The two boats slowly got closer, the Sea Pixie only really moving forwards because of the waves but the Shark Emeralda had the sails still up and was going at a decent pace. They were reaching the sort of distance that both crew could see movement and certain details on the other ship's decks, people with good eyesight would be able to directly see what the ones nearest the sides or on the rigging were actually doing.

Sophie was still occasionally giving out orders but had delegated most of them to the other officers and people further down the hierarchy. She was taking the time to make things look less tidy and let people know to act less like well trained professionals and more like a crew of merchants; she didn't know at least one of the pirates had already noticed their discipline. Many of the crew were now being more 'sloppy' and making mistakes as a way to show their inexperience and that they were nervous.

After a few more minutes, the other vessel was now close enough for the lavender-haired woman to easily see the crew. Without even needing to use her Observation Haki, she could easily spot 3 members that clearly stood out in power. The one that she is pretty sure is the captain speaks into a Den Den Mushi again while she is observing them, Sophie doesn't take much notice of the chains on his arms as she is used to odd things like that due to spending a lot of time in the Grand Line.

He raised a chain-wrapped hand and spoke into his den-den mushi again, voice crisp and commanding. “Unidentified vessel. You prepare for battle yet you do not raise colours. State your purpose or I will uncover it myself.
Yep, definitely the Captain Her eyes slightly narrow as she tries to decide if they should reply or not. Deciding not to as it might give away who they truly are and they will probably board them either way, Sophie heads to the helm and makes them anchor the Sea Pixie. Very distracted by what was currently going on, she doesn't even glance at the pile of feathers at the back of the ship and probably wouldn't even notice the blonde hair on top of it even if she did.

By the time she has finished and looked back at the Shark Emeralda, it had also come to a stop and she could easily see the pirates now had their weapons drawn and were preparing grapple lines. Knowing they were about to board, Sophie makes her way back down the stairs and stands a distance away from the side of the ship to 'welcome' them. She puts on an expression that is slightly smiling but also clearly shows she is trying to hide how nervous she is. They are joined by a few other crew members while others 'hide' behind barrels and other obstacles, only a handful are in or close to strategic/good battle locations to help give the impression they are just merchants.

On a rope on the other side of the ship from where the pirates will be boarding, Amy is perched while being slightly obscured by the mast and other rigging. She is in a good position to start shooting if they start attacking soon after coming on to the Sea Pixie but has her weapon hidden away like all the other Revolutionaries.

Grapple hooks clamped onto the Sea Pixie’s railings and the Shark Emeralda locked against its prey. Chains tightened and boarding planks slammed down as the Treasure Pirates moved with purpose and confidence.

Mad Treasure stepped onto the enemy deck first, boots striking the wood like a judge’s gavel. Chains rattled behind him, metallic and alive in the sea breeze. His grin was wide as he took in the nervous faces before him.

Jarararara. A tidy little ship pretending to quake in fear. Either you are very new to the sea or very good at lying.

Naomi Drunk landed beside him, bottle in hand. She looked around lazily, unimpressed by the attempt to appear harmless. “If this lot are merchants, I am a priest. Even their mess looks intentional. No one panics in neat little circles.

Psycho P dropped down next, flipping lightly before landing in a crouch. He gave the deck a slow scan, his grin growing amused. “Yo, yo, quiet crew, eyes low, hearts tight. They tryin’ to hide somethin’ from sight.

Treasure ignored the fearful crew scattered around the deck and examined their positions. Some hid behind barrels. Others held ropes awkwardly. It was all a little too staged.

They have prepared for a performance,” he said softly. “How charming.

Naomi took a long drink, sighing through her nose. “So what is it then, Captain. Smugglers pretending to be traders. Or traders with something to hide.

Psycho P tapped a rhythm on the railing. His head tilted slightly as if listening to a quiet song. “Something off below deck. No movement. No noise. That is wrong for merchants.” He jerked his chin toward the Sea Pixie’s hold. “Feels like a secret chained up down there.

Treasure’s smile sharpened. “Chains. Now that is a familiar language.

He turned to his crew behind him. “Hold your blades for now. No blood yet.

He took a slow step forward, his presence alone making the nearest sailors recoil.

I am Mad Treasure. I do not hunt ships or sailors. I hunt what they hide. Somewhere on this vessel there is something worth protecting. I will find it.

Naomi leaned back against the railing with her bottle. “If they do not crack soon I will get bored,” she muttered. “And when I get bored I start breaking things.

Psycho P gave a steady nod. “Then let us make them sing fast.

Treasure’s chains slithered forward like metallic serpents, coiling lazily as if tasting the air. He studied the faces before him, each one more frightened than the last.

Bring me the truth,” he said to his crew, voice calm and cold. “Start with the cargo hold. If anyone interferes, shatter them.

He looked up briefly, pink eyes narrowing as he scanned the mast and rigging. He felt something. Someone watching.

His grin returned.

And someone is missing from the party. Good. Nothing tastes sweeter than a hunt.

The sound of grapple hooks hitting wood echoes multiple times, closely followed by the sound of boarding planks and boots. A few of the Revolutionaries tense slightly, knowing that there is a high chance the pirates will quickly attack despite their captains words over the Den Den Mushi.

The first person to jump down on to the ship was the dark skinned muscular man Sophie was 100% sure is the boss. He was quickly joined by the two others she singled out earlier, a woman with a drink in her hand and a man in a pink coat wearing a pair of small sunglasses. All of them scan the ship while the rest of the crew board the ship behind them. Seeing that they wasn't attacking as soon as they arrived, the people that tensed slightly relax but also try and keep their expressions looking nervous.

