I'm still wondering whether or not Zoro will actually part ways with Shuusui, actually.

It was said that the sword chooses its swordsman. Shuusui chose Zoro, did it not? Just based off of that, I think that Zoro will be keeping Shuusui, one way or another. I also think that something will happen that will make it so that Wano, as a country, accepts Zoro having it.

Mybunderstanding is it should be at least 1 of 12 supreme blade. The other sword should be on the same class. It should not be lower. C'mon! It's the King of Wano

It is definitely one of the Supreme Grade swords. It is called Enma(underworld), cut Kaido, is replacing a black blade implying it is its equal(and Shusui is 2nd as far as we know) and its from the Kozuki line, the people who can create these black stones xD

I think we got the answer . It is one of O Wazamono . If Enma being a O Wazamono is this much powerful , wonder what Sajio O Wazamono will be .

Is it possible for Enma to upgrade to a higher class? Or no?

Emma is one of the 21 greats swords. In the same tier as Shusui, the difference between them is that Emma is not a black blade which means, that is still has potential to level up to another tier. Unlike Shusui, that in the past might have been a tier lower than the 21 great swords.

Nothing has insinuated this is the case

Pure Logic, a black blade has the power of their holder, they come black with the haki and Emma is already in the same tier as Shusui.

Different swords have different properties...
Until it's stated that becoming black changes the grade of the sword nothing indicates so

Yoru and WB's Naginata are still the same grade despite Yoru being black

Are you saying it’s not necessarily always the case or it’s never the case until proven otherwise ? Because Kitetsu did say Enma would become a Supreme Sword if it becomes a black blade.

He said 'Rise in Rank' not rise in grade
It would rise in rank to be a Black Blade but still an O Wazamono

As for how Black blades of a great grade compare to Supreme grade blades that Haven't become blackened is still unknown and that's another matter.

Yoru is a black blade of Supreme grade quality
WB-Naginata normal blade of Supreme grade quality. (It still remains a Supreme grade blade after blackening)
Enma when blackened will be a black blade of Great Grade quality.

Black Blades are Ranked higher so far among blades of the same grade. But I'll wait to see what the official viz says

I think rank = grade. According to sandman (who can read Japanese) himself, Kitetsu did mean Enma will become a Supreme Grade if it turns into a black blade.

So Enma and Shusui share the same rank but Enma is the more powerful blade because it’s already a Great Grade while Shusui became a Great Grade when it turned into a black blade.

I think it’s probably what happened to Yoru, it was a Great Grade and became a Supreme Grade thanks to Mihawk while WB’s bisento was a Supreme Grade from the get go.

This whole thing gives me a headache, to be honest. You could be right, I guess we’ll see.

I think it's about - as said- properties. Shusui was said to have a hard and heavy blade. Zoro as a 3-Sword-Style user prefers sharpness and small weigh swords. This has been seen when he used the Yubashiri for the first time. Shusui seems to be better for a One-Sword-user like Ryuma. Zoro also prefers using the Shusui with both hands alone (vs Monet). What Zoro needs is a sword which strikes harder, which is given by the spirit of Enma and powerful combos. Also Enma seems to work better with the other swords.
At this point most of the clashes will decide on Haki: Under extreme circumstances Enma is able to put all left Haki in Zoro into unbelievable blows. It can also help Zoro to concentrate more on his Ryou Haki to finally forge his swords into kokuto. Shusui in this case has foreign Haki, which could make it impossible to be forged by Zoro's individual haki. It's all vague, but it's often implied in the recent chapter and all swords-related chapters as well.

But wouldn't that mean WB's bisento would be higher than supreme grade if blackened though? That would mean WB has the highest quality blade in the series which is unlikely considering he is not a true swordsman. I think its far more likely that blackened swords are stronger and higher in 'grade' than normal swords of the same meito class but still inferior to swords that are from higher meito class.

I don’t see the problem here. Whitebeard was a Yonko, Roger’s equal and the strongest man in the world. Him having one of the best (not the only one because there must be more Supreme Grade blades that aren’t black ones) blades ever created is fitting. He doesn’t have to be a swordsman, orherwise his blade wouldn’t be a Supreme Grade to begin with. There’s a reason Oda decided all blades can be Meito.

It doesn’t matter that Mihawk has a weaker sword, just like it doesn’t matter that Ryuma’s sword was weaker than Oden’s swords, Ryuma was still a better swordsman and that’s why he’s been able to turn Shusui into a black blade while Oden couldn’t do it.
