The boy's body went cold immediately after the tore the paper, he was shivering and his teeth were chattering. He had made a mistake and got caught by the trap the Jiangshi left for him.

-"D-D-Damn..."
As the paper tore, a final crackle of faulting energy whispered out while a light green mist emerged from within and vanished into the air. A small sight to behold, thought Genjo would likely be unable to see it properly due to the effects of the trap. The magical energy imbued into the paper seemed to be dispersed into the air, releasing the one paper's hold on the door.

Shaarib did not hesitate, he had to go back to the third floor. He made a promise and with access to the 3 rd and second floors blocked. Shaarib could take a little pause. The Vice-Admiral flew back and illuminated the corridors.
As Shaarib's radiance took flight through the hall of the third floor, the vice admiral would find his disobedient (though loyal) ally, Genjo, struggling from the effects of the destroyed paper tag clutched in his icy hand.
Understanding Genjo's line-of-reasoning, Shaarib took a paper off of the doorway himself to experience the powerful mystical energy surge up his arm, though the cold would find no purchase on the phoenix-man.

Only three paper charms remained dangling from the doorway above the locked doors; with a fourth in Shaarib's own fiery hand, a destroyed fifth in Genjo's frosty grasp.

Shaarib kept walking until he arrived in front of a locked dorr with an ornament. With his wing, he went to cut the charm and was assaulted by the protection. A jolt went through the Vice-Admiral's body and he winced. (Normal Damage) He muttered an insult and looked again at the ceiling. Shaarib shook his head and went to open the door. Praying to find Yuki.
As Shaarib tried the door it noticeably budged, unlike the previous attempts; though it did not open. It seemed that the papers were indeed imbued with some sort of magic to seal the door (and also punish those who attempt to remove them) and that forcefully removing and tearing them was, indeed, a plausible way to disarm the enchantment.

While Shaarib considered the state of his friend, the precarious state of Yuki, and the three remaining papers overhead; the two marines would both hear a BOOM resonating from their floor, the temple creaked in objection to the sudden impact.
A Jiangshi Devourer had bounced from the first floor all the way up to the empty gap that was once the staircase to the third floor. The heinous claws of the beast dug hard into the wood as it tried to yank itself up over the ledge...The wood gave away and the beast fell back into the dark abyss below.
From behind a second horrible noise replaced it...BOOM.

A Jiangshi Devourer, this one successful in its arrival to the third floor, clawed all the way up and began bounding around the hallways in search of Shaarib and Genjo (who would be out of view at the moment). The deep double-breaths of the monstrous Jiangshi filled the gloomy atmosphere, it was coming for them.

Shaarib was not used to disobedience. The first years of his life were admittedly peaceful but Ener’s army showed the truth. The strong eat the weak. He grew up in a strict environment, you need to prove your worth at any time. He had learned always to follow orders. It was ingrained into him by Hajib since childhood. He knew it was always wrong but before going to SWORD or fighting Akainu, he always followed them without question. He had a broadened view of the world and politics. But to see Genjo’s here shivering did hurt him a little. The blond betrayed his trust and went after Shaarib to the 3rd floor. The commodore solved the puzzle around the door but the traps were going to kill him if Shaarib hadn’t decided to come in time…. Genjo was going to risk his life for the betterment of the mission and it was something Shaarib couldn’t risk. Shaarib did not speak, just looking through the COmmodore’s eyes was enough. They had an honest conversation and a mutual understanding of what the others thought. Strength and honor were important in the 169th and even though they did not agree, Shaarib respected the man. With one of his wings, he caught the three pieces of paper left and with the other he caught Genjo. They had no more time to lose. His flames couldn’t warm Genjo’s body but at least, they were going to heal the wounds the cold caused.

-"You are a dumb ass... I'm surrounded by rebellious children...Y'all never going to have a promotion like that."

Away, they could hear the loud noise the beasts were making. They were trying to jump to the 3rd floor. One of them failed, cause they were able to hear the crash he made when he hit the wooden floor downstair. But another succeeded and was coming their way. The birdman opened the door with a solid yank, and jumped through it : Yuki was waiting. He took the parchment from Genjo’s hand and put it on the other side of the door. He then gave the blond his heat dial. Now that he was sure of Genjo's well-being and that would interfere between them and the quest. It was time to look for Yuki and Stein.

The three papers (seemingly unharmed by the fire at first) sizzled and cracked with surges of the mysterious magical current before sending three concussive shocks into Shaarib's arm/wing; the chill was noticeable to Shaarib for a moment; the mystical cold energy for a moment penetrating the phoenix's defenses. Shaarib Hassan felt only a mild chill, but that alone was alarming in itself. These icy blasts were no joke and Genjo had previously absorbed a blast without the powers of a phoenix to protect himself.

Seal Tag
Description: A sheet of paper. There must be more to this.
Inflicts damage solely to the one who disrupted the tag. The paper releases an enormous wave of freezing energy into the target.
Inflicts Deep Freeze:
Deep Freeze: frozen part hurts a lot and will become unusable if used twice while still under this effect, the user will take extra damage each turn (C rank). lasts for 3-6 turns. Requires at least 71 mastery

101-119: 4. City Block Level (x3)

As the papers tore away, and their magical tether snapped, the doors noticeably relaxed outward from the airtight grip it had before. It was as if the room was breathing out after holding its breath for however long. The door should be unlocked...