Sophie lets them think they are in control of the situation and does nothing to make her position known, since she was standing with a fair few other people none of them would yet be able to tell she was in charge. She takes the time to study them more up-close, although doesn't go as far to use Observation Haki in the small case one of them could also use it; even in the first Grand Line it would be very rare but she didn't want to even risk it just in case. They talk amongst themselves for a bit and then Mad Treasure steps forwards and 'introduces' himself.

I am Mad Treasure. I do not hunt ships or sailors. I hunt what they hide. Somewhere on this vessel there is something worth protecting. I will find it.
Well there goes the idea we can end things peacefully, he doesn't seem like the type to just be given things and then leave us alone. He can't be allowed to take our supplies and probably can't be bribed with gold, leaving only one real choice. Without Jade being there to essentially give the inevitable order, Sophie was a bit reluctant to make the choice herself but knew the only way out of this was to fight. The only question now was when to give it, now and hope to take them all by surprise or let them get a bit more comfortable and then do it? Before she can make the decision, the lavender haired girls attention was drawn to the chains on Mad Treasure's arms; there was no mistaking them moving oddly now he was standing mostly still right infront of her. Did those chains just move like snakes? If so that changes things as he might have a Devil Fruit ability. Without knowing if he does or not and if so what it can do, I can't risk rushing into violence.

Seeing him turn to look back at his crew to give orders, Sophie steps forwards in a manner that nobody would know is an act "Please, we are just a crew of wary traders on their way back from selling to a nearby island" If the pirate captain didn't already know something was wrong, he would easily be fooled as she had just the right inflection and expression of a scared merchant; he wouldn't be the first person she had hoodwinked and probably wouldn't be the last. All the revolutionaries had skill at subterfuge due to how their organisation functioned, one of the only reasons their act was 'too perfect' was due to them not having much time to prepare. The other major reason was that they all knew that violence was very likely, so wasn't putting in as much effort as they otherwise might have.

The hooks bit into the Sea Pixie’s hull, followed by the thud of boots and the creak of planks. The Shark Emeralda’s crew poured aboard like a tide well-rehearsed.

Mad Treasure led them, chains coiling faintly at his sides as he surveyed the trembling crew with a predator’s calm. “Jarararara... such a quiet welcome,” he said, voice dripping with amusement. “Are you actors or simply cowards?

Naomi Drunk landed beside him, swirling her bottle lazily. “Too tidy for fear,” she said, half-smiling. “If they were truly scared, someone would have dropped their nerve—or their drink.

Psycho P crouched low, knuckles tapping a playful rhythm. “Captain,” he whispered, grin wide and teeth bared, “they smell rehearsed. Like prey pretending to be bait.

Treasure tilted his head, gaze cutting through the façade. “Let us see what game they think they’re playing.

The air grew taut. Chains slithered softly. Naomi’s bottle tipped, spilling a thin stream of rum across the deck. Psycho P’s grin twitched wider. “Can I?” he asked, voice sing-song and eager.

Treasure didn’t answer. He didn’t need to.

In the next heartbeat, Psycho P moved. His pink coat blurred as he spun, striking the nearest sailor across the jaw before the man could blink. The crack of impact shattered the false calm, sending barrels and nerves tumbling.

Naomi laughed, raising her bottle in a toast. “Guess that answers that.

Mad Treasure’s grin sharpened as his chains stirred like living serpents. “So much for honesty,” he said, stepping forward. “Let’s strip this ship bare.

The deck erupted into chaos, the illusion of fear replaced by the real thing as the Treasure Pirates began their hunt.

As more and more pirates boarded the ship, the Revolutionaries on the top deck all tried to remain calm; they had faced much more powerful enemies than this group from one of the Blues. Nobody said anything or really moved, freely letting the intruders observe.

The captain and what seemed to be his left and right-hands casually converse near where Sophie and several other people are standing. As he talks, she notices the chains coil and move again; seeming to respond to his mood or at least a part of his subconscious.
Maybe a power that controls metal and he just has a preference for chains? They might even be part of his body somehow as I can't really see the other end... The lavender-haired woman was trying to figure out his power, since it would be useful to know if, or more likely when, the fighting started. She herself had never really directly fought many Devil Fruit users, as even in the Grand Line they were uncommon and were also generally the strongest members of a group so Jade would usually fight them; mainly because it was part of the Dwarf's personality to reduce the amount of injuries and fatalities in the crew as much as possible. Since she had time and nothing much to do while she waited, Sophie wanted to use it for something constructive; even if she knew she was just using it as a way to distract herself.

Feeling a slight shift in the pirates due to her experience, her attention is drawn to the man wearing small sunglasses. Before he had even finished preparing to move, Sophie knew he was about to attack; it takes everything she has to remain standing where she is. She would never have made it in time to stop it, so revealing how skilled she was this early was pointless; the officer just had to trust whoever was hit would be able to take it. The strike sends the man flying and he spins several times in the air before hitting the wood.

For a few seconds there is silence and then most of the Revolutionaries look like a switch has been hit, going from scared and nervous to determined and focused. Coming out from behind covers, many of them draw their hidden weapons; knowing that strike was basically a signal for the battle to begin. Amy and several other people in good positions above the deck take aim with their guns, lining up the pirate that is closest in their weapon sights.

Before things can go too far, Sophie holds up her arm palm facing forwards; signaling them all to stop. The effect was immediate, everyone going from fighting stances and seconds away from charging in to pulling back and pointing their weapons downwards.
"We don't want a fight, but we will if you do not apologize and retreat in the next 60 seconds. Our mission is time-sensitive so we can't afford to draw this out; this is your first and only warning. Which is more than you deserve" Going from pretending to be a meek and nervous leader of a merchant ship, Sophie's whole demeanor is now different and her voice has so much authority that it wouldn't be surprising if some of the pirates actually tried to say sorry and go back to their ship. It is such a drastic change that Mad Treasure and the rest of his crew now have a very obviously powerful warrior in front of them, no Haki is needed to see she is clearly the strongest Revolutionary member on the deck.

