I have been reading the MU champs as well and witnessed the clear cronyism. It's a shame since this is just a game, whereas stuff like that shouldn't occur in relevant real life matters too, so a priori.
There are many nice and big mafia communities around, this whole idea of MU constituting 'caput mundi' doesn't truly make sense imo.

maybe we should try and organise a small event with mafia forums that dont feel like the mafia championship. Just something informal and fun to work with each other and get to know each other. We'll be in need of new members anyways

y, it doesn't have to be the same format or anything. Just some informal chill event :3 We can run some tryouts and see if ppl like it. Fact is, we won't be getting new members as easily (and it was already hard, especially this last year) as on OJ, which had a bigger base. We can't afford standing still if we want the activity on the forum to last. So getting new players will be a lot of work too anyways. We could try combine it.
