyone else show up, or were the three Vice Admirals to complete this mission on their own? Regardless, something big was happening. Enki was there, after all.

Marineford
Three powerful Marines stood in the makeshift dock, with Enki resting among the shallow beach. The scars on the turtle and the color of its shell showed its age, battle experience, and wisdom. Enki was often correlated with the biggest and most dangerous missions, There, in the backdrop, Vice-Admiral Leo appeared.

The Fire Demon walked with an air of confidence, or arrogance, depending who you asked. One such was clear.
[Vice-Admiral Onigumo] “You’re here?!”
The cigar-smoking Vice-Admiral turned slightly to Leo. He spoke with disdain. It was no secret that Onigumo hated Leo. Hate born out of jealousy for taking the position of “Hero” that Onigumo lusted for. Dalmatian bowed his head slightly at Leo, shaking his head at the two. The mission had not begun, yet discourse in the ranks was already underway.

[Voice] “BAKA! BE SERIOUS FOR ONCE!!!
[Vice-Admiral Dalmatian] “Sounds like our cue.”

Suddenly, a woman’s voice swept through the makeshift dock. The voice came from Enki’s shell. The Vice-Admirals would not get a better invitation. Suddenly, one of the squares in Enki’s shell opened like a door. A pressurized hallway led to the inside. Once they passed the threshold, the shell would close, de-pressurizing it, sealing it shut.

The three would be greeted by a large observatory. One could see outside into the sky; some squares of the shell were a one-way mirror. In the middle of the room was a large table with a blue screen to project pictures. Seats adorned the area, regal for the high-end Enki. There were various doors in the observatory. There was murmur behind one of them, with the same woman’s voice. The door was shut, however, deliberately. The Vice-admirals would have to wait.

Dalmatian picked up a piece of paper from the table and smelled it; it was the mission specs they all received, the same scent of the messenger.

[Vice-Admiral Dalmatian] “I have my theories, but can’t pinpoint it. What does ‘the black‘ mean? Who are the ‘primordial wolves’?”

Onigumo grunted again. He was known to be an Absolute Justice with a taste for acceptable losses. The spider man was always chosen for his unquestionable loyalty; never questioning orders. Today was no different. What about Leo?

Enki suddenly submerged; no one else was coming in.

Vice Admiral Leo's arrival was met by a respectful bow from Vice Admiral Dalmatian, to which Leo nodded in return, acknowledging the man's presence. The other Vice Admiral, Onigumo, was clearly not enthusiastic about Leo's arrival. Leo looked at the man and quickly shut him down.

Navy Officers are meant to reassure citizens and make them feel at ease. Don't you know people hate spiders?

Leo said, pointing to the fact that a half man half spider was not fit to be a great Marine. Leo clearly didn't have much good to say to or about Onigumo, but before the beef could spiral out of control, a female voice from within Enki called out to them, telling them to get onboard. Leo walked, entering Enki. Once inside, the group of Vice Admirals ended up in the control room, where they could see outside. Leo sat down on one of the chairs while Vice Admiral Dalmatian asked a question pertaining to the letter.

Anything we surmise right now would be but a wild guess. We'll get more information once we get to the location.

Leo said, his answer hinting to the fact that he was not one to get ahead of himself, or the mission. Enki submerged, and the Navy was on its way. Leo did have one observation, however.

I'm surprised such a mission only warranted the three of us. I wouldn't have been surprised if an Admiral or a couple more Vice Admirals came as well.

OCC Note: 🦋 A butterfly effect was triggered! 🦋
Pangean Sea
Vice-Admiral Onigumo cursed underneath his breath, giving his back to Leo in an angry response. It would not be far fetched to say Onigumo was already plotting against Leo, or so said Dalmatian jokingly. The three entered Enki and were greeted with an observation room. Onigumo remained standing, looking into the sea as Enki plunged in - his back still to Leo

Vice-Admiral Dalmatian whimpered lowly like a pup as Leo dismissed his question, not even giving him conversation. If Leo would have inquired, Dalmatian had other information. Dalmatian had said he had a “theory”. Butterfly Effect. Alas, time was cut short. Dalmatian felt dismissed, increasing the gulf between the two Vice-admirals.

