The man had caused great destruction. The marine forces had taken a heavy hit. However, the heavy hitters were not in the ship. The girl had been taken by them, after all. Talon would land on the beach, now observing the cracked egg. He had time to take a breath and try to put the pieces together.

There were no Marines anywhere. Instead, from the entrance of town, patched up but wounded, came three children. Between the town in disarray from the explosion, Talon had leave the shore town in mayhem. These children, previously been defeated by the Marines, escaped amidst the mayhem.

[Trois] “Guys, over here! My nose never lies! There’s the Sennenryu egg! We’re not too late!“

The kids approached. They were unwary of the assassin, clearly they had seen a lot. Two of the kids kept a respectable distance, but one of them approached, his eyes of joy mesmerized by the egg.

[Deux] “T-t-thank you for rescuing our friend’s egg from Commodore Royale, sir! I-I-is it okay….”
[Uno] “It’s cracked!”

A look of worry came over the children. They saw the egg cracked, though the egg was as fiery and warm as ever. One of the children asked for the egg. Another looked around, wary of their surroundings. The third was listening to a den den mushi watch. The watch was Marines, likely taken off a corpse, with static and voices coming from them.

Who were these children? What was this egg? The story progressed quickly.

Talon was not able to confirm the death of his target, but regardless as far as he is concerned – the marines likely have lost most of the guards, or at least he hoped so. Getting to the shore with the egg, Talon has no desire to keep the egg, but he could understand how important the egg is to the marines, from what he have seen – thus he would bring the egg towards the town as well. This would ultimately lead Talon towards the three children, seemly wounded but patched up. The children would brighten up upon the sight of the egg leading to gratitude from the children, though upon looking at the state of the egg has created a cause for concern. Giving the egg to the children, Talon fumbled as he retrieved the notepad and pen, miraculously usable despite all the times he was in water. Scribbling a few lines, the words are larger, simple and less complete of a sentence.

‘Sorry for egg. Egg bait for Marine. Kill Commodore.’

The words are then shown to the children, a surprise as the Assassin involves kids to an assassination. But considering what has happened, it seems that the marines would try to take the egg once more, yet the kids would be useful as bait, to draw out his target. The Den Den Mushi would be useful to draw him out as it seems that the kid possessed something of the sorts. Continuing to write further, Talon communicated quickly.

‘Den Den Mushi from Marines? Can draw Commodore out.’

Should the static voices be from the marines as he hoped for, perhaps even for communication – Talon could use the egg to set up a trap. Talon would quickly point towards a decent area with a crowd, perhaps with a roof where the egg could be laid for people to see, and for the marines to take notice of. Whether the children would allow Talon to set a trap or not, Talon would quietly disappear into the night, aiming to hide close by to the children through good vantage points or alleyways as he keeps a close eye of his surroundings, if the item is truly valuable then they would come for the egg.

The hunter gave the egg to the children. They rejoiced, trying to patch the egg up. They looked to the horizon, as if waiting for something or someone, but it never came. The hunter did not speak, only write things down. This stroke the kids as odd, but they were so mesmerized by the man who took down an entire fleet, they staked their hopes on him. The fact that the hunter gave them the egg was all they needed to trust him - they were kids after all.

One of the kids looked at the den den mushi watch. They had not thought of setting a trap. With a man and a plan, they set it up. A request was made first.

[Uno] “O-o-o-Kay. B-b-but once condition! P-p-please save our friend, Apis! She risked her life for her friend, Grandpa Sennryu!“

One of the kids, in fear of Talon, made his request. Talon seemed to had no interest in the background, and so they would tell him only what he asked. Now was the time.

Regardless of how much information Takon asked for, Deus and Trois would make a call to the Marines, alleging they had the egg and the know-how to gain the Elixir of Youth. In exchange, the soight the safety of Apis.

Hours would pass, until daybreak occurred. The sun was beginning to go down, showing the town with orange light. From the outskirts, a group of Marines came. There were three regular marines carrying a large cart. In front of the cart was Lieutenant Commander Hardy, the one who took Apis at the start of the day. Apis was being dragged by the hands with him, still tied up.