Hustling Genjo and himself into the room before the looming beast caught sight of them, the marine shut the sliding door behind the two of them. Moments after, from the other side of the door, the dull thud of a completed hop could be heard. The seal tags didn't seem to reactivate upon Shaarib's attempt, so nothing was stopping the monster's entry...
The shallow doubled breaths of the devourer penetrated the thin door easily. As moments passed, the breaths did not fade; did it know where they were...?

...!

Suddenly, a horrible crash could be heard out in the hall. It seemed the Jiangshi had bounded off into an adjacent room, leaving the duo alone in the room, safely, for now. This room was lit, unlike the other rooms on this floor (though not greatly). There was nobody in the room to seem to be worth protecting or hiding in this room; just rows of books and artifacts (such as skulls of various humanoids and animals, gems and old coins, and mysterious boxes and ceramic jars).

Little time needed to be spent in the room before a voice could be heard from within the room with them (muffled). "Hello?" The voice asked out, without a clear source immediately within eyesight to the marines.
"...Bo?"

# Shaarib's eyes, under the hood of fire, closed for a bit. He hadn't predicted a reaction coming from the papers. The first time he caught one of them, he was preserved from the cold. But now, by keeping three of them together in his hands, the magic got strong enough to go past his mythical blessings. Three surges of energy went from his arm to his body. He had been dumb enough to think the talisman could work once again and it bites him in his back. Shaarib shook his head and acted unfazed although the grip he had on the blond lessened. His body got chilly and he now could imagine why Genjo was shaking like a leaf minutes ago. While the commodore adventures further into the room, Shaarib stops for a minute. The Jiangshi was at the door. The Skypiean's hands were already forming fists, he wanted to dish out as much as he received. He waited and waited but the zombie decided to crash into the door on the opposite. They were safe.

Shaarib looked at the room and knew in an instant where they were. They were in the quarters of the green-eyed freak. The fire on his body illuminated the room, he could see a plethora of books and artifacts used in alchemy. The vibes oozing from the boxes were dreadful. He knew they should not get near any of it. He began to scrutinize the room, looking for a clue when a muffled voice was heard.

Yuki ! They had found the woman ! SHaarib immediately rejoiced but the features on his face went cold. The girl was alive, she was hidden the room somewhere but where was Stein ?! Genjo responded to her, he reassured her and kept asking where she was but Shaarib did not care, he walked back, slid the door and threw one of his dials to the end of the corridors before sliding back to the room. The shell went and crashed into a wall and began emitting a loud sound. Shaarib wanted to attract the beasts there. He was going to destroy the flooring. He didn't want to be interrupted. If the woman wasn't there. He was going to destroy the wall too. The sound was muffled so she was probably in a hidden compartment somewhere. A small compartment since she didn't have enough air. At least that was what the knight presumed. #

The shell went and crashed into a wall and began emitting a loud sound. Shaarib wanted to attract the beasts there.
The muffled voice responded to Genjo's inquiries. "Up here." Was the response before an ashamed sigh continued the voice onward. "...In the box..."

There were a few boxes dotting the artifacts on the shelving, but a clear contender for the one in question was a small, rattling, black box that was sitting atop one of the higher shelves in the room; it was protected with a gold and steel lock keeping it shut. "I think it's crafted with sea-prism stone, so if you have a devil fruit be careful handling it!"

A single eyeball floating in a jar of nearly-clear green liquid turned to observe the two intruders as more light filled the room. Gems on the shelves glistened, as well as mysterious and unlabeled bottles of liquid.

The room had a very ominous energy, even being on a floor filled with dead women. Adding light, while helping the search, certainly allowed more of the horrifying props to come into view.

The dial slid through the shadow-soaked hall, giving off a light tapping/scraping noise as it moved along before it began clattering off with stored noise. The lumbering beast's attention was drawn immediately to the source of the loud noise, as well as the attention of any Jiangshi within vicinity. The heavy yet graceful bouncing noise tracked through the halls over towards the shell.

Genjo and Shaarib looked toward the boxes and the blond escalated the shelves to take the black one. With an huff the boy took the thing down and with Shaarib at his side. The Vice-Admiral at first was embarrassed, he left his gloves made out of seastone on Naglfar. He pondered for a bit before realizing he had the perfect tool to open the box. The iron cloud on his arm morphed, the iron turned liquid and went to fill the lock in the box. Shaarib looked to be concentrating and with a hand move tried to open the box.

- "Open Sesame !"

Genjo on the other hand was looking avidly at a bocal on one of the shelves. The eys had been moving and following their actions since they had opened the door. The boy cut a piece of his clothes and threw it on the bocal to cover it fully. They had to know if the key was able to free the woman. If not they were probably going to destroy the box or were going to fly to the Marien base with her in it.

The little box fell open and Genjo began to speak. The little, slightly-feminine voice chimed back as a Tontatta head poked over the edge of the box to look at the two of them. "What are you trying to imply?" Asked the offended dwarf. It was Commander Stein!

The commander went to speak but was cut off by a crash, just outside the sliding doors.

The Tontatta reflexively leapt from the box in reaction in case of enemy attack, and no later than that an enormous claw dug its way effortlessly, downwards through the doors; this action would leave behind a perfect gash in the doors for the monster too peer through at the marines. The two sets of heavy breaths intensified before it let loose a hellish screech at them from the other side of the doors.