A few minutes after Leo questioned if there were more, the large door where the murmurs were opened.
[Admiral Kizaru] “Ohhhhh! So scaryyy, Tsuru-Chan! My head almost fell off!”
Stepping into frame was an incredibly tall, relatively slim man wearing golden glasses. The man was middle age with a moderate amount of wrinkles on his face, short curly black hair, and a very thin beard. A comically large lump on his head pulsated, recent and fresh. A man who need no introduction. A man senior than all in the room. One of the World Government’s Greatest Powers; “Yellow Monkey” Admiral Kizaru.

Trailing behind with an annoyed look on her face was a tall, thin, and elderly woman with gray hair tied in a bun. Her attire was less formal than the other high-ranking officers', consisting of an untucked shirt, with the sleeves rolled up and a tie around her neck, and calves-long pants. A legend in the Marines. One who held seniority by age and experience. A woman who held the respect of all the Marines as one of the three of the Golden Age. The “Great Advisor” Vice-Admiral Tsuru.

Dalmatian and Onigumo immediately turned and saluted, with Onigumo doing it half-way. With these two legends part of the mission, it was clear; this was the big one. The door shut quickly, leaving a shadow behind the door frame pacing back and forth.

[Dalmatian] “Greetings! Sir! Ma’am! It’s good to have you onboard!”

Admiral Kizaru was as always carefree. He sat in the large chair near the observatory and comically rubbed his lump at the speed of light, literally. Tsuru stood, looking into the sea. The normally composed Tsuru was in deep thought. She appeared shaken. Shaken at the de-briefing specifically for her and Kizaru.

Decision: Converse with Dalmation or not
  • Leo chose not to converse with Dalmatian
Butterfly Effect:
  • + Relationship with Onigumo
    • Onigumo respected Leo for following orders w/o question. Fealty increased.
  • - Relationship with Dalmatian
    • Dalmatian felt dismissed and looked down to by Leo. Loyalty towards Leo was incredibly diminished.
  • - Intel Lost
    • Leo failed to obtain intel on the type of smell the letter they received had. Dalmatian had identified it.
    • Will make it harder to pinpoint the thief’s identity.

Enki descended and the conversation between the three Vice Admirals did not go very far. The relationship between Onigumo and Leo was bad as it was - but for Vice Admiral Dalmatian, there was no reason to feel any negative emotions. Leo was simply not the type of man to speculate about things, and he preferred to get to the actual core of the mission and see the real situation at hand. Though Leo did prefer cats to dogs, and he owned a couple himself - that much was true.

Before any further conversation could be held, the door that separated the observatory from the room next to it, started to open. Leo's eyes suddenly glowed a faint red, and he peered a few moments into the future. He knew Vice Admiral Tsuru and Admiral Kizaru were about to walk out. And just like Leo saw it, they did.

When Admiral Kizaru walked into the observatory, Vice Admirals Onigumo and Dalmatian immediately saluted, showing a good amount of respect for the man. Leo, who was still seated in his chair, looked at Admiral Kizaru and spoke.

Long time no see, Kizaru. The fact that a man like you is here speaks of what we are about to embark on.

Tsuru-san, I hope you've been well.

Leo said. He was respectful toward the two, as one should be, though no inferiority was felt from Vice Admiral Leo. He was, after all, a Hero of the Marines, with similar authority to the Admirals, and even the authority to order a Buster Call - something normally reserved for the Admirals and those above them. Either way, with all of that out of the way, Leo had a question of his own.

So... Tsuru-san... I'm sure you know something more about this mission. Where are we going, and why are we being sent there? Also, who is the man in the other room?

Leo inquired. Perhaps due to his skills of observation, or maybe it was because Leo saw the man twice - once when he peered into the future and once when the door actually opened - but Leo did not miss the sight of the man pacing in the other room. Who was he?

The Contemporaries had gathered. Tsuru and Kizaru strolled into the room. They were met by greetings.

Tsuru did not return the greetings, lost in her thoughts. Kizaru grunted at Leo’s comment of a “man like you”, before nodding and sitting. Kizaru rubbed his lump, until he pressed down on it. It comically sprang up on another part of his head. The Golden Monkey pressed on it again, but it popped up again. The Admiral did this repeatedly at ligh-speed, before stopping. The lump was gone. Suddenly, it popped up again, and Kizaru audibly groaned comically. A joker no matter the circumstance.