What was in the cart, who could say? Whatever the case may be, the group of Marines arrived at the meeting spot. The kids held the egg, shaking as the men approached. A crowd had gathered, still cowering. The “exchange” was soon underway.

The trap is set. The children would stake their hopes onto Talon, whether in fear or in mesmerisation it matters little to the Assassin. The condition is to save their friend, Apis. Talon would merely nod but whether he cares about her safety remains to be seen. Hours would pass, sun has started to set, the night would soon set in. And the place of exchange would take place onto a crowded area. Talon would instead hang by near the buildings, himself hidden within the shadows – he would need to watch for his target.

Soon afterwards, marines would be seen once more, where they would bring forth a cart, a little girl would be seen tied up. Apis perhaps, from what he has gathered from the kids. Talon remained quiet, unwilling to show himself. It is not the time yet. He needs to know who else is around before he would strike, watching closely at the centre of the exchange and his surroundings, Talon took note of his target if he were to appear, his hands would hold on to throwing knives in the meantime. He would need the exchange to happen first. He would need to be patient.

The exchange was underway. The children were the bait. They had placed their trust on the stranger. After all, he had defeated a whole fleet of Marines. The plan was solid: use the egg as bait and have Talon swoop in and save Apis and ultimately the egg.

In the middle of the plaza, surrounded by townsfolk, the meeting was set. Lieutenant Hardy led the charge with three other marines, the latter carrying a cart. The Lieutenant came upon the children, staring at them. He gestured them with his face to flee, but they did not understand the hint.

Apis was trying to speak but her mouth was covered.

[Uno] “O-o-o-Kay. D-D-Don’t come any closer! Let Apis go and we’ll give you the egg. B-b-but you first!“

[Lieutenant Hardy] “That’s not going to work. We’ll do it at the same time…”

So it was. Hardy gave Uno the rope tying Apis and Uno gave Hardy the egg. Hardy quickly retreated, giving the egg to someone inside the cart. Suddenly, the curtains around the cart lowered. Holding the egg and chuckling with satisfaction was Commodore Nelson. The man was incredibly obese, fitted with the sign of Marines in his belly.

[Commodore Nelson] “Hahahahah! The Sennryu egg! The elixir of life!”

The boys tried to untie Apis. However, she had handcuff on her legs. The Marines still had the key.

The exchange has finally started going underway, there was four marines, including which seems to be an officer. The cart remains curtained. But as the egg is exchanged for Apis, the officer retreated to hand the egg into the cart, and thus the curtained lowered. It is Commodore Nelson. The target has arrived. Talon wasn’t going to let the chance go to waste. Immediately throwing two of the throwing knives, each knife is thrown towards the eye of Commodore Nelson, or at least the head to ensure his death, if not then he hope to take out the sight of the Commodore to prevent him from running and perhaps bleed to death quickly.

Talon DPR: 21-40: 2. Street Level + C: +1 (C-rank Throwing Knives) = 41-60: 3. Wall/Tree Level

The next set of throwing knives of four were then thrown immediately afterwards in hopes of using the sudden attack on Nelson to distract the marines further, each towards the head of the marines. With the exchange headed with what seems to be a success – Talon hoped the lower of guard in that moment would allowed Talon the element of surprise, despite losing the ship and perhaps making them far more alert instead. Talon would wait, looking to see if there are any more targets to watch out for. But should there be none, Talon would finally drop from the roof and perhaps to the panicking crowd that he would close in on the closest alive target, with a short blade in hand.

By now the kids should be away from the area. Or he hoped they are – for Talon isn’t going to rescue them if they get in the way.

The exchange was done. The Marines had tricked the kids, leaving Apis still bound. Commodore Nelson chuckled madly as he held the egg, the essence of youth. His body was strapped to this strange cart with legs, but his soul was ever young, always looking for a way to be free. Nelson would stomp on anyone who would get in his way,

The knifes flew towards Nelson. Suddenly, a gust of wind interrupted them. The gust of wind, the sound of blades clashing, parried the knifes, forcing them to go off target, sticking into the ground next to the cart. A marine uniform was discarded. One of the 4 “marines” stepped forward towards Talon, who fell from his alcove and revealed himself.