# Shaarib let out a squeak ! They had been bamboozled ! The feminine voice they thought they heard was in fact Commander Stein ! The Tontatta jumped from the box and looked at the two marines with an angry look. Shaarib raised one of his eyebrows quizzically, who did the dwarf think he was to act like a diva when they just saved his ass ?

He asked, absolutely perplexed by the situation he suddenly fell into. A brief moment of silence swept over the marine men in the forgotten temple. The commander went to speak but was cut off by a crash, just outside the sliding doors.
The commander was able to get his head straight and began to look around. He recognized Shaarib after some time but before the dwarf could utter another word, the beast Jiangshi arrived. Shaarib made a promise to the temple, he couldn't afford to do more damage to it. The Jiangshi tried to enter and in a blink of an eye, Shaarib concentrated the vapor in the air into a ball of water. He hit it and it dispersed into the wind as a shockwave. He wanted to push the beast into the room on the other side. To buy him enough time to give out orders.

The Vice-Admiral caught Genjo with his other arm and flew to the destroyed stairs. He was going to throw both the marine outside the hole he had made when they first arrived to the second floor. The mission was complete, the commander was safe and sound but Shaarib wasn't goign to leave before he killed the green-eyed freak or saved Yuki. #

The temple stood still for a moment while the blast, launched from the Skypiean, invisibly streaked through the atmosphere. The Jiangshi Devourer grabbed onto the door shortly before the attack's shockwave launched the beast, in a moment (door still in the grasp of its diabolically bladed hands) the beast disappeared into the darkness beyond. The stomach grinded open but was too late to engulf and absorb the attack, the flesh on the body angulated and rippled from the impact of the attack; it let loose a heinous howl as it went flying but the noise was cut short by the dull, yet very clear, noise of bones crunching and shattering against the ground as the full weight of the beast snapped its own neck backwards.

The little marine commander looked up at Shaarib in shock and awe. Then he looked back at the Devourer as Shaarib blasted a wave of flames into the hall housing the creature.

"Yeah, right away sir!" The dwarf sprang upwards to the haven that was Shaarib Hassan.
"I am not entirely certain where they took her, I believe she was being held in the same room that I was in, before me. I was captured while trying to rescue her..." He grimaced at his failure. "I am almost certain Yuki is in this temple! It was not hurting her, at least not before I was put in the box."

As the fire spread out in the darkness beyond the door, a looming dark figure of hulking size rose up beyond the slowly growing wall of flames. The beast emerged, moving on all fours (technically threes, considering the leg shackle) like a demonic animal. The head drooped lifelessly above the torso, it was dead but the spirits trapped within still piloted the monster. The horrific entity snarled and hacked from its giant torso mouth from amidst the flames.

The dwarf shook his head in disgust at the sight, he silently mourned the horrid tragedies taking place in this wretched place. "This is a nightmare." Said Stein.

The Vice-Admiral caught Genjo with his other arm and flew to the destroyed stairs. He was going to throw both the marine outside the hole he had made when they first arrived to the second floor. With a breakneck pace, the vice admiral (with the captain and the commander with him) launched off through the temple. The giant beast, unable to react quickly enough after being so brutally wounded missed a delayed, primal lunge at the phoenix. Shaarib took his comrades to the impromptu exit he had made on the second floor earlier, with little warning he would hurl them from the haunted place into the gloomy courtyard below.

While Shaarib looked out and considered his next course of action, he would hear them just before they could launch a surprise attack. The phoenix would turn to see a Jiangshi leaping from an undestroyed rafter and transitioning into a jump kick as it zeroed in on him, with nine more undead beings still jumping along the few remaining structural pieces of lumber towards the vice admiral.

# Stein was safe and sound, Genjo was going to survive the adventure. The jiangshis had now Shaarib's full attention. The Vivre Card on his chest was still shredding. Shaarib wanted to let his anger run rampant. At first, he thought Yuki was on the third floor with the prisoners. He was able to destroy the second floor without a second thought. Now, he would have to refrain from causing more damage. The fire around the marine died out and he reappeared, the light died. A flame appeared on Shaarib's forehead, his Haki was not functioning within the temple so h only had his eyes and ears to trust. The Skypiean bounced in the air and began to descend to the first floor where the bulk of the zombies was. With each step in the air, his braids shook and flew, and the flame danced. A group of Jiangshi decided to attack, and as usual they tried to jump him. Which meant that the green-eyed freak was not present within the troupe. Shaarib condensed water at the tip of each of his ebony fingers, when the zombies got close enough, he launched a water bullet at each of them.

They were infinite and he had not enough time before the Beasts at the 3rd floor came or the fire. Whichever caught to them first. It was maybe time to act like a responsible person. He was going for a parlay. He yelled :

Shaarib condensed water at the tip of each of his ebony fingers, when the zombies got close enough, he launched a water bullet at each of them.

