In the Vivre Card Vergo scene's using FBH had a brief caption on the last Vivre card: (quote)
''It super-hardening all your body through your armed ambition, your hard-trained bousoushoku''

The act of hardening by haki is commonly referred to in the manga as ''hardening'' (kouka). Except that in Vergo's card a ''super-hardening'' was used (CHOU KOUKA). There is a prefix before the common kouka. (This translation has been confirmed by two japanese translators, and the official Databook that gets released to the public is just a summary, where there is actually more info contained in the Vivre Card that gets translated)

In the description of the Pica card using FBH there is no such prefix of ''super'' (CHOU KOUKA), so it is clear that the cards wanted to treat Vergo's haki as something special. As of now, only Vergo has been described in this superlative way in terms of armament hardening. The only one!

Vergo-San's armament is "sturdier than steel" while being the only one up to this point to be able to combine hardness with elasticity, thus granting it extra toughness. Vergo with FBH would be the equivalent of something like case hardened steel where you have an extremely hard surface on top that can resist abrasions and cut (see how Doflamingo was sure that Vergo would resist Law's cut despite Law being able to slice up marine battleships, all of which are laced with seastone underneath) but having a softer metallic core inside that can act as a good shock absorber (hence why the Vivre Card makes note to mention the part about elasticity)

"his enemies prostrate before him" is another translation that didn't make it into the Databook

The poisonous gas and how to survive it

Vergo can survive the poisonous gas, seeing that armament can actually act as a shield against it

Vergo's armament and the hype it received

Here Caesar triviliases both Luffy, his armament and all his allies mid fight when compared to Vergo saying everyone on the island will be wiped out by his hands because he is a monster with "unstoppable armament" (CHOU KOUKU)

The Axolotl fruit

The axolot fruit was eaten by Caesar's smile pet, but being that it died, the fruit has returned into circulation. Oda likes to go full circle with devil fruits, so at the end of the day someone will inherit this ability. Both Vergo and Monet were well fleshed out characters, and no one can seriously argue Pound deserves more screentime than Monet, let alone Vergo.

An axolotl is actually a salamander, and a unique one at that as it has the power of regenerating and regrowing limbs, even inner organs owing to their incredible powerful immune system (as such also making it a hugely researched animals)! Vergo's health status will go through the roof with this fruit and will greatly add to his performance.

Now we all know Vergo is a sloppy eater but an Axolotl's primary feeding method is by suction which is kind of ironic, yet what would be even funnier is if he gets food stuck on his chin regardless of feeding method. That's Vergo-San for you

Vergo getting the Axoloti fruit? This sounds like enjoyable fun! If Vergo will reappear in some shady Doflamingo/Crocodile orientated underworld unity, then he for sure would bring some fresh air alongside. We know how rappidly Oda can change characters, ergo the Koby example.

I mentioned in my Monet theory that she may have found the Axolotl Fruit and Vergo's pieces, but now that I see this theory, I have to wonder how I didn't consider that those two things could be explicitly related. The Axolotl Fruit seems like such an odd puzzle piece to just leave lying around, and if it's on the same island as a guy badly in need of new body parts, it only seems logical that they would fit together.

So now I'm thinking that Vergo managed to save his head (and somehow his heart) with his haki, but nothing else. Monet woke up, flew about looking for her heart, found the Axolotl Fruit and Vergo's head (doesn't matter which order), then fed Vergo the Fruit (realizing what it was and how it would help given her attention to detail and pragmatism). Vergo then regenerated his body good as new (though perhaps it took some time, which may be a factor in the delay of their reappearance), and the two went towards Vegapunk to head off Smoker and the children (Vergo wanting to protect his reputation, Monet wanting to protect the children, neither realizing what happened to Doflamingo).

I always imagined it was Monet who was in need of saving and Vergo stitches himself back together ;) But now that you mention it, yeah that makes a lot of sense, that she fed him the fruit which aided in his regeneration :) Yeah that would be one hella interesting turn of events!

In such a scenario, yeah I think you're right, that they would be trying to head off Smoker and the kids. Funny enough, I hadn't thought about that, as Vegapunk is in a secret location, but Vergo has his methods and he is one of the most trusted Vice Admirals in the field to have his own base in the New World yet not be affiliated with Marine HQ (it's interesting he is not a marine HQ vice admiral) which to me suggests he is working under his own jurisdiction (makes sense, he climbs the ladder in the marines to the point where he is actually "above" the other VAs) and as such would be privvy to such sensitive information.

Not bad ideas! I have to read up on your Monet theory, I promise! ;)

I plan to add this revelation to my theory (with credit to you, of course), I'm just lazy.

The only thing I can't quite put together is how Vergo's story would continue once they reach Vegapunk. I detailed Monet working for Vegapunk, but I don't know if Vergo and Smoker are going to get into a fight, chase each other off, or what.

You think Vergo would ever stray from his demon brother?
Vergo will save DD by going into his salamander form and sneak into ID, one-shot Magellan with his superior haki and use his CHOU KOUKU to destroy the seastone bars ;) from there the plan that DD always talked about will be set in motion

That's a fair point, in much the same way that we didn't get enough interaction between Doflamingo and Monet, we only got slightly more between Doflamingo and Vergo, so if my theory that Monet will change her mind about Doflamingo through exposure to the Straw Hats is correct, then it would only be appropriate for someone else that's just as devoted to him to refuse to give up on him to either serve as an example of what Monet could have become (if things go poorly for Vergo) or to show us what Doflamingo could have become if things had gone better with Rocinante (as Vergo is an inversion of Rocinante, a fellow Corazon who went undercover as a Marine rather than a Marine undercover as a pirate, and who has a number of design parallels to Doflamingo such as their similar age and consistently wearing sunglasses).

I did mention that Vergo might end up being the one who helps free Sugar, and for now I'll stick to that, but I would like to see Vergo being the Mr. 1 to Doflamingo's Crocodile. I'd certainly enjoy that more than Trebol.