[Eric] “After your little ‘rampage’, this trap was embarrassingly obvious. Let me show you how a true ‘assassin’ operates.”
A statement. An assassin. The man who hid himself now presented. Stepping forward was a slender man with a square-like face, long sharp fingernails and purple hair, curled upwards in the shape like a hook. Thin black shades covered his surely shady eyes. Nelson, from his cart, laughed, speaking confidently.

[Nelson] ”That’s him, Eric! He tried to kill a prestigious, respected, honest Marine Commodore. A high crime! Kill him!”
Eric chuckled, presenting his fingers, his long fingernails shining. Luitenant Hardy looked around. The people were watching. He instructed the last two Marines to help him evacuate the people to make sure they are not in harm’s way. The kids fled towards the dock. Apis was kicking and screaming, refusing to be taken away and leave the egg. They struggled with her.

The gauntlet had been thrown.

Talon was not truly surprised when the knives are knocked back by a gust of wind, revealing to be another person yet does not show to be a marine, or at least how the coat was easily tossed away he might as well be. A strange man with long set of fingernails. How did they create a gust of wind? Talon wasn’t sure but he will soon find out, the wind is unnatural after all as the Assassin would have felt such a gust of wind. Eric. The name of the man in front of him, as Nelson would call out. The rest of the marines dispersed as they took to watching out for the citizen’s safety. Eric is the only problem, the only obstacle to his target, Nelson.

Talon would have to see what Eric is capable of, suddenly running towards Eric, but in a zig zag manner before he would quickly toss yet another throwing knife towards Commodore Nelson, this time without even as much as turning his head, aware of the Commodore’s location. There is only two throwing knives left. Talon would watch the man’s reaction, and his actions – with his zig zag like manner, it is difficult to score a shot with a gun, and not only that Talon has started to circle a little as he closes in, putting himself closer to Eric should mean it is not just difficult to shoot at him but also makes it harder to get a shot in without friendly fire. Even if the marines shoot at him, they are likely to be shooting in the direction of Nelson and Eric, and with Nelson in the peripheral vision one can at least garner a look at Nelson’s movements as well when needed.

The gauntlet had been handed down. The assassin soight Commodore Nelson, and he would have him. The assassin approached in a zig-zag. Eric dashed towards him in kind. The Whirlwind dashed by the knife, ignoring it after seeing Nelson had his mystic-looking revolver drawn. Nelson shot one bullet, hitting the knife squarely mid-air, both falling deaf. Proficient in gunslinging, Nelson could easily shoot down a knife.

Eric had appeared in front of Talon, right arm cocked back and nails sharp. With a swing of his arm, as on would a bat, Eric aimed to slash Talon with his nails across his body in horizontal fashion, aiming for the assassin’s right abdomen. What was confusing about the attack is that the slash would have missed - the arm was set to pass a few inches in front of Talon’s body.

Suddenly, and hopefully catching the man off-guard, five slicing air blades flew from the nails at point-blank, closing the gap and aiming to slash.

[Eric] “Sickle Sickle Wind Scythe!!!”
The attack amplified to cover Talon’s whole abdomen up to his neck. It aimed to blow him back. The mere wind would accomplish that, and blow any knives away.

The crowd began to thin as Luitenant Hardy moved the to safety. Freeing herself from the grip of the young boys, Apis ran towards Nelson, who was distracted with Talon.

Talon threw the knife right at Nelson, but it was quickly caught by the Commodore, a simple gun is used to simply deflect the knife away. Nelson is proficient in gunslinging, thus such straight-forward attack isn’t going to work. But for Eric, he would move closer to Talon – his arm would swing in the distance – an attack that would miss Talon just barely. But before Talon would realize, five air blades generated from Eric’s nail would hit Talon from the abdomen up till the neck, pushing the man slightly back. Injury is made as Talon’s clothing ripped from the attack, almost revealing the Assassin’s face as blood bleeds from the Assassin’s body, but Talon is not done yet.