- "Fishman Karate: 10 Finger-Tip Water Gun ! "
Miniature geysers erupted from the tips of Shaarib's fingers to meet the incoming attack as he rushed passed the encroaching Jiangshi. Rocketing towards the incoming foot and pushing it away, back inward towards the shin. The Jiangshi flipped fully over itself, and had a clear hole through the center of it's foot...Though it seemed unfazed entirely; it rebounded off of a rafter and gave chase to the Skypiean.
As the water bullets would meet the other Jiangshi they would not be nearly as lucky as the first to attack; as they would lose pieces and parts of their faces and arms as the bullets penetrated far more critical areas; though they continued on: through dividing his attack amongst so many targets the potency of Shaarib Hassan's attack would be reduced.

The scarred Jiangshi were steadfast however, pursuing Shaarib from behind as he moved onward.

Shaarib's attempt at parlay was met with a short silence, followed by a rush from the previous ten Jiangshi; all still functional puppets for their master. The Jiangshi used variations of previous attacks against Shaarib:

81-100: 3. Large Building Level + 2 (DPR: B) = Town Level!!(x1)

Tiào tī(跳踢) (x3)- The undead Jiangshi use their forward, bouncing moment to transition into a jump kick; aiming for their target's head/neck/upper torso. DPR: B (61 Strength, 41 Chinese Kenpo)
81-100: 3. Large Building Level + 2 (DPR: B) = Town Level!!(x2)

Unnamed Attack DPR: D(x5)

The paper in Shaarib's possession was beginning to form into ash behind the steady-growing flame, if the paper was any indication of Yuki's life-state...It was beginning to look dire for the girl and it seemed reasoning with this entity was futile, at least at the moment...

As this chaos was taking place, far below where Shaarib would be flying were the captain and the commander in the gloomy courtyard. The clashes of combat could be heard raging on above them. The dwarf grimaced up at the temple then looked towards Genjo.
"Surely, we must not leave Vice-Admiral Hassan..." He queried the captain while personally considering a return to aid the vice admiral.

# Shaarib's inquiry got no answers. The green-eyed freak wanted to play with his nerves. He did not know who he was negotiating with. Shaarib was going to offer him one last chance. The Vicre-Card was turning into the dust which meant that if their leader wasn't present. He was maybe the one torturing Yuki. Shaarib let out a sigh and his armor took place once more. The whole floor bathed in the bright orange light that came from the fire. Shaarib could feel that his previous attack did not stop the Jiangshi and they were not going to stop. The lightning expanded and formed a beast, a dragon to be precise. Instantly, the dragon turned dark, getting fully coated in hardening. With a swift movement of hand, the dragon crashed into the ground fiercely. Shaarib is hoping to burn the zombies.

Genjo looked back at the dwarf, he wanted to go back and fight but the mission should be above everything. The conditions within the temple were bad. Haki didn't work and they had to run away. Stein was in lousy condition enough and Genjo's body was still frisky even with the heat radiating from his dial. The dwarf and the man were liabilities and Shaarib couldn't fight at full power. The blond could only hope reinforcement was on their way and that Shaarib would be able to save Yuki.

. The whole floor bathed in the bright orange light that came from the fire. Shaarib could feel that his previous attack did not stop the Jiangshi and they were not going to stop. The birdman flapped his wings twice, one to get higher and a second, more violent one to create a gust of wind that would protect him.

- " Transmigration ! "
The phoenix man, after dodging higher into the air, showered the undead troupe in a haki-enhanced maelstrom. The winds slammed the attacking Jiangshi down below into the darkness of the first floor. The phoenix's light allowed him to see enough of the first floor to see that it was truly crawling with Jiangshi at this point.

The vacant eyes of the zombies stared up at the ball of light, some with sheets of papers hanging in front of their lifeless faces.

- "DRAGOOON !"
The light from Shaarib's attack crackled outward in the shape of a magnificent dragon, the attack consumed a grouping of Jiangshi as it met with the floor of the temple. The dead, upright bodies went up in shroud of crackling flames formed from electrical energy in nearly an instant. The mass of zombies within the radius of the initial blast seemed overpowered and dropped instantaneously, embraced in true death.

Despite the dent that the dragon had dealt, there were still dozens of undead sprawled all throughout the the temple. The avoided the residual fire left from the phoenix. A Jiangshi Devourer bounding along amongst their comrades locked eyes onto the dark-skinned birdman.
A demonic moan escaped from its torso as it lurched up at Shaarib, reaching its evil claws outwards at him as it neared the Skypiean target. The zombie would attempt to bring its claw up past Shaarib's head and then downward towards the ground as gravity began to yank the behemoth back to Earth.
Lièfèng (裂缝)- The beast brings a single claw down on its smaller opponent, slicing and crushing the skull of its opponent. DPR: A (61 Strength, 61 Chinese Kenpo)

While the battle within the temple raged on, Captain Genjo and Commander Stein spoke:
- "You heard about him already"
The Tontattan marine frowned. "I don't doubt the skills of the Vice-Admiral..." With a small shake of his head. "...But to leave him behind...It feels wrong."

Upon the horizon the distant light of the sun could be seen beginning its journey across the sky once more. Sunlight was sparse but growing. It would be only half an hour until sunrise proper, at maximum.

"I believe in Vice-Admiral Hassan." The dwarf said to Genjo. "But I also fear for him...And Bo...And Yuki..."
The tontattan man looked up at Genjo and solemnly bowed. "I...I apologize for my failure."

Genjo shook his head, they had what they came for. The blond was not proud, but he did not waiver, he owed it to Shaarib.

