They say you are what you eat. Oden's first appearance was eating Oden, and the final one becoming Oden, the stew. Just like OP's theme of inherited will has shown us, such as Hiluluk's words, Oden's will shall pass on, and for the first time we see it happen immediately; Oden is cut off mid-speech, but the rest of Wano finishes his quote. AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND FROM START TO FINISH!

Oden is the witching hour boy 100%after reading what you said. It would make sense because he helped the people of wano in secret before. Igot a theory brewing now
While I like this, and had an Oden is alive tinfoil thoughts of my own, I dont see how is this possible, he did survive the boiling, but he got a bullet in the head from Kaido at the end of the chapter....

Only if someone with a resurrecting DF arises in Wano I guess, or if possibly Oden himself ate that kind of a DF while traveling with Roger.

Or if Toki met someone with a similar DF to her own but that can travel back to the past, and after Odens execution and sending everyone to the future, her and that possible person traveled back before his execution, and brought him to the future, but then Oden decided to be this mysterious vigilante until someone like Luffy and SHs show up. :pepethinking:

But then the past would be changed and Kaido and co. would know about that? Or they wouldnt if something like that happened just recently?:pepethinking:

Or Oden was possibly sent to the future right from the boiling pot when Kaido shot him, possibly surviving the lethal bullet to the head Thanks to his overwhelmingly strong CoC, and Kaido didnt notice cuz they just thought that Oden completely dissolved in Oden stew? :pepethinking:

That'd be reverse climactic. Nobody wants Oden alive. He already lives in eternity with those concluding phrases.

Well we'll see, Oda has a habit of blowing our minds recently.

Dunno why people pop up with the Oden is alive take after the latest chapter. It is confirmed now that he didn't survive in a physical sense. We not only see him dying and the narrator stating it as fact but even Oden himself asks Toki to use her power when he dies, which she did. Oden says during the chapter that they will not let him survive and they have his corpse. It would be a thematic disaster alone to let him live.

There are a few clues, but this one from the last chapter stands out:

Now this can mean 2 things tho, either 'Oh but you're not gonna die, your will will live on trough the people of Wano' or it can mean 'Oh but you' re not gonna die cuz I'll save your ass with my DF in the last moment.'

The first interpretation is in this case the only one that can be drawn because its not only an established theme of the series(proving Toki knows what is at stake here and about the "will of D"), the letter of Oden clearly states that he believes he will die and that Toki uses her powers for some unknown purpose afterwards, which of course is to send the 9 scabbards into the future. Oda communicated that this idea was spawned by Oden and not Toki, hence why Oden sacrificed himself in the first place and made sure that the scabbards will live fulfilling his dream even after his death(now Toki's words are actually explained by this revelation and that she knows that Oden wants the scabbards to be send into the future to open Wano's borders. This is the exact first interpretation of her words, otherwise why would she say that when Oden plans to survive when he intents to die to save his scabbards? That would be a contradiction proving she must mean it in the first way). That is besides Oden being burned alive basically for an hour and his body being dead already a la Whitebeard who still just moved with the force of his will. We also see clearly his corpse(especially the smile is a dead giveaway that he in fact died) and the author acknowledging his death at the same time. Going with the 2nd interpretation would just destroy the entire purpose of the revelations the last few chapters. Any way you slice it, it must mean he died or you find too many contradictions.

isn't that Drake?

It's drake, his shoes make that clear.

I don't know. That seems the most logical. Given that we find out that X Drake is still a marine and law was a shichibukai.
I wouldn't be surprised if law was still a marine agent and actually stole luffy's heart during surgery lol.
But when I first saw the shadowy figure, my first reaction was that it was Oden. X Drake is most obvious character for it to be.
But Oden secretly still being alive and pulling the strings would not surprise me. Even after what we just saw. Even a weaker Hiyori survived what everyone thought was death.

I mean that can be true but who takes over Wano's Shogun title? Hiyori?

Yez... Because momo will travel. Unless zoro wants to impregnate her during the journey.

In the darkness of my hiding situations of waiting to see all Oden's story all at once. I really can say that Oden is a character Oda built very carefully, because what he told us chapter by chapter with this man is the epilogue of Oda's life work.

Im so happy to see the progression in the story as im so afraid to see this going on and on.

And after the cruel execution of this brave man and the sacrifice he did, please, don't say he is alive somewhere by lady toki's power or that Kaido took him as a trophy because a honorable samurai always must death in the wings of honor without escaping the fate that was written already.

Respect.