Psycho P caught the lavender-haired woman’s gaze. Her eyes lingered a second too long. He grinned, then blurred forward.

His blades flashed, cutting through the air like a rhythm only he could hear. A Revolutionary was sent flying before the rest even reacted. Muskets snapped up, gunfire cracked across the deck, then stopped as Sophie raised her hand.

The silence that followed was heavy. Her posture shifted, her voice steady and commanding.
"We don't want a fight, but we will if you do not apologize and retreat in the next 60 seconds. Our mission is time-sensitive so we can't afford to draw this out; this is your first and only warning. Which is more than you deserve"
Mad Treasure tilted his head, his grin twisting wider. The change in her presence was impossible to ignore, the kind of confidence that did not belong to a merchant.

Jarararara… sixty seconds, you say?” he mused, stepping forward, chains slithering to life at his sides. “You speak like someone who believes the sea owes her respect. How curious.

Naomi took another swig, eyes half-lidded. “Captain, you might want to think before doing something stupid.

Think?” Treasure laughed, spreading his arms. “The sea rewards impulse, Naomi.

His chains lashed out, glittering gold in the sunlight as they struck toward Sophie, the air cracking from the force. “Let us see if your tongue is as sharp as your act.

No named technique = DPR D
DF Mastery = 41
Total DPR = Wall/Tree Level

Psycho P darted around the deck like a gleeful predator, blades carving sparks from the wood. Naomi sighed, lowering her pistol with a crooked smile. “Always the hard way,” she murmured, watching as chaos began to unfold.

The battle erupted in a single heartbeat. Chains coiled, steel clashed, and the deck of the Sea Pixie exploded into violence.

All the Revolutionaries wait with bated breath, the tension between them and pirates almost being visible. Most of them were still half-ready to spring into action any second, despite Sophie's signal to stop and stand down as they didn't trust the interlopers not to surprise attacks while everyone is distracted by stand-off between the leader and Revolutionary second-in-command.

A small part of Sophie was hoping that her words and strong form would be enough to dissuade the captain from continuing, but the rest of her knew it was very unlikely. Everything about the pirates so far showed they wanted a fight, threatening them wasn't going to work, but that was her only real option as she had nothing to bargain or trade and they couldn't afford too much of a delay. Mad Treasure steps forwards and speaks, giving no impression he was even thinking about backing down.

If she didn't already know to keep an eye on the chains, she might have been caught a bit off-guard by his attack as the pirate captain just spread his arms before they moved on their own. Slightly sighing, Sophie semi-casually puts her right hand on the handle of the sword at her hip and the other hand grabs the scabbard part way down. Letting the chains come close to hitting her, she suddenly moves slightly to the side and in the same movement draws her blade part way; blocking and deflecting the metal downward, one moment standing tall facing forwards and the next in a fighting stance slightly diagonal.

Getting into a more neutral stance, Sophie stands on one of the chains with her left foot and fully draws her sword with one hand. Putting her arm up in the exact same way as earlier, she keeps looking at the Mad Treasure
"Give them hell" She turns her open palm into a fist, giving the signal to attack.

The Revolutionaries don't hesitate, knowing by her words to not hold back and finish this as quickly as possible. The sound of gunshots and metal on metal ring out across the deck as the inevitable battle between the two crews starts.

The moment Sophie’s stance shifted, the pirates read it as a challenge. Mad Treasure’s grin widened, golden teeth glinting beneath the dim light. He and his crew had been waiting for this. Without a word, he raised his arms, chains rattling as they came to life, coiling and twisting around him like restless serpents.

Naomi Drunk and Psycho P exchanged a quick nod. No words, no hesitation, only understanding. The air around them thickened with intent, with the target being Sophie.

Mad Treasure thrust his hands forward. “Mad Chain!

A storm of chains burst out, whipping across the deck, their tips gleaming like fangs. Naomi sprang upward, twisting mid-air as her bow formed in her hands. In one fluid motion, she drew and released, arrows raining down toward Sophie as she soared above the attack.

Psycho P broke into motion from below, his figure flickering across the deck. He closed the gap in a heartbeat, blade drawn, cutting toward Sophie’s other flank with vicious precision.

The clash was instant. Chains struck steel, sparks igniting in bursts of orange light. Arrows sliced through the haze, and Psycho P’s blade carved through the air, each movement measured and merciless.

Around them, the Revolutionaries stood tense, caught between awe and alarm. The first gunshots cracked through the silence, followed by the roar of steel on steel. The battle had begun.

Rather than being surprised or afraid at how easy she dealt with the attack, Mad Treasure is actually seemingly happy; his mouth widening into a bigger grin. Sophie sees his hand raise and he then gathers chains, obviously preparing for another attack.
The two other strong combatants in front of her look at each other and exchange nods before also moving to strike as well.

The lavender-haired woman takes all of this in as she keeps standing in a neutral stance. She takes a quick look around to the side of her and sees everyone nearby has moved away to fight the pirates elsewhere, knowing from experience to stay away from the leader of the enemy. When she turns back, Mad Treasure has unleashed his attack and was then closely followed by multiple arrows being fired from above by the woman.