Even as he is pushed back a little by the attack – the Assassin quickly swung one more throwing knife – this time point blank essentially at Eric’s right knee, aiming to handicap the man before him. As he did so, Talon would simply throw his short blade directly at Eric’s chest, aiming to prompt a reaction. Using his right leg, Talon would quickly stabilize himself and pushed forward with seemly no weapons on him this time. Running forward towards at Eric, the Assassin understood the attack, the powers of the man now. His eyes narrowed as he focused on the movements of the man. Eric is dangerous, but it seems the attack at the very least might be due to his suspicious long nails. For now, the Assassin had to watch for the hand movements of his opponent.

The final battle had begun. An unknown assassin with an unknown power. Eric was the first to draw injury, pushing the man back. Much to Eric’s surprise, the man held. Not only that, the man threw the knife. Eric, who had his body low by his last attack, was hit by the knife. However, he saw the blade was coming, using his nails to parry it, sending it a few meters away.

Bullets ringed out.

[Nelson] “Where are you looking?!”
Nelson had shot a trio of bullets in quick succession, a technique of rapid fire. 2 of 5 C Rank bullets left. One for Talon‘s chest, another to his right abdomen, and the last to his left hand. Nelson had used Eric as a distraction. When Eric bent down because of his wound, Nelson had an open shot. Eric held his thigh with pain. He took out the kife from his leg and grunted. Blood trickled from it, yet it held. Eric looked for more. He was ready for Round 2.

Suddenly, Apis jumped on Nelson’s head. He began to struggle against her, as she flailed her arms to distract him, seeking the egg.

Talon’s first throw of the knife would land upon Eric, but the man was quick enough to parry away the thrown blade – preventing what could be a fatal injury had it land on Eric. But Eric wasn’t the only one in the battle, Nelson would fire out several bullets as he shouted at Talon, the Assassin wasn’t fast enough to dodge the bullets immediately, but the exact moment which the first bullet was fired, hitting straight onto Talon’s chest and immediately onto his right abdomen for the second, the Assassin fell forward as he lowered his body, missing the 3rd shot. This would look like to most that Talon was defeated for a moment, but as Talon fell forward, his arm would suddenly move and drop onto the ground, turning into a handstand as Talon shifts his body almost instantly into a kick towards Eric’s neck, yet before the kick could make it to Eric – a blade each would protrude out from the boots as Talon performs a cross kick motion, aiming to slice Eric’s neck through the surprise attack.

Talon’s Durability: 41-60: 3. Large Building Level vs Small Building Level
Result: DPR 1 below dura: somewhat effective

Name: Scissor Kick
Rank: C [Scalable with knife rank]
Description: Talon goes into a handstand position and positions both legs together as he activates the hidden knives before spreading his legs to deliver a cross slash. Can be done without knives and deliver a drop kick instead.

As for Talon, the man is slowly accumulating injuries upon injuries – he would need to defeat Eric soon before he could kill off Nelson. Talon’s body is starting to feel heavy, and pain from the bullets have made it more and more difficult to fight as blood would slowly drip from the point of impact. If this doesn’t end soon, Talon would have to escape.

Eric pulled out the knife from his leg as Talon’s body fell. The assassin began to laugh out loud, telling Talon he could have never defeated him. Suddenly, the man’s face would turn to surprise, as the boy sprang up, kick to neck. Blood splattered to the side as the knife dug into Eric. The assassin fell sideways.

Suddenly, the man held his neck and got into one knee. Eric was slow, giving Talon time to react, for something big was obviously coming his way. The nails in Eric’s hands grew twice the size, now turning black. A final attack.

[Nelson] “I’ll take you with me! Kama Kama no Kamaitachi Midareuchi!!”
Eric slashes many times, releasing multiple air blades until they coalesced into a powerful whirlwind that would aim to engulf them both to shred them both. More importantly, the air pockets wuld break open any recent wounds. And so, with his final strength, Eric opened up the wound on his neck, forcing him to bleed out, his body hitting the floor dramatically. An assassin till the end.

In the cart, Nelson screamed. Apis had climbed behind him and scratched his eyes. This caused Nelson to drop his pistols. Lucky break, for he could not move to shoot at Talon again. However, Eric was able to grasp Apis by the neck, squeezing in pure anger.

