It do makes sense, bt i would rather not see Magic in Kingdom, much less becoming a major plotpoint like to save the MC, evn tho Kyoukai fighting style is already more or less based on same.

I think Houken parents were somehow connected to Bushins or Kyoukai clan , that's how they had that healing technique to begin with. That's why that Bushin exerted revenge on em and stole their Kid i.e Houken.

Or it could be simple recruitment of Kids by Bushins for their cause.