The sunglasses-wearing man runs into attack, aiming his blade at her flank. Despite the onslaught of attacks, Sophie's expression doesn't change; but her stance does. Rather than blocking Psycho-P's attack, she jumps back to give herself space to deal with the chains and arrows still flying through the air. While moving backwards, Sophie brings her sword up and slashes the air infront of her with cuts so fast she looks like she has two blades to an untrained eye. Only the first couple were close enough to hit Psycho-P and the arrows are cut in half before they are anywhere near her.

The chains and blade make sparks when they collide, the first few links shattering of each one but the rest are sturdy enough to clash evenly with her attacks for a bit before being overwhelmed. Sophie stops swinging her weapon when all the chains coming at her are in pieces or deflected/hit away. Now standing a fair distance from Mad Treasure & Naomi but fairly close to Psycho-P, she isn't in a full fighting stance but was partly in one; holding her sword with both hands.

The ship slowly gets even louder as the fighting becomes more intense, metal on metal and the firing of bullets sounding across the entire top deck and some of the lower ones. The blonde haired girl opens her eyes, sensing something was wrong.

The deck vibrated under the relentless chaos. Sophie moved like a storm of silver light, cutting through chains, arrows, and empty swings, her every motion precise, overwhelming, and terrifyingly fast. Naomi Drunk struggled to keep up, her arrows falling short or shattering midair, frustration and desperation flickering across her face. Psycho P lunged again, but Sophie was a blur; his blade met nothing but empty air. For the first time, he felt helpless, his usual confidence faltering.

Mad Treasure’s grin widened, the thrill of the hunt igniting in his chest. The brief blur of Sophie’s movement had caught his attention, and he hesitated for only a heartbeat, eyes narrowing with interest. Then, with a sharp motion, he began reeling in his chains. They coiled around his muscular arms and fists, thickening with power and weight as if feeding his anticipation.

Naomi shot another arrow, swinging in a wide arc to follow Sophie, but the speed gap was staggering. Psycho P braced himself, squinting, trying to track her impossible movements.

Treasure’s eyes gleamed. The chains around his fists twisted tighter, glinting in the sunlight. “Jarararara! Let’s see how fast you really are!

With a roar, he lunged forward, fists wrapped in chains, swinging with devastating force. The impact would smash through anything in its path. The air vibrated with the power of the Chain Hammer, the metal links thrumming like a drum as they cut toward Sophie, a deadly storm launched straight at the heart of her stance.

"Chain Hammer" as Mad Treasure roared bearing towards Sophie.

The Revolutionaries instinctively gave her space, hearts hammering, knowing that the captain’s attack alone could crush the deck beneath them. Sparks flew as the first chain-clad fist sliced past, a brutal prelude to the carnage about to follow.

Dealing with all three of their attacks so easily wasn't enough to make them fully stop, but it made Psycho-P and Naomi falter & become less confident. Mad Treasure on the other hand was still grinning and laughing, seemingly enjoying fighting such a strong opponent.

A bit tired of being on the defensive and seeing the pirate captain was preparing an attack, Sophie prepares for one of her own. Lowering her stance, she holds her sword horizontally on the right side of her body near her head. Bracing her legs, the lavender-haired woman launches herself forwards at such velocity there is a small sonic boom. Part way towards Mad Treasure, who had also lunged forwards for his strike, she stabs her blade ahead of her.

The resulting collision makes a very loud sound and creates a shockwave that rocks the entire ship. Many people, Revolutionaries and pirates are hit backwards or even knocked off their feet due to the force; a handful actually fall off the Sea Pixie as they were close to the edge. There is a small pause while everyone recovers and then the sounds of fighting start back up.

If Jade wasn't awake before, she was now. Before she can move though, the feathers she is lying on shift and a massive bird suddenly stands up tall at the back of the ship. The small girl falls off Zazu onto the deck just before it caws, the sound being more like a roar that rocks the boat a second time.
2275

It only takes the Warrant Officer a few seconds to figure out what is going on. She quickly draws her weapon and blurs, hitting all the pirates at the stern of the Sea Pixie before they can recover from the sudden appearance of a blue, white and red bird. One of them is sent flying off into the water but the rest of them are hit by the flat of her blade, knocking them out. In less than 30 seconds, the Dwarf had taken out more people than the rest of the Revolutionaries combined.

Made a error here in DPR as its supposed to be City Block Level not City Level.
Strength = 61 (Small Building Level) + DPR B (+2) = City Level
Sophie and Mad Treasure collided in a burst of force that split the air. Her blade thrust forward at full power as his Chain Hammer met it head on, metal-wrapped fists crashing against steel. The impact exploded across the deck, a shockwave tearing through the air and rocking the entire ship. Neither gave ground. Sparks snapped between them as their strength ground evenly against each other.

Before the air even settled, Jade moved.

The tiny warrior blurred across the deck, striking Naomi Drunk first. One precise blow to the side of the head dropped the archer instantly. Psycho P barely had time to blink before Jade appeared beside him. A second strike launched him clean off the ship and into the sea.

Mad Treasure caught it all in the corner of his eye. His grin froze for a heartbeat. Naomi lying motionless. Psycho P thrown into the ocean. Two of his strongest crushed in seconds.

His chains rattled around his arms as he pushed harder against Sophie’s blade. His grin slowly crept back, stretched and feverish.

"Good" he breathed, delighted by the danger.

Inside his mind, a thought flickered. 'If I suffer another blow like that, my confidence will crack. I cannot let that happen.'

He leaned forward, muscles straining, chains coiling tighter around his fists as he stared into Sophie's calm eyes.

"Let us see how long you can keep up" he said, laughter ready to break free again, desperate to drown out the quiet panic clawing at the back of his mind.

The real fight had entered its next stage, and both of them knew it.