Talon’s surprise attack was successful – the hidden blade of his boots would strike and fatally injure Eric. But the wounds weren’t too deep enough to essentially kill off Eric in an instant. This allowed the man to tried to take down Talon in a last ditch attempt. However, this slow action is easily seen – the man even cried out his last words before doing so but given his current actions – to simply dodge it is impossible. As such Talon would only be able to prevent vital organs from being attacked – as the Assassin would quickly raise his arms in a cross-guard even whilst upside down, he would have tucked in his legs immediately as well, lower the size of his body as a whirlwind of slashes would engulf the two. But with his actions, Talon avoided fatal injuries, his wounds would not easily re-open up, but instead Talon would acquire a number of cuts all around his body, though his wounds are only superficial. Dropping onto the ground along with Eric, the man is dead – but the Assassin still live.

Though pretty badly injured, the Assassin noticed the Commodore would start to choke the little girl, distracted in his anger. Talon would quickly react – throwing his last throwing knife towards Nelson as he is distracted while the Assassin ran forward. The throwing knife would be thrown towards Nelson’s arm – aiming to injure him and force him to drop the girl as Talon would jump above Nelson, his arm raised up as a hidden blade would protrude from within his gauntlets. Talon would aim a quick thrust into Nelson’s neck, though if he would utilize the children as a shield in the event Talon’s knife wasn’t enough to force him to drop Apis, Talon would simply jump to cart and behind Nelson to deliver a stab onto back.

Eric “The Assassin“ fell. His body thudded amidst the tornado of wind and airblades. The hunter had survived, now much worse for the wear. Between the initial bullet damage and this, his vitality must be waning. However, he only had one target. The man summoned strength of a man on a mission, on a bounty, and did a dual attack, ending rushing Nelson.

Nelson pulled Apis and began chocking her.

[Nelson] “You want to go, you little bitch?!”

The knife came to Nelson’s arm. He dropped Apis and dodged by shifting his body. However, this made his next reaction lapse. Talon vaulted up, another blade appearing, this time from his gauntlet. Nelson could not dodge. Instead, he could only move his head to the side. The blade cut Nelson’s right side of his face, cutting his eye open. It missed the bran, but Nelson screamed.

Now blind, Nelson began to move his arms to hit anything around him. He was helpless now. The guns were out of reach, and now blind in one eye. What would the hunter do next? He’s have to move fast, for the situation escalated.

Suddenly, a giant shadow of a dragon appeared above the group. Apis looked up and flashed a large smile. She cheered as ore dragon appeared over the horizon. They slowly approached. The eldest, the initial one, slowly descended, screeching with intent.

Nelson’s movements have made a direct kill difficult, but instead the hidden blade of the Assassin would cut into the eyes, causing immense pain to the Commodore as he fell onto the ground with Talon atop of him – the Assassin may have missed but at this distance missing would be impossible. Retracting his arm back, the Assassin have to quickly make his kill – prompting the Assassin to do it again, pushing his arm down onto the Commodore’s throat with the hidden blade. With his right arm to do so whilst the Commodore fumbles about with his hand, the other free hand of Talon would aim to catch the other hand should Nelson offer any resistance. Talon’s impatience would prompt him to focus upon Nelson himself – though he is somewhat aware of Nelson’s action.

Should the assassination be finally successful, Talon would quickly run and escape from the scene, there are still a couple of marines left but Talon is unlikely to be able to fight further directly. He would pick up the thrown knives that were in his direction, but should the Marines give chase the Assassin would have to get rid of them in a non-confrontational manner to say the least. With the arrival of the large dragon, or so he would at least assume so, Talon would return to the kids later, when he is no longer perhaps chased. The egg however would be likely left to the kids and perhaps the dragon.

Commodore Nelson struggled, flailing his arms. His inability to move because of his opulent body finally spelled his end. A man driven by greed and gluttony, it could only end one way. The Assassin performed dexterous moves and brought bladed weapons against the Commodore with no mercy. Blood splurged from Nelson’s throat, and Apis covered her face in horror.

Commodore Nelson was dead.