Leo was bold. He asked the question Dalmatian and even Onigumo wanted to ask. Tsuru turned, staring at Leo with a serious gaze.
[Vice-Admiral Tsuru] “Pangea. The Shadows of the sea live in the olden world. You may know them by their new name, the Pr-”
[Admiral Kizaru] “Tsuru-Chan….!”

Kizaru interjected, his face turned suddenly from a look of comical relief to a stern gaze. Clearly, she was speaking out of turn, out of order. Tsuru was the advisor, but not the commanding officer in this mission. Kizaru’s eyes locked with Tsuru, who had no problem and stature in voicing her opinions to those who were still pups in comparison, some three decades her junior, even an Admiral.

[Vice-Admiral Tsuru] “Shut up, Borsalino-boy! Do you have any idea what this means?!”

Onigumo and Dalmatian widened their eyes. They had rarely seen Tsuru in such a mood. Normally composed, she was determined. What was she so concerned about? Admiral Kizaru, however, simply sighed. He went back to trying to quell the lump on his head. The mission had scarcely started and yet the Contemporaries were already ripping apart at the seams. Admiral Kizaru was wise to not push, a show of true tact, power, and sensibility that only a leader would show.

Regardless, Tsuru had calmed down. She shook her head and nodded at Kizaru. The Great Advisor sighed, before telling Leo he would meet the commanding officer soon. Dalmatian and Onigumo looked at each other, there was another? They did not notice the man in the other room like Leo, further evidence of the gulf between them.

Sure enough, the door creaked open. The light in the room over the figure shrouded his face, only showing his imposing figure and the thick cigar, almost half his mouth, that billowed black smoke.

[Instructor Chimera] “Chara-chara-chara. What a lot o‘ bickering children. Haggar-Sensei would be beside himself. Charahahahaha…”
The light slowly draped over the figure. A statured frame of at least 9” feet with bulk and muscles shaped like a bison. Left eye white with scars all over his body showing his long experienced body, What could only described as a white mane, from his white beard to his shoulder with white hair draped over his broad shoulder.

White shorts with golden specs mimicked his shirt, below an Admiral-style coat. This one was not white, but dark blue. The Pirate King’s coat was red, and only those who matched him wore the opposite, dark navy. A sign of legend only Garp, Kong, and Chimera were given.

An infamous figure in the marine, thought long-dead, decades since any rumors of the man circulated. (see history/background in first post) Ex-Admiral and the one who birthed Absolute Justice, with as much Marine blood as pirate blood on his hands: “The Dragonheart”, Chimera.

A man who would put into context the gravity the mission they were to embark. Chimera one of the strongest Marines in their history, idle in even the most perilous of circumstance, yet he had come out of obscurity for this one mission.

Vice Admiral Leo questioned the details, as well as intent of the mission at hand. Vice Admiral Tsuru, well aware that Leo needed to know the details, was willing to answer, however Admiral Kizaru interfered. Leo frowned, but before the conversation could go any further, the door that Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Tsuru had come through, opened once again.

This time, an even more legendary figure walked out. A man of the past. A man that had birthed Absolute Justice, which Leo has adhered to his entire life. The instructor. A man by the name of Chimera ''the Dragonheart''. When the man walked out, it became evident what kind of a mission this would be. The appearance of Chimera gave Leo the answer that he had been looking to get, and Leo relaxed back into his chair.

Is that how it is... alright then, let's get going. Time for justice.

Leo said. Indeed, that was all there was. Justice. Absolute Justice. It was simple, straight to the point. Little did Leo know, this mission would become much more complicated than that, for him personally. Now, everyone had gathered, and it was time for the next chapter. What awaited the Navy Admirals in the depths of the ocean?

The legend responsible for Absolute Justice took command of the room, standing arms crossed overlooking the table and the group, his aura overpowering. Spirit of the Kings flew off his body, yet at a rate unlike many would see before. It was not a burst, but a slow release of spirit, like a gas slowly seeping in the room, showing his mastery of Kings was on another level.