He stepped back suddenly, boots scraping across the deck. The chains on his arms slithered and hissed, gathering around him in thick coils.

"Let us raise the stakes" he said.

His arms spread wide.

The chains began to unfurl, dozens of them snapping into the air like awakened serpents as he prepared his next technique.

"Mad Chain."

Mad Treasure's "Mad Chain"

Even if the pirates were able to keep up with her, nobody was watching Jade anyway due to the massive bird that was casting a shadow on the entire deck. Zazu lets out a roar-like squawk again and flaps his outstretched wings, creating enough of a breeze it would have moved the ship forwards if the sail was unfurled.

Sophie takes the opportunity to move away from Mad Treasure and then looks at the Dwarf standing fairly close by with a look that was half relief and half annoyance. Jade looks back with a sheepish grin, holding her sword out to the side. The sudden appearance of their actual leader and the distraction from Zazu is enough for the Revolutionaries to start to rally, able to get in a good attack on their opponents or counter and move away if they were on the defensive.

"Sorry, didn't realize we had company" The Warrant Officer makes her presence fully known with a loud apology. Some of the people near her didn't even know she was there till she spoke and looked down at the sudden voice.

Sophie just shake her head and points towards where Mad Treasure is standing
"You get to deal with him now you are here. Be careful, he has some sort of ability". No longer paying attention to the pirate captain, the lavender-haired woman turns away and goes to help her comrades elsewhere on the deck. She quickly saves a few with a single slash of her sword, destroying the weapons of two enemies that were about to cut some fairly new recruits.

Jade shifts her focus to Mad Treasure and almost immediately notices the chains moving on his arms and near him
I guess that is his ability, probably a Devil Fruit of some kind as it doesn't look like he is using a Cursed Weapon. As if responding to her thoughts, the very large sword in her hands subtly glows slightly. She had yet to meet anyone else who had a weapon like hers but was keeping it in mind just in case. Her new opponent seems to start preparing an attack, multiple chains unfurling into the air around him. The small girl gets into a strong fighting stance and holds her blade pointing up with two hands on the handle just infront of her body.

Smoke and dust slowly drifted across the battered deck. Neo-pirates clashed with Revolutionaries in pockets of violence, but the centre of the ship fell into a tense quiet as Mad Treasure stepped forward.

Psycho P hung over the rail, coughing seawater, fighting to remain conscious. Naomi Drunk sat slumped against a crate, breath shallow, eyes half-open as she tried to stay aware of her surroundings.

Mad Treasure ignored their weakened states. His focus was locked entirely on the small figure who had appeared at the heart of the chaos.

He grinned, wide and bright, chains rippling around him like restless serpents.
He raised his voice so there was no mistaking who he was addressing.

"So you are the real leader here. I was beginning to wonder when someone worth my time would show up."

He took another deliberate step forward. The chains loosened slightly, lowering but still twitching with energy.

Psycho P stared in disbelief at the confidence written across his captain’s back. Naomi managed the faintest frown, her instincts screaming at her that things were about to become far worse.

Mad Treasure tilted his head, studying his new opponent with childlike curiosity.

"I will admit something to you," he said, tone almost cheerful. "Your people are stronger than I expected. Strong enough that if I lose here, it might crack something in me I will not get back."

His smile sharpened.

"But that only makes this more exciting."

He spread his arms as if welcoming the next stage of the fight, though the chains remained lowered, coiling lazily across the deck rather than launching forward. He was talking, not attacking.

"Tell me your name, little warrior. If I am going to break someone today, I would like to know who they are first."

The chains behind him rattled softly, like a chorus waiting for a cue.

He did not attack.

Not yet.

He wanted to hear her answer first.

In a different part of the deck, Amy swings from the ropes she is holding onto and drops to the deck. As soon as she starts to fall, several bullets fly through the air around the area she just was. Bringing her rifle up, she doesn't target the small group of pirates as they start to react to her now being on the same level as them; instead she aims at the barrel next to them and fires. The bullet makes it explode into shards and debris, hurting the two close to it but only making the others jump away. Before they can recover, all of them receive a wound in their dominant arm; effectively taking them out of the fight as they could no longer really hold a weapon.

Only a short distance away, Sophie was clashing with another pirate and their sword. She drops low and gets under their guard enough to slash their chest. Looking around and seeing Amy was fine and also searching for their next opponent, the lavender-haired woman sets off to help another Revolutionary.

"So you are the real leader here. I was beginning to wonder when someone worth my time would show up."

He took another deliberate step forward. The chains loosened slightly, lowering but still twitching with energy.

Mad Treasure tilted his head, studying his new opponent with childlike curiosity.

"I will admit something to you," he said, tone almost cheerful. "Your people are stronger than I expected. Strong enough that if I lose here, it might crack something in me I will not get back."
"It looks like my second-in-command was keeping you entertained, so I hope you can forgive me if I don't apologize for being late" Jade's voice has just as much authority as Sophie's but even beyond the words was a layer of playfulness and energy. "We should be pretty strong, most of us have fought people in the Grand Line. Maybe you should get that looked at, it can't be healthy to have something that will crack" She keeps responding in the same slightly cheerful tone, as if the small girl is conversing with a new acquaintance, rather than a pirate who had been trying to hurt and kill her crew.