- "It's not your fault the Jianhshi kidnaped you, the Vice-Admiral will do everything he needs to save Yuki..." The marine bite his tongue, he was about to announce Bo's death. With the state of the dwarf, his guilt would probably kill him. "We will arrive in Chongqing in 2 hours top my friend, you should try to sleep. " The cold was slowly disappearing from his body, his steps were heavier moments ago. Despite Shaarib's healing powers and the heat dial, it felt like the cold affected more than his body, it affected his soul. If he ran at full speed, he might arrive sooner than predicted.

Shaarib's eyes were travelling in every direction, the Jiangshi were not stopping. They were still spawning and for the first time since he began to fight, Shaarib felt doubt. He was probably going to fight all night and they were not going to stop and the knight did not have unlimited stamina. The birdman scrutinized the path to a corridor, he was going to make a tactical retreat and began to search for Yuki and the Green-Eyed leader. One of the devourer, lunged at the Vice-Admiral, he tired kicked the claw away and shut down his transformation. Once Again, the floor was robbed of light. Unlike the previous time SHaarib did not use his powers to see anything. He just rushed to the corridor, then when he arrived there, he lighted up a small ball of fire on his pinky finger and began to navigate through the differents doors. The SKypiean was going to try to find Yuki before the paper got turned to dust.

- "Fucking Zombies !"

Clash ==> Shaarib's strength is a tier above, but since he did not use Haki, the Jiangshi is not going to suffer.

Captain Stein nodded solemnly, he wouldn't sleep but he would sit in contemplative silence. He hadn't been nearly strong enough to defend himself or save his native-born friends from the undead masses. He would have never expected the two royal escorts to follow him so far across the city and into the forest; the thought of his failure loomed heavily on the silent dwarf's mind... The embarrassment of being sealed in a jewelry box while he could hear the struggled screams of Yuki would haunt him endlessly no doubt.

It wouldn't be long into Genjo's trek that he would he that scattered landings of quiet bounces. He was being tracked by the Jiangshi through the dusk. They remained well concealed at first, merely keeping pace with Genjo (possibly amassing numbers)...

But if Genjo were to hurry his pace,
He would turn to see an absolute onslaught of undead chasing after their fleeing prey.

As the beast's claws met with the marine's leg they would dig in through the skin, drawing three lines of blood from the points of contact. However, the blunt force of Vice-Admiral Shaarib's kick launched the giant beast back towards the ground at high speed. The giant monster fell on top of a two smaller Jiangshi, shortly incapacitating the three of them. The stone ground beneath them cracked and seemed to give a bit...

Shaarib landed shortly behind the giant's impact and hurried through a corridor to the side of the first floor. Rushing through the unlit hall while the undead underlings scattered in the dark began their prowl after him, the vice admiral found himself at a closed, hardwood door. Above the door was hanging another one of those cursed paper seals from before. As Shaarib contemplated his next move, the Jiangshi would fill the hall behind him; cornering him in with their numbers alone...The endless onslaught of corpses was finally beginning to crack the resolve (and stamina) of the phoenix-man.

Shaarib was inches away from giving up. He had been attacking the jiangshi since he entered the temple. All that fighting and examining got Shaarib to think. The zombies all had the same piece of paper on their heads. The same as the one on the door behind him. Their army wasn't composed only of the citizens they kidnapped. If hundreds of citizens were to be kidnapped, Seiryuu would appear. The green freak had to find corpses and wasn't going to steal them for the High Priest Jotei. The mastermind chose to collect the corpse buried in the Sunken Temple. Corpses nobody cares about anymore. A tsunami had ravaged the city and the Leviathan Pirates came to live there. To create that many zombies took a lot of time and if the monster hadn't crossed Shaarib, the Skypiean would have a lot of questions to ask. Noise got Shaarib out of his head and the horde found him.

- " Y'all are getting smarter and smarter...but I might be too smart for ya..." said Shaarib with a childish voice

They were coming, and the clash he had with the beast Jiangshi hurt his foot. One would say the situation was dire, but Shaarib was a proud Knight of the Sea. Thsi was his last stand against them and he hoped they weren't anymore where he was going. The horde invaded the corridor thinking they were trapping the Vice-Admiral. Shaarib's arms got covered with Ryuo. The man linked his fingers, trying to form a diamond. Energy began to build up within it. Shaarib's arms began to shake, he had a layer of blue flames to keep them steady. This wasn't an attack he was used to, it was the child between mastering Hardening and Rokushiki. A technique he stole from Kallavan and was never going to admit he used. When the zombies got close enough, Shaarib let the energy go and the beam submerged the mass and the rest of the floor. The man sttagered but did not fall. The attack had consumed a lot of his stamina, he was sweating profoundly.

- " SPIRIT CULTIVATION GUN ! "

Rokushiki Ogi: Kikoho (Six Styles Secret Skill: (気き功こう砲ほう Kikōhō, lit. "Spirit Cultivation Gun")
The ultimate version of the Rokuougan and by design Kallavan's ultimate technique within his Rokushiki mastery. A new 8th skill for those select individuals that have mastered both 6 versions, Rokuougan and unmatched mastery in armaments.