Met with differing reactions. Vice-Admiral Onigumo took a knee, bowing completely. The vice-admiral had barely saluted Borsalino - but to Onigumo, who followed Absolute Justice, Chimera was nothing short of an idol. Dalmatian took a step back, whimpering lowly. Indeed, dozens of Vice-Admirals like he who pruned their nose at Absolute Justice, their blood stained Chimera’s hands.

A man of few words, Chimera went straight to the point - a man like he wasted no time, straight to the mission, straight to Justice.

[Instructor Chimera] “These truths come from the deepest records of humankind. Sword to secrecy is part of the mission. For these truths are self-evident, able to shift top the ocean.”
Chimera stood over the table which held a spherical screen. From the screen, holograms rose up, painting an image in mid-air. It showed the map of depths, from the surface to the sea floor; 20,000 meters. Much to the onlooker’s surprise, the sea floor kept going, showing a dark area running 20,000 meters lower, depths unnatural; the Abyss.
[Instructor Chimera] “A black box was stolen from the Marijeous vault, containing a treasure threatening the world’s collapse. They retreated to the Abyss. Your mission is simple: Search, Destroy, and Retrieve.”
More images flew on the screen. There were shadows on the ocean surface, followed by the depths. At the end of the Abyss, or so was it dubbed, was bright lights emanating from a volcano-sized mouth at the bottom of abyss. A golden light suddenly covered by a shadow.

[Instructor Chimera] “Many of you will lay down your lives in the name of Justice. I expect most of you not to return. One thing I want clear:”
A more dark aura seeped out of the legend, cracking the table in front of him. It was not a threat. Chimera’s reputation preceded him: it was a warning. Chimera‘s voice boomed.

[Instructor Chimera] “Desertion is punishable by execution.”
There was a moment of silence and tension. If anyone wanted to interject, this would be the time. Outside, Sea Kings began circling Enki as he passed the 10,000 meter mark. The legendary turtle swam to evade them, but the school of Sea Kings, at least six, followed.

Navy Legend Chimera took over the command of the mission, somewhat to Leo's surprise. He began to explain the mission, what it entailed, what its purpose was, and what the dangers were. It was indeed a mission worthy of some of the Navy's strongest. Chimera, upon explaining some of the details of the mission, finished things off by making one thing clear. Desertion was punishable by death. That much was clear. Leo, unsurprised by those words, doubled down on them, sitting cross-armed in his chair.

Hmph... if anyone wanted to desert, I would put them down here and now anyway.

So, what does the Abyss look like? And how will us Devil Fruit users fight in the depths of the ocean?

Leo made a fair point. His eyes glowed for a moment. Vice Admirals Onigumo and Dalamatian would likely not notice, but Chimera, Borsalino and Tsuru definitely would. This was a sign of Leo looking into the future for but a few moments.

Multiple Sea Kings are tailing Enki.

Leo said, bringing attention to the looming threat. After all, Enki was their lifeline. Without him, they would all end up at the bottom of the ocean, and not in the way they wanted.

Inside Enki
The legend once on par with Garp and Roger himself was introduced as the commanding officer, valuing the mission as grandiose. The Contemporaries had assembled inside Enki, de-briefing. Leo was one of the first to speak, asking about their would-be surroundings. Chimera answered, for it was not a question about the secrets of the mission, but rather information how to accomplish them.

The man looked straight into Leo’s eyes, piercing with a booming voice.

[Instructor Chimera] “The Abyss has pressure that would kill a normal human in moments. It’s entirely possible your powers won’t work and will be limited.”
[Instructor Chimera] “That may change after we get closer to the planet’s core. Purely conjecture, surely. At the bottom of the Abyss, where the target lives, no one has seen. At least… no one who has lived to tell us.”
Dalmatian and Onigumo audibly gasped. Dalmatian breathed heavily, like a dog riddled with nerves. Onigumo was more composed, yet the single nervous sweat ran down the side of his face. Tsuru sighed. Admiral Kizaru, predictably, sarcastically complained how scary Chimera made it sound.