There was a bit of a pause while she shifts her weight and then everyone nearby suddenly gets the vision/mental image of her being more like a tall human or even a Giant in size rather than the race she actually is, as if they can tangibly glimpse how powerful she is despite her small body. "My name is Jade Belle, Warrant Officer of the Revolutionary Army and former member of the Marines" Although her voice doesn't seem to change, the playful and slightly cheerful undertone was gone; replaced by something that wasn't quite a challenge but also wasn't far off a warning to not test her and her power. As she speaks, the large sword in her hands glows even more and was just as obvious some sort of power as the chains around Mad Treasure. "You will find me hard to break despite my stature. I do not want to fight but we are in a hurry and I will not let down the people depending on me to satisfy your games"

Although she had just revealed who they actually were, it didn't really matter at this point as they knew they were some powerful group of non-Marines/pirates and the Revolutionaries would either defeat the crew and be on their way or the pirates will kill/capture them. Their mission would be complete by the time they regrouped and got another ship, and it was unlikely they would find them again anyway.

OOC:
The Bold is Mad Treasure speaking, the italic is him thinking

Mad Treasure watched the chaos of the deck unfold with a lazy grin, chains coiling and uncoiling around his arms like restless predators. Gunshots cracked somewhere behind him, a girl swung down from a rope, barrels exploded, pirates cried out… yet none of it mattered. His eyes stayed fixed on the small figure who had declared herself Jade Belle.

The others can bleed and blunder as they like. My treasure is this moment.’

She stood there with that oversized glowing sword, speaking to him with a cheerfulness that almost made him laugh. She talked as if this were a casual chat between strangers at a tavern rather than the start of a battle. She teased him about being cracked. She apologised for being late. She acted as though she was doing him a favour simply by standing here.

The audacity of it made something warm stir in his chest.

Then she shifted her stance, and the air thickened. For a heartbeat he swore he was staring at a giant wearing the disguise of a small girl. Power, real power, pressed against him like the deck itself was bowing under her weight.

His grin sharpened.

There you are. Not a child. Not a recruit. Something heavy. Something rare.

She introduced herself with calm authority: Jade Belle, Warrant Officer of the Revolutionary Army, former Marine. But her playful tone vanished. What replaced it was a steady warning that she would not let him hinder her mission, no matter how much he wanted to indulge his games.

He finally let out a low chuckle and took a slow step toward her.

"You speak with confidence, Jade Belle. Almost as if you believe you already know how this ends."

The chains around him quivered in excitement, sensing the rise in his pulse.

He tilted his head, keeping his smile fixed. "You say you are hard to break. Good. I have always preferred opponents who resist."

He watched her closely, noting how her sword glowed brighter in response. She was tense, focused. She was not underestimating him. And that pleased him more than he expected.

If I defeat her, my confidence will soar. But if she defeats me…’ For a brief second he acknowledged the truth to himself. ‘My pride may finally crack.’

Strangely, he felt no fear. Only anticipation.

He kept talking, unwilling to let the silence take her away from him.

"Tell me, Warrant Officer" he continued with a grin. "How many foes have stood where I stand now? How many have heard you announce your name like a sentence they cannot escape?"

He raised his arm slightly, allowing a few chains to slide free and curl through the air like venomous tails.

"Do all of them still haunt the sea? Or do most sink beneath it?"

He chuckled again, amused by his own question. "I want to know what sort of legend I am crossing blades with today. After all, if I fall, it is better to know the name of the one who shatters me."

His eyes narrowed slightly, delighted.

"But if I do not fall…" he said quietly, voice low with promise, "you will remember my name long after this ship stops rocking."

He let another chain unwind, drifting lazily behind him like a metallic serpent.

"Mad Treasure" he said softly, savouring the way the words filled the air between them. "A name you will either carve into your victories… or choke on in defeat."

He leaned forward just enough to make his intent unmistakable.

"Now then, Jade Belle. Before your crew rallies, before anyone interrupts us…"
His grin widened to its fullest. "Talk to me a little longer."

His chains rattled with impatience, but he didn’t attack. Not yet.

He wanted the conversation. He wanted the tension. He wanted her attention.

"Tell me why someone with such power still bothers to warn their enemies. Is it mercy? Habit? Or are you simply giving me the chance to turn back?"

He laughed, knowing full well what her answer would be. "Because I will not be turning back."

Nikko talking to Jade in her head=This colour
Jade talking to Nikko in her mind=This colour

Although she was keeping a slight eye on things around her and making sure none of her men were about to die or take a serious injury, Jade's main focus was the man in front of her. Due to him obviously having a power, and it being mentioned by Sophie even if she hadn't noticed, she wasn't analyzing his stance or doing anything else she might do before the fight started; mainly because it was kind of pointless if he didn't fight 'normally' she would probably have to get rid of any assumptions she made very quickly.

A voice in her head basically confirms he isn't using a Cursed Weapon, which means it kind of has to be a Devil Fruit. Jade briefly thinks about hitting him off the side like she did to one of the other pirates a few minutes before, but quickly discards the idea as his own ship was too close to do it easily and she would probably need to get him to the opposite side to have a chance. It could also lead to him drowning anyway and the Dwarf's Justice wouldn't allow her to do something like that unless she found out he was an irredeemable monster.

He seems to like talking doesn't he? It is a bit suprising how even hundreds of years later most pirates are still so brash and sure of themselves they can't see when they are outmatched. The same voice speaks again, her sword (or at least the Spirit inside) Nikko deciding to comment some more while he can do so without distracting her. He also doesn't seem to care that the rest of his crew are losing, meaning even if he did beat you he would have to fight everyone else. Although maybe he is one of those people who like to fight and loves having a chance to die so is actually looking forward to fighting all the Revolutionaries

It is not just pirates who are often overconfident these days, a lot of Marines think they are unstoppable just due to the size of the organisation. Pirates are probably actually more bold than back in your day, 'the Great Pirate Era' unleashed by Gol. D. Roger made so many people go to sea that for the first time in hundreds of years the Marines and World Government are actually outnumbered; or at least spread too thin that numbers doesn't matter. Although at first struggling to get used to having someone talk in her head and often speaking out loud to reply, Jade was now able to quite easily converse without her opponents noticing. Of course only a small percentage of pirates ever actually reach the point they would get a decently high bounty, most dying or being imprisoned before that happens.