This technique is performed by gathering energy, forming a vaguely diamond-shaped "tunnel" with the hands by keeping the fingers on each hand together, overlapping the index finger on the one hand with the pinky of the other hand, and overlapping the thumbs. The object being focused on gets 'zoomed' in on and visualized inside that diamond through mantra, then the user shouts while releasing the large shock wave like beam from their hands. The application of the Rokuougan shockwave combined with the users extreme haki(120) allows for the energy to be burst forward into an attack of overwhelming proportions. Due to the intense application of haki this technique also inflicts damage on the user as it drains their spirit to life - threatening levels.
S+ Rank 100 Mastery, 100 Strength, 100 Armament Haki ==> 5 + 3 + 5 ==> Moon Level
T^T

That damn attack had consumed some of his life force. He still had a mission, he was going to take a break in his coffin. He had plenty of lifespans to spare. He was only eighteen. With his wing, he caught the paper on the door and slide the thing open. Instead of running, Shaarib threw the paper on the ground and began walking. He chose to lose his transformation but kept the flame blazing on his forehead. If one had been observing the marine since the beginning, it could see that even though Shaarib had a lot in his arsenal, the invincible warrior was getting tired.

____
The bad smell of corpses began to propagate around the marines. It did not take long before Stein saw an horde of zombies behind them, Genjo on the other hand was looking at the sky. It was incredible how they were survive for a night in the temple and to be minutes away from the morning lights, lifted the blond spirits. Maybe the hole of the second floor was going to save Shaarib from the zombies and give the reinforcements more time to act.

- "Genjo-san ! The Jiangshi are here ! " yelled the dwarf and the commodore acted accordingly, he darted forward as fast as he could. Hsi body coudl relapse but he would try to keep them away until the sun came.

- " SPIRIT CULTIVATION GUN ! "

Concentrated into a beam of pure destructive energy, Shaarib Hassan boldly wielded his own lifeforce as a mighty weapon against the Jiangshi horde. Mentally and physically drained from dealing with the ever-deepening complex issues of the Azure City without rest since his arrival, Shaarib would push through his exhaustion and cleanse the evil pawns away with the tremendous power of the life-force draining technique (that was further bolstered by the use of Ryou Haki). With no resistance, the Jiangshi bodies disappeared with the blinding light accompanying the vice-admiral's 'borrowed' technique; the Skypiean left no room for uncertainty amongst the zombies, there would be none left quivering and reaching out desperately this time, they would be eradicated in a brutally efficient flash of mercy...
Sure enough, the overwhelming power brought upon the Jiangshi assailants carried over beyond their own destruction and carried on in a straight line, blasting an enormous hole through the front wall (right beside the front doors).
Instead of running, Shaarib threw the paper on the ground and began walking. He chose to lose his transformation but kept the flame blazing on his forehead.
As Shaarib pushed ripped away the seal tag his body naturally fended off the ill effects of the seal tag, only sending the familiar dull ache that he had experienced multiples time in the recent past. After removing the magical paper form atop the doorframe, the Skypiean would have no problem pushing open the door and entering to a sizable room, divided into a lower section (that he was entering into) and a platformed section where loomed three figures...

Most notable to Shaarib's cause: A woman that was tied to a crucifix (not brutally nailed to the wood as Bo had been left). The blonde woman was tall, requiring a lengthier cross to be attached to. Looming beside her on one side was a Jiangshi Devourer, already with its attention drawn on the vice-admiral's entrance. On the other side of the woman was the green-eyed one. This body radiated a power unseen by Shaarib in the likes of the usual undead forces; this silk robe-strewn Jiangshi was likely the true body of the High Priest Song Wuji, the green-eyed mastermind pulling the strings to whatever horrific events were currently unfolding throughout Chongqing.

The woman's eyes would fail to meet Shaarib's gaze. The woman stared into the distance, looking instead through Shaarib, rather than at him.
Dressed in fine garments, the woman lifelessly stared out (seemingly in a deep trance). No harm seemed to have befallen the woman yet...
Though judging by the twisted sneer etched into the master Jiangshi's face, the potential for harm had not passed for Yuki yet.
The green eyes of Song Wuji met with Shaarib Hassan, and wordlessly the Jiangshi Devourer sprang into action; as if following a wordless command from its master.
Up into the air it went, brandishing out its sword-like fingers as gravity yanked the hefty body down towards the vice-admiral. The giant monster would attempt to gore apart and cleave open Shaarib's clavicle if given even the slightest bit of slack by Hassan.
Túzǎi (屠宰) - The giant creature combines its own enormous size with its vicious claws to both pierce and crush a target at the same time. DPR: A (Requires 81 Strength, 71 Chinese Kenpo)

Meanwhile, racing the dead that were seemingly rising up from the trees and bushes around them, Genjo pushed forward along the eroded, underused dirt path back to the city proper. With the shadows of trees beginning to form against the distant the sun was announcing its nearing arrival.

The Jiangshi were unable to keep up with the thoroughly trained speed and endurance of a marine captain; outpacing the dead, Genjo would leave behind the inevitable ambush. Genjo wouldn't be permitted any sense of security however, for every time the captain would be beginning to feel he had outran the last of the Jiangshi pursuers, the quiet crackling of feet landing on fallen debris from the treetops would remind the two marines that the pursuit wouldn't end until daylight...