Leo alerted the group to the Sea Kings. Chimera wasted no time. He instructed Dalmatian and Onigumo to deal with them and protect Enki. The two found specialized bubble suits, specially made by Vegapunk to withstand pressure of depths, and went outside. Through the glass observatory, the Chimera, Kizaru, and Tsuru would see the two Vice-admirals fighting the hoarde.

Suddenly, an alarm blared.
[Instructor Chimera] ”Well aren’t they ballsy? Them cheeky bastards! Charahahahaha!!”
[Tsuru] “Oy! That’s the sensor alarm! That must mean… an intruder!”

The alarm blared constant. The sensory hologram showed a blip on the map of the inside of Enki. The breach was in the very next room (but much wider). The center of Enki was the hollow part of the shell, stretching for various levels, at least two football fields in diameter. Pillars and holes gave way to passages along the structure, leading to various parts of Enki. If the group chose to investigate, they’d enter through the first floor.

Chimera laughed as he returned to his room. Kizaru appeared behind Leo, grabbing his coat in apparent fear - asking the vice-admiral to protect him. Tsuru comically hit Kizaru on the temple again, resulting in more sarcastic whines. If Leo investigated, upon entering the shell room, he’d see, on the fourth level across from where they entered, the silhouette of a humanoid figure, or so it seemed to be.

As Enki descended deeper and deeper, Leo questioned what the Abyss was like, as well as how everyone present was meant to fight and survive it - after all, just about everyone present was a Devil Fruit user. Chimera shared some information on the Abyss, but ultimately, the deepest and most important reaches of the Abyss were a mystery even to him. Before any further discussion could be had on the matter, Leo's eyes glowed a feint red and he looked into the future momentarily. He saw Sea Kings surround Enki, and warned the group of it. Chimera took action quickly, sending both Vice Admiral Onigumo and Vice Admiral Dalmatian out to fight them off. They would leave Enki and fight the Sea Kings underwater, using specialized bubble suits to keep them from succumbing to the influence of the depths.

However, soon thereafter, as the two Vice Admirals were busy fighting off the Sea Kings, the alarms inside Enki blared. Chimera laughed, speaking of a certain ''them'' and calling them cheeky bastards. The sensory map showed the whereabouts of the intruder, and Kizaru comically asked Leo to go see what was happening. Leo, never breaking his rather serious character, removed Kizaru's hands from his shoulder and walked off toward the door.

As he approached the door, Leo's eyes glowed a feint red once again.

A shadowy humanoid creature is on the other side. You seem to know who they are, Chimera.

Leo said. The door opened in front of him and Leo stepped over to the other side. An intense fire erupted from both of his fist and surrounded his fists. The presence of the fire created additional light to illuminate the area, and Leo spoke toward the creature across the room.

Damn you look ugly...

Inside Enki
Vice-Admiral Leo led the charge, living to his epithet of ‘Marine Hero’. Kizaru followed, and Tsuru came last, relaxed as ever. Leo used his mantra to identify the intruder, using his fire to illuminate the area. Now hiding behind a pillar, the face of the intruder was shown, with Leo’s comment dead-on, a shock in it of itself.

A black hairless tall figure with a long head, sharp claws, sharp teeth, black eyes, and armored skin stared back at them. The figure’s eyes flickered with green lights, as if scanning. In his hand, a black sphere was present. What was this being? A new race? A robot? A mutant? It was nothing like they’d seen before.

Suddenly, an explosion boomed. The three would look up. Diagonally to the figure’s position was recent explosion, smoke billowing. Enki wailed, blood splattering like a sprinkler. Damage from the inside was perilous. If the shell cracked from the inside… it was all over. More spheres were all over the humongous room among the pillars.

[Tsuru] “Borsalino-boy!”
[Kizaru] “Yeah, yeah, I know…”
Kizaru sighed. His eyes scanned the room by refracting light, a feat only a light man could perform. Suddenly, his body turned yellow, turning into balls of light that danced in the air. The light suddenly disappeared, moving at, well, light-speed. Kizaru went for the spheres, containing them to protect Enki. Tsuru stood in the doorway, crossing her arms, merely observing.