The small girl's full attention goes back to the man in front of her, although it was only a small amount of her focus that actually ever left him. "Well I can't give you an actual number, so that should probably tell all you need to know. It's not in my nature to sink everyone, I generally save and help even my enemies if the situation isn't very bad" She looks to the sky slightly, knowing she can risk it and react even if he tries anything "I am not like most people on the seas, I don't fight to kill or get treasures like pirates, I don't hunt and arrest outlaws like Marines or use subterfuge and assassinations like Cipher Pol. I'm not even like the vast majority of Revolutionaries as I will help even members of the corrupt government or slayers of my men, just because I don't like killing and want to make the world better; not wanting to continue the same cycles that has been happening all over the world for hundreds of years."

Her eyes come back down to look at Mad Treasure again, her expression slightly sombre "However I am not naive enough to believe I can change things just because I don't like certain stuff and choose not to do them. There has to be a balance of these nice words and actual strong actions that work to improve things, otherwise I will fall like so many have done before me and just be a name on a long list of people who have failed to change the world and make it better. I don't want to shatter anyone, but I will shatter the world itself if it brings an end to everything that stops the innocent from being safe and happy" As she talks, her blade starts to darken at the crossguard and it slowly spreads upwards until it is entirely black; her Armament Haki responding to her words and resolve.
"Tell me why someone with such power still bothers to warn their enemies. Is it mercy? Habit? Or are you simply giving me the chance to turn back?"
"If just one person chooses not to fight or do evil deeds just because I warned them, it is one more person that can change and find a better path. It also just wouldn't be right to me to attack without at least giving someone a chance, the only reason I hit your comrades earlier is because I knew Sophie would have already given a warning and even then it was just a tap to make them stop what they were doing." Only someone like Jade could call knocking someone off the ship before they even realized they had been hit, a 'tap'. "It would be a little hypocritical if I go around saying all these things about helping the weak and saving people but then never actually give anyone the chance to surrender or explain themselves"

Mad Treasure listened to the small girl speak, her voice controlled and unwavering. She talked of mercy, restraint, helping enemies, refusing to repeat cycles of cruelty, and changing the world by force only when absolutely necessary. Every word carried a conviction he had not heard from anyone on these seas in a very long time.

He found himself smiling as she went on. Not jest. Not arrogance. Something closer to interest.

She truly means every word. Even while standing in front of a man like me.

Her sword glimmered faintly, though he could not read the meaning behind it. He simply saw a girl holding a large blade with a confidence that did not fit her size.

"You speak strangely for someone choosing to stand in my way, Jade Belle" he said, his tone far more composed than it had been earlier. "You talk about saving enemies, helping the weak, refusing to kill. Yet here you are, ready to fight me without hesitation."

He watched her carefully, noticing the calm in her posture, the focus in her eyes. Nothing about her suggested fear.

"You claim you heal rather than harm. Admirable, perhaps. Dangerous, certainly. Do you truly believe this sea rewards mercy" he asked. "Most people I have met would take your kindness, stab you in the back and sail off laughing."

The chains wrapped around his arms shifted with a quiet metallic whisper as he relaxed his grip.

"And yet you stand here talking about breaking the world itself if it protects the innocent. I have heard many pirates talk grandly, but they do not speak like you do. Their threats are empty. Yours… feel honest."

He gave a low amused breath.

"You are not like my crew. You are not like most pirates or Marines. You are not even like the assassins of Cipher Pol. You stand here as if this fight does not frighten you in the slightest."

A chain dropped and dragged along the deck in a slow coil.

"You think you are different from us. Perhaps you are. Or perhaps you are simply hiding a fire that burns hotter than any treasure I have chased."

He stepped forward, one steady stride, not threatening, but deliberate.

"Answer me something, Jade Belle. If your mercy allows the wrong person to walk away and they hurt someone innocent later, are you prepared to accept that weight" he asked. His tone was not mocking. He genuinely wanted to know.

"Will you still claim your ideals were worth it, or will you carry their suffering on your back and pretend it is light" he continued.

He folded his arms loosely, chains slipping over his forearm like water.

"You talk as though warnings and kindness can change the world, yet everything I have seen shows that only pressure and power make people shift. And that kind of pressure often breaks far more than it fixes."

He tilted his head, eyes narrowing in curiosity rather than hostility.

"And you think I talk a lot. Yet here I am, wanting to hear your answer."

Another step. Closer. Not aggressive, simply refusing to pretend indifference.

"If you defeat me, and then defeat the next hundred like me, how long can you keep helping the very people who would gladly crush you" he asked. "How long before your kindness becomes a weakness that someone else pays for."

His chains lifted slightly around him, responding to his rising intent, but he did not strike.

"Tell me, Jade Belle. Show me the strength behind your mercy."