Shaarib followed the path upon him. His breathing found its usual rhythm, the cultivation gun had its toll on his stamina. The sweat dried on his face. Some of his braids were stuck on his forehead, his body was not prepared for the straightening. He knew that at the moment the adrenaline would leave his body, he would be in pain. The technique came with huge drawbacks but Shaarib saw the results, the zombie army he spent hours fighting got erased from this world. Another proof was that he did not meet another group of Jiangshi. He entered in another room and immediately smiled. The chase was over. Above him, on a platform were three figures. The first he saw was the round form of the devourer Jiangshi, they were always around. The second was the most important one, red eyes met greens and they understood each other. he was finally in the presence of the real body of their leader. The green-eyed freak was a priest, his clothes were the clue. From him, emanated a lugubre aura. From the untrained eyes, he looked like a frail old man but SHaarib knew it was otherwise. His instinct were telling him to be wary. Finally, on a crucifix was a blond woman, Yuki he presumed, She was a splendid beauty. He now understood why the woman was so popular. The problem was that the woman seemed to be in a sort of trance. The paper was still decaying even though the woman was unarmed. They were doing a ritual ! Shaarib took some steps forwards and bid a salute.

~ "We are finally in front of each other, let me present myself... Priest of the Goddess Shaarib Hassan at your services..." the man took a pause and suddenly in his hand he had a lttle worn book with yellowish pages " Hum hum...before anything, let's pray...

LOVELESS ACT IV

The prayer now over, Shaarib slowly undressed. He took the upper part of his tunic and threw it on the ground. As an experienced soldier, he had a rather developed body, you could see scars left by swords here and there, even a bullet wound. The salient feature would be his whole right side. There you could see a distinct red mark, a burn scar. The sole proof of the birdman's weakness. A mark that showed him each day why he needed to be stronger. A mark that recalled him a little shandian took when he woke on the blue sea. A mark that told the story of a kid that never got his revenge. Maybe it was why he was always edgy... They were never going to now. The Vice-Admiral began to laugh as he walked forward. With each step, the restrain he had put on himself would wither. His haki was blazing with murderous intent. The floor at his foot began to break down from the pressure.

~ " Let's play now, shall we ?" said Shaarib with his normal voice

His question received no answer. The high-priest was still locking eyes with Shaarib. The Vice-Admiral's conquerors haki seemed to leave him unfazed. The beast Jiangshi bounced and lunged at Shaarib. They were so predictable. The skypiean's right hand took the metallic shine of Tekkai and he went to meet the Jiangshi in the air. At the last minute, Shaarib changed his trajectory, instead of using his right hand. His left hand came to hit the water vapor between them. The vibrations like previously cause a shockwave that clashed with the claws. A shockwave strong enough to stop the beast in its movement. Before gravity did it's job, Shaarib with a swift movement tried to cut the arms of the beast. The combination of Tekkai and Shigan could replace the best swords.

Shaarib did not stop there, he kept moving toward the platform. Using once again some of the vapor in the air to attack. His left hand still wet from the previosu attack was thrown forward. The droplets flew in direction of the priest, each of them more deadly than a cannonball. Shaarib wanted the priest to move away from Yuki. He knew an attack like this would not cause any threat. The Vice-Admiral wanted to see how the priest fought before using his Devil Fruit's powers.

(literally meaning "Great Arrow Military Shark"): A larger version of a normal Yabusame. The water droplets act more like blunt cannonballs causing dents in the deck of a ship than like arrows.

Shaarib's introduction was met by a dead room, literally. The reception was cold, as the only living person was incapable of any action (possibly any thought) it seemed. As the beast lurched into its attack the Skypiean took to the air to counter the hulking monstrosity.

First came Shaarib's counter to the Jiangshi Devourer's bladed hands; utilizing his skill in the art of Fishman Karate. The battle-hardened Skypiean would blast the claws back away leaving the beast's snarling stomach to fruitlessly snap at the marine; wasting no time Shaarib further attacked at the Devourer. Combining his mastery in Rokushiki as well as his control over haki, Shaarib would remove one of the monster's arms, but the rotund Jiangshi would self-correct in the air and smack Shaarib's hand off course of his second arm (leaving him with a remaining right claw).
Lièfèng (裂缝)- The beast brings a single claw down on its smaller opponent, slicing and crushing the skull armof its opponent. DPR: A (61 Strength, 61 Chinese Kenpo)
101-119: 5. City Block Level + 3 (DPR: A) = Mountain Level!!

As Shaarib would land gracefully to the ground, the beast would smash into the ground onto its back and then struggle in place (already attempting to rise back into the action).
Endurance boosted by his magical powers, Shaarib pressed on further towards the woman in peril and her undead captor. As Shaarib moved closer he would see the zombie priest sneer confidently.

With a disrespectful lack of effort, the Jiangshi elite gently waved his arm as the liquid projectiles approached. As his hand moved he released a fine, sparkling powder in path of Shaarib's oncoming attack.

As the powerful bullets would have punched into the unflinching Jiangshi priest instead they seemed to vanish entirely into the glittery dust for a moment...And then the gleam of the very same projectiles flickered into Shaarib's view. The priest had reflected the technique back at the originator. He was being attacked with his own O Yabusame!

Song Wuji, seeking to make the most of Shaarib's own attack, wasted no time in firmly pressing his hand into the cold stone ground beneath him.
As he pressed his palm into the ground a ring of mysterious characters, similar to the ones scrawled on all the papers attached to his minions and used as locks, sprawled across the cobblestone. A noticeable shift could be felt in the air, the room's sinister aura darkened further with the use of this dark occult magic. Inky characters on the ground circled the Jiangshi for but a moment before they blurred along the floor towards Shaarib at break-neck pace!