Meanwhile, the figure closed his hand. The sphere he had disappeared. From the shadows that his fire created, a sphere appeared right on Leo’s body, his abdomen. It exploded in a great billow of smoke, sending out what seems to be shrapnel. Shrapnel of crystallized water, similar to Seastone, sought to pierce Leo’s abdomen point-blank.

Between the explosions, one could hear a raspy voice with rapid clicking in between words.

Vice Admiral Leo, Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Tsuru walked through the door. The raging fire that clad Leo's fists illuminated the area somewhat, and the shadowy, skeletal, monstrous figure hiding in the room was exposed. An explosion went off diagonally above the strange creature, and Enki wailed, clearly damaged by the explosion. Tsuru, immediately realizing the threat, asked Kizaru to deal with the explosives. But the creature's instincts told it to use this opportunity to attack. After all, Kizaru, one of the strongest men in the world, would be busy, and Leo would be on his own. A perfect time to strike. Or so the creature thought. Little did it know, Leo was not a man that was ever caught offguard. His eyes glowed a red color once again - in the shadows of this room, the glow of his eyes was even more pronounced. He saw a few moments into the future, an extremely rare ability that even the Admirals did not possess, and in that future, Leo saw his gruesome fate sealed. A strange device appeared out of the shadows cast by his own fire, right on Leo's stomach. That device would erupt, sending condensed sea shrapnel to rip through Leo's otherwise intangible body.

However, with that knowledge, Leo was able to act.

Tsuru-san, guard yourself.

Leo said before the attack even came, perhaps to Tsuru's surprise. In that moment, using Kamisori, Leo disappeared from the spot, and the strange device appeared, erupting. Whether Tsuru was in range or not remained to be seen, but Leo was out of there before the attack even came. He appeared in front of the creature, and with Leo's arrival, came a powerful burst of Conqueror's Haki as Leo's eyes met the creature's. Still utilizing his Future Sight, Leo would attack witht he knowledge of how the creature would react, allowing him to massively increase his chances of landing the attack. Leo's right hand came forward like a lion's claw. The claw raged with fire, and Leo aimed to rip it into the creature's abdomen, and straight through it. The physical damage itself threatened to be great, but the burns themselves would be severe as well.

Fire Claw...!

Vice-Admiral Leo saw what no one else did. He warned Tsuru, who widened her eyes in surprise, but complied. In front of her, a barrier of wash was erected, and like clockwork, the attack dissipated in it. Tsuru stayed protecting the entrance. Kizaru found himself tracking now hundreds of spheres. Even at his speed, he was taking time. Vice-Admiral went for the gut punch.

Leo pursued the Trackers, finding his trek to be much, two football fields, as noted earlier. The tracker was surprised, but the distance allowed him to react. The tracker took a stance with both hands in a kamehameha move. It was a stance Leo would be familiar with.

[Tracker] “Sun Fist: Light Mirror Kata!!!”
The two palmed fists would clash against the Fire Claw, stopping it it’s tracks. The explosive and concussive power went into the hands of the Tracker, seemingly going from one hand to the other, as if in a loop, coming out the other side, releasing the concussive force right on Leo’s hand, intent on blowing it away.

A technique similar to Tekkai counter, but much more elaborate. The Sun Fist style. Where had Leo seen that before….?

Whether by attack, counter, or by shock on the style used, the tracker was pushed back, crashing against the wall. Appendages came from his back and moved him through the wall, now skittering away, spheres forming around him. Though survived the blow, burns were on the Tracker’s hands, though not severe, given his unusual body and elemental resistance.

For the first wave to be this, what was awaiting them? Leo may realize, this was the real deal. Without an additional power, could they even survive the mission into the Old World?

Posting Leo's stats here. Also, his strength without using the Phoenix is now significantly lower than in the previous post, but either way it was ''not very effective'', so it's fine. I did edit the DPR in the previous post.