[Apis] “Grandpa Ryu! You’re here! Don’t worry, Baby Buri is safe!”

The small girl looked up as the large dragon descended on the group. He landed behind the cart, his large wings hugging the cart. Talon used the commotion to flee, leaving the area. The Marines had seen him running, but Lt. Hardy stopped them from chasing - he never liked Nelson, and knew that it would be futile, more lives lost. Lt. Hardy and his Marines would take the fallen for a proper burial. They would sketch a picture of the man in black clothing, to the report of one who killed the Great Commodore Nelson.

Apis hugged the dragon. The old dragon squeaked happily, using his large beak to grab the egg from the cart. Behind Grandpa Roy was a much younger dragon, female, who took the egg. Her eyes watered. Inside, the fiery dragon twitched; despite the crack, the dragon was fine. Apis had saved her friend.

The townsfolk would come out of the woodwork. They would be hesitant to approach, but Apis and the children would be the bridge between them and the dragon. Perhaps a symbiotic relationship would arise. The dragons would slowly leave for the mountains, but Grandpa Ryu would stay behind for a bit. Would they see Talon again to thank him?

The assassination of Nelson is a success – though he would not be able to kill the remaining Marines, yet the Assassin have at the very least killed his target, for his mission is done. Making his getaway through the crowd the Assassin would quickly disappear and to tend to his wounds. The town would rejoice with perhaps the arrival of the dragon though hesitant initially. Soon the dragons would leave and night would finally fall. The deal with the children and Talon is now fulfilled, as both has managed to achieve their objectives.

Night would finally fall as townsfolk would return to their homes – the children presumably in their own group as well. The Assassin would return upon patching up his wounds, quietly looking at the group of children, above them in silence – though he would not leave should the children noticed them. While Talon did not learn much about Nelson’s objectives, he would be sure to at least say his goodbyes to the group of children, and perhaps learn something about the dragon and the eggs, as which Nelson tried so hard to covet.

Commodore Nelson was gone. The Marine presence slowly left the island. Lt. Hardy would cast out an elect on the man who killed Commodore Nelson. However, in his heart of hearts, he knew this was right. Under his ire, the Marines had done terrible things to obtain the elixir. Now, the town was no longer under military rule.

With the veil of night, the kids had accompanied Grandpa Ryu to the edge of the mountains; the rest of the dragons long gone to their nest high above the clouds. The children rejoiced around a small fire. Most were bandaged from wounds, but cheering echoed.

Apis did not laugh. Her eyes watered as she hugged Grandpa Ryu.

[Apis] “I will miss you, Grandpa Ryu. Please come down to visit often. I’m always here to play with Buri.”

The dragon growled, and it seemed Apis understood him. She noted she would be the liaison between the Ryu tribe and the villagers - she could speak with them after all. It was a caring emotional “see you later”. Before they parted, Talon appeared, casting a shadow on the fire.

The children greeted them.

[Uno/Dos/Tres] ” ANIKIIIIII! Good to see you! You want some grub? We’re so thankful for your help!”

Grandpa Ryu and Apis turned to Talon. If he wanted to engage in conversation and ask questions, now would be the time. Cooked fish was over the fire, offered to the savior of Warship Island.

Apis and the dragon would continue to converse which resulted in Apis being emotional in regards to their future, but Talon whom now arrives would find himself in the middle of a kid’s gathering. Food were cooked campfire style and offered to the Assassin. While Talon doesn’t necessarily involve himself in anything else – his mission to kill Nelson might be due to the existence of the egg, which prompted the Assassin to at least find it worth investigating it, even for future references in his future missions. Knowledge is power after all. Taking upon the offer by the kids, Talon humbly sat with the kids, in his hands is the cooked fish offered to him. Using pen and paper, the Assassin would start asking questions in regards to the Dragon, the reason for the appearance of Nelson and such.

‘Why did the Commodore wanted the egg?’ and ‘The secret of the Dragon’, are some of the questions the Assassin would write onto his notepad. Even as the Assassin eats the fish, trusting the kids with the food – Talon did not remove the hood, keeping only his mouth exposed to eat the fish, for his identity would be required to keep a secret no matter who is it.