"STASIS." The voice certainly originated from Song Wuji, but his jaw remained shut in a coldly amused smirk. Powerful, sounding young and very much alive (not nearly as decrepit as his body would suggest).
Dark Ritual Art: Stasis - By first summoning a ring of characters around one's self, they will the characters out to lock someone in place for one turn. (100 Occult)
n/a

If this odd magic would find its way to the vice-admiral's feet it would trap him to the floor in that spot in a temporary muscular stasis; thus allowing his own attack to pierce directly into his bare, battle-scarred, ebony chest.

...

Meanwhile, fleeing through the forest:

Stein and, more notably, Genjo were growing exhausted. The onslaught of the night had been taxing, now being thrust into a race for their lives was a draining job for the captain. The soft sounds of Jiangshi landings were suddenly outclassed, a horrific set of intertwined shrieks howled out from ahead of Genjo; the sound of a Devourer.
He was pinched in, in an unfamiliar spot...
No...
Not unfamiliar...
Genjo would recognize this spot from before they visited the temple...

This was right next to the clearing where the marines had buried Bo. The Jiangshi seemed to be attempting to corral Genjo into the same clearing Bo had been murdered in; and there seemed to be no better options with the alternatives being either: facing down a horde of bouncing zombies OR facing an enormous monster (probably long enough for the horde to catch up regardless).

A horrible fog, much worse than earlier in the night, was rolling down from the direction of the temple. The sun's newly-birthed rays were being snuffed out by the dense moisture in the air. Everything was getting so dark...!
The sounds of fiendish pursuit were still behind him and Commander Stein now, ever-following. And now...the night was being extended...

# Shaarib and the Beast Jiagshi clashed and the zombie crashed into the ground. The zombie fell on it's back and Shaarib's attack was able to cut one of its arms. The Vice-Admiral was not satisfied with the result but as soon as he would be done with the Priest, he would come back to the monstrosity. As he jumped forward to attack the green freak, something unpredictable happened. The old man shook his hands and released some white powder into the air. Shaarib could see the condescending look that was thrown his way, no good was going to happen. The bullets disappeared when they came in contact with the powder. Shaarib gritted his teeth and advanced, he began to run to the priest when something began to flicker in his viewpoint : His water bullets were coming back at him. The same thing happened with the magical door he hit with all his strength. The priest was using Magic !

- " What the heck ! " Shaarib readied himself to jump on the platform when he heard the priest's voice for the first time

"STASIS." The voice certainly originated from Song Wuji, but his jaw remained shut in a coldly amused smirk. Powerful, sounding young and very much alive (not nearly as decrepit as his body would suggest).
How come the voice originating from the Jiangshi's leader was as young ? Was someone else controlling the body ? Were they another one behind all of this ? He shook his head and tried to jump. He had been lost for a lapse of time. Too concentrated on the incoming bullets and the voice, he did not even remark the characters under him. When he tried to bounce, his body refused to listen. The characters began to appear on his body. Shaarib was tricked, and the Priest used his magic to paralyze him. The bird got caught in a trap without even knowing. He overlooked the threat, he was overconfident. With magic, his strength was not a factor. He could do anything and it wasn't going to free him. The restraints were not rigid, but the more strength he added, the more weight the restraints would have. Shaarib could not move, the attack was coming. But the priest seemed to forget how the Vice-Admiral fought moments ago. As long as he had vapor in the air, he would be fine. He would be able to use techniques requiring a lot of concentration. But the basics one were still available. At the tips of each of his fingers, vapor began to concentrate. Water appeared and the little ball began to spin and each of them got covered by haki. The Skypiean did not need to move to use Haki. Half of the bullets went to meet with his previous attack while the other went to attack the Beast Jiangshi. Shaarib made sure not to target the monster's belly.

Attack
Fishman Karate: 10 Finger-Tip Water Gun: The user starts by pointing all fingers at the opponent, the user then condenses water at each finger-tip. The user then fires the water at the end of his finger-tips.

Clash :
  • Attack is 1 DPR higher: Overwhelms the weaker attack but loses 5 DPR ==>

Genjo was at the end of his wit. The marine feets's were numb, his body was losing its heat. The sun that had been supposed to rise was now hidden behind the fog. From afar, he could see and hear the Devourer Jiagshi. The beast was in the clearing they buried Bo at. They were halfway to the town. The blond knew fighting with the beast was going to be hard. He had high chances of losing the fight. If you added the horde behind them, the chances to survive were abysmal. It was a hard truth but Genjo was serene. If it was his destiny to die today, he would. They needed to bring Stein to their base. And if the dwarf needed the blond to be a distraction. He would accept gladly. The reinforcements were don't their way, Stein would be able to receive aid by then and could be bale to pinpoint the Captain's location. As soon as they stepped in the clearing. Gnjo let the dwarf on the ground and directed towards the exit.

- " Be silent and keep going Commander, it's time we part ways. Don't turn back. It's the only favor I'm asking from you sir. Keep going, the Government and the City need your intel !" Genjo did let the dwarf an headstart before yelling at the beast Jiangshi.