Statistics:

95 x 5 = 475

Strength: 33 (Race: +63, Phoenix: +25) = 121

Speed: 43 (Race: +18, Mera: +10, MA: +5, Phoenix: +25) = 101 [Movement Speed: 101 | Reaction Speed: 101]

Vitality: 55 (Race: +36, Mera: +5, Phoenix: +25) = 121 [Stamina: 121 | Durability: 121]

Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix: 100 (Awakening: +20) = 120

Mera Mera no Mi: 100
[Severe burn status effect item]

Martial Arts: 50 [Rokushiki: 100]

Haki: 94 [Busou-shoku no Haki: 88 | Kenbun-shoku no Haki (precognition): 100 (Item/Future Sight: +20) = 120]

As Admiral Kizaru was taking care of the spheres, Leo went straight after the strange creature. With his fiery clawed hand leading the way, Leo sought to rip through the creature. However, right before Leo's attack would connect, the creature spoke, announcing its attack. Leo's eyes widened in shock, to the point where his attack would have faltered, if Leo wasn't so used to fighting. Regardless, his attack connected with the fists of the creature, and the energy went through the creature's hands, before turning on Leo. Leo, having recognized the creature's technique, utilized Tekkai on his fists, as well as clad them in black Busou-shoku no Haki. But, it wasn't enough. Suddenly, blood erupted from Leo's fists in significant amounts, splattering in every direction for Admiral Kizaru and Vice Admiral Tsuru to see.

Leo's Durability untransformed: 81-100: 5. Town Level + 1 rank (Tekkai) + COA: +2 = 8. Island Level

DPR 2 or more higher than durability: super effective

The creature was blown away and into the wall, where it then spawned bizarre appendages and crawled away through the hole. Leo was left with bloodied up fists, but he promptly crossed his arms and tucked his fists into his sleeves.

By the time the creature was gone, Leo was seen visibly distraught.

That's impossible... what's going on?

His fellow Admirals would likely think Leo was distraught because he was injured, but in fact, it was because of the technique that the creature had used. A technique that Leo knew very well. A technique that he always had trouble dealing with. But where did he know it from?

With a shock to his senses, birthed from the realization of where the technique was from, the Vice-admiral faltered for a second. His hands were the victim, blood following. Vice-Admiral Tsuru and Admiral Kizaru stopped, their eyes in shock. They had never seen the Marine Hero be wounded so early. What was going on? This had to be more than battle prowess. What caused him to falter?

[Vice-Admiral Tsuru] “W-what happened?! Get it together, it’s fleeing! We need to kill it!!”

The tracker tried to flee. Vice-Admiral Tsuru slammed her hands into the wall. Slowly, but surely, washing water was draped over the exits, blocking them. The Tracker clicked madly, having to turn back. Kizaru had finished with the spheres. The only ones left were around the tracker.

[Admiral Kizaru] “Do you think you’d get away? We have some questions for you…”

Kizaru appeared behind the creature, with Leo in front. The Tracker was now trapped. The Admiral’s aura had changed to one serious. Light focused on his hands. Lasers erupted, hitting the spheres and exploding prematurely. The Tracker clicked madly in the smoke, trying to see, but unable to, vulnerable.

Outside, Enki plummeted deeper. The bottom of the sea was nigh.

Both Vice Admiral Tsuru and Admiral Kizaru were shocked to see Leo, a man widely considered to be a Marine Hero, wounded so early in the mission - and by the first enemy they encountered to be precise.

This prompted them to act quickly. Vice Admiral Tsuru blocked off the exit using her wash powers, while Admiral Kizaru intercepted the creature, aiming to attack it together with Leo from front and back. In fact, that was exactly what Vice Admiral Tsuru called onto Leo to do, telling him to get it together and that they had to catch the creature here. However, likely to Vice Admiral Tsuru's and Admiral Kizaru's further surprise, calling onto Leo did not wake him from his shock. Leo was deep in his mind, recalling certain memories. What was it that shocked him so much?

What happened next would shock both of his fellow Marines. Leo, who had crossed his arms and hidden his fists inside his sleeves, now uncrossed his arms. His fists were completely uninjured, and Leo reached into his pocket, pulling out a Den Den Mushi. A Den Den Mushi that Leo had not dialed in a decade. The Den Den Mushi had blond hair, a female face and an annoyed facial expression. The Den Den Mushi started to connect, and Leo was trying to contact someone. Would she pick up? Would Leo's complete abandonment of the battle cost the group? Or would Admiral Kizaru manage to finish the creature off on his own?

Without a doubt, the mission was quickly going off tracks.