"I can't do anything without fighting some people, words won't stop them from standing in my way" Jade is unbothered about the chains and Mad Treasure inching closer so doesn't do anything as they talk "It generally isn't mercy, more forgiveness and compassion. I will kill if I need to and will not be upset if it happens by accident, I just try my best not to do it as otherwise it will just make me like the people I am trying to stop and the world I want to change"

She doesn't flinch when a few bullets go past them a short distance away, being fired by someone behind her and missing their intended target. "After the first hundred or so battles, you stop being frightened of it. At some point I stopped trying to just survive them and started to have to moderate my strength and attacks during a fight to not kill or severely injure people, I'm sure you had some sort of similar experience." She pauses slightly and then shrugs "Or maybe you didn't have the last part as you are not like me, instead you probably fight with your near-full power all the time"

"Will you still claim your ideals were worth it, or will you carry their suffering on your back and pretend it is light" he continued.
The Dwarf doesn't answer right away but it is only a few seconds of silence, well silence from her as the fighting still echoed around them, before she replies "There is always a small amount of risk no matter what you are doing, choosing to let someone walk away is just something I have to accept the consequences of if it happens. Plus just because I don't kill them doesn't mean they get to go free, the Marines and various countries have a lot violent and evil people in their prisons due to us Revolutionaries delivering them or giving hints so they can find where we left them unconscious." Her expression then hardens ever so slightly, although it was less her face and more her eyes that conveyed it "I let people go but they generally get a warning as I will not give them another chance so if they squander it... I will face them with everything I have, even if they only hurt one innocent as it means they aren't even trying to change or think they are above the consequences"

"Is he getting to you or do you have this conversation with anyone who will listen?" Nikko speaks up in her mind again, always interested in learning tidbits about his new owner. Although he wasn't actually in her head, Jade could see a sort-of image of the Cursed Weapon's human form taking to her while floating in a white space like he was lying down with his hands behind his head.

"More the latter, although I try to talk more about the actual Revolutionary Army's goals than my own and it just often ends up on the topic of my approach" Casually replying, the Dwarf sends back an image of her pushing the floating Nikko away; essentially making him know she doesn't want him distracting her even slightly because their conversation was getting closer and closer to the battle starting. Getting the hint, the Spirit disappears from her mind although she can still feel his presence and use the weapon's power.

"A question or two for you first" Jade speaks to Mad Treasure again after his last two statements "Do you think you will be able to do this forever even if you beat me and my men? I might be strong in the Blue Seas and even a lot of the Grand Line, but there are far more people more powerful than me the further you go. You may find it fun to fight people and be entertained by ones who have a chance to beat you, but what about someone who can defeat you without even looking? For example, something like this is the bare minimum if you even want to survive the second half of the strongest sea and you can't even see it" As she says the last line, the Dwarf flexes her blade ever so slightly downwards; cutting a long section of wood on both sides of her and causing the large sail above them to move like it had been hit by a sudden gust of wind, all with just the pressure of her Armament Haki.

[TREASURE PIRATES]
Post 12 - @Ziosa

Mad Treasure listened as the girl spoke, unfazed by the chaos, unfazed by the bullets, unfazed by the chains shifting around him. She talked of compassion, restraint, killing only when she must. It was a strange blend of softness and hard resolve that he had rarely heard from anyone in his life. Pirates lied. Marines preached. Assassins whispered. But this small girl spoke as if she had lived every word she said.

She has seen far more than she looks. That much is clear.

He stopped again, carefully studying her as she explained the difference between mercy and weakness, between compassion and naivety. When she mentioned her countless battles, her need to moderate her strength, his grin widened.

"So you have been holding back all this time" he said with a low, amused chuckle. "Most people claim restraint, but very few actually possess the power to need it. You must think yourself quite something if you believe you could kill people by mistake."

She continued, speaking of the risks she accepted, of criminals handed over unconscious, of warnings she gave that would not be given twice. Her eyes hardened, just slightly. Mad Treasure noticed it. He noticed everything.

"You speak of consequences as if you alone can decide them" he replied. "But you are still young enough to believe your warnings will truly change people."

Then something about her expression shifted, a subtle sense of focus returning to the surface. He was not aware of her weapon’s spirit or the conversation within her mind, but he sensed her tightening her grip, mentally preparing.

When Jade spoke again, she posed her questions directly at him. Her voice steady, almost curious. And then she flicked her blade, just the slightest movement.

Mad Treasure watched as the deck splintered in a long line, clean and effortless, and the sail above them lurched from the sudden shift in air pressure.

He did not see Haki.

He simply saw a girl who barely moved her sword and yet cut wood in two directions at once, while shaking the air enough to stir a ship’s rigging.

His smile froze.

Then slowly spread wider.

"You are dangerous" he murmured, the words almost reverent. "And I mean that as a compliment."

He took a measured breath, the amusement sharpening into something colder and more calculating.

"You ask if I can do this forever. Perhaps not. Perhaps one day someone stronger will crush me without even turning their head. That is the fate of every pirate who chases power."

He stepped forward again, no fear in his movements, but an honesty that crept into his voice.

"But I will tell you this, Jade Belle. I would rather live chasing impossible treasure, fighting people who can break the world with a flick of their wrist, than crawl quietly into a life that bores me."

He tilted his head, studying her with a curiosity that bordered on fascination.

"You ask if I fear those stronger than me. I do not. A hunter does not fear the storm. A storm does not fear the sea. And a man like me does not fear the inevitable."

He let the chains slide more freely, feeling their familiar weight.

"You fight to change the world. I fight because the world is worth taking from. Because danger is the greatest thrill a man can have."

His grin hardened, eyes bright with reckless resolve.

"So no. I will not stop. Whether I survive the New World or die screaming, it will be on my terms. And if you defeat me here, then that is simply the risk I accepted the moment I boarded your ship."

He lifted his chin slightly.

"Now, small warrior, let me ask you something."

His voice dropped low, serious for the first time.

"If breaking the world is the only way to save it, how much of yourself are you willing to shatter along the way?"

The chains around his arms rattled in the breeze.

"And when the world pushes back, will Jade Belle remain Jade Belle, or become something else entirely?"
